  1. I think you might be undervaluing what Boeroer is saying, which goes to Boeroer's later response: I think it's very easy to get into a trap of missing subtle interactions with a psion, because it's very different than how a normal cipher plays. It's not "a psion plays like a normal cipher except that you instead have this different focus generation," because the psion is different enough that your playstyle will fundamentally change once you've had some time with it and realize what it's doing. Yes, an optimized normal cipher may generate focus faster, but outside of brilliant, they are only doing that while doing something lame for a cipher: attacking with weapons. And, while they're using powers, they are generating 0 focus. And if the cipher is underpenetrating the enemy, that focus generation goes down quite a bit. A psion may overall still have less burst focus generation than an optimized cipher, but a psion will be much more... action-efficient and consistent with how that focus is generated. That has playstyle consequences. This is redundant with what Boeroer has said, but I feel like have to double-underline this: You literally can cast psion powers nonstop with a psion. As a simple, degenerate example: with minimal metagaming, you can literally chain together non-stop Mental Bindings (perma-paralyze), for example. Or non-stop Soul Whips (lock down spellcasters). Like, literally, literally nonstop. Mostother ciphers will have to pause at some point to regenerate focus with lame-o weapon attacks (outside of beguiler interactions). Your skald alternative will still need downtime to generate phrases somehow. A psion can lock down tough enemies at 100% uptime. Another consequence is that when you run low on focus... you can still do stuff. For a normal cipher, they have to start attacking and doing something "lame" by comparison. For a psion, I may just start using cheap powers (Soul Whip remains a highly effective thing to use in tough fights or fights with spellcasters). Esp single class and/or with bonus PL, you can still have a substantial net gain in while using your cheaper powers. And the auto focus generation means it creates an odd reward structure: I don't mind slow casts nearly as much because it means I'm still doing something productive and getting even more focus while I'm doing it. As Boeroer mentions, this is also why psion multiclasses very very well with other casters - a normal cipher still has to grind to a halt and start attacking, whereas a psion can just start casting spells from the other class while generating focus at full blast. (edit: not to mention those cases where you are just shy of being able to use a power. a normal cipher will waste action/recovery to land an attack, or--worst case--self-empower. a psion will probably have enough focus to use that power in the time it takes you to reposition) Personally I think the psion's downside is at an acceptable place, and shouldn't be narrowed. The amount of times my psions have been shut out from doing stuff in a fight is actually quite low. It requires a little bit of skill, but if it's reduced to just weapons, it basically borders on 0 effective downside for most typical psion playstyles.

  4. After "fixing" the haze area - I've been encountering Infected Ladybugs, along with accompanying infected gnats, larva and mites in unexpected areas, These Ladybugs are often in pairs. Ran into a group on the far side of the pond (in the dry grass area between the stink bugs and the pond net). Also have a pair rampaging under the picnic table right now with much destroyed grass. Not sure if this is intended, or a glitch ... not a big problem, just making note. Playing on X-Box

  5. @BruceVC Nordic food culture is bad, especially in my country where frozen pizzas are everyone's favorite meals. However, Nordic food can be insanely good when done by people in-the-know. Especially sea food. If I had the choice to go to a top 10 Scandinavian, or a top 10 German/Austrian restaurant I'd recommend the former any day of the week, because of the sea food. Edit: I'm saving up to go to Restaurant Under myself, in the south of the country. The ambience is pretty sick:

  7. it is intended. turning off the haze causes the infected insects and fungus to spread. i saw a video that show fungal growth under the tree where the wolf spiders live. it's probably going to be part of the story as i think the scientist that created the infected fungus cracked the haze cannister to keep his mistake from spreading. in a later update we may find a way to out right cure the infection.

  8. I've never tried a Psion before, but I don't really see what's so strong about this. At max level, a multiclassed Psion gets 56 focus every 14 seconds. Meanwhile, a Skald can use his first tier invocations at roughly every 14 seconds as well (4 sec recovery, 6 sec/phrase) not counting phrases from crits. Considering that Skalds also get useful auras, can potentially get more phrases via crits, and only lose phrase generation if they're hard CC'd, I think the two are roughly comparable, and neither is overwhelmingly powerful.

