It's probably intended for internal digestion, so Putin can redirect passions over the struggling war effort to an external factor.3 points

I had an over easy egg with ketchup and a slice of toast. Green onions and scallions are the same plant but I think spring onions are a different plant. E: I just looked it up and it says green onions are traditionally more mature and scallions being the same plant just younger but nowadays it's mostly just how whoever labels them wants to call them. E2: Spring onions have a bigger bulb2 points

Good old fashioned greasy breakfast with scrambled eggs and sausage. A nice benefit of living in the south is that it's easy to find good breakfast sausage. Back when I lived in Connecticut we did have sausage from local farms and it was better than the Jimmy Dean sausage you can find in any supermarket anywhere in the country, but nowhere near as good as the breakfast sausage I get here. Southerners just know how to make breakfast sausage better. Some green onion stems (or chives) chopped up make all the difference in scrambled eggs. I also like to undercook the eggs a bit and leave them a tiny bit runny, that's something I picked up from mom. Question: Are green onions and scallions just different names for the same thing or are they different vegetables? I've heard it both ways and seen it both ways on the internet, so I'm confused.2 points

Some nuclear weapons proliferation experts (academics) have also now said this publicly. The claim is that two of the sixteen P-1000 Vulkan anti-ship missiles had nuclear warheads, which was standard practice during Cold War deployments.2 points

Can you guys think of one country since the end of the Cold War that has constantly and unashamedly been guilty of the level of misinformation that we are seeing from Russia. I use to think China was the worst with fake news but Russia has surpassed China now since the Ukraine invasion " the US is building biological labs in Mongolia " And the funniest part is people believing it and repeating it. At least we not seeing that much on this forum anymore, the last time was people cheerleading the invasion because of the " denazification " of Ukraine2 points

Finished Ergo Proxy. The ending was full of revelations, biblical and otherwise A great story. I might have binge watched it a bit too much at times, so little details go lost. I think I've going to re-watch it from the beginning and use my knowledge of the background to pay more attention to the countless little details I missed along the way. Like why some proxies destroyed their own domes, why did Romdeau nuke Mosk? What was that about humans somewhere in space, were they supposed to come back to Earth some day etc. Dozens upon dozens of little detail I hope to pick up during a second watching of the show. Edit: don't get me started on clones and is there a connection between Monad Proxy and Re-l, between Proxy One and Ergo Proxy, so many questions... Edit2: Looks like a decent explanation of the plot: https://cureclover.livejournal.com/759.html2 points

You know what I've wanted to do? By an RV and spend the following twenty years or so living the gypsy life all over the US, Mexico, & Canada. Camp in State & National Parks, see everything there is to nee in North America from Cabo San Lucas to Newfoundland, Fairbanks to Key West. Like that old song:1 point

Oh, also ... beware of crazed/aggressive ol' Asian lady in a red wagon trying to stick close to her hubby's van/prevent anyone else (especially taller car else's) from changing lanes in front of her since she still doesn't have the route memorized and doesn't want to lose sight of that van.... I swear, you leave more than 10 feet between cars and people still try to force in (at 75mph+).1 point

we all thought it will be over long time ago. Just to point one thing. Russia does spend 50 and Ukraine 5. BUT a lot of that cash is pretty useless in current conflict. Do you know how much cost running nuclear subs? And all of them are complete waste in current conflict. As much as most of the Navy actually1 point

The question is, how much of that 50 billion ended up in military and how much ended up in the pockets of corrupt commanders1 point

Anyway, we have already online the response of Finland to Russian threats, if they join the NATO. First Russia released video with the movement of coastal complexes to the border. The day after, Finns released this video And of course, one of the Ukrainian's TVs have already made a report about it If nothing else, we should give Putin credit, for completely obliterating the prestige and fearsomness of Russian army, which Soviet Union and himself tried so much to build after WW21 point

Might be difficult in war, but not sure that'd change much. They're not going to use them on Russian forces - Western reaction to such an act would be interesting to see, and as a deterrent, is just two. For what it's worth1 point

I have found one hour long video analysis of the possible consequences of long term conflict for the "west", Ukraine and Russia. It was worth the watch, and it answered a lot of my questions (e.g. why Ruble is still so strong). I would hope that here is at least one or two economy savvy forumites, which will watch it whole and point out to his strong sides and flaws of his analysis, and share it with us, I would be very grateful1 point

I wouldn't be surprised if there was some Aralsk-7 like facility in Mongolia built by the Soviets, and the US financing a cleanup operation like they are with Aralsk-7.1 point

