Actually... after thinking about it some more. I think it's because they didn't have any women in boob plate armour on the front. The sales probably would have shot up if they had a few barely clothed elves on the adverts and posters and what not.9 points

Going to the vet now to have him check my toe. People doctors are never around in zombie apocalypse tales, when you really need them, so might as well get used to the doc who will.2 points

I would recommend you Stasis and Cayne for point and clicking If you are into horrors and you are not bothered by some "unpleasant" gory stuff. Stasis was free on GOG. Cayne still is. It took me around 14 hours to get through both of them. If you are not sure, if that could be your cup of tea, feel free to check my YT channel in my signature (yes, yes, shameless self-promotion ) If you are more into comedy, I would recommend Deponia series. Or if you are active on GOG forums, there is in one giveaway 3 copies of Whispered World Special Edition, which are still not not taken for more than 3 or 4 months. https://www.gog.com/forum/general/the_community_giveaway_gog_edition_redux/page12 points

This is a very polished game - there are a small amount of scripting errors, that's about it. Virtually no broken quests, no crashes, etc. They clearly opted to produce a polished game with plenty of 'depth' in each area instead of a 'large content' game, and there's no reason not to play now if you are interested. The game should please anyone who liked Age of Decadence, although it's a very different beast, in fact. It will also please anyone who wanted TTON to be good (or, I guess, if you enjoyed TTON). It knocks most games out of the park without hesitation in terms of atmosphere and style. For me, the closest experience is actually the way I play P&P - the feeling of saying 'alright, I'm going to play a cop who's been beaten up one too many times by life and now decides to weather the storm through florid performances of SUPERSTAR coloured by disco nostalgia', then finding all the skills and choices that support this, seeing the entire game shaped through that, and then, the game throwing me enough new information, choices, emotional moments, where said character goes through some kind of change - perhaps to a more sombre man who begins to accept his failures, perhaps to a paranoid apocalypse obsessed cop, etc. It is pretty great.2 points

I received the quest from Ellie and as soon as I landed on Byzantium it was listed as botched. Any fix?1 point

My wife would, shes a starry eyed dreamer like me. My kid would probably keep it all. But I don't want no stinkin mine anyway. I wonder what it would cost to get a modest volcano lair off the ground?1 point

Indeed. That's the minimum skill you need to unlock those dialogue options. If you don't want to see them you can hide them via the game options menu.1 point

OH dear God no. Having no motivation is what's so brilliant. The whole point is you don't know who to really trust. It's much more like Dungeons and dragons table top. And if this game had a timer I'd quit it faster than you can say The Outer Worlds. As it is now, it's a traditional morale choice RPG game. Not many devs make these types of games. Which is why it sits so well with many people. It's my favourite RPG of the generation so far. I've currently clocked in nearly 50 hours and haven't finished it yet. Dialogue is amazing. The narrative Intriguing and the marality choices involving. I couldn't play past 20 hours of Fallout 4. It was so bland and moved away from RPG into a building/survival simulator. Which is a big big turn off for me.1 point

What is the rush? Can play? I play 2.5m of the 65 "TV and the subtitles are totally illegible. It only has English voices, and I am Spanish. I need to read the subtitles, and it is impossible for me. Because nobody from the Obsidian team stopped even a second to think that the subtitles were very small. That is to be very unprofessional. I need patch now!!!1 point

Really looking forward to this patch. I stopped playing when I encountered the 'Don't Bite the Sun' bug because I really want to continue Parvati's romance story before moving on. So, really looking forward to jumping back in after the patch. Also really looking forward to the increase in font sizes too but. like others have said above... I really hope it goes beyond the subtitles. Anyway, thank you guys! Your hard work is much appreciated!1 point

