  1. You know what? I'm dumb and was thinking of Spelljammer. Which is a shame, because my excitement is now gone. I wanted this:

  2. Assuming nothing got lost in translation this is kinda sad news: That said, apparently plurals are easy to trip over for Eastern Europeans, so fingers crossed. If they really only release the one (they promised at least two), then, combined with dropping the Red Engine engine for an off the shelf one, it would seem the money types finally took over. If that's the case I wouldn't be surprised if CDPR starts bleeding talent. Fingers crossed, but not feeling particularly hopeful with the news that's been coming out of that direction lately.

  3. Yeah, not advocating for/against DDG* or the necessity of privacy for searches like that...just that people should be aware that there still isn't any from just using DDG. For browsing, pay for a reputable no-logging VPN or use Tor while also maintaining a separate sandbox with agent/fingerprint spoofing to probably reclaim some semblance of privacy. That should certainly be enough for non-illegal activities, since nobody's going to try to put together a complete picture of what happened where and when to be able to connect it to you if the activity wasn't Serious Business levels of illegal to begin with. And if it was...well, that's probably beyond my level to provide useful advice for (and I wouldn't want to anyways - for me, it's a strong "yes" to a reasonable degree of privacy, but an equally strong "no" to platforms that sell drugs, weapons, confidential information, and/or people). *Though if DDG's search operators and results weren't hot garbage, it sure would be easier to advocate for them. Their horrible, no good, very bad Bing-derived results are...well, just that.

  5. I think that positive morale is very important for Ukrainians, there needs to be a will to keep fighting back despite overwhelming odds, so they hide their losses as much as they can and amplify Russia's as much as they can. As for the news in the west, I think they are giving it their all to try and keep this conflict in the public's eye and a hot topic overall. We'll see how long it will take before the Ukraine topic is once again old news.

  6. Willbreaker! In a party that plays around with terrify I really like to give him a club (+modal) and Cadhu Scalth and use him like a tank. I love to use Miasma with him, put Kapana Taga in the offhand and Reckless Brigandine as armor and then summon Concelhaut's Drainng Touch + a Phantom. I will have 3 engagement slots and deal devastating disengagement attacks against terrified enemies with Draining Touch. Later I like to use The Blackbow (and a phantom with the Blackbow), too. Tekehu is a nice addition. And Cipher is cool (maybe a Psion/something) because lots of their spells target the Will defense. A combination of terrifying some enemies + charming/dominating the rest messes up almost all enemy groups very thoroughly.

  7. IIRC even characters with affliction resistance benefit from the chanter chants. when the chant is active, it's redundant, but when the chant is first applied/re-applied, it automatically resists down existing afflictions. So, e.g. a mountain dwarf will rapidly lose even an enfeebled condition (though that is very rare). also having constitution resistance might be pretty good on a barbarian because their only main source of self-healing despite being pretty beat up is a Robust inspiration and it really sucks for some tier-1 enemy ability random sickened affliction to cancel it out. personally i do not think intellect is necessarily a king stat for barbarian. early on, having short frenzy durations suck, but later on PL scaling helps take care of that. Unlike PoE1, the aoe for carnage is smaller and scales less generously with intellect, and also carnage is also just less of a damage monster. I would personally recommend perception and dex. i also lightly suggest that Amra isn't worth optimizing for as a barbarian, though I don't have a lot of experience metagaming with this. Barbarians get exponential returns from perception investment (because carnage only triggers on a hit, instead of being something that gets checked every time) whereas might will only give them linear returns; i'm not sure some occasional extra carnage hits from Amra will make up the deficit. Willbreaker (or another morningstar weapon) is a pretty S-tier pick for a barbarian because of their ability to target fortitude defenses, coupled with interrupting enemies on crit, and I think that'll give you much better outcomes than some extra carnage hits.

  8. Starfinder really doesn't have any science in it, so I'd have a hard time calling it scifi. It is nautical space fantasy.

