Im not sure Id encourage my "friend" to beta test something they would stick their junk into. Should probably wait for it to be fully vetted.2 points

@Gfted1 It's getting close! https://www.bbc.com/news/av/technology-57660603 "A prototype flying car has completed a 35-minute flight between international airports in Nitra and Bratislava, Slovakia. The hybrid car-aircraft, AirCar, is equipped with a BMW engine and runs on regular petrol-pump fuel. Its creator, Prof Stefan Klein, said it could fly about 1,000km (600 miles), at a height of 8,200ft (2,500m), and had clocked up 40 hours in the air so far."2 points

Love Live! has so far turned out to be much less of a disaster than I thought. Still need to finish that one too, but I'm not really in the mood for the sort of metaphor filled thematic exploration that's crammed into it right now. At least I think that's what's going on. It could also really only just be an anime about fighting sword duels over a woman in a duelling ring underneath an upside down castle, sitting atop an unsupported, almost endless spiral stairway, that sometimes features surfing elephants, exploding curry, boxing kangaroos and bowling balls. You forgot Devilman Crybaby on your list, why? edit: My head's been pretty abuzz with all sorts of crap these days, so I'm perhaps finding Love Live! relaxing in its simplistic silliness as an added bonus over the heavier stuff that I've been watching recently (as much as I loved watching Violet Evergarden, it's not a fun distraction), and Clear Card really failed me there. edit 2: While Kill la Kill is pretty funny too, it's so over the top and over... overflowing with insanity that it's really stressful to watch. Everyone's always yelling, has motor mouth syndrome that makes the subtitles zip by, the story's a convoluted mess and it's at times giving JoJo's a run for its money in pure nonsensical bizareness, and that takes some doing.1 point

Yeah, I'm done with Ranma, preeetty sure. At least for the time being - maybe I'll return someday in the future after memories of what I particularly liked about the first season have faded a little and if I'm in the mood for some insane 80s shonen that I liked at one point, . So that just means I have...Cardcaptor Sakura, Cowbop Bebop, Cardcaptor Sakura, Future Boy Conan, Cardcaptor Sakura, One Punch Man, Cardcaptor Sakura, Revolutionary Girl Utena, Cardcaptor Sakura, Gunbuster, Cardcaptor Sakura, Nadia: The Secret of Blue Water, Cardcaptor Sakura, Adventures of Gamba, Cardcaptor Sakura, Jojo's Bizarre Adventure, Cardcaptor Sakura, Heidi: Girl of the Alps, Cardcaptor Sakura, Cardcaptor Sakura, Cardcaptor Sakura, Cardcaptor Sakura. ... And now I will be starting Love Live! Wow, I really hate this - wish I had something better to watch!1 point

Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Card. Currently watching an episode, very quick update. It's episode 11 and the first real, laugh out loud moment: Look guys, you apparently still can do it, now make everything else like that too and I can forgive you for the animation. Not so much for the 10 prior episodes of middling quality. edit: This one and the prior episode directly reference the events of the second Cardcaptor Sakura film, where one of the central elements is directly contradicted by even earlier Clear Card episodes. This is definitely deliberate. Something's going on, and that had better be part of the storyline, or else I'm going to be really disappointed. More than I already am. That's probably right, but hard to judge. The drop in quality with Clear Card isn't this extreme, I think. For all intents and purposes, it is still Cardcaptor Sakura, the elements are all there, it's just the rather hard to quantify magical feeling that's gone. Ranma 1/2 seems to have turned into something completely different there. Clear Card is like falling out of love. I... uhm... that's a strange way to put it, but accurate, but words fail me when I try to describe what's wrong with it. Clear Card is the Majora's Mask to the older anime's Ocarina of Time. It's not a bad game, has decent ideas, but compared to its sequel it just lacks that special something. Although, in retrospect, Majora's Mask was a pretty good game, it just had to live up to something impossible. Clear Card isn't as good as Majora's Mask was, but it too fails to live up, and that too was probably impossible to achieve. Sometimes the stars just align right, don't they, and something is the perfect thing at the perfect time. Also: Stop watching unmitigated disasters (yes, I am fully aware of the hypocrisy of that statement) and watch something better, or else I'm going to post unmarked Cardcaptor Sakura spoilers until you do. Here's the first one: Sakura really likes Yukito.1 point

