Cop resigns after video shows him slamming his K-9 into a patrol car, NC police say ‘It was crying.’ Officer seen punching K-9 in face under investigation, CA cops say First off.... the only good reason to strike a dog is if you are being attacked. Or someone/thing else is. Never, EVER strike a dog as some kind of discipline. First off it's ineffective and counter productive. They will shut down on you and whatever point you were trying to make will not be received. Second of all is destroys the trust you've built up. It damages your relationship with the dog. Third, it is just cruel. A dog that loves a person will lie there and be beaten to death before raising even a tooth to defend itself. It takes an utter monster to beat a dog like that. It's no different from beating a helpless child. These two cops are the exact kind that give the profession a bad name. These are the kinds that would beat a suspect to death, shoot a man in the back and be genuinely surprised anyone took issue with it. Far too many cops are incapable of empathy. If you cannot muster up any for your canine partner you certainly won't have any for the public.4 points

I watched a few videos on nuTrek and now I keep getting recommendations for Trek bashing stuff. Problem is that most of it is culture war/libs ruin everything crap. I'm looking for an honest critique on what did and didn't work and why or why not and not rants about diversity or whatever intensity of they will not replace us. I get enough of that in the political thread.4 points

I also experienced that: I wanted to go to Ashen's Maw super early to grab Ajamuut's Stalking Cloak before doing Hasongo, but that advanced the main storyline automatically skipping the whole Hasongo thing (i.e. when you arrive at Ashen's Maw even before Hasongo you can see Eothas in the background and if you go far enough in Ashen's Maw you can't go back the way you came, you have to go talk to Eothas). So it's better to rush Hasongo (e.g. with Stealth) and get the bonuses there, then Ashen's Maw if you want to get Ajamuut early.2 points
-
If you go to Ashen Maw first there is some unique dialogue from your companions (because they did not see the footprints on Hasongo, this is their first time seeing the size of the colossus). If you go back to Hasongo at this point, you restore the adra but there is no conversation with Eothas. I didn't play much further on that playthrough, and didn't finish Ashen Maw. Notably, you don't get Gift from the Machine and Effigy's Resentment back because there is no Eothas to talk to at Hasongo, if ever.2 points

If you don't use brilliant Fighter/Bloodmage is the safest multiclass. Wall of draining will extend anything op: Extending Unbending makes you immortal because everytime you get hit it will get added to the heal you already have. Extenhding Blade cascade will give you alotta damage Extending Deltro's will give you alottas sister Extending bdd potion for fights where you take injuries (can't die even with 3 injuries.2 points
-
All the mage multiclasses are eminently doable with blood mage. Fighter (as tactician) is doable, thought it may involve your fair share of cheese depending on your setup. (Fighter/Cipher less so since they can flank everyone with abilities). I think any chanter option revolves around summons. My best reckoning is that rogue/mage is probably the most powerful - you get escape options and synergy with invisibility and various wizard spells, and if all else fails you can take down some of the hardest foes with just one Gouging Strike iirc (you may need berath's challenge on, i forget); probably assassin/blood mage.2 points

Well those videos I posted disappeared really fast. >.> So here's a simply "cute" video (not funny), because the way Cole loves being petted/does biscuits + close up expressions just makes me melt. Been watching the channel a while and I hope he beats his illness. Sounds hopeful.2 points

Thanks for reply guys, really appreciate all the answers. Have been sitting there for hours, trying to decide and come up with builds. I went with Paladin/Bloodmage. Was a tough choice whether to take Paladin or Fighter together with bloodmage. But i have other variants lined up, for next run after this. Considering between Rogue/Cypher and Paladin/Chanter next.1 point

Just for clarification, I agree with you completely, @Jayd. I would never suggest that one not get Killers. I always pick this talent whenever I play a skald. But I was suggesting that the upgrade isn't worth it. But that is a debatable point. I like Ben Fidel for the -10 to all defenses combined with the frightened affliction. I use Killers all the time for mobs, and typically save Ben Fidel for the tougher foes.1 point

You can click each of your 100 minions, the profile will be the original one. And yes, if they do something minions shouldn't, you can recognize the agent animation for that action.1 point

