  1. We had a fantastic weekend away, we stayed on a farm called De Hoek just outside the small town of Barrydale. I went on a hike on Saturday and the food was self-catering which my sister and stepmom arranged so we ate like kings It was about 2.5 hours drive outside CPT in an area called The Karoo which is basically a semi-desert with vast sweeping mountain ranges and arid, ancient landscapes. I have tried to include photos below which encapsulate the trip and beautiful scenery. One of the highlights of the drive was going through a mountain, underground pass called the Huguenot Pass. It is a about 2.8 miles and a marvel of modern engineering

  2. ...and global warming throws a spanner in the works. Sorry to hear that, people in the western US. Living in Australia, I can appreciate what the "new normal" is for bush fire seasons (almost choking to death in my old place in Melbourne last year). Currently just sitting here, tapping my feet impatiently on the floor, procrastinating on the internet and waiting for the container to get delivered to my door with all my old personal belongings. My stuff has spent the last 6 years in self storage in Europe and now I could finally afford to get it shipped down here Much of the stuff was bought down here before I moved to Berlin, but there is also stuff that dates back to my childhood. Yeah, nostalgia can be a bitch sometimes Edit: Now unpacking stuff... nostalgia indeed (I think the tape is so old it wont work anymore)

  3. Funny you should mention that. As I was scrolling the pictures I couldnt help but wonder what are the odds of dying to machete attack.

  6. Since I managed to finally merge my disparate savegames. Imagine being newly exiled, following "the road to the city, any road road, all roads lead to Romethe city" and seeing this when you reach the edge of the desert... It's rather hard to get the entirety of this, well, city at this point, into a single screenshot as the games' LoS just doesn't allow for it. It's my first "home" in my first playthrough and I've been adding layers to it ever since, the latest of which being these watchtowers and multiple gatehouse entrance from the desert. While I did tweak the resource costs to build this (to 50%, iirc), everything was gathered the legit way (aka, not spawned in with admin commands) and built the legit way (no spawning in of building blocks either) in a single player game. Now I've merged it together with my "local server" games into a single save database running on my personal Conan Exiles server, this should hopefully allow me to acquire certain resources more quickly (fish traps "gathering" fish while not playing being a big one)

  8. I think it's mostly grain vodka though it can be made out of a lot of different things. I personally think potato vodka has more character to it but prefer grain when making mixed drinks because it's more neutral.

  9. I agree with this very much. Any set bonuses, perks, etc. should clearly specify what exactly it is providing. All good games(or at least, all the ones i've ever played) explain the mechanics/buffs/debuffs/etc. for you one way or another. There is no good reason for the descriptions to be vague like this.

  10. Long one. Abandoned Police Precinct: The Orlocks fighting the Goliath at the top light the bat signal: My Escher see the signal and zip-line to the roof: The Goliath decide a bat signal is a cool thing and they want to light one too: Instead of Batman, my Escher leader jumps down from the roof all Dark Knight style: The girls loot what's left of the precinct and uncover evidence of police corruption. 12. I think some minor changes can make a big impact on gameplay. Breakdown options; like destroying grass blades for plant fiber Weeds - they grow like weeds so why am I running out of dandelions after making two small houses? Map markers symbols - replace some of the generic ones with clay, quartzite, acorn, etc. markers instead. Be able to destroy webs to harvest webs Acorn shells are two few. After the latest update I only get 1 per acorn down from 2. I think 4 shells and 1 top per acorn would be a good balance.

  13. First of all, the game is great. I really only have one suggestion for things at this point. Especially since the addition of the crow, things being lost to water is becoming more of an issue. I have 2 crow feathers lost in the puddle below the bird bath, and one up in it. These are just lost since using an axe underwater isn't an option. I understand not being able to use a shovel underwater, but a one handed axe is definitely doable. However, if that is a mechanic specifically intended to be left out, maybe an option of dragging things out of the water could be added? I bring this up because I have lost numerous weed stems to the deeper water, and now the crow feathers are added to that. With the direction the game is headed, and the new things in the works, there seems to be an increasing need for a solution. Also, the "grab and drag" mechanic could also end up having more uses, depending on what is added and how things progress. Just a thought.

  16. It's a known bug for quite awhile. They are overpopulated like the larva were at initial release. They are working on a fix. Only thing to work around it is killing all the ants inside and out. Place a few lure traps in front of anthill surrounded by about 2 rows of spike traps. That'll help in the long run.

  18. In brand new games that you just started, no, it doesn't. However, once in game long enough, the ant population gets stuck in mini hordes across the map and are unable to complete their function of bringing food back to the anthill and also preventing ant eggs from spawning. I recently just started a new game and tested out this theory.

  26. Or how about encouraging other countries to become trading partners by encouraging production? That way competition stabilizes the market and we don't run anyone's economy off a cliff. BTW, Moderators. We need an emoji to express a patronizing tone.

  28. Issue is resolved and you can access your saved game now. Thankyou obsidian :D

  29. Yeah they sent me an email saying that they've had a flood of complaints about this issue and have patched it up. Just waiting for Microsofts approval to update the game. Its early access, you cant moan to much and have to expect issues. Be patient with obsidian. They are doing well with this game all in all.

  30. If you think they sit around on the forums all day you're wrong. If they had to respond to everyone it would be very repetitive because none of you all search these forums for your problem. So there are so many posts about this same issue that you could've read. You saying Obsidian is being quiet because they didn't respond to your posts is just lack of effort on finding the answer for yourself.

  34. I really enjoy this game, a lot more than most survival games I've played, but there was one thing i found particularly disappointing: To progress, you really have to be a bit of a murder hobo. I never wanted to attack any ants since the workers weren't aggressive, so it wasn't until i fought aggressive soldier ants later on that I found out the ant parts made one of the best early weapons in the game and finally made combat with bigger bugs viable. Maybe some balancing of the combat would help with some of this but i would love to see some more options for plants/trash to be used in crafting so that scavenging could be a viable alternative to killing everything for parts

  35. If you want pacifist try the Creative Mode. you can build anything you want there (and things not yet implemented into the other game modes) without killing anything. I do agree we need more blueprints for the junk materials that have hardly any uses now. have to wait and see what they give us.

  37. Every other game I have played that has any kind of creative mode still has the enemies in it. They are just passive. It makes no sense not having creatures in creative mode. Not to mention they were there in the beginning. Playing creative after the game launched there were bugs everywhere and then one day they just disappeared and people are saying this is intentional however you still see streamers playing in creative and they have bugs.. The world is just empty with no creatures and TBH it makes it boring. My wife had bugs when she first started creative, everything you see in normal mode was there and then one day they just went poof. If they were intentionally removed I ask that this is reconsidered as it makes no sense and makes the world so empty and boring in creative.
