  1. Good find, this should fix it: Sayuka Bear Fix.zip Tagging @Elric Galad for balance patch.

  2. Here's an oddity I just discovered, just checked community patch and bpm to make sure it hasn't already been noticed. The giant beasts that are part of the Sakuya questline do not seem to have a creature type. Hunter's Claw does not get any stacks from attacking them! this blurry screencap is trying to draw attention to the fact that my character has successfully landed a hunter's claw attack (six of them, in fact) and no buff is showing up edit: doing this again to verify, these bears don't have any galawain's buff on them (i have galawain's challenge enabled), whereas some other giant beasts do. so they truly aren't being treated as beasts by the game.

  3. I am 100% opposed to CRT. QLED/LCD gives a much brighter picture, is lighter, cheaper, more environmentally friendly to make and uses less than 30% of the power. The max practical resolution a CRT can give is 1024 x 768 at 120 Hz and that screen would have to be at least 36".

  6. Diary of a Lost Girl (1929). It's always good when a film starts off with a huge text dump like this one did: You could've just said "this was hacked together from ten different surviving versions of the film". There are some scenes (just some - presumably from one of the more inferior masters that they used) that look like this, so if fidelity of ancient film is a requirement of yours, beware: Turns out, the six or seven second .gif I made was over 200 MB and nothing will host and play it as a .gif - a huge amount of noise makes for very large gifs, particularly at 1080p. Okay, here we go, 54 MB @ 540p is a little more manageable: A couple of oddities, but nothing too distracting, really... I can't understate how cruelly unfair it is that so relatively little of the 20s were filmed and especially how little of it was filmed with sound, and never mind any of it being in the least bit interesting. Anyways, the last film was basically Lulu is a clueless/self-destructive womanizer*, and this film was instead Lulu is not a womanizer...but everyone treats her like she is, so then she - surprise! - becomes one. I have to say, big improvement: didn't think I'd ever even sort of really like a silent film, but this was oddly mesmerizing and at least a little brilliant. Strangely, it's literally the same director, lead actress, and year of release as Pandora's Box, but I don't know, I enjoyed it a lot more. The style of everything was different, and I think the weirdly intense soundtrack helped a bit, too - it's amazing what a good soundtrack can sometimes do.

  9. Oh this is what I name a seducing idea : the spiritshift suffer in my opinion to a great lack of taste, in comparison to the items that you are "turning off" while transformed. But the interest to use the forms if they was "classchanging" would be determinant. Each animal forms can be related to a martial classe : Stag form as Barbarian Wolf form as Fighter Cat form as Monk Bear form as Paladin Boar form Rogue Blight form as Ranger If, while transformed, the form could provide some benefices from the associated classe, like some abilities /encounter (I speak about some, not only one) , on top of the inherent form bonus but enhanced a little, I mean if the spiritshift form would have the imprit of the corresponding classe gameplay more than only the vague similarity that appears at the form choice, then building around spiritshift would make sense, like take the Shifter subclasse by the way. (the only reason to do that, Shifter as druid, seems (to me) RP reasons.)

  11. I can't really separate events out into their episodes, but the story as I get it so far has two protagonists... Vincent the immigrant and Re-I, the granddaughter of the "administrator". They live in a city, which later turns out to be a dome existing in a wasteland, sustaining a kind of utopia/dystopia kind of society, complete with constant messages bombarding the "model citizens" with how they should behave and act like good little consumers. AI "people" are everywhere and serves many purposes. It immediately made me think of Bladerunner. A virus, called "cogito", is spreading amongst the AI's (called "autoreives") and causes havoc. On top of that, the bureau of security as well as Re-I's grandfather have gotten their hands dirty with some unsavoury research just referred to as "Proxy". The results of which escapes a lab/holding facility and goes on a killing spree. Vincent manages to escape from the city using a vent, that cogito infected AI's has been using to escape the city and ends up with a small group of people living outside the dome. One of them wants to be more than a "dome parasite" some day (being people who lives off the sewage and waste of the dome). That's where I got to. Leaving out a fair number of details and characters. Edit: Looks like I got the name of the female lead wrong... the last letter is not an 'I' but a lower case 'L', i.e. 'l' (Re-l).

