  1. Hilariously, the new patch on GOG opens the game's Steam store page when you launch the game

  2. Completed Black Legend. Black Legend is a tactical game with turn-based combat. The story is linear with 1 choice at the end. There are side quests with different objectives, which do not offer any choice story-wise, but include a lot of backtracking. The character development system is class-based and classes are unlocked with equipment. In turn, equipment provides active abilities (they can be used with another class) and passive ones (only for their class). Stat growth depends on the class chosen. Equipment includes weapons (possible to dual-wield), armour, trinkets (various bonuses), and consumables (from healing potions to grenades). It is possible to customize the appearance and the name of the player’s (main) character (but they can't be a person of colour or left-handed for reasons unknown - the PC's appearance is never referenced and animations are independent). There are two unique companions, other mercenaries are random. The combat system is focused on Humours. Humours are passive status effects, they do not do anything by themselves, but can be Catalysed, causing damage. There are also more typical status effects, such as Bleeding and Poison, buffs and debuffs. The areas become available as the story progresses. Combat encounters respawn, sometimes with different enemy types and numbers. Some of them are possible to avoid. There are shortcuts within areas and a fast travel system between them. The latter becomes available only by the end-game, thus it is recommended to do side quests after unlocking it. The equipment did not seem random as the most powerful items were located in the second-to-last area. The controls are comfortable and customizable. The saving system supports manual, quick- and auto-saves (possible to set the number before rewriting) and it is possible to save the game mid-combat (on Normal difficulty; blocked on Hard). Combat animations can be sped up. The artstyle is consistent and fits the narrative, units and interactive objects are easy to see. The game has one of the best armour and weapon models I have ever seen in games. The voice acting and music are adequate. There were minor bugs, mostly graphical and harmless. Once a boss’ loot did not drop.

  5. Episode 18 includes both American and European fans discussing Woedica, the Goddess of Law. Woedica is a diety that plays a key role in Pillars of Eternity 1 and 2. She has been called the Exiled Queen, the Burned Queen, the Strangler, the Oathbinder and the Queen That Was. Why is Woedica such an important character in the world of Eora? What role has she played in the story so far? What might we expect to see from Woedica in Avowed? << This episode does contain minor spoilers for Pillars 1 & 2 >>

  6. Hey ShadySands, I'm definitely seeing that, so thank you for letting us know! I'll let our web developer know so he can look into what happened to the images and get them back up Thanks for all the help!

  8. I think we can safely say that anyone who praises WOTR's writing simply doesn't know what they're talking about and doesn't understand what good writing is. The writing is so obviously poor that there's no argument about it. But, as there's such a dearth of games like this, I'm going to play it all the same, although not just yet. And I enjoyed P:K despite the fact that the writing was awful! (Good and bad are not simply subjective terms. For example, Freddie Mercury was a good singer. No one has to like his music, or even his style, but the fact is that he was a good singer. Just try and sing one of his songs. Similarly, the writing in WOTR is bad. The technical faults in style, originality and even language are so obvious.)

  9. Definitely you should be able to claim legs of killed spiders and use them as a item similar in use as stems. As someone said the thin wings of the beetles and stinkbugs should be a window/paper like material. I personally would have liked iridescent scales to be roofing material, see silk be woven for carpet and flower petals as curtains

  10. Well, that's unexpectedly good news, even if the trailer is 90% random dance party for some reason. Some may say that Elex is the most jank of eurojank games, but Outcast was in a class of its own. And it had the best soundtrack of all time.

  11. Not true in any civilized country. In fact it's mostly illegal for business owners to refuse service to a customer unless there is a reasonable reason like disorderly conduct etc. In civilized society you don't need a special right to be a customer. I'm sorry but I find nothing reasonable in sharing my medical records to some schmuck to buy sneakers or headphones. The only business I should disclose any medical information is medical businesses that actually need those to properly provide their services to me. I've had my flu shot last week as I had for years before flu season.

  12. My bad. I just did the straight math of 174000 x 35% = 60900 / 12 = 5075.

  13. Hah, I almost felt bad about that too. Some crazy guy in a ventilation shaft was my first act of violence. I could have just avoided him or reported him to security, but I decided it was time to test out all these fancy weapons I carry around. Plus I recruited an orange as muscle to escort me around, and I needed to see if he had the cajones. I'm playing Silver, of course.

  15. Titan Quest was my favorite loot em up(lmup?) until Grim Dawn (essentially Better Titan Quest) came along. The one thing I prefer about TQ over GD is the setting, I love me some Greek mythology. I'm looking forward to revisiting the game.

  17. there's no steam achievement related. they had them for poe1, but there was a bit of an outrage for achievement hunters for tying steam achievements to such an insane challenge. (disclaimer: i was one of the outraged voices. but i'm a sucker for punishment so i did them anyway.) your satisfaction is that in the magran's fire menu, those options are now checked as completed.

  18. You have no legal compulsion to shop at a particular store, therefore you are not being legally required to give up your right to medical privacy, as your choice to shop at the store is dependent on you volunteering to choose to disclose your medical information to retain the privilege of shopping at that private institution or not. Not unlike you choosing to abide by no shirt/no shoes, buy into a shoppers club or any other reasonable measures business owners may institute that would be voluntarily accepted by its clientele. I see this as being fairly reasonable unless there were situations where necessities (primarily food and water) have no alternatives ways of purchase for patrons (ie stores that could opt out if that's an option within laws and mandates or by paying for delivery to your home, for example), in which case local mandates covering only stores providing necessities rather than state mandates (or even finding ways to make alternative arrangements on behalf of the citizens by the government to meet those necessities) might be better choices, in my opinion, and obviously dependent on the situations involved. This does not appear to be the case in the blanket Florida order, however. I'm more understanding of limiting governmental offices and operations from requesting medical information since there is often no other option in governmental dealings that hold legal requirements to attend outside of a face-to-face meetings/appointment and in those cases the surrendering of medical information would be more compulsory due to the legal requirements of the business being conducted with the municipality. But I'd consider it reasonable for states/local governments to look at them there if there were options available that would allow citizens to finalize their legal business with the government without disclosures, but only for those services that had those alternatives.

