We'll all remember that day on the forums that Guard Dog and Gfted1 became the same person.4 points

Today I learned that "boring beetle" isn't a beetle that's dull and uninteresting, but the one that drills holes. I was always a little puzzled by the name, but thought it's just a fantasy critter naming scheme. You know, owlbear, displacer, mimic, that kind of stuff. And since they are usually found in the company of bombardier beetles I could see how they'd look boring in comparison. In other words, I'm still traipsing about gates of Baldur.3 points

Last Thursday the Sheriff of Tarrant County TX blasted illegal immigrants as "drunks" . Last Friday the Sheriff's son was arrested in Ft. Worth for public intoxication and indecent exposure. https://www.thedailybeast.com/tarrant-county-sheriff-bill-waybourn-blasts-immigrant-drunks-then-son-is-busted-for-public-intoxication?source=cheats&via=rss&fbclid=IwAR1ruxr_zlVs97wq4oJyb_4FD-U9Fx_gKCk8hp46gUwIYsQ3YY7a8VKqhRY Irony; definitely my favorite form of humor!3 points

^ Guild Wars 2 holds up pretty well visually. Also, in case you thought you might get a break from my unrelenting barrage of Code Vein pics... Giant Wolf Boss? Giant Wolf Spider Boss! (Giant Wolf Spider Boss is the name of my ska band ) This game has no shortage of cleavage, side boob, and underboob. Never change, Japan. Never ever change.2 points

Looking through this thread on an empty stomach probably wasn't the best decision I've made today, but well worth it. This is going to be a great resource for dinner ideas, and I'll have to post some pictures of my dinners in the future! Keep the food posts coming!2 points

If it takes their entertainment being affected for some more people to wake up to how the system works then I'll take that as a win.2 points

Yeah, the solution is embarrassing but very funny. Apparently I'd accidentally selected the target of Minoletta's missiles as self in a moment of incredible cleverness, hence he was charming himself when using that wand, and hitting himself in general. Thanks for your help2 points

I think there's a difference between how someone wants to be labeled, and objective definitions. Transpeople are usually very aware of their biological sex. It's not like they deny being born a man/woman, but they want to identify as the other gender. From what I've seen they usually aspire to look like the gender they identify as too - so you don't really get too many bearded brutes in the ladies room. If I met a transguy who was born as a girl - obviously the "technical truth" would be that the person is a female. The said person is very likely to be aware of that as well. Even so I think it's common courtesy to refer to the person as "male" because that's what he identifies as. Most of them just genuinly want to live as the opposite gender, and I don't really see a big problem with that. To me it's a "you're not wrong, you're just an a**hole" situation. I'll wager a lot of suicides and sad fates could've been prevented if people were more open minded on these sort of things.2 points

Since there's no complete list of unique spells I thought about actualizing this thread: Weathered Grimoire lvl 1 - Arcane Assault Jernaugh's Careful Calamities lvl 6 - Jernaugh's Equalizing Burst Zandethus' Dragon-Scaled Grimoire lvl 7 - Zandethus' Draconic Fury Bekarna's Celestial Grimoire lvl 6 - Arkemyr's Brilliant Departure lvl 7 - Bekarna's Midnight Daydream2 points

I crowdfunded both these games, and after two attempts, could not finish Kingmaker due to the game breaking bugs it released with. I haven't managed to bring myself to try again since then. I hate the kingdom management and the timers, and especially that they "fixed" the kingdom management by letting you pick invincible. I'm not very OCD in general, but I'd feel like I cheated using that option, even if it's to circumvent flaws in the system. Other than that, there's definitely a good game in there. Too bad I ruined it for myself by trying to play it on release. I'm not really a fan of comparing games, but Deadfire is horrendously underrated, and I'm quite baffled by the amount of people who insist Kingmaker is better.2 points

I don't remember that anyone objected to the statement that Heralds are very useful characters. So what needed to be validated? What got objected is not your obvious love of Heralds but that you constantly bring them up as suggestion - even if sombody just wanted to order french fries.2 points

Until you get WotEP you can dual wield if you wish, sure. In the early game St. Drogga's Skull ist a very good pick for a cipher (you'll have it right from the start). Just don't take two weapon style. Whispers of the Endless Paths is a great sword (you have the parts in your ship's drawer right at the start of the game but you need to assemble it in Neketaka - you can get it quite soon) - so I would recommend Two Handed Style. The focus will come in "on the fly" and passively because you will do an immediate retaliation attack (or even two with Riposte) that generates focus if an enemy misses you in melee. Since Mirrored Image and Borrowed Instincts stack you will be missed lot. Against the usual bunch of enemies focus generation is so fast that you can use Soul Annihilation all the time. I would always use Draining Whip because Biting Whip is just awful (unless you use the Community Patch mod).1 point

you are the man, thanks that helps a lot so a lot of int and res, got it, should I go perception dex or str on it? I suppose dual wield is good way to pump out focus right?1 point
-
A proven and fun concept is using a Trickster/Soulblade, go for max deflection (high RES and INT are benefical, Mirrored Image, Borrowed Instincts, Psychovampiric Shield and ACC debuffs on enemies) and use Whispers of the Endless Paths with the enchantment "Offensive Parry". It will generate focus for you when enemies miss. Add in Riposte (stacks with Offensive Parry) and the fact that Soul Annihilation applies raw damage over the whole AoE cone of WotEP and you have an rather tankish yet offensively very performant build. DoTs don't break stealth or invisibility anymore by the way.1 point

