  3. again, you are asking for something irrational. am not enduring the entire interview to criticize anymore than we would play an entire pc game or watch all of firebirds before we were justified in offering a critique on rfk jr and rogan whom we has seen and heard many times previous. we read books by mao and marx in their entirety. read the motorcycle diaries AND guerilla warfare by che. rogan is an entertainer who admits he is talking out his arse, which is s'posed part o' his appeal as well as a defense to his inevitable nonsense. converse rfk jr has done nothing to convince us he deserves more consideration than rogan. have seen the ridiculous retort many times that one needs watch or read something in its entirety before making the reasonable choice to stop the bleeding. crazy talk. but knock your self out. far less than three hours. heck ff to 7:20 and feel free to stop after 9:30. notice we ain't even suggesting a full viewing is required for context? is the farewell address immediate before kennedy became President. again, read kennedy's/democrat's 1960 platform. the military industrial complex speech were in part a warning 'cause o' the threat eisenhower saw in the campaign rhetoric o' the golden goose. military industrial complex out to get kennedy? sure. @Bartimaeus is not the first time the US had to endure ultra partisan and polarized politics. perhaps ironic it took world war 2 to change the dynamic o' nativism and fear which drove politics in the US from the last decade o' the 19th century. am s'posing such were the theory behind ozymandias' scheme from the watchmen comic-- fear o' an even more terrible enemy were needed to unify naturally fractious and adversarial human beings. 'course is doubtful we can count on a costumed sooper genius to manufacture an alien threat and only insane people would would advocate ww3 to solve our dilemma. obviously antebellum civil war through reconstruction were horrific and so not the kinda blueprint one would look to replicate in extracting the nation from the current polarized mess o' tribalism and paranoia. ... hard to believe, but our sad national response to mccarthyism might be a best case scenario? a chilling thought. HA! Good Fun! edit: rfk jr. whackadoodle positions on prozac being the cause o' school shootings, suggesting the link between hiv and aids is myth, blaming vaccines for autism, as well as a few o' his easily debunked covid conspiracies should preclude reasonable voters from taking him serious as a Presidential candidate. however, am gonna concede the oft mentioned heroin addiction he dealt with does not bother us over much, and perhaps less than it should. overcoming heroin addiction isn't exactly a positive résumé bullet point for a candidate running for political office. nevertheless, am admitting we cannot help but applaud the fact rfk jr. overcame such a terrible personal demon. good on him.

  4. I am just laughing, while looking at the sim racing stats on LFM portal Today I have became the fastest Aston Martin GT4 driver on Brands Hatch Circuit at Low Fuel Motorsport portal It is funny, because I know, that I suck, but the game balance is currently a little bit broken, so the absolute top drivers are driving Alpine and Mercedes GT4 cars And in total, I am 1.5 seconds slower per lap than them But I am enjoying driving in that car, despite being slowpoke I would love to see the top guys driving my car, how fast they would be, compared to me

  8. Yeah, and with RFKJR being a less popular/staunchly supported candidate than Bernie and with Biden in office there's just no way he gets through the primary. It's a dead end and if you want a protest vote you should just do the 3rd party thing. Radio 2.0 is going to be as boring as radio but it's nice to listen to something when you're driving or working and don't want music. Behind the Bastards is really good, it's nice to learn that professional wrestling is even more ****ed up than you thought or about how the dictator of Paraguay got CIA assistance in torturing dissidents. I don't keep up with Joe Rogan, his comedy is weak and I don't have 3 hours to listen to a guy asking his producer to Google stuff. No idea how he's as popular as he is, but I don't get how so many Transformers movies got made either.

