  1. well, in the us, local and state government has been interfering with business since... forever. can't sell booze on sundays and no firearms for indians? @Guard Dogwas enraged by the anti-liberty aspect o' no smoking ordinances while convenient ignoring the whole democracy bit which had voters decide there should be laws 'bout smoking in restaurants. has always been laws and rules limiting biz. thank goodness. we posted this previous... mostly 'cause o' the james earl jones narration. all that clean air and water legislation passed during the nixon administration no less, placed limits on business and even GD were ok with such... 'cause. most o' us is ok with some kinda government limits on private business... 'cause. am not sure what is your personal "because," but most o' us got one, eh? however, speech is different... at least has been in the US since 1787... but less so in the past decade. congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances. ... now keep in mind this is something we frequent have difficulty explaining to europeans, but until recent in the US there were a kinda near ubiquitous understanding amongst the citizenry, even if most people couldn't explain the what or why behind the special exception for speech, that the kinda speech which required protection were speech which offended people... particular the majority. is the majority which, through democratic process, would make laws which might burden the naacp or woke teachers in arkansas. so yeah, we got nazis in skokie, illinois able to wear their brownshirts and march through a mostly jewish community w/o the government able to prevent 'em from doing so. a florida preacher burning copies o' the quran shocked europeans, but there were literal nothing The Government, by of and for the people, could do to stop him from doing so. if a company such as obsidian has a message board they use as part o' their advertising and goodwill efforts, then the notion The Government could force them to change content regulations woulda' been unthinkable to most americans in 2002... but is far less clear in 2022. ‘This Is Positively Dystopian’: Judge Skewers DeSantis’ ‘Stop W.O.K.E.’ Act, Blocks Law Turning Higher Ed Workers into ‘State’s Mouthpieces’ in 2002 the comical farce o' an anti-woke law being passed and surviving Constituional scrutiny woulda' made us sneer with derision. 2022? dunno. clarence thomas suggests, via dicta, that free speech only applies to political speech, which would have antonin scalia and louis brandeis rolling in their graves. the ridiculous anti-woke laws ain't just rando local laws neither but appear as some kinda concerted effort by republicans o' all people, the folks who until recent claimed they were the party dedicated to keeping government limited and remote from the liberties o' ordinary gun-toting americans, is creating laws which is "dystopian," and heretofore unthinkable. we woulda' laughed at the florida anti-woke campaign in 2002. am not laughing no more. unfortunate is no longer fringy folks (and bruce) who embrace a fundamentally unamerican effort to have The Government interfere with speech 'tween private citizens. is no longer just a bad joke circa 1980 or 90 when some "patriotic" group tried to get a flag burning amendment passed... 'cause even those loons knew they needed a Constitutional amendment to get around american first amendment free speech protections. wtf am feeling old(er). HA! Good Fun!

  2. The upside to the GPU is that you can hide it inside your case where no one has to see it. The case, on the other hand, is always on display for everyone to see your shame.

Not that people really fill up their cards with Petroleum (being used as a paint stripper or a foul smelling lamp/torch fuel instead)

When I was querying my friend in San Diego whether a Quinceneara is a formal event and do I need a suit and tie along... I got a reply of "Eh, think wedding. The important thing is the kids want you to bring Cadbury flake." - So I've just taken delivery of 1kg of appropriate chocolatey goodness to whisk over in the luggage. Also, the new addition to the household I've just finished setting up: With a couple of slapmats in place to help with any future spillages.

  13. I hit the level cap of 12 in both the original campaign and the Lost Valley DLC, and I played a Ranger in the latter. That said, it only happened in the final (major) dungeon in Lost Valley, even with the high rate of random encounters in that DLC (easily grindable for those so inclined). I picked the Marksman subclass, which in hindsight is one of the weaker ones. As you mention, they do get the option of using their bonus action to take a third shot per turn, which must target the same enemy as your prior regular shot. However this is not as useful as it seems, because not only do you get it so late in the game, your bonus action up to that point in the game will typically be used to apply Hunter's Mark. Therefore any damage applied by that shot is offset by the loss of damage from not having applied the mark to the target. It also means you do eat up ammo 50% faster. I now think the Hunter sub-class is therefore the better pick. You don't get a third attack (the multishot from volley doesn't count) but take Colossus Slayer at level 3, which adds 1d8 damage to any attack against an already-damaged enemy. That means by the time you get your second attack at level 5 you'll be operating at almost peak efficiency, so the Hunter is strong for most of the game. (As an alternative to Colossus Slayer you can take Horde Breaker which does give you an extra attack when you deal a killing blow, once per turn, but I suspect this is the weaker option)

