So far, I can say I like this character better than ComradeMaster and SonicMage. But I also liked Minsc.4 points

I like Minsc. Edwin is a moron though, even if powerful and useful. But the one i loathe is Anomen. And i think anyone who likes to use Anomen or even ugh likes him, should be forever locked away in solitary cell somewhere.3 points

I have 30 hours in now. I've lost my first game and I'm into my second now. On the whole, it is a great game. I spent 60-70 hours in Imperator Rome so I was able to slip right into this pretty easy. But if you are not familiar with Paradox games like EU, Stellaris, and CK2 there is a TON of details and a steep learning curve to climb. The tutorial does a good job of teaching the basics. It's 20 minutes well spent. So here is my tips based on what I've seen: Remember above all else you are playing a King/Queen, NOT a Kingdom. You have to roleplay the part. That might not sound like a distinction but you will find it is. The objective is the survival of your House first. Conquering and the 4X's are a means to an end rather than the end itself. NPC ARE the game. Interact with them as much as you can. Intrigue is a big part of the game. Hooks and plots are very useful Knights: you NEED them. They make the difference between battles won and lost. Pay attention you who your counselors are. When they screw up it hurts. Also I don't know what the hardest start is but Alto Aragorn in in the running. You only weaker neighbor is an ally AND your cousin. The Islamic counties are all stronger than you and will go to war with you really quickly. I know several of you guys are playing. What are your thought?2 points

Because I'm that weird guy, I'm playing Kingdom's of Amalur Re-Reckoning. It's actually not too bad. Then again, I'm not too picky as long as the game accommodates my Archer/Mage fetish fairly decently. Skyrim does not, this game does.2 points

I also didn't like Minsc, he displays may symptoms of low functioning autism. But I also don't like Baldurs Gate, the game has an interesting view of what evil is, I would just tell rude people to f off and when they became belligerent I defended myself. Then I met Minsc, who was standing around for weeks at that point in the same spot. When I told him that his witch was probably dead (a reasonable assumption due to the amount time passed) He flew into one of his autistic rage episodes and attacked me, after putting the mentally deficient bastard down the whole town's guard came after me. Apparently acts of self defense are not lawful in Baldurs Gate.2 points

How about a set of binoculars say out of sap and either clovers or plant fiber (sap to hold it together)and to get the lens pieces maybe like harvest with a hammer or similiar on the mag lens and get very small pieces that break off allowing you to use in the make shift frame but it doesnt damage the mag lens per say because the chipping done is on such small scale?1 point

Second best mod behind coloured education icons. I'm out again after a short-ish India game. The last straw was that the AI exploits a bug where if multiple titles are held, each with their own custom inheritance law, it bypasses Partition for that title, and that way realms are artificially kept together on succession. For example, if you hold the Kingdoms of England (primary) and France and have two sons, normally the firstborn would get England and the second France. But if you assign a custom inheritance law for France even if it's the same law as the rest of the realm anyway, France will also go to the firstborn. So just assign the Male Preference law to all your titles and voila, effective instant Primogeniture. The AI doing this particularly sucks if you're playing an intrigue character and are trying to split up your enemies via murder. Meanwhile in Europe, some random Emir successfully took Rome in the first few decades of the game. The Pope, who easily had more men and more gold than his conqueror, responded by calling a Crusade for Jerusalem. Then one for Syria. Meanwhile, that Emir (who wasn't particularly strong) just quietly continued gobbling up the Pope's lands over the next decade or so essentially unopposed (presumably the Pope's men were preoccupied in the Holy Lands), and around 50-100 years after the game started there is no longer any Pope. Yeah, no one in Catholic Europe cares even slightly about Rome falling, big brain move by the Pope there. My intention was to play in India to let me avoid most of the stupidity that is the game's broken religion system (since all my neighbours are some variant of Hindu, religion becomes irrelevant), but it does get kinda dull because there are no interesting special mechanics that apply to India. It's just the vanilla CK2 experience of fabricating claims and installing the occasional claimant. Time to take a break.1 point

