  1. Shouldn't it be called "Stereo" instead of "Monos"?

  2. Small cucumbers are by far and large the most popular choice for salt brining here. Everything else gets pickled in (spiced) vinegar. Most of our home grown vegetables are used fresh. Mom makes jam from whatever berries or fruits are currently available: apricots, blackberries, strawberries, raspberries, sometimes gooseberries and most of all red and white currant. Red currant jam in particular makes for a wonderful ingredient in sweets. It retains a slightly sour flavour and works to create a fine balance. Great, now I'm hungry.

  8. Sure, but changing the current TB system to an ATB one would easily make it quite balanced. It might have been too complicated for a mere PoE2 optional mode but it would be doable for PoE3.

  11. Many people seem to run into various problems with Aloth, though never had the same experience. He tends to sit exactly where I would expect him to, depending on what character I roleplay. He and Eder had both positive, and negative relationships, depending on my playthrough. And yeah, the last thing I would say about Aloth is that he was ever laid back.

  15. Such beautiful outfits! Imo, coyotes are similar to bus drivers. They aren't forcing anyone to immigrate, they just collect a fee and drive a few miles over the border. Otherwise these poor troubled souls could get lost in the hot hot desert or drown in the Rio Grande. They are truly doing gods work for those that cannot. "Gas, grass or ass, but nobody rides free."

  16. K Its a damn shame illegal immigration isn't really illegal, but driving them across the border is. That must really harsh a lot of future patriots. So sad. We should probably just make it legal too so we don't have to bother to prosecute them.

  17. You play on official? Not sure if I could stand that given my building urges... I just dabbled on official to compare it to the latency on my own server. Bearers do less damage than fighters though (didn't use to, but they got the nerfbat to the face once word about that got out), not sure whether their armour values got reduced, if they were then that extra HP might not count for as much (and even a naked NPC has some armour as that's what the multipliers work with). Generally speaking Thralls are the answer to every problem, if you can get them to actually fight as the AI is derpy as all hell. Haven't bothered with pets (got one from the cave my base is pretty much on top of), but they generally don't have a lot of armour and judging from what I've seen their AI is generally even worse than Thrall AI, so a Thrall with decent equipment will always outperform them (ofc, they're probably great early game, before you get access to all the good stuff), especially against armoured targets, I would imagine (so most humanoids). Might go back and see how a Thrall fares against the Arena Champion. Fwiw, I was using a T3 Sepermeru (Relic Hunter) Thrall in full Silent Legion with the Doom hammer (and then the Worldbreaker, once that dropped). The Named minibosses that can be enthralled are considered T4 Thralls btw and, if not counting Purge thralls, they have the best stats for their faction (crafters craft faster, use less resources, and often get special recipes. Eg. white/black dye for Purge Alchemist) Still, kinda proud of myself that I cleared most everything (until this dungeon), without using Thralls (eh, I did skip the dagger boss in the Dagon dungeon, that guy was just ridiculous). Wouldn't recommend it though and I might go back and see how much pain I could've saved myself by using a Thrall

  18. Being in a nostalgic mood today, I guess this thread got resurrected just in time My first two purchased games were for the Commodore 64 (in 1983). A cartridge with a game of two vs two soccer. Aptly named International Soccer by Commodore. The other game was called Beach Head, published by a big name of the time, called 'US Gold'. Took my a bit to get through all the levels. I remember some frustrating late nights trying to dodge tank traps when getting my tanks off the beach. The game I spent to most time on until the age of MMO's was a game called 'Doomdarks Revenge'. It was a hybrid of a strategy game and a crpg. You started out with 4 heroes and their armies in a "fake" 3D world. No mean feat in 1985 or thereabouts. In my book, the best game ever made. Forbidden Forest was a game that managed something no other game ever did since, not even the Penumbra games, it sent a chill down my spine and gave me bad cases of goosebumps. The pacing of the building up the difficulty, the increasing darkness and tempo of the music was just genius. Elite was a class of it's own. A decent port from the Acorn BBC computer, I spent months doing trading, smuggling, getting chased by Thargoids and cursing the malfunctioning drive that left me stranded light years from the nearest system. Nato Commander by Microprose. My brother and I spend waaay too many nights sitting up and playing this, being complete wrecks the day after at school/work On the Commodore Amiga, the biggest time sink was probably a shareware game called Mechforce. A brilliant adaptation of FASA's (the IP holder at the time) Battle Mech. Turn based combat goodness with environment effects, including destructible terrain. Speaking of the latter, X-Com 3: Apocalypse share the spot with Jagged Alliance 2 in turn based combat done right. Including clever use (and destruction) of terrain and terrain effects. Master of Orion 2. Nuff said. Just my $0,25 In the 1980's, there were so many great games by EA and US Gold, as well as Epyx (Jumpman and the Summer Games franchise), it was just impossible to pay tribute to them all.

