  1. Finished Solasta, interesting enough even with the straight forward story I think I might replay it, though might wait for the Sorcerer DLC. The power gamer in me wants to create the ultimate party now that I have all the meta knowledge in what gear is available, and what to expect. I also just read the studio is opening a partner studio to create a new game in the world, which is pretty cool. Would love them to continue to work on the graphics and interface because I would love them to come out with something as polished as POE2, that ran as smooth. Solasta is a little chunky ... is that the right word? Also, would love them to expand the level cap and add more classes ... I am a sucker for isometric RPGs ...

  2. It was better than those dreadful kid episodes that blotted last season. But they don't do a good job developing Amanda as a character, or explaining the Q angle to the story. Arguably q himself is more annoying as well. But still better than those kid episodes.

  3. Ranger: highest accuracy Skald: additional phrases from crits Convinced? Check out Beast's Claw. It's great on a Stalker/Skald. Sun & Moon (dual headed flail) is a great weapon for a Skald/Stalker because it gives you 2 stacks of Beast's Claw with only one swing and also gives you 2 chances per swing to land a crit (and gain an additional phrase).

  4. As a Skald, you want to get a lot of crits. Ranger is unparalled to get accuracy buff. Ranger / Skald is a really good combo. Rogue only provides 10% Hit to crit. Apart for this, Concussive Tranquilizer provides buff dispell, pet provides an extra body (if you fear to have it knockdowned, you can go with Ghostheart instead), Takedown Combo can be really good depending on your party and I even like Binding Root (very long duration semi-hard CC effect).

  5. Not really, I did get spooked a bit dodging the weird killer spheres but I scare easily anyway. It's about as scary as Alan Wake I guess, just in terms of setting and things going on that you see the aftermath of. Finished the second DLC, that was okay, those fights with Hartman were a pain, Langston is one bright point, his monologuing and freestyle poetry, hah. All in all, 21 hours spent on the game, not bad, may tool around a bit more with side missions but don't feel the urge to do the grind (kudos to Remedy to give us a cinematic of Trench talking about 'endless grind' to start off the endgame).

  9. I finished building a deck in the backyard. I spent a couple months trying to harvest pallets for wood, but I finally broke down and bought a couple hundred dollars worth of 8-foot pieces. I blew the budget a bit, but still ended up keeping the project around $350.

  10. I like the humour in Dungeon of Naheulbeuk. It's an acquired taste for sure, but luckily for me, I acquired it. Sadly, it doesn't have a built in screenshot action key, so I have to find something better. Maybe that built in feature in Windows 10 can do the job of taking shots during conversations and combat. As far as combat goes, it's quite well made. Easy to learn and hard to master. I think my next skill point investment in the party ogre is going to be 'Advanced Murderhoboing' "This spell was originally invented as a way to enforcing social distancing during pandemics. Nobody wants to shake hands when it leaves both parties bleeding and screaming in pain" Porn Scroll... "to access its content you have to confirm your age" (it's a junk item, no pictures in it)

  12. Watched Violet Evergarden: Surely, Someday You Will Understand "Love" @InsaneCommander this is the first special, in the timeline between episode 4 and 5. It's a slightly longer episode, clocking in at 35 minutes. It was written by the one writer that consistently made the episodes of the original run that I enjoyed the least (except for the great episode three), which doesn't mean that the episodes were bad, because the average episode quality is nothing short of... amazing. Anyway, Violet gets a tough job in this one, and there's a certain irony in her helping someone move on from the loss of a loved one who did not come back from war. This episode, if you want to call it one, has some really memorable scenes in it, and some very nice interactions, but it doesn't fit together as well as it maybe could. It's a case where the parts of the sum are curiously greater than the whole, not the usual other way around. edit: I think it's worth wedging in between 4 and 5 even on a first watch. Mostly because it bridges a little time gap between eposodes 4 and 5 that makes the transition easier to understand. It's not required or necessary to enjoy the original run, but it does leave you wondering if an episode like that was actually planned and just not realized. edit 2: To post a spoiler free picture of the special, if nothing else, someone really knows how to compose shots. Sometimes pictures really do replace a thousand words of exposition, don't they?

  13. Ended up being 60-59, though the Joint List would have voted for the new government if needed so practically there was more margin to spare. I think it would have to collapse pretty quickly to get Netanyahu back. Apart from the build up of legal troubles that he will have difficulty deferring now he's also accumulated a lot of enemies, not all of them outside the Likud bloc, and his style has been to use his position to play them off against each other and placate those he has to. That's become a lot more difficult now he has less favours to grant.