  10. No, it doesn't upgrade, so the shields quickly become subpar. But you can use my mod that add weapon-like quality progression to Magran's Blessing and Best Defense and rebalance the damages/PEN accordingly (my mod files are split, so you can pick just that component if you need) : Deadfire Balance Polishing Mod at Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire Nexus - Mods and Community (nexusmods.com) Note that this part was developped by @Noqnand he has his own mod that only add weapon-like quality progression without tweaking damages /PEN. 11. In all fairness, Google's searches have turned into hot garbage recently as well. All these algorithms certainly seem more of a hindrance than a help... I generally just use both (defaulting to DDG), depending on how hot the garbage served by either search engine is... As an aside, for those that might not be aware, you can search Google from DDG by prefixing the search with !g, same for bing with !b, making it quite a bit more convenient to repeat your search in another search engine. Anyway, on the subject of the thread. After my Subnautica Below Zero stint I've been mostly playing Conan Exiles (Isle of Siptah, and yep, still going ), and slowly picking away at my second Cyberpunk 2077 playthrough. Such a shame it appears CDPR is giving up on CP2077 already, and on their engine too. Seems the beancounters finally took over. Oh well, it was a good run while it lasted...

  12. Mamie it sounds like you distrust politicians generally? You mustnt be like that, all our politicians care about the poor and want to fix things like inequality. Thats why they always say in speeches things like " we care about the people " Why do you think they always kiss babies...its because they care

Sooner or later he would, and then another and then another... he considered West weak, due to how they **** up their "mission" in Afghanistan, and how much Eastern and Western block in EU was quarreling all of the time before the war... He did not expect the unity he got in the end... And I think with Trump up, there would be no way to establish such a unity as we have now...

  15. The most reliable way to obtain Adra Ban is probably farming Belranga's spiderlings with a specialized team. A berseker/priest can use Withdraw on Belranga (and keep her alive) after she summons her spiderlings, while the rest of the team kills them over and over again. I think there's 1-2% chance for a spiderling to drop Adra Ban, but in theory you can kill as many as you want...

Game does have a very simple photomode so you can at least pause/get combat pics. "Hai, don't you want to take me home?" Not the most graphic-uber game overall but sometimes it sets a mood/looks nice.

  20. in the past we has used 5 gal food storage buckets to make sauerkraut during the late fall and winter months when garage temps made such feasible. work well enough. however, this previous winter we tried something new... well, new for us. we used a couple .9 gal containers 'cause once the kraut were fermented, the containers were o' a size which would fit in our fridge w/o taking too much space. with two containers we coulda' kinda rotate 'em into the fridge as it took 'bout two weeks to hit optimal kraut stage in the garage... plan ahead on when we would be out o' kraut. HA! Good Fun! ps last year we spoke o' how we save extra watermelon by freezing it as puree and we turn the rind into pickles and/or deep fry. figured as watermelon season is fast approaching, we would mention how we most frequent use the puree, other than in a fizzy beverage. gazpacho. serious. ingredients: 3C watermelon puree. (alternative, use 4C cubed and seeded fresh watermelon) 2C cherry tomatoes 1 1⁄2 C cucumber, cubed, peeled, seeded 1⁄2 red bell pepper, seeded and diced ¼C red onion, diced 2T lemon juice 1t garlic, minced 1⁄2 C extra virgin olive oil salt and pepper directions: add first seven ingredients to a food processor or blender and puree. (edit: let rest a bit after the puree stage as you are avoiding cooking and chances are your fluid is already getting a bit warm.) with blender/food processor on lowish/medium-lowish, drizzle in olive oil slow to your puree. add salt and pepper to taste. chill overnight in the fridge. ez. ... hadn't thought 'bout garnish. cilantro? maybe some kinda olive? HA! Good Fun!

  21. sorry i was a bit unclear. if the mountain dwarf already has a constitution affliction chant, then it's no different than any other character with a constitution affliction chant. what i was trying to say is that the "redundancy" doesn't matter when the chant refreshes - despite the fact that the mountain dwarf innately has constitution affliction resistance, when the chant re-applies it will downgrade the constitution affliction, as it would normally do so for other characters. this is contrast to how we would expect redundant effects to work, e.g. no impact. the case i was talking about (enfeebled rapidly disappears) i was imagining a specific situation where you get by enfeebled (or weakened, which is more common) but don't have a constitution affliction chant running yet. the mountain dwarf would resist it down to weakened (or sickened), and then you'd flip on the constitution affliction chant, which would let the dwarf resist it further down (sickened (or nothing at all)) and then completely gone after one refresh, whereas everyone else would have wait one more cycle for the song to repeat.

