So about 12 hours now .. still no reaction, I feel perfectly fine. The injection site did end up becoming a little sore, it just took longer this time. So I'm going to say I'm like hubby and am not going to have any horrible side effects. I read an article where a doc. theorized that older people may (emphasis on may) have less reaction to the 2nd dose because of a higher chance of a weaker immune system to begin with or something like that. Don't know how plausible that really is but it sounds reasonable. Regardless of the reason...phew.3 points

Rich Evans has the voice of an angel. I considered putting up a Rich Evans Laugh Trigger Warning, but I didn't; not because I'm lazy, but because I wanted those uninitiated and unsuspecting to not have any warning.3 points

Here's a small preview: https://streamable.com/q8c3dq I've been looking at it for about a week now so I've kinda grown immune to it if there is any mistake you can spot from this short video, feel free to say it. I'm generally interested in how you guys think it looks, it's pretty much 90% done right now. Just adding last list of spells for various classes. I tried to make it require as little input as possible, most things are formulated and automated. You should be able to either make a high level character or low level based on your preference. Stats are calculated automatically. There are very minor few scripts running in the background so it's supposed to be mostly very fast to use. If I'm honest, scripts are non essential. My general idea was that people should be able to make a full character or a party without having to fire up the game and cross reference so I tried to add every useful information but unfortunately this is still not 100% true as it doesn't feature descriptions for the abilities yet. You will still need to look at abilities at either Wiki or in game. But for veterans out there it should still serve as a way to quickly share builds.2 points

A new Phoenix Point DLC released today, Festering Skies: https://store.steampowered.com/news/app/839770/view/3026960867714652838 Tempted to boot back up the torture room that can be Phoenix Point, actually enjoyed the game quite a bit. Read a little about the DLC and the changes that go with it the other day: I am sad they reduced the Sneak Attack damage to 50 % ... not sure how I could beat the final level on hard without the extra damage ... still not sure worth another play through, maybe after I finish Solasta, catch of on Troubleshooters, potentially play the new Wasteland 3 DLC, and somehow finish my stalled playthrough of POE1 ??? Lots of choices for gaming coming up2 points

You should play the expansions, Bruce. Tribunal has good story for a Bethesda game and dives more into the nerevarine prophecy stuff. And Bloodmoon changes the environment so you actually get a change of scenery.2 points

That is not happening, as societies get richer and more stable overall, people just stop wanting to have that many kids. In Europe this has been happening for like 40 or 50 years. The internet or "the promotion of dumb behavior" has nothing to do with it. I mean you either are so poor that you need extra kids as a work force, or you are rich enough that having kids stops being a financial and emotional burden. If you are in between (read "almost everyone in advanced economies"), you just aren't going to have that many kids. The fact of the matter is that the entrance of women into the work force has not increased families purchasing power as much as it should, especially considering that during the 20th century in advanced economies, kids went from being potential family income to dead weights (this is a good thing, in case you are wondering). People aren't having kids later because feminism is promoting it. People are leaving their parents' houses later and later because they can't afford it, they aren't having kids earlier because they can't afford it, and they aren't having more kids because they can't afford it. Real wages haven't kept pace with the growth of advanced economies in the past 50 years. That's it. If you want people to have more kids they have to make more money. Big companies across the board are making loads and loads more money every year, but that money isn't entering the economy in a real way. The Swedish government has been promoting having more kids for years, by the way. More money paid to families with more kids, more time at home with newborns, free child dental care, free college. Anecdotally, I can say that upper middle class families appear have more kids now. It is not uncommon for me to see 3+ kids families around. Still, they are not having 6+ kids, which I imagine would be necessary to offset all the families that have between 0 and 2 kids. There's only so much one can do if wages are low. https://www.epi.org/publication/charting-wage-stagnation/2 points

Indy was an homage to adventure serials of the 30s and 40s. The last Indy movie was intended to be an homage to sci-fi serials, I believe. It wasn't good because it wasn't very well written, not because it went with aliens and science fiction, specifically. Spielberg just got old, perhaps.2 points

