  1. Just updated the game on xbox one s and now I'm not able to do any building construction whatsoever

  2. I did, a week ago - and I'm anxious as hell. ~8 months, starting from November. Therefore, so far, I have learned nothing. Unless you count these horror stories from Obsidian boards. In that case, I have learned that coding is a soul-crushing voyage into pain and misery. EDIT: I forgot to actually answer: Java. EDIT2: Amentep please don't ban me

  5. I was looking for help on the Changeling's Dance fight in SSS for a solo Monk, but couldn't really find any here. Finally figured out how to do it after numerous tries, albeit with a strategy that only works roughly 1 in 8 times (but still better than impossible!) and a lot of luck. Wanted to share my experience. The Situation/Refresher: This is the fight in SSS where you're forced into the body of a construct and lose all active abilities. You gain an AOE fire aura and interrupting attack (with some AOE). As a part of the transformation, you also keep the following abilities: Passives (including Iron/Turning Wheel for Monks) Pet Bonuses Food and Drug Effects Attributes Bonuses (including Outlast Respite, Prostitutes, etc) The enemies party consists of a Rogue, Cipher, Monk, Fighter, and Ranger (with Animal Companion). Strategy Overview: Eliminate the enemy's source of infinite damage (Rogue, via Gouging Strike) and range threats (Ranger and Cipher), and then rely on drug/pet HP regeneration, armor and superior speed to outlast the opposition. Take advantage of the Monk's disengagement bonuses to avoid flanking and reposition to maximize AOE. Equipment and Skill Set-up: Abilities: All points put into Passives + Iron Wheel (+2.5 armor - for this fight, I prefer this over Turning Wheel) Skill: Max Alchemy (for Drugs duration) Pet: The Giftwrapper (+1 armor, HP regen) Food: Hylea's Bounty (+10 Def, +25% HP) - Both the HP and Defense was huge. Not sure if I could have done it without this. Might give other food a try later to test. Drug: White Leaf (HP Regen, plus concentration and will) Other Bonuses: Konstanten's Boon, Alchemic Trio (Outcast Respite), Berath's Blessings On first review, Monks don't have the beefiest passives, but they do have an above average stride bonus (+25%) and a nice disengagement defense (+32). With Iron Wheel and Pet bonus, you also have 16.5 base armor in the Construct form. Given these bonuses, a key defensive tactic I used was to eat a disengagement to avoid a potentially devastating special attack - i.e. Sunder Armor from the Fighter. With a base 10 CON, I was able to have a starting 478 HP for the fight (unfortunately the Iron Wheel CON doesn't help since it seems to just boost your max health). Full Breakdown: The key to winning the fight is to kill the Rogue before she can land a Gouging Strike - since that eliminates our ability to outlast. This is really where the 1 in 8 chance part kicks in. Since she's using a gun, you can't use the disengage tactic to avoid her hit. You can only hope for an interrupt, a miss. or her not using it at all. If you're lucky, Heartbeat Drumming triggers and you'll have a good time. Once she's low on HP, she starts spamming escape - during this time I usually focus on the next lowest HP enemy or the Ranger, and then refocus her when she reappears. While focusing on the Rogue, reposition (eat the disengages) so that you can avoid being flanked, getting hit by sunder armor, and catching - ideally - all of them in your AOEs. The second biggest threat is actually the Fighter, but it's not profitable to focus him down early (you want to wait out the Constant Recovery). The biggest thing to worry about is Sunder Armor. Fortunately, you can see it coming, and can eat a disengage to run out of range. This is where Iron Wheel is incredibly useful - if it does land, the extra armor means you don't immediately die to a series of over penetration. His charge stun is also very annoying (but not always fatal). The Monk and Cipher are usually near death by the time the Rogue goes down. The Ranger is technically a higher priority due to his ranged damage, but occasionally I focus those two down to get them off the map. The Monk can be quite damaging due to his bludgeoning damage type. Once the ranged threats are down, you can actually run around infinitely (due to your superior speed) and regenerate health while the remaining enemies chase you unsuccessfully. For me, most of the time it's the Wolf and Fighter that's left. The Whiteleaf's 400s duration should be more than enough, but even if it runs out, you can still rely on the Pet's HP Regen (which is infinite). If you want to be cheeky, you can actually run just slightly ahead of the enemy and burn them with the Fire Aura without getting attacked. Seems to work well on the Fighter but the Wolf dodges everything. I was using a Helwalker ( 9, 10, 11, 16, 16, 13 ) for this solo run. It's likely easier with base class and Nalpazca since they don't take the extra damage. Not sure about Forbidden Fist and Shatter Pillar due to slower wound generation (which we need for valuable armor). Going to do a high resolve Forbidden Fist run soon so I'll see... Videos (Trying to Embed - hopefully this works): #1 This run was decently smooth, I only had to rely on the HP Regen cheese #2 - It went very smoothly this time I have a couple of other runs recorded, but didn't upload those as I stupidly forgot to show difficulty/builds, etc. There was one attempt where I regenerated from 2 hp back to 100 to finish the fight...