Combat is very "meh" imho, and since they revamped it and removed the "cheese tactics" (basically perma-stun on most non-boss enemies, combined with how hard bleeds hit) I consider it mostly a nuisance as it really pushes you to just be the cheerleader of your Thralls (which are *much* stronger than you, so letting them do the work make sense, it's just not very engaging. Though I think they were messing with remediating this. Somewhat, anyway). The exploration, world building and well, building aspects are great though. One thing of note is that due to how long things take it might be worth considering running your own server (if you have a PC somewhere that is on 24/7). If you combine that with some tuning of stuff for a more single-player experience (wish there was a way to decrease requirements of only "common" resources though, and leaving the "rare" alone, but I digress) it takes a lot of the slog out of it since you can just queue a bunch of work and let it process overnight. It has a few other advantages, or rather, it does away with some major disadvantages of single-player too, namely that everything despawns once you go too far from an area. This can, of course, be (ab)used to get the spawns you want, on the other hand it also means that if there's multiple desirable thralls in a location you can't really grab all of them since the rest will despawn while you drag the first to camp (even if you knock them all out). If you run a local server otoh, it really does work like a "real" server with all the perks as well (like stuff being actually persistent, at least until you restart the server) Of course, the major drawback is that the server software is a technical disaster and leaks memory like a sieve, so you kinda have to restart the thing at least once a week anyway. As for things I usually tune (off the top off my head): thrall breaking speed (think it's usually set at 0.25 of normal) resource requirements (0.5 or 0.25) how quickly the purge bar fills (if you want purges at all, if not, well, you can just turn them off. Worth noting the best Thralls can only be acquired from purges, and yes, they are better than normal "named" thralls) how often you need to drink (food isn't as much of a nuisance, the defaults for water otoh...) Of note, all the numbers in the server tuning window are multipliers, so 1.00 is 100%, so if you want to speed things up you don't make it 2.00, you make it 0.5 to double the speed.1 point

I found something rather important I didn't know about. When you start a new game on the lower right there is a Game Rules box. Click that and you can customize away some of the annoying and historically inauthentic things the games does. For instance you can limit diplomatic interactions to rulers within a reasonable distance. You can also make cultural and religious conversions rare and painstaking (as they should be). The game's defaults are sort of "anything goes" which I didn't like. I hardly noticed until Venice became Orthodox in my last game. WTF? The freaking Pope is just next door!1 point

Started up the single-player Conan Exiles to see what its like and pick up how it works, spent about 5 hours collected stone and tree stuff, killing a few things built a small house at that first river/lake area to get to grips with how things work. Am kind of disappointed in the combat so far - yes, its somewhat brutal, but it does feel very random hack and slashy. I'd have expected something a bit more elegant and gruesome from a Conan game.1 point

The clone is the instance of the game object that gets created when you add chars to your party (I guess). When Ydwin got killed it may be that this clone with that special name got removed from the list of game objects or only from the list of characters. Instead of FindCharacter you can try FindGameObject to see if you can find one with the name of Ydwin and see if you can use that name in the AddToParty command. if that doesn't work: I don't know how you can manually create a new clone (like Companion_Ydwin(Clone1) or something) and add it to the party. There should be the "blueprint" of Ydwin somewhere as game object from which you can create new clones and then add those to the party. Don't know the console command to achieve that. Maybe it isn't even there. Maybe it can be done with the AddToParty command directly. No idea. But maybe this info helps when googling.1 point

I found last night's game to be a bit boring, too. Over the past few years, it seems like watching the first half of the season is not really worthwhile in terms of general viewing (i.e. outside your favorite team/s), and it's only the back-half of the season and the playoffs that things get more compelling (...and teams really start playing how they should be).1 point

