  2. Was never a fan of Led Zeppelin live as Jimmy Page tended to be much too casual and loose for my taste, but bloody hell this is good. I'd be willing to bet that the galloping bassline here was a major inspiration for Steve Harris and Iron Maiden in general.

  7. Hubby's got an extra long weekend and we're contemplating buying/playing Tiny Tina's Wonderlands during it. A game I'll likely find a bit annoying/disappointing and wouldn't care to buy/play it solo, but where playing it with your spouse might make it relatively awesome despite that. At least it's several bucks cheaper for its Steam-release intro period. Also: Hubby drives/runs down to the other house to do some junk-yarding/deal with a neighbor/fence issue: I expected him to be gone overnight. Hubby calls me same afternoon: "I'm done, want to come home, leaving now." - eg he finished quickly and just wanted to get back vs. waiting until morning/better traffic to drive. Hubby later that evening: "Home is where the wife is." "Growing old together" ... yeah, I, at least, am loving it.

  9. I did get maybe around 30-40 hours out of FO4, and I never even engaged with the settlement mechanic. It was only natural to not do so: I mean, the way the game sets it up, you've just set off on your big quest, and in the first town you go to, you meet some NPCs and you're supposed to go with them back to where you started? How does that structure even make the slightest sense narratively? It'd be like going straight back to the Vault after reaching Shady Sands in FO1. So yeah, I never went back so I never even learned how the base building even worked. Doesn't help I think that as a non-American, I can't think of a single thing about Boston other than it exists. So there was no sense of place at all as I trekked through what was for me, the ruins of a completely generic city. So much so that my entire experience was basically ended within a few hours of leaving Diamond City (which was okay, the best part of the game's low standards) because all I could see besides Diamond City was generic bombed out ruins. Just the traditional Bethesda thing of misunderstanding Fallout and setting it as if it was 20 years after the bombs fell, and not 200.

  10. Despite their flaws, I always end up enjoying Bethesda games and getting a decent chunk of hours into them. The exception is Fallout 76, but Starfield seems light years better than that train wreck, so that's good.

  18. Claimed Air defense identification zones in East China Sea China imposes requirements for all civilian and military aircraft regardless of destination that fly over areas they claim Japan does not make any demands for aircrafts flying over their zone except if they are planning to land in Japan. China and Russia don't recognize Japan's ADIZ. South Korea had plans to extend their zone south after China's extended its zone go over Socotra Rock, which South Korea and China have dispute over, but at least for now have dropped those plans after USA persuaded them not to make such extension Taiwan's ADIZ was established in 1950s, which it extends over continent China and why China these days constantly flies it military planes there . But anyway China's territorial rights over Taiwan's airspace aren't currently recolonized by anyone including China itself EDIT: It seems that Russia hit shopping mall with one of their missiles. According to Ukraine official there lots of civilians in it and they currently aren't able to estimate how many died EDIT2: Reuters updated their article there are at least 2 dead and 20 wounded. https://www.reuters.com/world/europe/russian-missiles-hit-crowded-shopping-mall-central-ukraine-zelenskiy-2022-06-27/

  19. Er lol. Israel is absolute worst example to bring up. Unless you mean its a shame Syria and Lebanon don't shoot down every Israeli jet flying illegally through their airspace, because especially for Lebanon that is pretty much constant and absolutely 100% deliberate. Not even mentioning the complete lack of western sanctions for the persistent mistreatment of Palestinians, nor for the illegal annexations. Indeed, the US blithely recognised those, while pontificating about the 'rules based order'. The only thing Israel illustrates is "Rules for thee, but not for me" and "Might makes Right". For that matter, do we really want the Chinese to decide to start enforcing their territorial rights- as recognised by pretty much everyone- around Taiwan? Maybe, say, prevent arms smuggling from enemy powers to rebels? Or maybe Syria to shoot down all those western jets flying through its airspace. And there is the small matter of the US drones that have spent the last 20 years wandering around countries' airspace blowing their citizens up randomly. I may on occasion harp on slightly about hypocrisy and no one knowing the extent of the west's suffering; that ain't even low hanging fruit- it's having a crate picked for you and left on your doorstep.

  27. Some games you play for 10 hours or less and you feel like it was a worthwhile experience, others, you play for 40 and feel like you wasted your time. I don't think time spent makes a game good or bad. Unfortunately I spent a ton of time on settlement building and it really makes no difference to the story. I also chose to side with the minutemen because all the factions were dumb. Which really just means I got the worst outcome. The point you make about the city feeling generic is accurate. It didn't feel like a nuke went off, it felt like you were in modern day Detroit or Syria

  28. Seems like The Times bar chart shenanigans is because the data on the iPad app showed a different question for the same chart the print version had which looks a bit more normal. I guess the 25% is for ALL voters, not just for Tory voters. Not sure how this happens, but figure that the process of putting numbers/charts is probably more manual (and prone to a mistake happening) than I originally thought haha.

  29. Not prying at all. It's 23 bucks for the net. 5gb/1gb is 52 dollars and 10gb/1gb is 61 dollars. The biggest packet they offer is 10gb net TV with 190+ channels (missing the whole discovery family) and phone for 64 dollars. But this is a small provider so they are very aggressive with their offers. A normal big IPS that costs 36 dollars for 1gb/200mb, their biggest pack is for 91 dollars and you get 1gb/200mb net, unlimited mobile (net and calls) and 3gb international mobile net, unlimited land line and over 250 tv channels, plus some paid apps. edit: what I payed for before is 31 dollars for tv 200+ channels and 120mb/15mb net (via coax).