Riders of Justice - rented via Amazon ---Liam's latest may have disappointed me but Mads Mikkelsen did not! I watched subtitled, there is a dubbed version for rent. Trailer and description are going to make it sound like a Taken-style revenge action movie, but it's much more chr. based than a US film. Barely any action (by US standards...) and what there is is short and to the point (vs. Hollywood's stylized/drawn out style), which I rather liked. Is also darkly humorous in spots. It's not a masterpiece, but enjoyable and I liked it. Another Round - rented via Amazon (only 99 cents!) ---this was in my list for a while. Finally got around to it. Apparently it won a bunch of awards. I think it deserved them. What a great little drama film. Relatable, sad, funny, uplifting. That's all I feel like saying about it, there are plenty of reviews/descriptions around. ---apparently Leo DiCaprio is already slated for the US redo of it. Leo's no Mads, but I can sort of see him in the role, actually, but ... sigh. Whatever. My opinion, at least see the original first, if you haven't already.1 point

Employees are quitting rather than going back to the office well, that’s sort of what I did. Although if I could’ve gone back to the same office I used to work in I would have. The new office was in southern Memphis. Who the hell needs that? to tell you the truth so I would’ve thought the last year would’ve demonstrated the economic value of a remote workforce. Offices are cost. First the rental is usually by the square foot. There is electricity, cleaning service, cafeteria/commissary, and your workforce is usually only productive during the hours they are in the office. Working from home literally turns them home into the workplace. Anytime they are there they are working. Productivity goes up and it cost you less to get it. People working from home by their own coffee and provide their own electricity and internet connection. You are paying less for each productive hours and getting more hours from them. And they thank you for doing it! To me it’s a no-brainer.1 point

This game's great for taking lovely screenies; no cats so far, though, so I doubt I can sell @LadyCrimsonon it. Pretty decent puzzle variety so far, though I do hope they get more challenging. I did get stuck on 1 puzzle for a bit, but that was down to my own hubris; I thought I figured the puzzle out before I even saw all the clues and then when my "solution" failed, I was so sure I was right that it took time to rewire my brain to see the actual solution.1 point

It seems to be a linguistic map, not a tribal map. Edit: I guess the correct term would be political or nation map, rather than tribal. I always have to spend time explaining the difference between the settled civilizations of the Aztec and Maya and the migratory nature of the groups in the north.1 point

The problem is there's no real dates listed, so it seems more generically representational than representative of an actual historical period. I'd imagine the Apalachee, Miccosuke, Alabama and others are being lumped into the Creek/Creek Confederacy area. They don't have the Tunica either, but maybe they're lumping them in with the Biloxi because they're linked in modern day. The map also doesn't list the peoples that De Sota met/wiped out that merged with/became the Choctaw either.1 point

Oh God here I go again. I just can’t help myself. THE SEMINOLE WERE NOT IN FLORIDA! Not until the treaty that ended the first war in the 1820s. THEN they moved down into central Florida. Then South Florida after kicking the army’s ass in the next wars. They lost eventually and ended up in Big Cypress which kind of sucked for the Miccosooke who were already there. Speaking of which where are they on this map? Don’t see the Apalachees either! Nor the Chicks! NOT HISTORICALLY ACCURATE. i’m sorry guys. I’m so ashamed but I just can’t help myself.1 point

It is in my class. Technically we divide it up into more units over a couple years of teaching history. Aztec and Maya get their own lessons. Caribbean and the Gulf of Mexico blend with the Age of Exploration, and the Northeastern stuff is all separate. In California, we also focus specifically on the California tribes at one point.1 point

the answer to your first few questions are indeed, chanter, chanter. Troubadour if you want chanter on ez mode i had an incredibly effective theurge (animist/skald) that is probably my favoritest multiclass i've done. i posted it in these forums, and also wrote it up here on gamefaqs (edit: here's the forum link which has a bit more discussion and explanation of how it comes together). i would also argue that compared to cipher or druid, chanters are uniquely positioned to excelling at single-classing - their top-end summons are bonkers, and upgraded el-nary is a huge DD spell against anyone not frost immune, and even the PEN invocation is situationally amazing. the tier 8/9 chants are also situationally good too. druids get maelstrom, but it can be a bit extremely same-y to spam that every fight (and i feel that druids suffer a bit too much like ciphers in lacking truly great set of tier 8/9 stuff; not that they're bad, but compared to the extra versatility and options you get from MC, a bit uninspiring).1 point

