  2. I think this is precisely what it was. Early on during the war, reports started to surface that the Russians had botched (via corruption) a wholesale attempt to prepare just this: the right people were supposed to be in place, the right traitors were supposed to do the right thing for Russia, but essentially none of it happened. An awful lot of money was wasted in corruption. Early on, I read these reports very sceptically, but then it appeared that at least some proper evidence started to surface, although I'm still not sure about the whole thing. Two days after the war began, some Russian news agency accidentally reported that Ukraine had surrendered and that everything had gone according to plan. The article was removed very quickly, but of course the internet doesn't forget. So even this was planned. It just all went terribly wrong. Like eating a nice dinner with two sledgehammers.

  3. Had you taken any cold medicine with a decongestant? Pseudoephedrine, ephedrine, phenylephrine, naphazoline and oxymetazoline are all supposed to raise blood pressure. Might also be a situational aspect to it as well (ie stress from going to the doctor and being sick). Making sure you're not dehydrated can also help with BP, as I understand it. Also

And you are again forgetting, that here are a lot of people who lived in Soviet Occupied territories for more than a decade, who experienced more than a ****load of these so called "terrible crimes against the west" perpetrated by Soviets/Russians first hand... especially people like bugarup, who lives in Baltics...

  5. " estimates have been consistently inaccurate " ..Oh thats rich coming from you The long list of Russian fake news repeated on this forum in the beginning of Putins War is really the funny part of your post. Let see Russia wont invade Ukraine guys, its just a training exercise. We cant trust the US with intelligence...look at Iraq and you definitely cant trust the Western media remember " babies being thrown in incubators " Okay but now that Russia has invaded its justified because of Minsk, Nazis, Nukes and NATO...." its justified " !!! Ukraine will be defeated in a week by the mighty Russian army because they very well trained The Moskva is still sailing in the Black Sea Their was no attempt to occupy the whole country and Kiev Their are NO war crimes committed by the Russian army, its fake news or the Ukrainians killing their own citizens for propaganda purposes I can go on and on. Their has been propaganda from the Ukrainian side as well but the masters of " consistently inaccurate " have been the Ruskies and people who repeat their fake news But thanks for the laugh again

  6. the january 6 hearings thus far make it clear the following people (at the very least) should all be taking the fifth: mark meadows rudy jeffrey clark john eastman and add ron johnson to the list the former President is an unusual case. as a practical matter, criminal prosecutions are gonna favour a well-represented defendant; the system is designed to the advantage o' defendants, but such benefits is only actualized if you are able to afford the best representation. conspiracy to obstruct the peaceful transfer o' power in general, and the january 6 electoral college count more specific, makes some kind trump belief he were robbed o' the election a non-factor from a legal pov, but such is gonna nevertheless be communicated ad nauseum to a jury, and a majority o' republicans as o' the most recent polling reveals they believe trump were cheated out o' a second term as President. trump is the current high priest o' the gop and his january 6 narrative has already become part o' the religious dogma o' the faith. am suspecting the doj is aware folks who don't wanna convict trump are gonna need more than an ordinary smoking gun to convince them to do so. any jury trial o' trump is gonna be a gamble and ordinarily the doj don't do vegas odds. HA! Good Fun! ps btw, try multiple o' the aforementioned fifth amendment candidates and get a couple o' em to turn on trump and be witness for the prosecution would change the dynamic considerable.

  7. I would guess they'd launch a major cyber attack. That's their big go-to short of military action. And yeah, Peskov saying, "This decision is really unprecedented. It's a violation of everything. We consider this illegal," is hilarious and the height of hutzpah. Everything the Russians have done since 2/24 is unprecedented, illegal, and "a violation of everything." In response to Russia's actions, any counter-action taken by anyone anywhere in the world is eminently reasonable by default.

  8. Honestly, I think that Trump or an imitator is going to come into power over the next few years. Our Macron (eat the brie baby) has been a big disappointment to anyone who isn't a financially comfortable wonk while the cult of the orange has been steadily stacking the deck in their favor. Maybe the Dems pull their heads out of their asses and realize the contours of power have changed substantially and that they actually need to do something about voting rights (and hopefully the **** their voters need, like healthcare and wages) but more than likely they will stand still waiting for their old dance partners to rejoin the waltz instead of trying to burn down the building.

  9. I'm nervous about the Battlepass thing for Conan Exiles as well, but I am super jazzed about the content they are adding. Sorcery looks pretty well done for the setting and seems to add a decent travel system to the game outside the map room and suicide. The creative build mode is a big addition for me. I tend to make a mess of my attempts at creating decent fortresses, so it will save me a lot of headache. So yeah, lot's of very good in the announcement and one giant red flag. edit: Conan is the only game I have really embrace the DLC model with too. I buy up those packs with no hesitation, even if it is just cosmetic stuff. So I don't really know what the battlepass means in the long run.