  19. Yeah, I've never had salt brined peppers but other garden veggies can be quite good prepared like that. My grandma and great uncle would do that quite a bit but they almost always pickled hot peppers in vinegar. They either pickled them or they'd make a jam with strawberries, or with mulberries, or whatever else we had available, and even occasionally just the peppers on their own.

  21. One of those times where the flowers end up making a double-fruit. The tomatoes themselves are maybe 1.5 to 2 inches wide. Larger than cherry in stores, but still pretty small. They grow this way. Apparently a lot of peppers do, but it's the first time I've seen one. I laughed pretty hard when I first saw it. Not sure of the variety name. I kept asking hubby but then I forget so I stopped asking. There are three hot pepper plants. The oldest one survived a winter and has barely any leaves ( a few on top) but determinedly keeps producing tons of large peppers anyway. Hubby tried pickling some in mostly a salt brine or something. They stunk and I didn't touch them. I'll stick to the store bought pickled jalapenos until/unless he does something similar. He grew up with relatives who did lots of canning/jarring so he wants to try it I guess. There's baby cucumbers growing too. He's just experimenting at this point, mostly. But a year or two from now I expect him to till up and take over half the lawn space or something. Hah.

  22. Read a book called Scott and Amundsen: The Last Place on Earth by Roland Huntford. Very interesting read on the lifes of Roald Amundsen and Robert Scott, culiminating in their race to the south pole. Huntford attempts to deconstruct the Scott hero myth that started after his death. The book shows how unfair history has been to Amundsen, who while being flawed, in truth should be remembered as one the greatest polar explorer of all time. He was the first to reach the south pole, first to pass through the North-west passage, and later the first to reach the North pole by plane. The amount of preperation and training he did for all of this is pretty damn impressing, including living with and learning from the Netsilik inuit people. Scott on the other hand, was remembered as a great British hero - but is in the book presented as largely incompetent. Huntford uses Scott's diaries, and the diaries of his men, to present a terrible leader who saw enemies in everyone (he detested Shackleton), always made up excuses, and complained about bad luck (which Amundsen would call bad planning).

  23. Right. Then I either am being very stupid or have some sort of problem, because it did not let me do that. I have plenty of legendary items. I choose to keep the items (which made Llengrath miffed - I felt rather guilty about that actually, the first time) and the godseeds remained quest items in my inverntory and there was no option to craft to mythic in the enchanting menu. So, let me, for the sake of arguement, walk through this (and then, if I'm not doing something stupid, I have something to take to the bug report thread.) Fortunately, being a clever sort of Lich, I have the appropriate save. (Of course, I gave up, gave the seeds to Llengrath, seeing as no-one had any answers and I carried on from this for several hours into Beast of Winter before making the mistake of buying Stardew Valley as it was on sale and thinking it would be a nice little time killer and not that it was so damned addictive and thus halting my playthrough...!) So, pre-quest completion: Godseed in quest items. Talk to Llengrath: Picking the quickest "no tou can't have it" option for expediency (when I did it proper-like, I went through all the dialogue). Upset poor Llengrath... No option to enchant... ... Still in the quest items. The only thing I can think of that I might be doing wrong is if you can somehow give her the items and take them back off her, but from what I recall, if you give them to her, she just goes "ace! Ta very much!" and quest completed. On the plus-ish side, my terribly Lawful Good-ish watcher doesn't feel guilty about upsetting her by not giving them to her. For some reason, no idea why, her reaction felt like kicking a puppy and I don't even know why! (I mean, most of the time I have no particular puppy-kicking objections, not being A Pet person...!)

  24. It is not possible to join the Circle within the Forgotten Sanctum DLC. We tried to balance "The player, especially if they're a wizard, should be able to ask about joining" against "There's no way we can actually support that in the development time we have." It's possible we didn't balance it as well as we could have. (I do really like that a non-Wizard player can ask Llengrath about joining and she's like "uh... you're not a mage, much less an archmage.")