Seriously though, disabling the tutorial, while making the start a lot harder, improves the game a lot. But they need serious balancing work. You build an infirmary. The basic medbed requires 10 power. The power generator you can build at the start of the game produces? 10 power. You want to train guards? You need a prison with a holding cell and an interrogation chair. Those will require a power generator to cover their power needs. You will need a training room, and as the punching bag requires another 4 power, you'll build another power generator. The chalkboard to train a scientist is 4 power, so that generator covers it. But to equip the research lab to do the requires tier 1 research to get to tier 2 research and the new power generators? That will require two generators worth of power. Of course you have at this point built a generator to cover the cantina, two generators for the ops room... So not having wasted energy and build more than the bare minimum of power using items and no traps, you have built 10 generators instead of maybe 4 in the old game?1 point

Two things improve Evil Genius tenfold. 1) Turning off the tutorial. The message spam decreased. The annoying minion pop-up taking up too much space? Gone! The whole game becomes a lot less annoying. If I hadn't bought in on GMG, which didn't allow a refund (and it is the first time I thoroughly re-read the EULA to see if there was a chance), I would have refunded this game at 30 minutes playtime. Without the tutorial, and messing with keybinds, I played an hour without wanting to punch the devs. 2) Accepting that the game is not so much an Evil Genius sequel, rather a Protoss Base Simulator. The frequency with which the game tells me that I need additional pylons... erh power generators, is so starcrafty it can't but be intentional.1 point

My current Steam review for Evil Genius 2. It may be unfair. But do I care? The game looks pretty. Prettier than many base building games. Sadly that is what it has going for it.Controls are wonky. Having recently replayed the original game, everything about the controls in this one felt off.The game allows you to rotate the camera by keyboard with the Q and E keys or by mouse by holding the mouse wheel. Pretty standard - until you try to rotate while in build mode. Then keyboard rotation is blocked. Why?Some menues I can close with ESC. Not all menues. The UI is intrusive. It takes up too much of the screen when I would like to have room to see what I am building. The tutorial pop ups make things worse. Especially as, after having popped up, you can't make it go away. Traditionaly, when a message pops up, you are allowed to click OK. Not here. It is there to stay until it decides that it wants to leave. Of course it won't stay gone. It pops right back up. Again and again. Because large flashing messages increase your enjoyment of the game...Alerts for the world map will show up, but you can't tell what they are. Yo jsut know something is going on, not what. You may get a generic alert icon persistently sitting there on your screen that doesn't alert you to anything. So within the first couple of hours, the game is training you to ignore it.In preview videos - and there were a lot of amazing preview videos - the developer talked about the old game and how it forced you to build rows upon rows of lockers to get minions. How you ahd to build so many power generators. This game would slim that all down. Indeed. You build multiple lockers at once. Generators are slimmer. Yet, I have in the first hour, build rows upon rows of lockers, just as I would in the first game. Perhaps more. And I definitely have build more generators than I would throughout a whole game of Evil Genius 1, while still following the tutorial.I am not going to criticise the changes to the world map. I haven't seen enough of it to judge whether long term they make sense. Do I want to find out? There may be fun down the road. But with the way the UI is and the controls work, my eyes are too tired and I am too frustrated to care.1 point

Same here. Playing on Xbox One X. Constantly crashes when saving either manual or auto. Unable to finish Murder on Eridanos. I tried not fighting enemies, that got me a little further. But then there was a boss battle. Killed the boss and crashed. I've loved this game. It's very frustrating to be so close to finishing it and not be able to. I hope they release a patch soon!1 point
-
I also tried all of the suggestions such as deleting auto saves and restarting dlc entirely. This did not help and the game still crashes at the exact same location and does not allow me to create any new saves. Really upsetting and infuriating. I will be quitting this game until it gets fixed. Huge disappointment!1 point

I just started a brand new play through. I’ll update when I get to the same point as my old file.1 point

I had been playing relatively crash free. However when I try to enter Piraeus Spaceport the game crashes shortly after loading into the zone. It only seems to do it when my character moves around or interacts with things. But I didn't just go there to stand around. This is blocking all forward progress. I'm on Xbox One X. And I have encountered crashes in this game before. But none like this one. It's concentrated on this zone. And is as stated before. Blocking all forward progress. My worry is that Obsidian just tossed this in the corner and won't be addressing the issue. Leaving me with a broken game experience.1 point