  9. I'll go with bear, I like it thematically with a pale elf from the white that wends as well, the ghost version kinda looks like a polar bear After taking more of a look at the ability tree I think those 2 extra points are crucial as well And thanks, good to know with the takedown combo, I didn't actually know that they interacted that specific way, only that they synergized and produced solid dmg

  10. Have a look at this table: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1384851536 As you can see the Bear is not far behind the wolf in terms of damage but way ahead in terms of tankyness due to the higher health and the +2AR - which is a big deal, especially if you also use Resilient Companion + Pain Block for additonal +4 AR so it makes it worthwhile to stack AR on him for being tanky. The Wolf is better as a dps companion - but you are not looking for dps from your animal companion if I read that correctly. The Boar is also pretty tanky because he has the biggest health pool and on top has a constant health recovery during combat. Compared to the bear (and wolf) his dps sucks though. But if that's not your focus anyway you could give him a try, too. With Pain Block his health regeneration will be nice. Seers can make use of the nice synergy of Takedown Combo + Disintegration (and Soul Ignition). Both spells don't count as actual damaging attacks but are considered status effects (which conveniently deal damage). Thus they don't remove the Takedown Combo effect on the enemy. Usually you will use Takedown Combo with your Animal Companion on an enemy, said enemy will get an effect on him so that the next attack roll against him gets +100% damage and then the Takedown Combo effect gets removed. But if you aply Takedown Combo and then use Disintegration (or the other way round, doesn't matter) all the damaging ticks of Disintegration will get the +100% dmg bonus while the Takedown Combo effect will NOT get removed until it runs out, basically doubling the damage of Disintegration (or Soul Ignition, works the same - or even both).

  11. You can read the first four books or so. Horus, Abbadon and the rest of the traitor characters will still be badly written, but up to and including the flight of the Eisenstein (I think the ship is called), at least you are rooting for main characters like Saul Tarviz and Nathanael Garro who are worth rooting for. But the moment Garro reaches earth, every word worth reading has been read, and the series devolves into plot stupidity on the loyalist part and plot immortality on the traitor side. And of course the fact a lot of those authors do not actually understand the English language. Rather sad seeing how they are English themselves and know no other language. And the editors should live in hiding in case proper editors find them and execute them for crimes against the trade. In general, I wasn't too keen on Eisenhorn. Gaunts Ghosts I found enjoyable, but the series dragged on. Necromunda novels have been mostly fun.

  13. Finished Bad End Theater, a visual novel with the ability to replay the story from each MC's perspective and set the behaviours of the other MCs. The number of unique images is very impressive, though the playtime is rather short - 2 hours in total. Replayed Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. It still holds well, though the combat, the targeting, in particular, is rather uncomfortable. At least once I was defeated in combat (was getting hit while trying to get up and the rewind was reset due to finishing off a foe) and the NPC companion died once as well (was surrounded during the final elevator ride). It is also interesting that the save points are locked behind combat encounters, some of which are skippable. Overall, PoP:TSoT proves the quality over quantity approach - it is concise, on point, and takes less than 5 hours (including the doors puzzle that requires a sheet of paper and a pencil to solve).

  14. I so far have zero interest in Starfield. After Morrowind (and even Morrowind I wasn't into the story aspect at all), nothing else I've tried has connected at all (well, except that FO:4 doggo) and I pretty much gave up that any Bethesda developed game will ever truly be my thing. ...but if it ever goes on deep sale, and by then very patched up plus lots of mods, maybe I'll take a look one day.

I watched most of the Q&A with the African leaders and Zelensky and I thought they did a good job at explaining what the peace mission is about considering the circumstances They came across as very empathetic to what is happening in Ukraine but I dont think this mission is going to achieve much but its well meaning with good intentions and at least Africa is trying because this war has a direct economic impact to several African countries

  18. Man, if that ain't the truth - at least for the section of people who don't reliably vote by nature. It's definitely a double-edged sword: both sides are hyper-energized to vote when Trump is on the ballot. It creates weird and difficult to predict results in both directions, and I'm not super keen on an unpopular Biden (although he was already unpopular leading up to 2020's election anyways) facing him off again, which I think I've been making mention of here on the Obsidian forums practically since the day Biden won the last election. I want the Trump era of U.S. politics to be over and done with, but sadly, I think it's here to stay one way or another for the foreseeable future: the entire political paradigm has changed so much we'll be suffering the effects for at least the next decade (...and most likely a lot longer after even that).