  11. Well, even the operation in the east is not much more successful, than the operation around the Kyiv. The "funny" thing is, that the Russia is doing the same mistakes as Germans in WW2 while storming the Ukraine. They are able to seize only small villages, from which Ukrainian army retreats, with the exception of Izyum (oh the irony) and Mariupoľ. The current invasion in Luhansk is going so bad, that it initiated another Purge at the Army leadership. Also in the east, the military units of the Russian army has been so decimated, that the leading force of the attack is now Wagner and Rosgvardia. The conventional Russian military units are just to decimated, including their officer ranks, that they are no longer feasible to execute the required offensive tasks in required power. Also, there are more and more ads around Russia for recruitment of officers, due to them being utterly decimated... 750+ are confirmed by their family members and city officials at their home cities... The theoretical number must be even more terrifying for the functioning of the Russian army. Also there are reports, that new reservists are deployed to the front just after a few days of training... Which says pretty much a lot about how bad the operation is going for Russia despite gaining ground in some small villages on flat land, which is impossible to defend by UA... https://www.understandingwar.org/backgrounder/russian-offensive-campaign-assessment-june-21

  12. You could argue, the whole disaster around the Russian army's antics north of Kiev was an attempt to preempt the need to occupy the whole country (eliminate the leadership). Nice thinking, poor execution. Like eating a nice dinner with a hammer and a fork...

I even lost one for my current playthrough, apparently because it had the same name as another. I disabled cloud saves, let's see if it solves the problem.

  16. those waters has always had shark issues. south o' monterey to north o' san francisco is relative dangerous and such were the case when we did matriculate at cal. the thing is, the statistics tell us shark attacks is considerable less probable compared to being involved in a car accident driving from san jose to monterey, but am admitting shark fear is a bit more primal. in any event, 'cause is so few shark attacks per year (again, relative speaking), is difficult to come up with meaningful statistics. a few extra attacks in a season results in a major change in the statistics. get these peculiar spikes and people blame on el niño, kelp bed decimation or even sunspots. correlation v. causation. regardless, am terrified o' few things, but sharks is near the top o' the list. no agency. life or death is depending on a dead-eyed eating machine? 17. NOTE: Deflection against Non-Veil Piercing attacks is actually at 232, it doesn't show as it is conditional, same for Divine Purpose adding another +20 defense against MIG, DEX and RES Afflictions. Also the conditional -15 defense of Blood Mage doesn't show here of course. Also of course, all enemies are permanently bathing in several layers of Chill Fogs that Blind and debuff their ACC by -15. Hello, I'm Bobby the Goldpact/Blood Mage and I firmly believe that the best defense is defense. Of course, I also think that the best offense is offense. Anyway, here I am with all my defenses over 220 thanks to a careful mix of item/ability selection, stacking buffs prolonged via Wall of Draining as well as some nice No-Rest goodies. (No Strand of Favor trick involved at all). Having the lowest defenses at 221 means that in order to get 1% chance of Grazing this toon, an enemy needs to have an accuracy of 147 (147+100-221=26 [Graze]). Any ACC below that level cannot breach his defenses with an Attack Roll (of course things like Minoletta's Minor Missiles, Thrust of Tattered Veils or Brand Enemy can still hit since they don't require an Attack Roll). On paper, this should make more than 99% of enemies in the game irrelevant. Not bad! Now, the funny thing about Upscaled PotD is that I can still find non-Megaboss foes that do manage to Graze him from time to time! Even then, with a constant regen of 60HP/3sec and 19+ AR, this toon is pretty safe. The funniest thing is that so far I never had to reload a single fight in the game playing Solo, EXCEPT... fighting Soul Mirrors. Their defenses are too high because they copy my toon AND have Upscaling AND PotD bonuses on top... and they have Blood Mage + Lethandria's Devotion constant regen, plus a ridiculous AR stacking with Stoic Steel... I actually have to switch to unarmed when the mirror is created (i.e. without sword & broad), then switch back to sword & broad if I want a chance to defeat them. Anyway, I thought I'd share for all you min-maxers out there .

  18. Hellsing has one of the best finales in manga that I ever read, which is not saying much as endings are usually their achilles heel, but even saying that it's still great. Never got in to his second manga Drifters. It has an interesting concept, but it never grabbed me. It is still going, so it must have a following.