I'm afraid I experience the same issue on Xbox Series X. The game crashes for me near the end of the game when saving (both manual or autosave): The game was working fine till that area. The answer to the questions are as follows: 1. What kind of playthrough have you followed for this save file? Are you killing every NPC that you encounter or are you trying to help everybody? Helping everyone. All subquests for DLC are completed. 2. How much time have you spent on this save file so far? (You can see your Playtime when loading your save file) and roughly, how much of that time was spent on the DLC? 2 days, 3 hours, 20 minutes; 8 - 9 hours for the DLC 3. How far has your character progressed in the game? (Your level? What quest are you currently on? etc.) Level 36. 4. Have you completed the Peril on Gorgon DLC on this save file? Yes. 5. Is this a rollback saves? Meaning that the save was previously at Tartarus, but you created a new pre-Tartarus save? No. The save I've started with was on the ship before opening navigation console to go to Tartarus 6. How many save files in total do you have for Outer Worlds, autosaves included? 9. 7. Are your save files stored on your Xbox's hard drive or on an external drive? Xbox hard drive. 8. Are you playing The Outer Worlds through Game Pass? No. 9. Have you played in-between the release of version 1.5.0 (March 15th) and 1.5.1 (March 17th before 12pm GMT-5) No. 10. Was your save file created on Xbox One or Xbox Series? I've started from a save point before Tartarus which was created on Xbox One. Then I've saved the game for the Murder on Eridanos in a new save slot on Xbox Series X1 point

Not sure how these questions relate to the game crashing. I'm not very technically minded when it comes to gaming, perhaps someone on this forum might be able to make more sense of this. I appreciate them trying to help but I'd rather see solutions than questions.1 point

Stove they are aware for a while now. I have been going back and forth with them since last week and they have not even acknowledged that their is a problem, even with all of the people saying there is one and it is basically the same issue across the board of constant crashing and being unable to save (due to crashing when trying to save). I am hoping they resolve it but from what I have seen so far from them I will not get my hopes too high.1 point

I've emailed Obsidian about this and they have passed my query on to Private Division. I'll post with an update when I have it. If you look at the reviews of this DLC on Xbox store there are similar complaints and 1 star reviews. It's happening to lots of players. I will make Private Division aware of this (maybe they already are) when they get back to me. Real shame, really love this game, I'm sure it will get sorted.1 point

Same issue on Xbox Series X, except happening at Piraeus Spaceport. I've used an older save, hard reset the device, and done a full uninstall/reinstall of game and all DLC. No other noticeable issues.1 point

Murder on Eridanos | Outer Worlds v1.5.1.696 | Xbox Series X - Insider Beta ring As soon as I cross the bridge to Purpleberry Orchards, I can no longer save without the game crashing. Auto saves also crash the game after that point. There is a noticeable stutter while crossing the bridge, and from that very point on the game will just crash whenever a save attempt is made. All my previous saves work fine.1 point

XBoxSx and I’m have the exact same issue except at the end of the game. Seriously. I’ve progressed through all of it without issue and then last night it hit a wall. Or more specifically, a brick. Every time it tries to auto save or I try to manually save it kicks me out completely. I am a devoted TOW fan and I’m super disappointed such a game breaking bug is happening with this last dlc.1 point
-
Good luck with that Krag. The constant crashing is happening to a lot of people. If I try to go to purpleberry orchards it crashes, I went to the hotel - crashed 4 times before finally letting me in, try to go to VIP floor either crashes as soon as you choose floor or get to floor and crashes within 30-45 seconds. The entire game is just bug central right now. Good thing they got our money already huh. Edit: forgot to add any attempt at saving crashes the game as well.1 point

I am having the same problem. I also am on the Xbox series x and have experienced consistent game crashes at a specific point in the new dlc. Super frustrating to have to wait so long for something that doesn’t even work.1 point

Murder on Eridanos, the quest Naked Hunch, repeated crashes on two different xbox devices during this quest. Approaching the door to enter the building after fighting several people and critters, within some close proximity to the door the games crashes without fail. Is this a bug in the game or a corruption somewhere in the save file? It is not just the map location, as the same character had earlier been in the location without any crashes - it crashes in this area with this quest. Duplicated on two different xboxs, but with the same character and save files. Any help is appreciated. Krag1 point

Murder on Eridanos crashing for me too, on Xbox/S. Get as far as the bell hop or try to return to The Unreliable, it crashes and takes me back to the Xbox home page.1 point

It is not just you two. I am on Xbox One. Many, many people are having the crash issue either while playing or when attempting to save. I have a report in and they keep asking questions that should have no part in causing the issue. They seriously need to fix the game as it is bugged to high heaven at the moment. 1 star since you can't rate any lower and will stay that way until the game actually works.1 point

I'm playing Outer Worlds newest DLC murder on Eridanos and my game keeps crashing. How do I fix this? Please I waited so long to play it. I'm playing on. Xbox. Series X. This shouldn't even be an issue.1 point
