To mirror the authentic Bloodlines(TM) experience, Obsidian will develop the first two acts, and Bethesda will develop the final two acts.4 points

Active as most Obsidian devs are here in this forum, wouldn't we have suspected something if they were working on Vampire?4 points

There's a barbecue joint across the street ftom the truck stop I'm at in Illinois. I wasn't thrilled by their cole slaw but the potato salad was good and the brisket was great.2 points

Scrolls that impactful also have ridiculously short recovery times. I actually hate it when consumables copy the effects of class abilities. If I had to decide consumables would do something entirely different than abilities. Scrolls are way too good still. It's a pain to balance I assume, too.2 points

I like Skyrim for what it is. I hate their take on Fallout. Morrowind is probably the best game they made. Yet it doesn't change the fact that their quest design is always shallow and mostly about having you trek over the whole worldmap time and time again while you experience their randomly slapped together theme park game worlds.2 points

Ahh, the good old Epic40K days (the first Games Workshop game I played like 30 years ago). Our resident Imperial Guard player had 3 squadrons of Baneblades, Shadowswords and other super heavies (we played large armies back then, sometimes fielding 20000 points a side in a battle). Still no match for my Ork army on a day where Gork and Mork favoured my dice rolls. On a bad day... I wiped my own army in my own first turn without the opponent ever firing a shot2 points

There's a great joke in SuperS: So yeah, that theory has some merit. YouTube just recommended me this: Well. She can't sing and there's no accounting for taste (the artwork does leave a lot to be desired and the music is just plain annoying in my opinion) but I still laughed.1 point

For a rymgrand priest multi, definitely berseker. Come on, dual summoned axe scream for barbarian . And berseker is just great for an offensive spellcaster.1 point

passover is still a month away, so why post? HA! Good Fun!1 point

That's a really interesting idea. Wizard doesn't actually add much to the build, as the priest bonus spells and the cool wiz spells for the concept overlap. I was thinking Helwalker, but I have to give the zealot idea more thought now. Maybe go with stealth and slight of hand and enable the pick pocket blessing to see if it's any good. Or stealth/mechanics and try using traps for once instead of just selling them.1 point

We'll probably see a new edition in a year or two, and I'll bet a videogame gets released around the same time or shortly after.1 point

Now if they could just appeal to the people that like RPGs in the DA universe...1 point

Great news for this most enjoyable franchise They must stick to what works and not be too concerned with trying to appeal to everyone like those that expect MP in the DA universe1 point

You could feasibly equip Reckless Brigandine or One Dozen Stood for engagement slots. Chanters can sing Silver Knights' Shields. Later on you have Maura's belt as well from FS. Throw in a Whitewitch Mask and you can do something similar to Trickster disengagement attack cheese from the terrify effect.1 point

You are mistaken. There's a legacy choice as to whether you infiltrated them or killed them all. If you infiltrated them, Aloth will say "If only we could find another hapless initiate who lost his hood". Otherwise, he comments on the bloodshed.1 point

Oh, yes, right. Forgot again. Kino Makoto: Well Kino means Wood's in this context (Jupiter being Wood Star in Japanese, do you see a trend yet?). What Makoto was supposed to mean exactly is a bit problematic because unlike the other girls her name is only ever written in hiragana - without a kanji to differentiate and no context to glean meaning from, the closest one would probably be sincerity or faithfulness. For those that don't know (which I'm guesing is potentially IC here in this thread) Hiragana is one of the three Japanese letter/writing systems where every character represents a syllable (sort of, it's not really a syllable in our sense, but as far as approximations go that's okay enough). It's entirely possible to write only in Hiragana, like Usagi does just to show you that she's not the brightest of students. Normal Japanese writing has Kanji for nouns and verbs, with Hiragana for conjugations and particles. So with Hiragana only able to provide how you pronounce a word, not what meaning it should have in the case of homophones we can't exactly know. Unless Naoko Takeuchi noted it somewhere. *shrug*1 point

Imo summons are always worth it. Summons nearly always have a big impact because you add additional bodies to the battle. Think about them as "living" CC effects that take out enemies who attack them for a very long time compared to other effects. Even if their dmg is not super good Dichotomous Soul twins are still very useful because they are rel. sturdy dudes and you get two for one cast. Necklace doesn't make their dmg better on average. It's just fun but unreliable. If they both get a ranged weapon they can't even tank properly. I guess giving them some +engagement gear could be useful maybe?1 point