  19. Since incorporating the steel mace into my workout routine (already featuring dumbbells, barbells, and kettlebells) I managed to push past a plateau and I feel invigorated. I'm at roughly my peak strength level last achieved decades ago in my 20s. I feel fantastic and swinging that mace around is not only effective but legitimately fun. I have to stop myself to keep from overdoing it with 360 swings and overhead chops (bicep curls into hunters are less fun but I still do them). I'm already considering picking up a Bulgarian Bag to further expand my exercise repertoire. Anyway, to anyone considering getting a steel mace (macebell), I very much recommend it. A tip from my experience: When you start out choke up on the grip a lot then slide your hands closer and closer to the end of the handle to find the sweet spot where you can do the exercise but just barely. As you get stronger and more comfortable with the mace you will grip it closer and closer to the end of the handle. I've moved my hands from 1/3 of the way up the handle to nearly all the way at the end in less than a month on 360 swings.

  20. LOL at the DNC trying to switch the first primary to South Carolina instead of New Hampshire because they fear losing in NH to RFK, which would not exactly inspire confidence in the already unpopular sitting president. In elephant news, Trump's popularity has only increased after the indictment, which was hilariously predictable. Smear campaigns don't work against Trump. Nobody, not even his most ardent supporters, are under the illusion that he's a squeaky clean guy. The most hilarious outcome would be Trump winning the presidency then pardoning himself. I'm almost as opposed to Trump winning as I am to Biden winning, but from a purely comedic standpoint, it would be something to behold.

  26. I'm also playing Pentiment. I played for a little last year, but had to stop. The game became far more interesting once I knew who is who in the village and that I can talk to most people before triggering whatever advances the story at that point. Still in the beginning of Act II. I was disappointed in the first act because I imagined I had more time to investigate and ended up missing a certain action that required a specific time, no longer available. However, I did manage to gather some convincing evidence, despite failing a dialogue check. Anyway, I hope I got the right person.

  28. Relentlessly indeed. I had to have a lil' surgery last weekend (hernia) and before getting shipped to the anesthetist's table the nurse asked me some questions. When she came to the point "regular medication" she said: "Ah well, you are young, I guess you don't have to pop pills regularly?" Me:

  29. I also loved Durance. He was a lot more believable to me as a character than xoti, and his conversations were more fleshed out than any other character in the series by like a mile. He was kind of a gloomy jerk (most of the time, sometimes funny), but he was a priest of magran who helped kill a god, what do people expect? He was also extremely perceptive, IIRC he is the only one who really gets what's going on if someone dies at the blood pool in Dyrwood Ruins. Also with the right actions you can convince him Magran was complicit with woedica which just breaks him. It's one of the most memorable moments of the series for me, seeing how everyone reacts to the revelation but mostly Durance. Deadfire characters in general are not nearly as good as Durance (or Eder/Aloth, maybe even Sagani). Their conversation trees are basically just their personal quests, they don't seem to have a lot to say about the main quest. Also I don't understand why some of them happen to be in the Deadfire (like Aloth) except that that's where you are, besides Serafen and Tekehu their presence seems rather circumstantial. Xoti just seems kind of daft, and I don't think her quest makes a lot of sense except for the dark version where she is collecting the souls basically because she wants to, because she's compelled to. I think Gaun is just an excuse at that point. All this is why in POE1 I prefer playing with a party, whereas in Deadfire I don't really care after the first couple times.

  33. Playing through Pillars 1 right now(to make a proper save import for Pillars 2) and the game is just better in almost every aspect other than graphics. Especially with some of the extra difficulty options enable. Darker tone, Pantheon representation, longer dungeons, late medieval setting, resource management, companions, no reused assets, etc. Ugly 3D models for sure, but way better overall. Best iteration of Baldur's Gate gameplay loop i've seen in a modern cRPG. The fact that i don't see the same 3 portraits to every minor character, or the same forest map in every other islet makes it even better. Pretty graphics is not why i play cRPG's so personally i can do without that ''improvement''. Give me simpler graphics with stable FPS any day. Full voice acting, again i find it distracting especially when it is low quality. Some instances are so bad that it brings me a visual image of the actor rehearsing lines with notepad on hand and all. Rathun Brenthis, Sugaan, etc. Yeap, we can at least agree on that one.