  14. Turkey has been bombing the Kurds in Syria again in response to the bombing last week in Istanbul*. That was a bombing supposedly carried out by a headscarf wearing (ie religious) arab who had been contacted multiple times by the Turkish nationalist MHP party (claimed to be a wrong number due to her having the same name as someone else...), supposedly done on behalf of the Kurdish atheist PKK. And the suspect had very obviously been beaten up (at best) when 'confessing'. *Whatever you do don't read the BBC article, utter garbage that reads like it was dictated by Erdogan.

  16. Devilman Lady, episode 23. Jun returns to the home that she grew up in, which her grandparents currently occupy. They talk about life in the city and how she's ready to return to a more traditional life after all that silly rough and tumble devil business, and share memories over sake. Gee, Jun, I wonder why? Well, all's well that ends well: the end! Okay, now I've seen the last three episodes. So the thing about Devilman is, the main story/premise stuff is largely arbitrary nonsense that doesn't really hold up to any kind of inspection in my opinion, particularly with regards to why anyone ever does anything that they do. In conclusion, I do not recommend this show to KP, because I think he'd largely find it too slow and boring, too shoujo-like for the most part, which from what I gather was not really how it was in the manga. The main plot moves glacially slow, the action stuff is pretty weak, and it doesn't really get close to reaching the same heights of insanity that even the old OVA stuff did...and never mind Devilman Crybaby. It's a "maybe" to majestic because he might appreciate the oddball blend of soft demonic horror with shoujo elements like I did which made it worth watching overall, but I can't say for sure.

  17. I'm wondering about that for a while already - how come that every single one of those videos has absolutely terrible music playing over the footage? Is this like a requirement for them? It needs to have the most obnoxious water mark you can make + the worst music you can find?

  18. I am surprised anyone stops to answer questions like that, well or any one, from some YouTuber. Channel is fairly one note now, complete with boring circle jerk comments. Interesting to see that about the drones, Russians used their Orlans heavily throughout the war though. And recently the Lancets have been active. Well or footage anyway - a podcast with Kofman was saying Ukraine did something similar with their Bayraktar footage, releasing it later than the actual strikes. Combat footage is great propaganda, and a good way to advertise your terrible taste in music

  21. Fair point! By the way, contrary to (other) fascist states, Russia has pursued a strict policy of demobilizing(*) and passivising its citizens, instead of getting them to rally in support of its leaders. The explicit aim has been to produce a total split between the people and the political sphere, and it has to be said that this has been extremely successful. For example, the people don't mind that there are no free or fair elections in the country, and haven't been for a long time. The people don't care that they have no say in what Russia does, politically speaking. Some people are active, of course, as they always are, but these people are treated with extreme harshness and even cruelty, and the vast majority of the population just doesn't care. Here's a very recent selection of brief interviews from the streets of Moscow. Given the size of the city, it is obvious that a selection like this could be produced even if it weren't the majority view, but my sense is that this really does reflect the general views of the city's young population. And for me, this is heartbreaking stuff to watch. Truly. (*) For decades. I'm not talking about the very recent mobilization.

