  1. Excel and Google Sheets are not the same thing, some things that work in Excel will work in Google Sheets as well but they will require different implementation, different formulation. This is true both ways so not much I can do about it if you intend to use it as an Excel. It started as an Excel file but in the end I specifically chose Google Sheets over Excel because it would be much easier to distribute and release updates in the future, it doesn't require anyone to download anything which some might be skeptical or they simply can't download it even if they wanted it because they are at work or whatever. Also, I'm currently working on expanding the ability tree(6 cells instead of 4). As well as working on a better summary with a very simple initial version of equipment manager(weapons and chest armor only). .
  2. About 10 days ago I started this project simply because I wanted to do a modded POTD run and I wanted to properly plan for it. But instead of looking for a pen and paper I started looking for a spreadsheet and when I couldn't exactly find what I was looking for, I decided to make one instead. It was fun having a small project like this and I'm glad how it turned out to be. What it does: Allows you to make a character at any level of your choice. You can choose active and passive abilities based on class restrictions and it also gives you a summary of your character without any buffs. Tab 1 is strictly for player character only therefore it will not feature companion only subraces, cultures, backgrounds and so on. Tabs will automatically rename to their corresponding character's name, so in a sense it gives you a pseudo party view once you're done with all of them. I also tried to guide the user as much as I could, for example, you will not be able to put more skill points than you should have or you can't put more than 18 or less than 3 points into a single attributes, but obviously your total attributes can exceed those numbers. Most cells are auto-populated so it actually requires very little input from the user. What it doesn't do: At the moment it can't differentiate between an adventurer and a companion. So the user is expected to know that stuff like Watershaper or Principi sen Patrena shouldn't be selected for non companion party members. It also can't give you a description of selected passive or active abilities, so the user is expected to know what they actually do beforehand, currently I have no idea how I can overcome this. What it might do in the future: Ideally in the future I'd like to add weapon proficiencies and their modals as well as a list of all unique items. And maybe eventually turn it into a full on equipment manager which would be very nice because then you would be able to see your buffed stats. Go to File > Make a Copy Unfortunately at the moment I have no plans of making one (converting this one) for the first game. Leave a message here or just DM me if you think something is not working the way it should or if you have an idea. It has very few scripts and after the initial load it should be quite fast to use.
  3. Oh, yeah you can. Just empty the secondary class selection and automatically subclass selection as well as ability tree will reset back. Since the last message I increased the file size a bit by duplicating the sheet and had to increase amount of scripts slightly and now they are unfortunately mandatory for sheet to function properly. Also fixed some grave errors which I've missed until the last second. But in return now you can make all characters in single file and keep a better track of it and your character name will automatically become tab name, so it's kinda like pseudo party view.
  4. Hello again. I think it's pretty much done. Since the last video I added Berath's Blessing for both Attributes and Skills. Added companion only Subrace, Culture, Background and Subclass. Tidied it up a bit and tried to give each table a more distinct look so everything doesn't blend into each other. If anyone wants to test it real quick give me a shout and if there is nothing wrong with it, it's pretty much ready for release.
  5. Here's a small preview: https://streamable.com/q8c3dq I've been looking at it for about a week now so I've kinda grown immune to it if there is any mistake you can spot from this short video, feel free to say it. I'm generally interested in how you guys think it looks, it's pretty much 90% done right now. Just adding last list of spells for various classes. I tried to make it require as little input as possible, most things are formulated and automated. You should be able to either make a high level character or low level based on your preference. Stats are calculated automatically. There are very minor few scripts running in the background so it's supposed to be mostly very fast to use. If I'm honest, scripts are non essential. My general idea was that people should be able to make a full character or a party without having to fire up the game and cross reference so I tried to add every useful information but unfortunately this is still not 100% true as it doesn't feature descriptions for the abilities yet. You will still need to look at abilities at either Wiki or in game. But for veterans out there it should still serve as a way to quickly share builds.
  6. I personally loved D:OS2 but I kinda agree with the sentiment. It's the purchase that counts, but also word of mouth is always good. If you feel bad about a game you're naturally more inclined to not recommend it to anybody, at least talk in a manner that underlines the faults but not the good stuff. Anybody here right now knew what they were getting when they first bought POE1 but a lot of people didn't. So even though the reviews are high and it's highly praised, a lot of people who bought it ended up regretting it. So for those people, buying Deadfire wasn't even an option, they didn't even consider it. I'm sure we all have Whatsapp groups, Steam/Discord friends here. From my point of view, pretty much half of the people who purchased the game ended up not playing for various reasons while the other half has multiple hundreds of hours in it. Also the big part of D:OS2's massive success was its ability to allow up to 4 man co-op gameplay. It's obviously not the scope of POE, but pretty much any time I suggest it to someone first question I get is related to multiplayer/co-op.
  7. First, why don't this website has some sort of Steam implementation so I can sign in through Steam? Second, why are we downloding 600MB for a simple hotfix? I mean this is not even a proper patch it's just a hotfix? Here I was happy that the game got a huge patch, removed bugs, provided some QoL features and then I come here and all my dreams are crushed. Not cool.