  34. ''Biggest step back? 1) Reused maps(especially bog and rocky mountain). It feels very cheap and Pillars as series doesn't deserve such treatment.'' '' POE 1, Tyranny, Deadfire. 3 Unity games made by Obsidian in a small timeframe, all sharing the same look, all sharing the same problems, all sharing a low production value. Loss of prestige as a gaming studio. People will simple stop auto buying whatever you throw at them after a while. If Pillars 3 comes out tomorrow, watch a review and see that it looks the same as Deadfire just with different story i know exactly what type of game is going to be. No matter the praise from IGN or whatever youtube reviewer, i as a player know if that game is for me or not because they sold me the same thing 3 times in a row already. POE, Tyranny, POE II Deadfire, POE III Ixamitl '' As you can see from my original comment above, i never said it was the main reason but i just gave it as an example of cheapness. You cut corners on everything for 2 games in a row and you do the same for your third one. Selling nostalgia and good writing can only get you so far. Simple and elegant explanation but time for me to move on from that discussion. Daven's thread isn't about sales, market shares and pie charts.

  35. Yes, sorry for that. But Eder felt very diffrent to his character from PoE1. When I read in forums that Eder and Xoti could somehow become a couple... o.O If I marry Alistair to Anora in DAO, at least I know it will work out, although I'm happy to spare him this. Eder and Xoti are just creepy. In one playthrough Eder becomes mayor for Dyrford but he has the time to go on a journey? In a few lines we hear what he did there, but how he suddenly grabs the corpse of the Watcher and with the steward they go out to sea. We see that the Watcher wakes up in the cabin where Eder is sleeping and the steward is standing. The Prolog has previously told us what happened, but Eder is not mentioned at all. He is somehow there, whatever the outcome in the first game. Where the ship and crew come from, or how they come to the conclusion that the Watcher stays alive when they follow the statue, I'm not sure where that was explained. That an Eder recognises a body whose soul is missing, forget it, that's what PoE1 was about. However, there is no explanation for the decision to follow the statue. And than, where did the time come from to hire a ship and a crew? Did Eothas politely wait until Caed Nur was ready to travel?

  36. A friend told me what Xoti is. Durance was good enough took him into the group for the first time, all next playhtrough he his good enough to take a bath in Skaens hot tub and give my Watchers boni. But I won't let Xoti break my Eder. He already has a hard time with his new, incompetent author. (Eder does not bother anymore his brother. The author just dropped this thread for no reason to have Eder chasing some unknown brat.) To be honest, I still like Alistair (from DAO) better than Eder, because at least Alistair admits that he cares about the Warden. Eder is just suddenly there, we don't know how he found out about the events in Caed Nur in Dyrfurt. Why Eder helped the Watcher, we do not know. How Eder and the Steward knew that the Watcher was not yet dead and had to stay near the statue, we do not know. How Eder found the ship plus crew, we do not know. At the moment Xoti is in the Gurn temple from Neketaka. Can I kill her without any negative impact?

  38. Hubby's back no better. He's been trying to get into Kaiser for a check - to make sure it's not something unexpected (organ disease, spine bone spurs that need surgery, whatever), and/or just to get confirmation that it's simply a matter of hoping re: physical therapy routines etc - but since he's not actually dying or even urgent-care they keep telling him they have "nothing (appointment times) available, we'll get back to you." And so far they have not gotten back to him. He's put his sit-stand-motored KB/mouse table to standing height and we raisedf his big TV/100lb stand to max, so he works most of the time standing. Does an hour of yoga stretches and other exercises in the morning, and shorter bursts off and on the rest of the day. I am now the strong one in our 2-person family. Don't you dare touch that box/bag/chair, I will move/lift everything! And wrench all the low lying thingies that need wrenching!