@Boeroer I tested this over a year ago (maybe closer to two years, it was in the early stages of the Ultimate). Shadowing beyond from rogue never broke on dot ticks. However shadowing beyond from skaen priest breaks on dots even tho it looks exactly the same, maybe you played a rogue/priest? As to Brilliant Departure while its true that many non damaging abilities AND wall spells (even the damaging ones) won't break it, dots will break it, so it's not superior in every way to Shadowing beyond from rogue.2 points

Most of those generals went for being too closely associated with Trotsky (or perceived to be too close, or they looked at Yezhov/ Stalin the wrong way), who organised the military during the revolution. And contrary to Stalinist propaganda Trotsky wasn't exactly big on appointing generals with White sympathies to his Red army. The biggest soviet loss from the great purge was probably Tukhachevsky, who was 20 and in a German PoW camp when the Tsar was removed. The bigger counterpoint is that France almost certainly would have done better without her ossified WW1 generalship who insisted on trying to refight the last war, badly. It's no coincidence that 'Leclerc' and de Gaulle were pretty junior in WW1 (Leclerc literally, since he was 16 at its end) unlike Weygand/ Pétain et al. Even that doesn't really apply though, because the Soviet military leadership even pre-purge was a lot lot younger on average.1 point

Sakura is supposedly a lot like Nadeshiko. Spoiler for episode 16: Personally I don't see it based on the picture of her, but eh, it's okay. That's true. A lot of the show feels like it was carefully put together. The Twin Bells shop showing up when it makes sense is one of these details. The girls don't go to the mall to buy toys or such items or use any other throwaway shop. The go to Twin Bells, and Sakura and Tomoyo talk to the shop owner every now and then, and when they ask something that seemingly makes no sense to the shopowner she helps them anyway. In some other show they'd probably barge into the mall and ask something and the shopowner answers anyway, or is randomly helpful for no real reason. edit: It does have some ups and downs, and some questionable choices when it comes to the age of certain characters, but the level of care that went into making this sure shows. Apparently they even got the old team together for Clear Card, so while that might look bad, there's still a chance it might actually be good in spite of the looks. It's creeping into dubs, Usagi and Chibi-Usa yell Mamo-chan in the Sailor Moon Eternal trailer, and I think the German dub of Madoka has honorifics in it too (which makes it even weirder because we have our own honorifics, even if they're more limited than Japanese ones). Now if there's any non-Japanese animated show with Japanese characters written by non-Japanese writers who tack on honorifics because it's set there without any real idea how to use them... probably. I don't know any off-hand. Slight spoilers: I already forgot that thing with the lockbox... Slightly spoilerish thing:1 point

Okay, Tomoyo is like borderline...not psychotic exactly, but something like it for Sakura's sake.1 point

So now Tomoyo *and* her mom are both obsessed with Sakura...seems like the problem is genetic. The sight of her daughter grabbing Sakura's hand and leading her away was enough to drive the mom to literal tears. It's kind of messed up that the mom is only making time to see or interact with Tomoyo just because she wants to see Sakura...but I guess it's better than nothing! I love the attention to little details in this show in individual episodes, even if it sometimes makes setups a little predictable. For example, at the bus stop when Sakura gets off the bus, there's a very fancy gated wall to a property you can see right away and continue to notice as Sakura and Kero wander down the street, and I one hundred percent knew that that was going to be Tomoyo's property immediately upon seeing it long before it became clear to our characters. Or Tomoyo keeping Kero's love of cake in mind and taking a piece with her away from the table (without the show making any kind of active note of it but simply showing her demurely walking away with it) to bring to Kero in the next scene. They're little things that can be obvious to adult viewers and telegraph small bits of what will happen, but they help provide a sort of groundedness and sense to a medium that is often lacking enough of it. I wonder: are there animes in non-Japanese that try to tack on the honorifics in a horribly clumsy fashion? I hope so, but the seemingly unequal nature of their relationship would realistically make me fear that exactly what happened with both of their moms could very easily happen again to them and leave Tomoyo broken-hearted...but hopefully that's outside the timeframe of this show, .1 point