  12. There's the official CRT which is a framework in law school to look at legal events particularly through the lens of minority races to try to gain some insights for how the justice system impacts other races. There's the more colloquial use of the term which is about doing similar stuff with more than just a high level college course... basically trying to empathize with other viewpoints when looking at events to understand why differences may be present. A bit more generally, looking back at history and things like Manifest Destiny and suggesting maybe that wasn't a great motivator for colonizing the western part of the continent. People like Chris Rufo use it as a catch all term for almost anything that could be seen as "critical" of the United States/white people (he has literally admitted this on his twitter) and twist it into this idea that schools are teaching white children to be ashamed and that it is making said white children depressed and ashamed of being an American etc. As an interesting anecdote to this though, a friend of mine is a history PhD at Kansas University, made an interesting observation with his students he teaches as a TA. Part of the conservative fear is white children being all depressed and feeling shame etc and we need to protect children from that. He notes that to some degree they are telling on themselves, because there is the assumption that if we teach some of the horrors of slavery in US history, that the white kids will identify with the slave owners and not the non-trivial amount of white abolitionists that existed at the time and recognized that slavery was wrong. His experience is that the students tend to not side with the slave owners. Dr. Ibram X Kendi gave a brief talk for us at EA one day where he mentioned the same thing. By refusing to discuss realities of slavery in the US history, it means that the abolition movement is not taught and that white people were very involved in that as well. I speculate that there's a hefty degree of projection going with some of the people in power advocating against "CRT" and whom they likely identify with in some way.

Finished Ergo Proxy episode 4... completely hooked on the story Not really what i would think of when people say "Anime", which I normally associated with a few stereo types when it comes to art direction. 15. Hey Chill, That's a fair callout. I think that is a leftover of our old system (where we had multiple ways to log in) as we were converting to our current login system. I put in a request to our web dev to look into making this work off of just 1 click As for Sarex, yea we are still on AWS, though we are just about ready to convert over. This has been something we wanted to switch over to for some time now, but have been a bit busy to get to. We are currently testing out the change away from AWS for our login system, the websites, and forums on our testing server and hopefully will have that all pushed live soon Thanks for letting us know your thoughts on the forums!

  17. More Hades. I got the first ending by escaping 10 times and am now doing the family fixing thing. Thinking about doing no heat runs to accumulate stuff and get rid of all the boon hunting prophecies. Favorite weapon has become the sword with cursed slash and Arthur aspect, least is probably the bow with any aspect other than the homing special. Don't have hidden aspects for bow or gauntlets yet though. It's a really fun game to play and relax, it will probably be my go to when I'm craving hack n slash stuff for a while because it doesn't really require too much investment.

  20. Well Russia have planned to take the North of Kyiv, the Bucha, Borodyanka and Makariv, all were not meant for the world to see, just for the Ukrainians. Thankfully they were beaten and run away, so the rest of the world can see, what Russia is capable of... And speaking of Wagner, they are only in the east, and they lost today/yesterday 1 whole division there. Bucha was under the "reign" of Chabarovsk units, which committed all of these atrocities. And the names of all members of the division/battalion are already in the wild. So I expect, most of them will have accidents at a tea parties in very near future, to cover up all that ****...

  23. Yes, most NATO members called for invocation of Article 5 immediately after 9/11. However, there's a certain flexibility in the level of support required to satisfy Article 5, and many countries supplied only token troops to Afghanistan. NATO is still living with the consequences of a historic decision it made hours after 9/11 Military alliances are always a challenge; it's often easier from a command perspective to go it alone.