  31. keep in mind miranda is alive and well; evidence illegal obtained in violation o' miranda will continue to be excluded. however, miranda is a due process implied right, so if justice thomas gets his way, it will be reexamined and obliterated. even so, this is yet another example o' Congress failing to address an obvious problem, 'cause while there is indeed a statute which identifies fed agents violating fed rules and laws exposes the agent to civil liability, the current Court is making clear that judicial decisions don't count as fed rules and laws... unless the Court specific carves out an exception. sovereign immunity is the Rule, and unless Congress (or in rare cases, the Court) creates an exception, the crown/government cannot be sued. perhaps you recall a similar issue came up with the recent warrantless search of a property on the border 'tween the US and kanada? weren't 'bout exclusion o' evidence but rather 'bout capacity to sue the bad agent... an agent who were fired btw. Congress could quite easily amend §1983 to fix this issue, but at the moment, with stoopid levels o' polarization, ez is much more difficult than it should be. HA! Good Fun!

  34. yeah, we were aware o' the plagiarism accusations. had a university roommate who raged 'bout such frequent... keep in mid our university were late 80s. am thinking such criticisms is justified. the thing is, we were introduced to zeppelin via their blues stuff and for a number o' years we viewed zeppelin in the context o' being perhaps the whitest blues cover band evar (although the stones are serious challengers to the title,) so learning their other stuff were no more original perhaps bothered us a bit less than it shoulda'. HA! Good Fun!

  35. I agree it's underrated. Nobody's Fault But Mine is an excellent song. Like Black Dog, it's one of those where good interplay is essential, as it's stop-start almost all the way. I haven't played Nobody's Fault But Mine but I have played Black Dog, on the drums, on stage, and it's good fun. Also quite hard to get right because of its stop-start nature. Much harder than just listening to it would suggest. Incidentally, have you seen this? I think it's quite disappointing. Apparently, the first Led Zeppelin album only contains one song that they wrote themselves (Good Times Bad Times). All the rest are at least very heavily influenced by other songs, if not outright plagiarized from original sources.

  36. Disagree. It wasn't personal time. Just because a game is ended doesn't mean the employee's obligation to their employer, in this case, the state has ended. Nor does it mean that the state owned facility is suddenly not state owned. Further as an authority figure, there are probably many who feel unable to refuse to participate when it became a public gathering since he chose to offer his prayer not in private, but in public in the state owned facility.

  38. Supreme Court rules for coach whose prayers on football field raised questions about church-state separation SCOTUS got this one right. I really thought they would get Kagan to swing to the majority on this one. It went 6-3. I was expecting 7-2. Oh well. Didn't read any of the reasoning yet but seems like the right outcome. The separation of Church and State should not empower the extermination of voluntary public religious expression on personal time just because the individual involved happens to be a state employee.

  39. Watched the five "OAD's" (whatever that stands for) of Tensura Nikki. I'll save @majestic's eyesight and not post pictures or clips of the swimsuit episode. It was funny though. Rimuru had taught the dwarven craftsmen how to make spandex and the tailors how to make bikinis of it. Lots of skin showing and Rimuru is really enjoying himself... until the guys shows up and start posing in their budgie smugglers on the beach The latter episodes elaborating on the life of the academy students (the ones Rimuru promised Shizu on her death bed, he would take care of). Teaching, training, good fun. Last episode ends up with the kids trapped in a training dungeon. They arrived earlier than planned and stumbled upon things best not stumbled upon. An undead character (Specter Lord of some such) and his human bandit henchmen wants to kill the 5 kids. The kids easily takes care of the bandits, but the undead boss is another league altogether. As he's about to kill the kids (which I suppose is something undead lords do for kicks), rescue arrives from an unexpected corner. A demon lord (which I know from watching youtube is "Diablo", aka the black primogenitor demon lord, aka 'Noir') says he wants to pay some respect to Shizu (which he met in combat in the last episode of season 1). Saving the kids from certain death ought to do. Then proceeds to completely wipe the floor with the undead lord and humiliate him a bit extra just for good measure. Basically dismembering him first, locking his head in a vice grip and then tear out his innards through his back while he dies screaming. Nothing like good role models for the kids Will rewatch the first episodes of season 2 and share (if I feel it worth sharing) later

  40. Bad news, I changed my mind and went to watch Racoonatouille and Paddington 2. Oh, I mean: Everything Everywhere at Once Crazy and silly, but I agree with @KP wants Blue Velvetand @Sarex, it's a pretty good movie, including the moments it was being serious. It was more than two hours, but when it was over that was not my impression. Just don't ask me about the hot dog universe. Come on, I said above that in an infinite universe, everything should be possible somewhere, but this? This may be too much. And it actually serves a purpose in the story, becoming relevant when Evelyn needs it. And there are worse offenders, that @majestic mentioned in his post. The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent I enjoyed this one too. It is mostly a comedy, but everything is done well: the action scenes, making fun of Nicholas Cage and the acting too. I could point out some plot holes, but who cares, they are nothing that grabbed my attention for more than a moment.

  44. The scorched earth approach Russia has taken means that even the pro-Russian people of those areas will never return to live there while the areas are under Russian occupation, because there will be very minimal rebuilding. Even after the war somehow "ends," nobody will be investing in Russia itself let alone these devastated areas. They will simply be areas of minefields, barbed wire, and defensive fortifications occupied by Russian reservists. And Western sanctions on Russia will not end.

Any summon that dies grants you Hardy inspiration which stacks with any other armor buff (including Hardy inspiration from another source). The Immunity to constitution afflictions is also nice to have if you plan to use Hylea's Boon to achieve the highest defenses.