  19. Its not even a consistent law, unless they also start fining businesses for requiring shirts and shoes for services and fining the store if they refuse service to disruptive patrons and fine them if they do not accept whatever form of payment the customer brings and fine them for any of the millions of other limitations to service business make everyday under the guise of protecting the customer's 'rights'. Otherwise its just an arbitrary limitation to the business owner's right to determine how best to run their company made to win political points without a real rational basis for being done.

  20. There are steam achievements, but I don't know if triple crown is one of them. I have 44 of 55, myself, and of the 11 I don't have, 5 are hidden. So, it could be one of those, and I just can't confirm. Or it could be like the god challenges, adding more difficulty or a tweak for more challenge without an achievement.

  23. Mostly lots of cheese is involved. I never tried because I (almost) never use the Blackened Plate - but I guess you can sneak in solo (park the rest of the party on the ship) with the help of Smoke Veil/Potion of Invis./Bounding Boots and only kill the quartermaster + ads with Lover's Embrace/Gouging Strike/Brand Enemy. As an Assassin this should be possible pretty early if I don't forget some major obstacle. But in a Triple Crown run I still wouldn't try that I guess. One misstep and you're done. Easier to export the plate with a character and import that char with items in a new game.

  24. If you kill One-Eyed Prim then Two-Eyed Prim will take over after that (you can see that if you kill One-Eyed Prim earlier). And iirc you can't kill Two-Eyed Prim. I never tried but I saw Josh's talk about faction leadres where he explained how the game handles the killing of faction heads. Two-Eyed Prim is intentionally silly of course.

  25. Sink them instead. Its usually easy if you know what you're doing (and preferably bought Royal Bronzer cannons + a Dhow ship). Also, only recruit either masters at the craft (mainly if you have that Berath's Blessing) - or sailors with 1 star only. Focus one area of activity hard, particularly on cannoneers (meaning, don't get any stars in other jobs). That way you can target bounties like 10 levels above you, with great loot and rewards.

  26. This is a great idea and I am all about transporting big quantities of water, however all standing water currently in the game has the prefix 'nasty'. If we had a way to filter water, or perhaps there was a game mechanic that produced more than a drop of fresh water at a time (rainstorms, turning on the sprinkler, tapping a garden hose, etc), then this idea would be a must have. If this came to pass, I'd like to be able to add lilypad wax to blueprints (mainly floors and walls, possibly foundations and ceilings) to make them waterproof. Then we could create our own pools of fresh water.

  27. Loosing enchanting means loosing a lots of small buff, especially DAoM which basically allows you to do MORE STUFF. Loosing conjuration means loosing summon. Loosing evocation means loosing the ultimate Tier 9 AoEs... etc... It's not just about loosing a couple of cheese, I think. In addition there is this slight recovery penalty... Not much but adds up. That's why having bad special abilities feel wrong. But here we face a very subjective line between what is good, what could have been better and what is meh (and my perception is very influenced by what I've modded...), so... Ancestor's Memory from a Cipher buddy is the key here. Restoring a spell up to Tier 9 every 6s is kind of broken but it is the strongest uses of pure casters for long battles. But yes, it requires party support, from a class specialized in long battles. The key issue there is that (Mega)bosses battles are just poorly balanced compared to the rest of the game, in that they heavily favor a couple of classes (Chanters, support Ciphers) or subclasses (Blood Mage and Tactician) with infinite ressource.

  28. I think the Internet is mostly unfair about Conjurers. There is even a glitch that causes the familiar bonus to last forever, if it lasts its total duration or (not sure) if another thing is summoned. +1 stackable PL is a super rare bonus. Enchanters, Illusionists and Transmuters are really meh in my opinion. Which doesn't help Wiz subclasses is that one of them is OP (bloody blood picker). Bloodmages OP Base Wiz and Evokers balanced Conjurer is balanced because an anti synergy and a glitch Transmuters, Illusionists and Enchanters are meh. Wizard as a whole is a super solid class, so even the meh choices are good enough.

  29. It's a great weapon, and it's a lot of fun when you crit and set off the stacks of static thunder in a big, impactful AOE explosion. The key word here is crit, of course, so you want to boost your crit chance as much as possible. This is the reason why you want to go with berserker, and the brute is probably the best build, so you get the intuitive inspiration as well. You may want to also use either luminous lobster or captain's banquet foods, or svef, to make you immune to berserker confusion and also to resist distraction from pesky rogues and bosses with persistent distraction, who will otherwise kill your intuitive inspiration. Monk is fun however when you get swift strike/heartbeat drumming cascades, but the brute is a bit sturdier and reliable IMO.

  30. In the past two months, I've spent a lot of hours coming up with a concept and variations of it for a project at work. Countless meetings and time spent writing documentation, messaging back and forth with the entire team. Hours upon hours of work. Yesterday we presented the options and costs to the management. For a while it was really touch and go, and then... we went all out, argued with all we had and then... management cancelled it.

  32. single-class wizard is brutally powerful in end game, if you survive that long early on you may run out of spells, true. i recommend a good bow or something. cast some conjured weapons, they will give you lots of juice as you run low on spells (and all of the wizard ones are either ranged or have reach, which is great for a wizard's longevity). fassina gets extra long summoned weapons as a conjurer (no chill fog or slicken though).