I don't think anybody truly saw this topping New Vegas. It's an ambitious game which was developed with a severely limited budget. Limited to the point that even the third person camera wasn't included. I'm just eager to see Obsidian really dial it up to 11 with follow up titles in the series. At this point I think it is clear that we're going to be getting a sequel at the bare minimum. The Outer Worlds feels like a solid foundation. Hopefully every aspect will get more time, money and attention with Microsoft's backing.1 point

That could be true. It is, after all, a well-known fact that the highly discerning and stupefyingly intelligent male species can be instantly and utterly transfixed by the simple geometrical combination of two circles and a triangle.1 point

Trubisky couldn't finish the game last night. A hip injury was hindering his throwing. So he's had that hip injury all season then?1 point

I know I'm late, but it's not specifically that I only play RPGs, but rather that survival games don't greatly appeal to me. I've played The Forest with friends when it was in Early Access and it was a fun experience, but I haven't really booted it up since then. However, again, it's no biggie, Obsidian's developers are probably gonna do better work and be happier people if they aren't chained to their desk with the expectation that they have to make RPGS ALL THE TIME.1 point

https://thehill.com/homenews/campaign/470861-biden-says-he-wont-legalize-marijuana-because-it-may-be-a-gateway-drug Biden's officially against legalizing marijuana due to it possibly being a "gateway drug". Well, I'm glad he said it out loud, because the Democratic voter base is pretty overwhelmingly in favor of it, so hopefully it hurts him. (e): Also, Trump tying a gubernatorial election to himself and saying that the Republican candidate losing would be a personal loss to him backfires once again, with both Kentucky and Louisiana electing Democratic governors this month. Fun stuff.1 point

Your stats are for loan application approvals, not what percentage or segment(s) of the population is able to get a loan or afford the terms of a loan. The closest your linked stats get is a 12% approval for new business, which isn't particularly encouraging to a ragged crew of would be employee-owners. And if your example of the mine was accurate, the $8 million in capital for the initial investment is 12 times that of the "average business loan" of 663k in 2017, which given that the average small business loan from a large firm is 493k and over half of business loans are for less than 100k seems to be evidence that large firm loans are in another league. Which all goes back to business owner(s) of a mine having an ability to eat it that a small business loan applicant doesn't due to higher capital or state assistance, effectively making their risk significantly less relative to wealth than it would be for eighty guys who work in the mines (average salary for US miners is $63K) taking out $100k loans. Thus the huge risk is not so huge for someone like Freeport-McMoRan.1 point

A very insightful point. Thx! I think this mattered more than expected.1 point

I had one marauder chase me 50m and then stop and run back to his spawn point, bend down inspecting the ground (which was his original behaviour)... Like nothing had ever happened. it just takes you out of the experience is all. It sucks. it is what it is.... but the game is good in other areas... namely the dialog.1 point

I just want to be able to do the Parvati companion quest. I am annoyed that it was marked as botched when I had not done anything for this to have been marked as such. They just need to release the patch or at least give a proper timeline of when they would actually release it.1 point

Well, now i really want to play a game set in Eora in which you create and maintain a shop of animancy powered bikes A tactical game set in Eora (similar to Xcom, but with RtWP apart from TB) would also be amazing. Thanks a lot for the links.1 point

Exactly, as it was in Fallout games. The sooner people realize this the better. I've not noticed anything out of the ordinary with the AI. They certainly do follow/chase me around but I haven't measured the distance that they stop and turn around either. The story and characters are what make TOW's, the gameplay mechanics take a backseat to that.1 point

It's already been said, but just to second this: I'm not a fan of survival games, but Subnautica is absolutely sublime.1 point

Will the font size increase include the menu / user interface? The issue isn’t limited to just conversations/subtitles, as your note indicates. Almost anything involving words is difficult to read. If not, PLEASE consider revisiting all font sizes. Not just subtitles.1 point
-
Yay! But I hope the font size increase is for more than just the subtitles. Some of the text in the menus is even smaller than the subtitles. Eventually, this game will be on Microsoft's xCloud service and people will play it on their phones, so the text will be even harder to read than this.1 point