  22. Nathan's hot dogs were on sale at a steep discout at my local Food Lion so I bought 2 packages of bun length. For maximum authenticity I decided to make dirty water dogs. I don't usually cook hot dogs this way, but maybe I should do so more often. Anyway, I am topping them 2 ways: 1) Sauerkraut 2) Tomato, pickle, and onion Both delicious.

  23. Yes, if you give Willbreaker to Serafin you could always use Saru-Sichr, which is nice due to the fact that poison stacks. Ultimately you might want to go for the Effort greatsword, which is fantastic in the hands of a Howler, although Mageslayer would be ideal, since wielding Effort your chants will apply the Mageslayer debuff as well.

'course bias is only an issue if you are one o' those bad people on the wrong side o' an issue, yes? *snort* HA! Good Fun!

  26. Well, Ravenloft was already back. And recently we had the announcement of the return of Spelljammer and Dragonlance this year. Here's all the recent D&D-related news, including title and release date for the D&D movie: https://www.geekwire.com/2022/wizards-of-the-coast-reveals-upcoming-projects-for-dungeons-dragons/ https://www.polygon.com/23034058/dungeons-dragons-dnd-direct-movie-release-date-cast https://www.belloflostsouls.net/2022/02/dd-on-track-to-deliver-one-digital-release-a-year-starting-in-2023.html

  27. Sorry for deflating your excitement. But for what it's worth, Spelljammer is one of the old D&D settings that is coming back, and according to the CEO of WotC they are planning on making video games in all of the active D&D settings. So at some point in the future you should get a Spelljammer game.

  31. Yes exactly! I just finished the solo run of Bloodmage (Thanks @NotSoCleverHound) I have been researching the forums, and I might reroll and do an SC Furyshaper. I am trying to do thing differently. It would be fun to get the Fear ward earlier, and I will try to create a 'terrify' theme party that focused on using terrify to maximize disengagement chances for a melee heavy party: this is what I am thinking. I would welcome all your thoughts and feedback! 1. MC (SC furyshaper) to CC, frontline, or flank. Will use 2h morning star for the fortitude debuff, and 2h pike for the accuracy debuff. I have considered Arma (2h axe) but it doesn't seem worth pumping MIG for. In fact, I think MIG is a stat I would leave at 10. Thoughts? 2. Eder (Swashbuckler) : so hard to pass up the benefits of having 2 resource pools. Will probably give him LDV for 2h attacks, and the sweet shock attacks (so few shock resistant enemies in deadfire, it is like the 'fire' of Skyrim!). Any real reason to go SC fighter? 3. Aloth (SC Wizard, or Battlemage, or Spellblade?!?) If an SC wizard, will also focus on using terrify spellls, and turn him into a combat wizard who uses a shield and maybe Sun and Moon to debuff reflex. Would having two sources of Terrify be overkill? Otherwise, he would focus on using bows, and eventually the terrify blackbow. I am just trying to build him a different ways since I ALWAYS go SC wizard. 4. ?? Someone to heal, CC, buff. Lots of choices (Tekehu fills his nicely) 5. Offensive AOE caster (druid, wizard, ?)

  32. Yeah I’ve done this a bunch of times solo. A Herald or Harbinger can be nice. Give Belrangouille infinite dot/potion of invisibility/retreat at the entrance to block line of sight/sing skellies chant/add summons if you want/go have a beer to wait for lots of adra ban/dust/mythic stone.

  33. Google has excellent search operators that I can't seem to find elsewhere that make it the only option for highly precise/specialized searches - searches that only yield a total of 1-100 results. That is my primary use for Google searches and why I have to stick with it for the time being. Stuff like "history of the Roman Empire" or "best ways to fry and season chicken thighs" can be looked up on any search engine, but particular program/OS errors written in a very specific way, exact checksums, media catalogue numbers et al. that you're trying to look up online all get the most relevant results on Google, whereas for the life of me I can't seem to make DDG behave when I try to make similar searches there. Man, I was hoping that was going to result in DDG doing the search and serving the results - I created a Google search that only had 6 total results, and then did the same search on DDG and got garbage, then prefixed it with "!g" and it literally just sent me to Google, .