It was also labeled the next day when it was still the previous day in the US, but not in Hong Kong. Honestly I can't get too worked up. This is how capitalism works. Screw over the people to make more profit for your shareholders. People are just mad because this time they noticed, and they noticed because video games are serious business.1 point

"aspire to look like the gender they identify as too " Which is inherently sexist and playing with stereotypes. That leads to the 'all girls must where dresses' and 'all men must have beards'. There is no 'right' way to look like as woman or man. They come in dfifferent looks. Making yourself 'look like a man or woman' doesn't make it so. And, yup, Hurlshot, is right. Human psyche is hella complex. But, it doesn't change science/biology. "I'll wager a lot of suicides and sad fates could've been prevented if people were more open minded on these sort of things. " Simplication. I'd wager most transgender suicides have little to do with bullying, Everyone is bullied. I don't believe blacks have ever had an epdimeic of suicide besides being slaves. I think feeling like you don't belong and being literally confused of your place is what leads to transgender suicides being ridiculous high - FYI, the rates don't really go down even after surgery. That said, anyone who attacks or bullies someone because what they do with their own body is scum. Of course, I'm sure my definition of bullying is likely different from others. Some would argue that I'm a bully and mean and attacking simply by these last two posts. Next political topic.:)1 point

Seems to me that the whole bathroom issue gets misaimed. Your problem is with pedophiles, not transpeople. Old bearded men can go into the bathroom and ogle the little boys now. I know the right (and pedophiles) will try to conflate gender identity issues with pedophilia but they're not actually connected.1 point

@Slotharingia: I do not recommend Beneath the Stolen Lands. I actually didn't play Varnhold's Lot (as it's separate from the main game), so no comment on that. I do recommend The Wildcards.1 point

Not quite as bad as when I played Swtor (but then, I played that for 6+ years before putting it aside). My Guild Wars 2 level characters just keep popping up, getting played for a long time, put aside and then new ideas manifest themselves in my brain, I just desperately have to try out how it looks and works. So many alts.... I'm sure Arenanet loves the money I spend in the cash shop for character slots! A rather sinister dude, the Deadeye sniper, lurking in the shadows, hitting hard with a long range barrage of damage and fading back to stealth. Edit: I almost finished the pre-cursor for the legendary weapon "The Predator", which is a fancy rifle, no doubt introduced with this class in mind And the other new guy (girl) on the block, a "Weaver", which is an elementalist that unlike other elementalists can combine and use two elements at the same time.1 point

I used to see Steam as a necessary evil and although I do appreciate the ease of use it offers and some of its features (which literally took years to be implemented) I also use Battlenet, Origin, Uplay, Gog and now Epic. As long as it works and I can get the game I've paid for I don't really care, so far I haven't had any problem with Epic (and I've been playing Operencia, Rebel Galaxy Outlaw and the Sinking City). The reason I started using Steam back in 2010 was to play Fallout New Vegas so I'm not going to skip Obsidian's new game just because it's not available there.1 point

Have you tried one of these? It's made for rugs, but it should work well for beating ottomans too.1 point

By the same logic why would you play PoE in Real Time, if there is Diablo 3? Both are isometric RPGs with real time combat and D3 is clearly better as it sold better. You assume both DoS2 and PoE compete within the same space. They don't. According to Swen (maker of DoS2) there is relatively little overlap between those two games. One is absurd multiplayer focused sandboxy Coop RPG, another is singleplayer player-story driven RPG - both are RPGs, both are isometric, but their appeals are quite different. In this forum you are likely to find people who didn't enjoy DoS2 much(like myself) because we like games like PoE - that's why we are here. Being turn-based or RTwP has nothing to do with it. Why would someone play PoE2 over (or in addition to) DoS2 in turn based mode? Story focused experience with rich world and lore, interesting quests, well constructed city, factions, overall ability to role-play. In my personal opinion a much more flexible and impactful character creation and development. When my gaming buddy visits me, we will fire up DoS2 and probably have a great time. Tried to play it by myself and it was a boring slog.1 point

I somehow doubt that he's making a non-violent, classless historical RPG with turn-based mode.1 point

Ye i agree Boeroer. i find POE 1 and 2 more accessible than d&d / pathfinder. i never played tabletop d&d so playing a game based on pathfinder to me seems really convoluted compared to POE. I played pathfinder a for a little while and it makes me appreciate POEs straight forward attributes, more balanced systems, and commitment to no trap builds.1 point

As I completed my PotD Solo (Triple Crown + Magran Challenge + Berath Challenge) playthrough recently, I can share my experience with a herald. A had around 130-140 deflection, build focus was healing with Ancient Memory / Exalted Endurance and killing with summons. Nemnok is easy - there you can facetank everything. Fampyr Cave / Splintered Reef are more complicated, because you need Acolyte's Frostbite for free Concentration and Modwyr for Intellect affliction immunity. Getting Charmed/Dominated is annoying, because the Enemy AI often changes your Paladin Aura ... so you have to switch your weapon sets a little bit. Sometimes when you get damage spikes you need Greater Lay on Hand or Healing Potions, but in general its really easy with this class. It is not a build that won't get hit, but it is a build that survives this kind of stuff.1 point

Here my file: global.zip The file should go to %HOMEPATH%\Saved Games\Pillars of Eternity II\Achievements I haven't played very long, so I only got the easy achievements - altogether 27 point to spent This should be enough for: - +2 all attributes (15 points) - +2 all class skills (3 points) - special item shop on first island (5 points) - expert captain rank (4 points)1 point
