In utterly unsurprising news, Omicron has been detected in European samples from before its first official detection in RSA. In utterly utterly unsurprising news, despite this the west have travel bans from southern African countries, most of which have zero detected omicron, and no travel bans for all the western countries that definitely have it. So yeah, South Africa being punished for being competent and transparent, and Euros suffering nothing from their lack of competency and their opacity*. I may poke fun at the WHO for their pandering to China (no Xi variant as it would embarrass a certain corpulent honey loving Chinese leader) and India (switching to greek letters when an Indian variant would embarrass Modi) but there was a good reason for it when the rest of the world is all Trumpian 'just test less' to avoid being the first country to find it. As always, a big thanks to that cretin von der Leyen**- and to Germany, for kicking its embarrassments upstairs- for blocking the removal of vaccine patents, allowing more spread and more variants with more mutations. Great news for German company BionTech though, especially if there's immune escape, and that's the important thing... *should have been detected earlier, you can bet that any EU country larger than Luxemburg is doing more sequencing than RSA is. Wouldn't be in the least bit surprising if they were holding off on an announcement to avoid the negative press. **though it seems the waiver may be coming now and it is better late than never, and to be fair to the EU the Euro Parliament voted for it. In true "wouldn't be allowed into the EU itself, for being undemocratic" EU style it was the autocratic/ undemocratic level of career incompetencies on the top that was blocking it.5 points

As you probably know, the Flame Keeper burn AoE is treated as Ranged, and benefit from the Ring of the Marksman and Alcina's Tricorn. And, if someone can agree, that can bounce with Ranger' Driving Flight. That is not restricted to the Keeper of the Flame : EVERY weapon with a similar effect is also tagged as Ranged. I think they are implemented in this manner to prevent multiple Carnage, Swift Flurry or Mob Stance. But they shoulnt tink about Driving flight. (for this, again, I need to someone confirmation). Weapons concerned are : Magran's Favor (Burning Burst) Oathbreaker's End (Found Guilty) Slayer's Claw (Aspect of the Stelgaer) Amra (!) (Gore) Marux Amanth (Corona of the Soul) Eager Blade (Bounding Strike) Engoliero Do Espirs (Cruel blade) Keeper of the Flame (Magran's Wrath) Sungrazer (!) (extinction Event and Meteoric) Karaboru (Bloody Slash) Acolyte's Frostbite (Solitary Fate and Vangeful Cold and Freezing Gust) Frostball (Dispersed Suffering and Shattering Head) Lord Darryn's Voulge (Static Charge and Thunder) Chromoprismatic Quaterstaff (Soul Storm) Seeker's Fang (Spider's Flurry) Grave Calling (Chilling Grave) Hell Beckoning (Noxious Hel) Note : Im not sure at all for the Driving Flight bounce, but that seems trigger on my tests.3 points

Quick suggestion for vehicles: boats/rafts, bicycles, tricycles, wheelbarrows & hitches. i think it'd be useful to be able to attach stems & storage containers to wheelbarrows, & also be able to hitch wheelbarrows to tricycles. moving supplies would be incredible this way. also it would be amazing if we could carry a tool that allowed us to drag stems along with us while we're in the water. perhaps bikes wouldnt be able to hitch wheelbarrows but be faster than trikes which could hitch while not being as fast; both still be faster than running; stamina on a bike/trike perhaps is the same as running but takes a penalty when something is hitched to the trike? a small boat/canoe/kayak would just be swell especially if it could also drag supplies. my most out-there suggestion is for rubber bands that allow travel back up a zip line. so if you have enough elastic resource on your way down, it attaches at the end giving you one trip back up. that or maybe a kind of peddle-pully system that relies on stamina?2 points