  34. You will not land crits a lot, so everything that does interrupt on crit is of little use. Thick Grew Their Tongues is good to remove Concentration all at once. It targets Will though so you have to make sure Will gets debuffed. I use a club+modal. You can back it up with either Miasma of Dull-Mindedness or Arkemyr's Wondrous Torment. This drops Will by 45 points which makes it a lot easier for Thick Grew Their Tongues to finally hit. Then use a weapon/ability that doesn't interrupt on crit but on hit or even graze. Don't spam it if you don't have unlimited uses (see Mule Kick, Crippling Strike etc.) but only use it once the Dragon starts to cast something nasty. I however recommend to use weapons/abilites where you don't have to watch your resources, like Force of Anguish (Monk - a Morning Star helps to land this) or even better a crossbow/arbalest with modal turned on. Those modals allow to interrupt or even prone (which is interrupt+knocking over) on hit and it's not too hard to reliably land hits on the dragon. It's best to use two or more characters with crossbow/arbalest + modals and just keep shooting. If you are fast enough, especially with arbalests, the dragon will constantly be on the ground and get interrupted, too. Reliable interrupts at an incredibly fast rate with an arbalest is the main reason why I recommend Troubadour/Arcane Archer so often. Sure-Handed Ila + Gunner makes reloading a breeze, Thick Grew removes concentration, max Arcana + Spearcaster + Marksman and so on leads to insane accuracy and thus you will kock down (and keep it down) alost every enemy very reliably with 0 ressource costs. Add some summons for the enemy to attack instead of your party members. But it also works very well if you give anybody with decent accuracy a crossbow or arbalest and let them shoot. Of course this is not optimized, but you use two or even three party members it's extremely effective against a single boss, too.

  35. Biomutant - per usual these days I've barely played it but I did get past the tutorial type beginning and into the real world. Killed some big beastie as required then roamed around for a bit first, gathering some waypoints, seeing what's what, stealing loot from unattended crates. Have it all max at 4k with the usual (for me) 50-60fps and performance feels fine to me. Not overly demanding. The combat is simple enough, with the basic attack, dodge, and those (too many...) combo and special moves ala "Square, Square, Circle, L1" type stuff as well as seemingly a lot of items/crafts for temp. boosts and the like. Having to remember finger-tying combo sequences all the time isn't really my thing so I put it on Easy and just flail or shoot away like a 3 year old having a tantrum. Seems to work. I can see why the "narrator" aspect annoyed some - but at least they have settings to reduce or even turn it off now. Roaming around the world seems kinda fun. Seems to be plenty of villages and tribes/forts which I assume are quest hubs. Anyway ... not expecting some grand experience but it seems cute/involving enough for casual mucking about in, at least for sale price. At least there are funny/cute outfits to collect. We'll see.

  36. duckduckgo doesn't prevent your ISP and government from seeing what you searched for - the search you made is literally included in the URL that you're accessing when you make the search. DDG is just promising they're not tracking and selling what they could figure out about you to third parties. Which is better from a "these corporations are trying to track and/or advertise to you" standpoint, but certainly not much privacy in the grand scheme of things.

  37. I don't remember it mentioned at all in the second season, so that's either fans making excuses for a dumb show being dumb, or the dumb producers and writers are making dumb excuses for their dumbness. I'm fine with both explanations, really. Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, episode 4. The entire episode was an exercise in rehashing old plot points. Anyway, show continues to be okay enough for me to not hate it. It's the best it can do anyway, so... guess job well done so far.

  38. Oh....how I know the feeling! Got so tired of dying every time I put one toe on the ground anywhere near the oak tree that I finally put everything else in the game on hold. And built Jurassic Park Barricades. Some of them work.....others, well.....watched a wolf spider and his girlfriend phase right through two. (Sigh) Think I'll dig grubs elsewhere. Don't fret.....I'll be back! At level 12, armed and dangerous. Revenge is only a few upgrades away. Are we having fun yet? PS: Built a few towers as well.

  39. Finished Picard Season 2 last night. It was pretty good. Some things annoyed me. 2024 was a bit more advanced than it will be. 2024 Guinan showed no reaction to the mention of the Borg which was off. But I thought the actress who played her. besides being smoking hot, did a great job capturing the character. Plus all the other annoyances of time travel plots. Don't get me started. And didn't Picard have a brother? Where the hell was he during all the childhood flashbacks? And WTF happened to Picard's dog? Never saw him again. You know what? I don't think I liked it at all!

  43. To know the weakness of the bosses, you should be able to find information in files or Ominent Logs found around the backyard, so you don't have to face them directly to know their weaknesses or resistances, this would also make the player more attracted to collecting these stuff. All these, at least for those bosses who spawn once time, like the Assistant Manager