  10. Oh I am so glad someone else noticed this as well! Thought I was loosing my mind or had a ghost running amuck in the castle. Its the curved mushroom half door. Right? Same thing is happening with the curved gate double weed stem doors......opening and letting the wolf spider (George) outside of his pen. Built a nice enclosure for him. (He'd rather sleep all the time anyway). But since the update....he's out, he's in, the gate is open, then its closed. First there's one spider in and another outside trying to get in. (Ralph likes to visit George from time to time.) Then suddenly both are inside and sleeping like babes......With both sides of the double curved weed stem doors wide open. Hope we can get this fixed. (Wolf spiders do get cranky when they can't take their naps on time.)

  11. I've been working on a pretty massive castle in grounded. I'd love to show off what I have so far. I dont have any PC recording equipment to capture my xbox. Is there a simpler way to record a video of me walking around the castle? I know you can take quick videos on xbox but I dont know if that's the best option. I always seem to have upload issues with them. Screen shots will be hard since the castle is so big its hard to get good images. I can try the xbox screen capture if that's the only way. How do most people make the long videos for lets plays and stuff?

  14. Noticed some small stuff: BalancePolishingModBuffs/design/gamedata/cl.druid.touch_of_death.gamedatabundle, line 23: missing brackets "}]" BalancePolishingSummonRebalance/design/gamedata/cl.chanter.dank_spore_summon.gamedatabundle, line 15: "AttackBaseComponent" should be "AttackSummonComponent" This is purely subjective, but I really liked the deterministic design of the Arcane Reflection spells. I have no input on balance though, sorry.

  15. Currently what I'm planning for Arcane Reflection line of spells : - Minor Arcane Reflection : 50% reflection chances* for 45s, not spell level limit - Arcane Reflection (unchanged) : 100% reflection chances* for 60s, 30 spell level limit (so better than the previous one in most cases, but the first may have an edge against intense fire) - Llengrath Arcane Reflection : 100% reflection chances* against single target spells and 75% spell resistance for 20s (basically a short duration almost absolute protection against most spells. Note that setting both to 75% would have caused the 25% non reflected single target spells to be resisted 75% time, which I find confusing.) It can be abused through WoD**, but not really more that what some MC can get (Unbending Trunk, Blade Turning) * Note that reflection chances vs single target spells also works with bouncing spells. **(though next version of BPM will set it to +0.33s/-2s per Hit only, so one need 3 targets for infinite duration) Tell me if this design would feel right for you. Full discussion below : Do Different Arcane Reflection Spells Stack? - Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS) - Obsidian Forum Community Sorry for posting it in 2 subforums, but the initial discussion may not have been in the right place.

  18. You definitely not alone it that view, I am just surprised that you thought your observation would be unique or somehow unreasonable ....is it because you have only been noticing how most liberals ostensibly have no issue with left wing propaganda and hyperbole on SM and we only seem to see the banning of what some people on the right say ? Just get my opinion in future, I will respond on actual overall usage outcomes and I dont consider myself left or right but more in the middle so you always trust me to be objective ....well thats how I see myself The moment FB accepted responsibility to somehow monitor and reduce " toxic usage " it created the impossible objective of being consistent with what anyone on the left or right says that others would consider inaccurate. And I have been very hurt and offended by what some people have said about " whiteness " and topics like critical race theory Because Kanie you know white people have feelings to and no ones wants revisionist history or selective outrage about a so called "fact " that the US is an example of systemic racism ....and I dont agree with that at all. For example I dont think I have ever met one active forum member who is a racist? We had a member called WOD who identified with white nationalists and not white supremacist ideology and he was the closest to a racist but I dont consider him a normal racist like a kkk member And its not because I am sensitive to these topics in a knee jerk reaction sense its because I will only accept statements like this if they are based on the actual data and reality. SA and the Apartheid system is a clear example of systemic racism but the US is an example of people being racist And you cannot address bigotry like this by suggesting that the problem is systemic....it doesnt make sense and just alienates people who feel alienated by this type of generalization