Had a talk with my GP today, she said I can come in any time to get my booster shot. Now all that's left is to, uhm... My experience with my two Moderna shots were somewhat unpleasant. After the first one I could barely leave work because I couldn't get my access badge out of my car window and to the reader because my arm didn't respond to my attempts to move it, and it felt like someone had stabbed me with a red hot knitting needle, and after the second shot I ran a relatively high fever and was more or less out for two days with high body temperature and the symptoms of a really bad hangover. Getting a third dose that, so far, everyone else I've talked to had an actual reaction to (as opposed to nothing or mild discomfort after the first two), I can't say I'm looking forward to the experience. Sigh. I wouldn't be surprised if our recent explosion of cases was linked to Omicron in some fashion. That wasn't just a regular uptick due to the seasonal change, it really went bonkers from one week to the next and there are also an awful lot of breakthrough infections. There have been rumors that laboratories identified a more infectious variant a far as a few weeks back, but those were just that - rumors. Or maybe they weren't. There's also been a surge in Denmark in spite of having high vaccination rates. If that really is Omicron then that's good news though, because hospitalizations are still by far and large limited to vaccinated high risk groups without a booster shot and the unvaccinated, of which we have a lot (at least compared to the rest of the Western world). On the other hand, that would necessitate that the bumbling buffoons that are our current leaders are actually capable of keeping information like that under wraps, and I honestly... really, like... don't think they are. Our current ministers are busy sending each other schlong picks on their work phones and talk about their embezzlements on WhatsApp chats that they thought were gone forever after they deleted them in the app. Lastly, regarding the name, well, it not being Xi because it would offend Pooh isn't much worse than it not being Ny/Nu by virtue of the WHO assuming that Americans would be too dumb to distinguish Nu from "new" and would think of an entirely new virus (the actual wording isn't that drastic, but it really boils down to that). *shrug*2 points

This abilitie-test-around-build is made to answer to the problem posed by Thelee, when an high-resolve ennemie is affected by somes hostiles effect but for a short duration. The effect of Dispersed Suffering from Frostball add 20% hostiles effects durations to all ennemies in a 4-5 m (not totally sure) radius around the caster. That cant graze, but fail ; it is acc. vs will and benefit from weapon enchantement. After some test, I saw that the +20% is not just depending of current durations of hostiles effects, but also for how many time you influence the affliction. (if the duration decrease to 9s after you hit it several time, another one hit from dispersed suffering will grow the duration to 18s in a try I made.) Dispersed Sufferng is traited as Ranged, and gain eventually the acc bonus from the Marksman ring and the Acina' hat. As a Fighter, you get 3 abilities that enhance this purpose : Disciplined barrage, because of Intuitive of course, Penetrating Stike, because it is a full attack and you need to hit twice (see below) without lost of time, Mob Stance, to chain-kill. As a Beckoner, you can get 6 mini skeletons + 1 weak one every 6s. Them from invocation have 66 deflection and 43 health. 85 health and 21 deflection for the Many live's ones. An easy method to dispose them around you is to order them to attack you. That will not "trigger" Flancked, tactician is not a good choice. Skeletons dont make you restore discipline on interrupt, like they dont make you generate focus even while confused (but they count as killed for max-focus-soulblade). Devoted is a nice choice because of the +25% crit damage. Criticals hits are the surest way to kill them in one attack (+25% crit multiplier and +10% from Improved Critical in addition). The pen bonus doesnt matter against their armor (0, and 1 for the chant's ones), you are assured to overpen., +30% damage. You get also +15% from Weapon Mastery, and +60% on legendary upgrade. For the might, that depend of the playstyle : with one-handed Frostball, your benefices are +12acc and no damage malus. You need >30 might to shot them surely in one critical hit (at least 43 damages). Not a good option for me. with dualwield Frostballs, you gain +30% and +15% recovery bonus for your second Frostball (first is skipped by full-attack) but suffer to -35% of damage. You need env. 15might to shot them when crit. Mob Stance benefit to +8acc (capacity level) and +10acc (Power level : fighter), and without any buffs except Intuitive, at level 20 with 20 perception (19 elfe+1culture) your acc is 109 (20base + 17per + 57level + 15 legendary). You need 166 to be sure to crit. littles skeletons, but only 121 for the chant's ones. It is possible with buffs, items and food to go to 160 (178 for mob stance) with dual wield ,and easily if the fighter is not also the beckoner but a monk or a cipher. Then, you are able to do 30-40 damages per crit, *2 (full attack) : if skeletons from invocation are well posted, and the hostile duration is at 6.0s when the first one die, when the last (of the 6) is at this time dead, the duration is between 17 and 18s. The many live skeletons are more resistent (85 health), you need crit them 3 times : when you did the previously massacre, one or two of them emmerged from the limb. If one take the mob stance full attack, you just have to hit one more time to proc another full attack on a newest skeleton. Once another one pop, kill the first, to again a time proc the full attack on him. During this time, you could call another 6 mini-skeletons. etc. 15 skeletons coldy assasinate for the cause, and the 6.0s duration is around 70s. After that, the numbers rise very highly. At this moment you used only 3 Disciplines (2 penetrating strikes on mini-skeletons and 1 Disciplined barrage) and between 12 and 18 sec (in game) since the first kill. You need to be Confuse to proc Mob stance on skeletons, and because of dispersed suffering, your confusion is extended too, for vanishing on Set to their Purpose ( you need a 7th level chanter invocation to have 6 phrases, to summon skeletons quickly the second time) when you want to stop that. Note : Clear out is really bad to do the Dispersion, because even if you kill skeletons with it, you will push the aimed ennemie out of the dispersion range. About skeletons, you cant engage them, to provoc a disengagement attack, too bad..2 points