  23. It is not will of people if less than 10% of people entitled to vote, cast their vote. It is mockery of democracy, but Musk owns Twitter and therefore is it's dictator and is entitled to rule his platform anyway he chooses. But anyone who says that such polls are will of people and some how protecting freedom of speech are just lying themselves or just hate democracy and want to distort meaning of freedom of speech for some reason. But as Twitter is spiralling down of its own destruction because it is losing assets that made it popular in first place

  24. How is that democracy? I didn't vote, didn't even know I was able to vote for that. How long was the voting period? This is nothing but a sham. /edit: Looks like 1 day, without announcement unless you follow his sorry ass on Twitter, which I am not doing. And now we're about to see every single one of Trumps stupid tweets on the news again. Some people say Musk closed the poll when the No-votes became too big, but dunno if that really happened. Also just saw a comment which I agree with: "You’re missing the funniest part though…remember how he was obsessed with Twitter’s bot problem? And now that he’s in charge, suddenly and after no changes, the bot problem is gone and he’s bragging about user numbers" /edit2: Looks like Trump doesn't even want to come back, lel. https://www.bnnbloomberg.ca/trump-cites-twitter-problems-says-he-ll-stick-to-own-platform-1.1848811

  27. Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon, episode 2. I'm not sure this belongs here, what with it being a live action show, but... man, I don't know what to say. This waffles between being hilariously overacted (Queen Beryl is a joy to behold) and curiously restrained, the costumes are terribly campy and Tuxedo Mask and his mullet are hard to believe without being seen. Skeletor from the Masters of the Universe film has nothing on her. Nothing. The jokes are delivered in such an earnest way it's hard not to burst out laughing, even if they're really old and tired, like Usagi going into the arcade with a faked one year membership pass with a doodle of Luna on it to drive home how ridiculous it is, and Motoki going "since when do we sell one year memberships?" just a second after she goes inside. The special "effects" are terrible, the CGI is hilarious and the acting is, uh... honestly, it's so bad it's... Dunno where this is going as I haven't spoiled myself yet outside of knowhing that we'll get a DARK MERCURY at some point. I wonder how often these 'swords' broke during filming. Anyway. Luna changing between horrible CGI, a plus toy and a plush puppet where you can see the hand of the puppeteer going into it at times round everything out. Make no mistake though, when Luna is the plush toy Luna, Luna actually is a plush toy. Look at this intro: So, anyway, episode two is more or less predictably about Usagi befriending Ami and her awakening. Usagi giving Ami a mini-disc copy of Minako's new album is a really curious sight too. These things never got to be popular here at all, at first I thought she was handing Ami a tape, but... well, a sign of the time when this got made. Too late for tapes, too early for widespread MP3-players. Usagi is as silly as in the anime and Luna is as snarky as in the anime. It feels kinda weird to say this, but if one can deal with the campy side, this is actually - so far - a real joy to watch. If there's a downside, then that it cannot truly stand on its own. Ami's and Usagi's interactions in this episode make sense for someone who has watched the original anime or read certain parts of the manga, but on their own? I don't know. Funny how the transformation sequences begin with the girls already wearing their body suits. I wonder why? Having choreographed fighting scenes in mini-skirts is a lot more revealing than the anime was, obviously, so you win some, you lose some, I guess. Ami has a damaging attack. Cheaper than a fog machine. Heh.

  31. I suspect it was a developer oversight to set both BaseValue and ChanceToApply, and that they actually stack. If that is correct, then setting them both to 0.5 should give you a 25% chance to trigger, which sounds like what you're getting. (Which means that it only had a 1/16 chance to trigger in vanilla ) Try setting ChanceToApply to 1 and BaseValue to 0.5 and see if that fixes things.

  33. 18 – October 18, 20:30 – I have finished the main storyline of Final Fantasy XV on PS4. It is still mixed bag for me. Chapters 1-9 were pretty bland and boring, due to the mostly empty open world, and everything taking so long. The exceptions was dungeon crawling. On the other hand in chapters 10-14, I had pretty solid fun. Almost 86 hours spent means, that I enjoyed the game enough, to not throw it out of the window, as I was planning to do, after playing the Platinum Demo . Still it seems to me, that this game was failed live service, which did not achieve to hold enough interest for keeping player going back to the game. Having full story put in between movie, anime, DLCs, novels and audio dramas, did not help either. For Royal Edition, which wanted to bring the users back to the game, even the newly added mandatory storyline trophy has been unlocked by less than 6% of the owners. Which probably caused 3 more planned DLCs cancelled.

The Koi Fish is the destroyer of worlds wishing to eat all in it's path. Chaotic Evil for the Koi Fish. Anyway I'm just trying to start a religion and convince people to make shrines for the new deities.