Thank you very much for this Isn't OnHit for weapons? I think OnDamaged is for being hit? The HealthPercentage is interesting - I've copied the Shod In Faith boots from MaxQuest's Spoils of Caed Nua mod. It seems to have a different way of doing things - a status effect is required by a script instead of the healthpercentage setting. And it has a "trigger" thing - I'm getting confused. What's all this about? I'm going to go back to your message and see if I can get it to work that way. Should it trigger an Ability on the enemy? It doesn't have a target...? ... and the Itemmod links to that instead of the status effect? It's pretty befuddling. Is there a guide for this somewhere? I'm not a beginner, but I'm not an expert. [edit]I can't make it work. My latest effort was this: Item -> ItemMod -> StatusEffect -> Attack The item appears and the text from my localization appears (ItemMod and StatusEffect). The effect doesn't appear to trigger at all. I even removed the health percentage to make it trigger off any damage, but nothing. Oh... should it be AttackTargetOnEvent... ? Reading your message, it's really interesting to consider - It should be possible to write a script that outputs items from a system of menus. Meh, I think it's too much work for me. Fun to consider, though.1 point

I can’t do first person anything.. Way too close up for me. Spiral stairs were cool when they first came out until I decided to build a staircase up to the birdbath. Let’s just say I dont use it much I agree haze needs some fog or it wouldn’t be the haze. Tier 2 mask that reduces the fog.. I feel the sunlight is more an issue for me where some days it is crystal clear and you can see across the map, other days the sun in so blinding you have to wait for some time to pass before you can do anything. Guess it does make it more realistic idk. Maybe we could craft some sunglasses on the super sunny days1 point

the name sounds familiar. am recalling obsidian had a diva developer who quit and then spent the next couple of years making increasingly venomous insinuations 'bout his former employer's malfeasance. didn't the developer in question have a similar grand revelation 'bout the wrongs done to him by his previous employer? am vague recalling an immature rant which we suspect were intended to have the aggrieved developer take the role of diogenes in his own imagined greek drama, but reality were underwhelming and as such we have difficulty recollecting much 'bout the guy save that regardless o' his accomplishments as a writer, am left with fuzzy memories not o' a tragic and heroic figure but o' a petulant bridge troll who chose to make his revelations from the depths o' a fetid bog, lamenting the injustices he suffered to the snarks and grumkins who lurked in the most stagnant and odious corner o' the gaming internet. but that were more than five years ago... oh well. am probable misremembering, but am not caring enough to revisit beyond this brief attempt at recalling an increasing insignificant display o' internet self immolation by a now marginal crpg developer. HA! Good Fun!1 point

Stats are ok. Personally I would go with lower resolve and higher int/per. For a melee monk Enduring Dance isn't worth investing because it won't last very long and doesn't stack with Exalted Focus. I would pick also Enervating Blows in order to keep my target afflicted and be able to drain health. Uncanny Luck is pretty worthless, it's better to pick Tough to compensate the low Con. Rooting Pain is free AoE damage and since you will generate wounds like crazy you should also pick it. Inspired Defenses doesn't help if you aren't a tank. Scion of Flame is good only if you pick Sacred Immolation and Brand Enemy (which are by the way very good choices for a monk/paladin since the monk can remove the self damage from Sacred Immolation using Clarity of Agony).1 point

The downfall of traditional movie posters is pretty despicable. There are many older movies whose conceptual poster(s) gave off such specific vibes and themes that they immediately interested me in watching them, and they were very often surprisingly accurate and true to that, making the artistry even more impressive. Sadly, even on the rare occasion I see art in a poster for something new(er), the artistry seems to simply no longer be there as it used to be. Oh well.1 point

Good news for trees. Or good tree news: Eighteen million trees to be planted around Glasgow Ghana planted 5 million trees in a single day to combat deforestation and climate change South Korea to Plant 3 Billion Trees to Help Reach Carbon Neutrality by 2050 Plus three years ago I planted three Bartlett Pear trees in my back yard. They are still too young for fruit but they are all in full bloom now, Very pretty!1 point

I dunno about that, many modern corporations seem attracted to the idea of doing business with socialist governments, should they let them in. China, for instance, remains a Marxist government but many many corporations across the world are attracted to Chinese investments like you know what, and even their richest entrepreneurs are members of the Communist Party. Seems like a natural evolution of socialism, the government remains firm in providing employment and services to its citizens and owning a good chunk of the economy, but businesses also being allowed to flourish so long as they follow government protocol and don't "rise above" the state, like western governments where corporations seem to own all aspects of society, especially politicians.1 point

I've seen Zilbest's tutorial which is helpful but there are 1400 lines of code on the item I'm looking at (an item from the Reliquary mod) and it's hard to even skim through it all to see what really needs to be changed. Anyone have any notes or guides on making a badass weapon with flames and special powers? I'm sure everyone wants to make new items, and if we don't make it easily understandable, then we'll never reach peak animu mod culture for this game.1 point