Diablo 2's synergy system was terrible. It was intended to make lower level skills useful late game (and disincentivize putting 1 point into lower skills and just hoarding skill points until later skills). But in practice synergies discourage build diversity because now you have to go all-or nothing into a few skills and their synergies to be viable for nightmare and beyond. (and many passives you still only ever need to put in one point because they never got synergies. and the handful of active abilities that get no synergies are basically dead in the water. and some synergies are still terrible - try making a golem necromancer) I clocked hundreds upon hundreds of hours grinding in Diablo 2, and I've made peace with the fact that despite its addictive loot-reward cycle, it is honestly just a very poorly designed game system. There are skills where the diminishing returns are so significant that at times you get 0 returns for several skill points.1 point

Most of you guys have probably heard of the unacceptable hijacking of the Bolivian Presidential jet over Europe in order to illegally [in that case actually illegally, per the Vienna Conventions on Diplomatic Relations] arrest an american citizen who had exposed a load of illegal surveillance by the NSA. But according to western authorities the plane was diverted because... everyone just spontaneously refused to allow it to transit their airspace. That is playing the "it wasn't forced down, they could always just stay in the air forever" card .... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Evo_Morales_grounding_incident1 point

Wait, is that a "real" "movie"? This isn't some sort of belated April Fools joke? Holy crap, that's significantly worse than the already hilariously awful Resident Evil: Afterlife ending.1 point

There's some early weirdness going on (including some conflicting information about when and where exactly Sakura's mother and father met). I think the flower rain in this episode stays even after the card is captured, but in later episodes anything summoned by cards disappears, which sometimes isn't much better in terms of how confusing that must be for the residents of Tomoeda, without ever being mentioned of course. Well, that's one hell of a difference. Maybe in another life - or when I finally upgrade my gear - I'll have enough disk space. Until then, streaming it is for space reasons. Same reason I stopped getting actual blu rays, or real books. I've used Netflix with several different smart devices, ranging from BR players to tablets to TVs, and some of them can't fully fill up the progress bars, even if you fast forward through all the credits. Certain Amazon Video clients on TVs have the same issue, or even worse, while they can continue from an episode or film you've left off, doing so doesn't complete the progress bar of the episode, making it impossible to resume on some other device without manually switching the episodes (after making sure that progress bar is completed, of course!). It's frustrating. They also dropped the Leave it to Kero-Chan! segment now. Could have done that earlier. It was never really interesting but my brain forced me to watch it anyway.1 point

6.2d happened in the wee hours this AM, 'cause there were a problem with 6.2c. so far it looks like class fixes are not a priority, although a few classes have been rendered... humorous. demonslayers now have favored enemy: outsiders. the thing is, favored enemy: outsiders is applying to hit and damage bonuses 'gainst all outsider but for demons. to get bonuses v. demons you need select one of three new demon-specific favored enemies: slaughter, strength, magic. am having no idea what demons correspond to which category save through guessing. regardless, the demonslayer cannot choose those three options. demonslayer gets vanilla outsiders for favoured enemy, which is literal all outsiders but for demons. a class feature o' the nomad (ranger) is a horse animal companion. no animal companion for nomads, horse or otherwise. am continuing to have camp issues with companion inventory and spell book access, but such is no surprise. am a bit discouraged by how respec is still busted if you have an animal companion. as far as am able to tell, is more than a few aspects being bungled by animal companions. of course Gromnir has been playing animal companion focused builds, so... mythic second spirit and second mystery is still not capable o' selection for shaman nor oracle. loremaster is now on the prestige class list. cannot select even if you meet prereqs. etc. it does appear a few o' the geometry fails has been addressed. no specific patch notes for 6.2d, so am not certain what were fixed, but am s'posing the 6.2c link included should cover numerous fixes. the snow in the beta looks nice. makes us more (if only a tiny bit) convinced next ap will be reign of winter. HA! Good Fun!1 point