Ok, I have to say it, I like these ideas and hope the developers add them; especially the rubber band one. That will make building tall Zip Line towers a one time thing to build and not at every point that you want a Zip Line. Took me 40 days to build one near the Oak Tree, and I am considering a bridge next time, since that took a lot less time to build. Even a pully system will work I think.2 points

Hey guys. I'm still alive and kicking. Just really busy with work. After taking a crash course in 5G technology and network architecture (which is extremely cool by the way) we've hit the ground running on optimizing systems that are already deployed. I've moved out of my place and right now I'm living with G in La Crosse. Things are still going great with us. My house in TN is in contract and looks like we're closing next week. The buyer offered the asking price but had a list of things they wanted completed as a condition. I don't have time for that so I've been throwing money at that problem. I've made the trip twice so far to follow up on that. One hang up is my property there was not a single plot but two separate plots. The house was on a 24.5 acre plot but a year after moving in I bought an additional 2 acres that abutted the river. I never combined them but listed the whole thing for sale as one property. That has created a paperwork hassle. The realtor probably should have caught that but, live and learn. So the buyer is getting the 2 acres for $1. Janet, my lawyer, said that should not be a problem. I've talked to G about buying/building since she is leased in her house for six more months. Undeveloped real estate here is dirt cheap. I mean really cheap compared to other places. Cross the river into MN and it get seriously expensive quickly. Buy dirt and build is the way to go I think. Problem for later I guess. I'm inclined not to make a big move until the economy tanks, interest rates go up and the real estate market corrects. It has to. Once mortgages become more expensive the prices drop fast and a cash sale can get you a good value. Hope everyone had a good T-Giving. Congrats LC on the new place! Take care of that shoulder Azdeus. You ain't as young are you used to be!2 points

i was under the impression that upscaling doesn't take effect in places that you've already loaded into - is that not true? either way, +6 acc/def can be a huge swing. It can make an (unlucky) run of events much more likely, which may be what happened. The monks in FS in particular also love to use skyward kick, which even works on a graze, which suuuuuucks, and will suck even more if they have +6 acc on that (i could easily see it turning into something you have virtually no chance of avoiding being chain-knocked-up) true, but maybe this is more like a bell curve where the scaling is effective at the beginning and effective at the (very) end, with a flattening out in the middle. at the SSS/FS level, the enemies already have powerful abilities and the power curve isn't nearly as much in your favor (e.g. if you come back 2 levels higher against a mid-game boar level encounter, you are just way more powerful than they can imagine with all your new stuff, whereas coming back 2 levels higher against FS vithrack, they could already use death of a 1000 cuts and minoletta's missile salvo, did you really gain that much of an advantage in those 2 levels?)1 point

Hm, I tried once with upscaled FS at lvl 20 (normally I don't play with scaling) but it wasn't noticably more difficult so I assumed - since most enemies are of same/higher levels as/than me - that not much was scaled in the first place. Maybe I was wrong and it was just the build that was overpowering everything anyways (SC Nalpasca with dual mortars, heavily relying on Resonant Touch + party). Maybe some of the encounters there are again set as lvl 1 internally for the purpose of scaling - instead of their actual level? There are some other encounters that have this problem as well (see one late thread about the upscaled Talfor fight). If that's the case the scaling would be adding a ton of difficulty. If not I don't really grasp how a few levels should make such a huge difference like you reported.1 point

The mechanic was a little weird, especially in mouth-animation, but I kinda liked her in-game. Her role really wasn't that large and she wasn't a playable chr. The Adam Driver-ish lookin' dude with the panther was the best thing about DMC5. And PhotoMode. I guess that one guy's hoverboard like skill was ok. The gameplay itself was a pretty boring combat-fest overall, I never finished it. Edit: I'm not sure it's a game I'd want on some tiny screen, either. Altho for me that would be true of any visual-flashy game. It's like watching LotR on a 6" screen. What's the point.1 point