Not really, but something that is always bothering me is that the universal on kill effect of engoliero is lost when taking the soul blade upgrade. So in my opinion it should still be working universally when taking the upgrade (or not work at all but it’s supposed to be a mighty weapon so I guess it’s ok).1 point

Why the hell would the US build biological laboratories in mongolia.1 point

Isn’t the Maje interaction conditioning which “of the Lost” abilities you get e.g Chorus of the Lost? It doesn’t impact gift from the machine and effigy resentment. Then you automatically gain back gift from the machine and effigy resentment after Hasongo no matter your dispositions and choice in that interaction. Finally the 3 gods interactions dictate which “of death herald” ability you get - which @thelee and @Noqnand others summarized very nicely in various places.1 point

Been playing with a Sharpshooter dual wielding Current's Rush and Frostfall. Interestingly I'm noticing Frostfall's Frozen affliction being applied to targets that I am very obviously not hitting in melee, so it must be with the Scepter. But I also don't see it proccing off of my basic attacks with the scepter. I believe it is proccing off of the on crit AOE attack of Current's Rush.1 point

I'm going to take a break from Chinatown Detective Agency, or as I like to call it Where in Singapore is Carmen Sandiego? It's a fun game and I kind of like having to break out a piece of paper and a pen to figure out a cipher or my phone to do some research. This will surely alienate some players, but I grew up on drawing maps on graph paper for dungeon crawlers, so this is old hat. The game has some bugs, though. There are some major sound balancing issues and other minor annoyances. I'll wait for a patch and go back to Elex 2 in the meantime.1 point

Hah, I never thought Star Trek Picard could be this self-reflective. Episode opens with a shrink talking to Picard about his claustrophobia (I kid you not!) and Picard eventually replies by calling this line of questioning absurd. Absurd, yes. All of it.1 point

Started Solasta: Lost Valley. With the classic team of half-elf Paladin, half-orc Rogue, and two half-orc Barbarians. Seems decent so far. One place had a big performance hit due to some graphics, not sure which, and one minor quest bugged out somehow, but mostly it's been good. Also seems like the warnings of "you can choose this skill/language for your character, but it's not used in Crown of the Magister" really do apply only to Crown of the Magister, and not to Lost Valley.1 point

As I see it, Poles had some kind of military training near the Ukrainian borders and during the lunch break, they decided to left the keys in the starters, considering being safe, but unfortunately, they did not get a memo, that on the other side of the border, the Ukrainian 1st Tractor division has an exercise as well, and probably some of their farmers just could not resist1 point

But that's not true, either. Nor would it be true to say that no one gives a damn about what's happening in China. If you intend to say that the international response is much weaker than it should be, then that's a potentially fine argument, but it would really help the discussion if you actually made arguments that are true. Saying that no one cares at all is simply not true.1 point

I don't see it as a problem to respond to each question in a separate post. That is easy to read.1 point

Well. I am sorry to upset anyone, but lately being not very active here, I am trying to answer all the questions/posts as soon, as I found any interesting ones. And sometimes these questions are spanned over few pages. (Yes, you are correct, not the case this time). Also for some reason when I tried to use multiquote few times in the past, it failed on me few times before. So I am more clumsy than lazy, while trying to answer multiple of people at once1 point

And Russia reportedly will contract 11.2% this year. I bet China is already calculating, how to turn them into their full-fledged vassals... And there are first hints that India is, after the events in Bucha and surrounding towns and villages, starting to reconsider their stance on the situation, which might punish the Russian economy even more. We'll see ho they will act in the coming days/weeks.1 point

Playing "trails of cold steel" already beat the trails in the sky series. I like it, but I can't really say why. The dialog is rather corny. All the quests are fetch, go here, talk to this person, get something, fight a monster. The combat is very easy. JRPGs are just charming I guess. The writing is childish, but also somewhat dark If you look passed it's presentation. Nothing has really happened story wise, it's just all character development, which I appreciate. It feels like every game lately has to start with some intense action, instead of easing you into the game. I think of baldurs gate 3, and pathfinder 2. Both start by instantly showing you some mega boss. Instead of you being introduced to the world and setting. Wrath of the righteous has a giant demon, a dragon and a magic sword within like 5 minutes. The sword is what makes me stop playing. Now I feel like I should make a character that uses a sword. Why would a monk, mage or ranger be the chosen sword character... I don't know if I want to be lawful or chaotic in this situation. I just threw a knife, fell down a hole, now I gotta choose if I'm going to lawfully accept the sword. This just became a pathfinder rant1 point