  9. If Trump had condemned all racially motivated groups it probably would not have made much difference to the critic/ pundit reaction. The commentary would be about how he'd dodged the question of condemning specifically white groups and how he was saying that a BLM guy protesting George Floyd's death and Tim McVeigh were the same in magnitude. Weird as it may be failing to condemn the Proud Boys or whoever is almost certainly not a vote loser for Trump, anyone who viewed such things as disqualifying isn't voting for him anyway. As for why workers and farmers would vote for Trump he does offer more hope for them than the Democrats. What really lost Clinton the election- because it lost her those 3 critical rust belt states- was her telling all those desperate people that they were irrelevant and had to get with the program and become web designers/ programmers/ 'new economy'. If you're offered that as an alternative Trump saying he's going to bring back the jobs and take on Chinese manufacturing offers the only hope. Same for farmers, practically Trump's idea of being pro farming is pro corporate farming rather than pro mom & pop farming, but Hillary (and Biden) are 100% economic orthodoxy including things like the TPP which the farmers feared and Trump got rid of (ironically, the TPP also got far more attractive for all remaining participants as soon as the US left). It doesn't matter if you're offered false hope when the other side is telling you you're on an inevitable spiral to oblivion. I always find it far more 'confusing' why US voters are so keen to vote along moral lines and impose their own morality on others rather than they'd vote for someone who offers them at least a theoretical future vs someone telling you you're a dinosaur staring at an oddly expanding star in the end Cretaceous sky.

  13. Facebook has literally caused nurses to get fired and, good Lord, having their licenses revoked. Even if the wife thinks it's okay to share information, the pt might not. Other family members might see if it she posts it on my page and tags her husband. Seriously, Bruce, there're too many ways for this to come back to haunt me. On the other hand, I make myself available. Home health means getting texts and calls all the time. In fact, I have one patient who literally called me for directions to the clinic from where he was. Of course, he gave me the wrong clinic. I'm even super careful about what I post on here, which is why I don't give ages or ethnicities and the like. I mean, if I were completely anonymous, I guess I could tell stories, but there are a couple people here who know who I am and one person with whom I actually *am* a Facebook friend. lol Granted, having known him for... 20 years? I trust him implicitly. :wry grin: Anyhow, today I'm up and looking at the various tasks I have to do and instead wasting time at Obsidz! I need to beat feet, get the hell out of Dodge, and start ta crackin'! Later alligator!

  15. Welcome to my life. This is my classroom right now. Except instead of asking questions after zoning out, students email me for an individual explanation of what I already explained in class, and in the assignment description, and possibly even in a tutorial video that is posted with the assignment. I'm a bit surprised about the Facebook rule for nursing, but I have a similar policy in education. I am happy to accept you as a friend once you've graduated from High School. Granted, I only post pictures of family, food, and fitness activities. I put all my incriminating opinions on this forum.

  18. Unique experience today, learned that there are worse things in life than a stand up meeting. Those are only with 6 others, spent 3 hours on a call with 50+ people, truly was something to behold. Countless people zoned out, so they ask for questions to be repeated, countless people answering a question with different answers so time has to be spent clarifying the question and then who knows what.