  14. I liked the trailer for The Outer Worlds 2. That in itself is newsworthy.

  15. The narrator forgot the most important thing for a modern trailer in 2021: A minor-key cover of an old classic song.

  16. Last day of Netanyahu - may it last. The incoming unity government is a fragile alliance composed of 8 different left, right, and center parties that have literally the bare minimum amount of votes to pass (61 of 120). *That* probably won't last, but hopefully it doesn't bring back Netanyahu when it does collapse.

  17. I concur, Stalker/Skald is a great combo. While you could wield Sun & Moon as a single weapon for additional chances to crit, with a ranger this probably isn't necessary, so I'd recommend instead a dual wield build. For your other weapon, Sasha's Singing Scimitar is probably ideal, for the once per encounter empower and extra phrases, as well as the lightning lash and action speed boost. You could put weapons with on crit effects in your offhand, like Grave Calling, to use when needed. Later, when you have the ancient weapons invocation, you might want the animancy cat pet to give your animal companion (AC) and summons a power boost. You should also bring along a priest companion to cast Champion's Boon on your AC, to boost its engagement. This is because with Stalker's Link, both you and the AC will get an accuracy boost against any foe engaged by the pet, so you can easily sweep them away with invocations like Her Revenge, which will melt them due to all of the crits you land.

  18. I like classic samurai films just as any other guy, and it looks decent, but I am wary of Polish devs trying to mimic a serious japanese drama. Avatar has always looked gamey to me (when seeing trailer for the first time I honestly thought it's Starcraft the Movie at first), so IMO it looks better then in cinema. What's the gameplay though. Far Cry: The Avatar?

  28. this got me curious how many other Super Bowl QBs has been drafted by the MLB. Turns out it was more than you think. John Elway of course but that one’s easy. Russel Wilson, Tom Brady, Kerry Collins, Ken Stabler, Colin Kaepernick, Dan Marino, Steve McNair, Jim McMahon, and Doug Williams all were drafted by a MLB team at some point.

  30. Yeah we definitely need boss fights. There needs to be different mission types instead of the same side quest that burgl gives out. And it would be cool if we can get those new mission types from someone else.

  31. Firaxis is working on an Avengers game with Xcom style gameplay. I mean, I will get it, I guess. Honestly I would rather have a Freedom Force type game where we could build our own heroes, but I guess I can get into sending a squad of Marvel characters in. I wonder if they will keep the breach and story style of Chimera Squad. I still would rather see Xcom 3, but I would guess that is in development.

  32. Look, it's painfully simple: Obsidian's latest patch introduced pink crap all over the place for Linux and Mac players (like me) on expansion content, which is far worse than anything I have seen in Skyrim, and it took them a fair time hotfix it out. It was a bug they introduced in the game in their patching process (not in 3.06, present in 3.07). I last played Skyrim for 54 hours, and in half the time playing Pillars (27 hours) I encounter a serious bug that alters the state of play and lowers my highest possible might on a build designed to do high single hit damage. Maybe Skyrim will also burn me similarly, and I'll stop playing that too, but currently it hasn't - and it also never has, despite Pillars having done so 5 times. If you look at the links in my OP, every single one of those are instances where I have posted in a particular thread reporting an issue. Most of these are issues I uncovered myself through trying to produce a creative and interesting character, which seems to be the worst situation to punish someone for. People accuse me of mental gymnastics, but if someone could care to explain to me how ridiculous pink crap all over the place introduced in what was supposed to be Pillars' final patch is better than any of the immersion breaking bugs ever present in Skyrim, then I'm all ears. I've heard that Skyrim had backwards flying dragons introduced by a patch (but crucially, not their final patch which I'm talking about), Pillars introduced pink messes obscuring large areas of White March maps in their final patch. I guess not being able to physically see stuff on a local map isn't important, is it guys? It's not at all entirely game breaking if you wanted to even play a little of the White March content? I don't know why I'm even trying to fight this anymore, because objective reasoning is stopping to make a single shred of difference anyway, but for posterity's sake in the unlikely event anyone ever chose to look at this thread again here is clear and objective reasoning laid out for all to see.

  33. Greetings friends! We absolutely love what you guys are doing with creating your own watercolor portraits and we want to help out! Our amazing and talented Matt Hansen created a PSD doc with instructions on how to create a watercolor portrait to match the style of the game! We've also included the texture as a separate file in you aren't using Photoshop. Enjoy! WatercolorTemplate.zip