  24. You've added a 'just' and an 'only' there where they previously weren't. I'm aware of very few proposed history topics that include, as part of their subject, an explicit (or implicit for that matter) 'and these bad things are the sum total of what happened.' BUT In my opinion it is WAY MORE IMPORTANT to talk about the bad parts of history, ie the bits we need to not repeat.

  25. No, it's not, but I'm not sure what my support is worth. I hate most controllers layouts, think the GameCube controller was the best, and I'm using a Logitech M1 laser mouse to play games and want my PS/2 ports back. I'm clearly not the target audience for any modern input device.

  26. I wish they had never made controller thumbsticks clickable. It never works well. I wind up pressing the stick when I don't want to press it all the time when moving it around rapidly. And when I do want to press the thumbstick I wind up moving it when I don't want to move it. It's a really terrible place to put a button. I get it, controllers have limited buttons to work with, but there has to be a better solution. I'd rather we went back to 6 face buttons like the SEGA Genesis controller and did away with thumbstick buttons. 6 face buttons is more awkward than 4, but I'm 99% confident that I would erroneously press face buttons with the 6 buttons A LOT less than I erroneously press thumbsticks. Is this just a me problem?

  29. I wouldn't say melancholy. If I were to explain it in psychological terms, it would be closer to bipolar disorder than melancholy (unipolar), although of course describing it as bipolar is taking it a bit too far. Right up in the north of Europe, there is indeed plenty of cold and darkness, but what you have to keep in mind is that there is also an overabundance of light. Many is the traveller who arrives here during summertime and cannot sleep. Going crazy about life and sex and all that during the lighter months is also not unheard of at all. So yes, the climate and the latitudes do have an effect, but it's more complex than just melancholy. Remember: if you have a one-night stand above the Arctic Circle, it'll last six months!

  31. German intelligence would seem to confirm that atrocities, such as those in Bucha, are part of a deliberate Russian strategy. There was never much doubt, I would say, but of course it needs to be confirmed. https://www.spiegel.de/politik/butscha-soldaten-besprachen-graeueltaten-gegen-zivilisten-ueber-funk-a-9e01662c-aa7e-4828-bf6f-f662d9b6164e?d=1649315458&sara_ecid=app_upd_903PVrz5TZlGJuLWLqJDVijRko558t&sara_ecid=soci_upd_KsBF0AFjflf0DZCxpPYDCQgO1dEMph It's curious that we still have people on this forum who post "badass" photos of war criminals, regard alternate narratives as "truth bombs" and seriously talk about "psychotic Russophobia" in the West.

  33. On CNN: "Video shows Russian forces dug trenches in highly radioactive off-limits area near Chernobyl." If this turns out to be true, which it likely will, we will have to invent completely new ways of measuring and indicating how stupid an army can be. Clearly words fail. Early on in this conflict, someone in St. Petersburg chiseled "NO WAR" in the ice in the river. Obviously this was a provocation. People were promptly ordered to get rid of the text. So, two people went and PAINTED over the text, which was IN THE ICE, and then, halfway through their project, they RAN OUT OF PAINT. But that was nothing compared to this headline.

  34. Wheel of Time released. Guess I probably ought to clarify WoT (1999), since there's meant to be a new game in (early) development. Far better than it had any right to be really, and one of the more interesting Quake/ Unreal clones of the ~2000 glut.

Which did not happen, and if it did, it was also staged, also Ukrainians did it, also they were all Nazis and deserved it. Here's hoping the blight is as competent in covering its crimes as it is at everything else.

  39. Yup. We can now add Bucha to the annals of the Russian army's most glorious "battles." A month?! You are being incredibly generous. Right now, if Russia's nukes were somehow taken away from them, Russia would cease to exist as a state because every single one of their neighbors would be able to carve out for themselves as much of Russian territory as they want. Heck the Finnish army could easily double their country's size!

  40. According to local military specialists, of whom I am not one, the attempted attack on Kyiv was so hopelessly poor in both its planning and execution that it would have got a resounding F in any proper military academy, had someone suggested that in a strategy test. Not quite idiocy but close to it, anyway.