Re: Dune trailer, worth remembering that a lot of the red flags on this trailer were also present in the Blade Runnner 2049 trailers, which also felt designed to make that film look more like an action sci-fi than it actually turned out to be. As a hype piece I reckon it's okay, there's a lot of Hollywood trailer mannerisms in it including the brooding FM classic rework that I don't care for, but we'll have to wait and look at the film to see how much it aligns with the end result.1 point

individuals in the media and public are, for the most part, not surprised by trump's brobdingnagian ignorance and willful obtuseness. how could anybody be surprised at this point? individual examples do continue to shock, but the ignorance and corruption is not surprise worthy. is misplaced faith in human nature which propels journalists forward to continue doing their job in spite o' daily proof such doesn't matter. there is also a duty to current and future generations to speak truth to power. media keeps presenting such stories because is their job to do so and 'cause there is a collective and a mistaken belief that trump supporters, and other shiboleth wielding troglodytes, are people capable o' reason. surely this new story is impossible to ignore. HA! and again, please recognize how truth which is so elusive in 2020 will be far less blurry in 2030. journalists is not speaking only to bruce today but to older and wiser bruce decades remote. in the past we were told trump lies weren't lies w/o documents and witnesses and tapes to support such claims. got witnesses? well, they is all liars. this time you got trump on tape, but now the narrative is a kinda perverse denial which simultaneous claims there were no lies while also insisting that the lies, which didn't happen, were examples o' real leadership in a crisis. at a time when the most reasonable means o' combating covid-19 were a communitywide dedication to social distancing and mask wearing in situations where social distance were impractical, we had a President not making a concerted effort to stockpile and produce ppe while encouraging business and states to remain open... daily examples o' denigrating mask wearing behaviours and undercutting social distancing messaging. leadership indeed. trump will scare you with apocalyptic visions o' blm protesters, radical democrats, illegal immigrants and terrorist muslims, but covid-19 is different. trump knows how, unlike the people o' germany or south korea, americans can't handle the truth 'bout covid-19. of course this will be the story which finally breaks trumper resolve. of course not. trump has radicalized his base using the language and means o' those same groups he were telling us to fear in 2015. the trump loyalists is immune to whatever is the revelation o' this story or the next. doesn't mean the press should stop reporting. is gonna be an accounting in the years to come. as a nation we are gonna need reflect on just how much were excused, ignored and sacrificed in the name o' existential fear and nationalist pride. each report by responsible media adds to the ledger and those who supported or simple went along with trump will not be able to pretend they never knew. is imperative each new violation o' law and decency be reported. all too often futility is the excuse for staying silent and impotent as mere witnesses to wrongdoing. as much as trump's failures and misdeeds is being recorded, so too is those witnesses who cheered him forward, or remained mute 'cause their fear o' immigrants, democrats and muslims were even greater than their fear o' covid-19 or crumbling democracy. alternative to bruce admonishment: keep reporting the futile as if the next terrible reveal will be the one which changes hearts and minds. to do otherwise would be irresponsible. bob woodward were not elected POTUS. bob woodward didn't take an oath to defend nation and the Constitution. HA! Good Fun!1 point

How ignorant has a dev team got to be to think loading missions in the background of a cinematic video is a good idea? Every time you load a mission in the Necromunda Story Mode you have to watch the corresponding cinematic because it functions as a load screen. Like those damn Spellforce 3 load screens with voice over... What will they think of next? Elevator rides instead of load screens?1 point

More Necromundiness: The Good: I like how the game sets specific other gangs active in the area, so for the time you spend there, you will be fighting those specific gangs. The idea is cool. After some fights your scouts will find their hideouts (and their scouts yours) and you can raid each other's bases to steal the resources you scavenged (for Mordheim players: their warpstone). The missions that can be chosen are the same for all gangs, so the AI players and you all choose missions to go on and you may end up fighting one other gang that chose it or no gang and go straight to the results screens or multiple gangs in a free for all. The Doh!: After some levels your fighters gain Virtues, Vices and Talents. My leader is a Brawler. The pure melee class. She runs around and chops people. Her Virtue "Decisive" gives her a +16% to hit with Aimed Shots... her Talent is Ranged Specialist, which gives her a massive +0% Ranged Damage. I am waiting for her to develop a Vice that reduces her Melee Damage...1 point