  19. Gotta take a break from the political stuff, although I enjoy reading the thread. Guilty pleasure, I guess. Anyway, two things are apparent today. The Covid-19 craze has made it so I can't get a preceptor anywhere from LA to the High Desert to SD, the OC, and, most importantly, the IE. I think I'm going to be forced to drop the adult and aging family. However, at least I'll get my money back and, technically, I shouldn't be able to take it until next semester. They let me take a pre-requisite concurrently. Aw well, that's life. The other thing is work related. The wife of one of my patients has sent me a friend request on Facebook. Now, I *really* freak out if I have a friends list greater than 40. I like to be able to visit and disappear on my own terms. However, that's irrelevant. I can't have patients and their families on social media. It's unethical and unprofessional. She was upset about stuff last time and I stayed for about 20 minutes after attending to the patient so she could have someone with whom to talk. Nothing untoward. The patient was also in the room talking at the same time. Still, the thing is, while that clearly was seen as an invitation, I can't see doing anything different. What am I supposed to do? This is someone who also needs help. I'll figure out some way to defuse the situation, but I can't "hang out" with patients outside of work. It's seriously not a good arrangement. Something I had kind of thought of in a remote sense, but now that it's in my face it's just... weird. Good people, though, so no need to be hurtful. Just have to figure out the best way forward.

  20. Slowly making my Brno team better, means I probably will end up with a non Czech team though, as inevitably all my home grown players are garbage and I keep finding decent Slovaks and Serbs to replace them with. We may even win an away game now (this game models home advantage by making the away team stultified)

  21. Well, when the deadline is set is the issue, one can do it to avoid things going to crap. However, I suppose games is a different market, customers in that space care greatly about when they get something, and are all very smart on how long things should take, and there's a lot of competition. Blessed is the slave that learns to love the lash, is one of the best 40k quotes.

  26. Speaking of confused: you mean Woodskin. Yes, when it comes to stacking there's only two things once must know *cough* - passives stack with everything, actives don't - active bonuses that are not in the same "category" will stack. BUT! While this sounds easy enough it comes with two big problems: 1. what bonus is passive or active? 2. how can I determine the category of a bonus? While passive/active is easy enough to determine on the ability tree there a a lot more bonuses that are not in there, for example from items (passive), weapon proficiency modals (active), potions (active) and so on. And to determine the category one can't help but either read up a lot of stuff on the internet or play the game a lot. There are some general rules that apply and are easy enough to remember (like two active bonuses that affect the exact same stat never stack) but there are also so many cases where you wouldn't think it stacks but it does (see +x to one defense vs +y to all defenses). Afaik there is no comprehensive list of bonuses with their stacking rules. Maybe we could have made one here but it's just a LOT to unpack... Then there's also stuff that always stacks - like conversions (miss to graze to hit to crit) or power level bonuses (am I right here?). I still don't reliably know the stacking of every effect in the game and probably never will.

  32. Come on, it's not that bad. Nothing beats the thrill of having an encroaching deadline, way too much left to do, crunch to get it done somehow, then work 72 hours straight right before release day, have somthing break at 3 past midnight, barely fix it in time and then have to deal with people complaining your ear off. Crunch makes you dead inside. It breaks your memory. It breaks your recollection of events. Everything becomes a blur, one day blending into the other, endless pressure, endless demands, seemingly endless work days with absolutely no end in sight, and once the project is done and released you'll end up having an inderterminate time of support duty because heaven knows, no matter how much testing you do, no matter how much you think something's working or safe or easy to use, the users find some way to break it. Sometimes, just sometimes you get stuck on an issue that seems completely impossible to resolve because you don't even have the slightest idea what's wrong. And it goes on, and on, and on. And you have people calling. Every day. Complaining. Every day. And then the next day someone new calls and says: "Hey, I just wanted to ask, is this ever going to work properly or do we have to get used to the miserable performance of the program?" At that point you finally realize why people commit suicide or run amok. Or do both.

  38. I'll try...but I regressed back into the Release Candidate binary...so I can't grab a screenshot at the moment. What I did not see was a Button Prompt at all[X] to finish the command, but did see the Hand icon and the bizarre 3 dots inside the actual Tile...? I thought perhaps the items weren't finished being crafted, but they end up in the lower queue when the bar finished and the Hand icon appears when I scroll over to them with the joystick. I did not attempt a DragNDrop to loot the item from the queue, however.