I crash a lot and I also kill them almost daily, they wont stop laying eggs! 22. I was mostly joking, but I wouldn't consider Surströmming to be bad food out of hand. We're eating a lot of fermented stuff here too, just not fish, but when you're opening a new barrel or bag/can of sauerkraut, the smell isn't the most fantastic thing in the world either, but the food itself great. Speaking of Michelin stars, by the way, I'm more partial to the Gault-Millau hats, as that's just a mark of quality for the food, not anything else. Good service and a nice looking restaurant is, well, nice, but really, the best food I often got in totally run-down places, places with the most grumpy of servers (and/or owners) and fantastically tasteless furniture to round it off. The small places the locals go to eat, you know. One of those is in walking distance, guy just recently threw out his lava lamps (no, really). He's also all nice and friendly, really, last time I was there we combined going out to eat with walking our dog, and he come in and he's like: "Who's the idiot on the leash there?" and I was like "What?" and he predictably went: "I'm talking to the dog." Makes decent candy too.

  23. 56 focus every 14 secs would mean you only get 4 focus per second. But Soul Mind scales with universal Power Level. That means stuff like Acute, Stone of Power, potions etc. may lift you to 5 or even more focus per second. You cannot speed up the phrase generation of Skalds with Power Levels. Another difference is that chanting stops after an invocation is cast - and as you said once you suffer hard CC and so on. Soul Mind never stops (besides the pause after getting damaged/ getting a crit). Keep in mind that Skald only has favorable invocation costs for offensive invocations while the others are more expansive. This limits his versatility. Psion doesn't have those limitations. Comparing the costs of the PL1 stuff of Skald with PL 3 stuff of Psion is not fair, is it? If we compared PL1 stuff of Skald with PL1 stuff of Psion then at higher Power Levels the Psion could dish out his spells a lot faster than the Skald - even if we included the phrases he would get on melee crits. Psion could generate the 10 focus for Soul Shock every 2 secs for example - while the Skald would be stuck at a Her Revenge every 14 secs (with a crit in between maybe halved every now an then). Her Revenge my be the stronger spell in general, but I'm just using the spells here to compare the resource generation/spell cost of the power levels. If we compared PL3 stuff of the Skald with PL3 stuff of the Psion: the Psion could cast a PL3 spell every 10 secs while the Skald could only cast an offensive PL3 invocation every 22 secs if I'm not mistaken (maybe every 16 if he gets a crit refund in between). Skald needs a lot more micromanagement/his harder to script than Psion. For a caster Psion is very easy to script - especially if you only use a few abilities (like in my case Puppet Master and Mental Binding as backup). That's no advantage for a player char of course but it's very nice for a hireling. Of course Psion has no chant aura with useful effects. But then: why handle them as opposites? The best use of a Psion so far was it to pair it with a Chanter actually. I prefer Troubadour (bc. of Brisk Recitation). Other casters also work. It's just insane to use the "action time + recovery of one class" to generate resources for the other. With Psion/Troub this works in both ways: resources will almost never be zero - while it's an incredibly versatile combination. Also lots of fun to play imo. Anyway: I was also very skeptic with the Psion at the start until I actually played one (or two now: Psion/Troub: and now lately SC Psion). There's something to it that only unlocks if you actually play it rather than theorycraft it. Maybe the game mechanics with RTwP are just too complex to relaly predict how every combo will play out in the end. It's just so that even the SC Psion* really suprised me with how effective it was. I ddidn't mean to say it was super strong - jsut that it is way, way better than I anticipated. Together with Beguiler my favorite Cipher subclass now. Maybe even better than Beguiler because I played the heck out of Beguiler in the past. )* which I only included because I did an "SC only/refreshing resources/maximum AI!"run - and I thought SC Psion would be supereasy to script