One of my dream games would be a fully co-op version of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. - that would take away from the horror slightly but I think it would be a good game.1 point

You'd probably need BDD then, since you'd be walloped with a mega spike of raw damage. Or just keep suppressing it as thelee suggests. The nice thing about FF is you get a really combo of defense and offense. Due to your high RES, your deflection is high, and when afflictions land they don't last long, and heal you and give you a wound when they expire. But the FF ability you get a really powerful single target attack which you can use throughout the entire. The cipher multi gives you a great mix of offense and defense as well.1 point

Was wondering how much coke he was on before I got to the emeritus part. Our emeritus prof used his security to verbally abuse us all "Why are you here instead of community college?" "This equation's virtue is AMPERE'S LAW YOU HOMUNCULI" "Asking me that question shows you are too stupid to be taking this course" Was good fun. As he's telling us we're ignorant trogolodytes barely worthy of life, everyone's just staring ahead immune to it all1 point

Because it's an ability that has its own base damage (your current weapon is not used when executing FF) you can also use Lance of the Midwood Stag in order to get 2 additional power levels via "Lord of the Forest". You'll hold the pike in your hands but you can still use the FF ability and it will still use the Unarmed bonuses and will scle with 2 more PLs.1 point

Damage over time does not work. Shining Beacon, Cleansing Flame, Holy Radiance vs vessels etc. all do not work. Try Divine Mark or Pillar of Holy Fire.1 point

As someone for whom BG3 is meh but who loves the Forgotten Realms and craves an FR game (which is not the same as craving a D&D game), Obsidian making NwN3 is exactly what I myself have been hoping for.1 point

If you can keep the Streetfighter flanked or bloodied (or both) then the Streetfighter variant will do more melee dps. But besides shorter recovery the Streetfighter will not do much for your spellcasting. If you want to use Barring Death's Door + Salvation of Time in combination with Streetfighter and Pallid Fate then Streetfighter is a good pick though. I would rather keep DEX rel. high and lower something else like MIG a bit (you already can get +15 MIG via Helwalker passive and Thunderous Blows).1 point
-
Would this combo need much dex at all? Probably makes sense to not dump (and maybe invest in) resolve for melee, but would it be ok to keep dex at 10 since we already have slow recovery with heavy armor?1 point

From your post and replies it sounds like you will like the Contemplative more. Yeah the symbol spells are nuts but the gameplay really is cast symbol -> diddle around with other spells as appropriate as stuff dies. If you want to experience that you have Xoti and Vatnir to hang out with (multiple priests in a party can be cool because they can specialise in healing/buffs/damage). The Contemplative will be a more unique and interesting gameplay experience.1 point

It also depends how you want to play. If you indeed want to have fun in melee AND do great casting then the Helwalker/Berath combo is def. better than an SC Priests. Helwalker is great for casters but it's also great for weapon users so imo it's the natural pick for a melee/caster hybrid. Another one would be Barbarian/Berath but I think that's so off thematically (Frenzy and Rage vs. rational and stoic) that it would be no option for me. Armor: there's a nice plate armor that's 100% Berath themed and it's called the Blackened Plate. It also has a helmet but it's not mandatory to wear it with the plate. From the top of my head I don't know any other armor that shouts "Berath"; but since you can color-tint a good amount of armors to your liking it's not a big deal - at least visually.1 point

am kinda an opposite number to enoch as am doing law stuff to mildly annoy the state. a wee bit sweary most days, our profession is to let lou (the government) beat on us 'til he becomes exhausted or so frustrated as to make capitulation a reasonable course o' action. HA! Good Fun! ps doesn't pay well but at least we lose the respect o' our professional peers.1 point

I'm a kindergarten teacher, or whatever the correct term in English is. My kindergarten section has children from 4-5 years old, and I spend my days playing cards, soccer, and going on long hikes with the kids. Basically I just try to spend as much time as possible outdoors - so I can spend the rest of my day in front of the computer/tv with a clean conscience! I have a bachelor's degree + 2 years of pedagogy.1 point