  28. Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha A's, Episode 5. This one borrows a trick from a very old playbook. Nanoha and Fate are winning until a masked man shows up and helps the Belkan Knights escape. Not sure why Tuxedo Mask is fighting on the bad guy's side, but he told Chrono that he's doing to right thing. Sure, why not. Hayate isn't just paralyzed, she has some sort of degenerative neuroligical condition. Not sure why interdimensional mages with access to more developed planets would let that be treated on Earth, but hey, maybe Hayate was a normal girl until the Book of Darkness showed up. Hayate doesn't seem to be aware of her friends... occupation, at least, which is pretty odd when they all consider her their leader, master, or whatever. True to form, with much of the episode dedicated to action, it was much less interesting than the two before. Fixed that for you.

  30. Ah....the joys and frustrations of a new update! Here's my priority list of fixes. 1. Now that the sound of a falling shovel has been fixed, can we please cancel the opening Crack-Rumble-Thud each and every time we enter the game. That would be lovely. 2. Deteriorating health of all armor, weapons and gear not worn or in inventory. If they are in a chest or mounted on walls or displayed on an armor dummy, the health meter for those items are falling at an alarming rate. Priority Fix please. 3. Opening doors? Oh, no......!!! So spiders can now climb stairs? Brilliant! But I draw the line when it comes to opening doors and gates without permission. Now that is just plain rude. Please help. Poor George---my wolf spider friend---got out of his lovely den yesterday, went on a walk-about only to return to find the open gates closed tight. He was so sad. And he gets cranky when he doesn't get his three day nap. 4. Monster Grass re-spawning way too often and into/through surfaces. Yep. Cut one blade down. Uproot it. And by the time you've finished clearing your space, you turn around and face-plant into the same blade once again. Not only that....but three of his cousins have returned as well. Down! Bad Grass! 5. And lastly.....The ghost door in my castle. I know it's Halloween. But really? I just opened you a moment ago, facing outward. Now the curved mushroom brick half door has changed position, opening inward. Hmmmmm.......is that how George is getting out? Curved doors? Spooky!

  31. Thank you for feedback guys One thing is theory-crafting, and another actually playing through) In theory getting 6 focus per second is not much. It would take 37s to get to 220 focus; and Ascendant can be faster than that. But Psion generates focus even when casting or idling; which is doubly effective when multi-classed with another caster. And he can do that without investing much in MIG and DEX. For a ranged psion there is indeed no much difference. For a melee though... I wonder if it's worth increasing the length of focus generation pause a little bit (on getting crit) ------------- ------------- 19 stacks of Relentless feels a bit too much to me)

  33. Reactions to everything these days get blown waaaaaaay out of proportions. Social media is possibly the worst invention of the last 50 years. I mean, it's a tool, it can be used for good or bad, but in practice the bad has outnumbered the good by several country miles. There have always been extremists on every end of the spectrum, there have always been wackos, and there have always been trolls. In the past, these nut jobs were (mostly) confined to their little corner of the world. They might lose their **** at a town hall meeting, spray paint hateful messages on a wall, or whatever. This would be a headache for the folks living in that community, but that's as far as it usually went, outside of the few disturbed individuals ambitious and charismatic enough to become cult leaders. Social media has provided these lunatics a GIANT megaphone with which to pester the entire planet. Unfortunately, there is a decent chunk of the population that is easily swayed. So you get someone with a strong, possibly incendiary opinion. You have someone else with an equally incendiary reaction. In the past this would be a shouting match somewhere that may end with a fist fight (or worse in extreme cases). That would essentially be the end of it. Now you have scumbag profiteers jumping in online seeking an opportunity to gain power or profit from the conflict, trolls lighting fires on all sides because they get off on chaos, and a bunch of sheep me too-ing (no pun intended) because they are easily manipulated. To make matters worse, social media made all news instantaneous. Gone are the days of investigative journalism and fact checking. You gotta get the story out first. If you're not first you get no views, so just copy & paste that statement that may or may not be a complete fabrication, and post it as quickly as possible. If it turns out to be a lie we'll post a retraction that nobody will read, **** it.