  20. Gleaned some additional info, of course, until it's released everything's up in the air... One of the major modders claims it's not going to mess with mods. Then again, they got an NPC in the game, so they might be slightly biased. This whole debacle does explain why you can't even play on a local LAN anymore without internet connection though (game will instantly boot you from your local server if your connection drops for even a little while). Naysayers warned about this bs coming when they forced the launcher, guess they were right. Same, I've bought every single DLC so far. From what I gather the content in the battle pass will be time limited, per the usual FOMO bs, but it would rotate, or something? Kinda unclear to me right now. Regardless, seems hoping for the "least-bad" type of pass where you can complete them at your own pace (supposedly what Halo Infinite does) isn't on the table

  23. this is arguable one o' the big mistakes o' democrats in the US as they is framing the question similar as majestic. is reasonable and makes sense, but it should be irrelevant. if bob murders his wife 'cause he truly believed she were having an affair, is the murder ok? 'course not. insofar as murder charges is concerned, it doesn't matter if mrs. bob were a trollop or not, and it sure don't matter if mr. bob thought she were cheating. what bob did were wrong and he knew or shoulda' know it were wrong. now if bob aimed a gun at mrs. bob and he may convince a jury he honest believed the gun weren't loaded, then he could present a defense to murder with intent. trump loaded the gun and pointed it at America. a defense that trump believed the b!tch deserved to die is as irrelevant for tump as it is for bob. trump were part o' a plan to impede, obstruct and/or prevent the transfer o' power from his Presidency to biden's. doesn't matter he thought he were justified as if the question may be framed as some kinda moral question. converse, the individuals who were part o' the false state certificates part o' the plan has some legitimacy in declaring ignorance. if the not-electors genuine believed their alternative slates would only be used in the case o' trump success in court, as they were convinced by trump lawyers, then when such slates were used for another purpose, their ignorance could arguably bar some kinda specific intent threshold. many o' the false electors were conned into doing something illegal. now am understanding why political speaking it makes a difference if trump followers who believe the election were stolen and who is not wanting to admit even to themselves they were duped is embracing the honest belief nonsense as if it provides a defense to the particular crimes. Democrat politicians need convince some % o' trump followers that his actions were bad and not mere illegal. too many trump followers believe the b!tch deserves to die. however, notice how none o' the january 6 rioters is successful using a defense that they legit believed the election were stolen to avoid prosecution? trump don't gain some kinda special defense his followers is unable to avail themselves. am understanding why democrats is fighting republicans on republican terms, but it is irrelevant as a matter o' law. HA! Good Fun!

  24. In the Kharkiv region Ukrainian offensive is now concentrated around Balaklia, and because Kharkiv is practically impossible to conquer, they left only minimum troops guarding it, just to be able to maintain stalemate. And around Kherson and in Zaporizhia Oblast, the attack made there are primarily to lure out some Russian troops out of Luhansk Cauldron. When you compare how the map looked like after Russia left Kyiv two months ago, the Russia made only minimal gains. Ukraine took some land and is now concentrated on stalemate, until more of the stuff from land-lease arrives, while doing as much damage to Russian troops as possible. And yes a lot of Ukrainian troops die as well, but still less than in Russian army. And then, there is as much sabotage as possible at Russian and occupied soil to hinder their GLOCs as much as possible.

  25. Well, there have been a lot of attacks on Russian and occupied soil in last few days. 7 ammunition warehouses blown up in DNR, something has expolded in Simferopol in Crimea, 2 occupied Russian gas/oil rigs blown up in Black Sea, one big warehouse and command center near Kharkiv, and a lot of kabooms around Belgorod.

  28. Eh, problem is they've been saying that for three months now. Ukraine hasn't made any real progress after retaking some land around Kharkov (some of which they lost again over the last week, but it isn't strategically important either way), though they've had an excellent twitter offensive on Kherson for months. And yes, people have certainly been saying things like Severodonetsk is falling imminently too for ages, so it's not just one side doing it. It made sense under one single circumstance: you think you can force a political surrender rather than military victory, and you believe that the enemy won't fight. If they fight you've got nowhere near enough troops. If your primary goal is 'defeating Ukrainian forces' you do things completely differently and concentrate on, well, defeating their army. Which probably means you go up/down the east bank of the Dniepr to cut the country in two; since there are a very limited number of places to cross the Dniepr and most of the Ukrainian army was in the east. And on the list you made, really Bruce, most of those come from one guy who isn't even with us any more- and a couple I never saw here at all, though I did elsewhere. Might as well cite stuff from oby or LoF too.

It was the biggest battle in the history of war with millions of men engaged. The Soviets lost tens of thousands of men but they were the superior army at the end of the day

  33. I don't really know why anyone would take those estimates seriously anyway. Russia was going to run out of stuff inside a week from the start of the war, estimates have been consistently inaccurate. Sigh. "Enemy at the Gates" is not a documentary. Much like, well, the Moscow Times it's intended to make westerners feel good about themselves. As a matter of actual historical fact the Germans achieved zero soviet pockets in six months (while still taking enormous amounts of land) under 'not one step back' because... the soviets continually withdrew, until they reached Stalingrad. Under the previous policy which was far closer to actual 'not one step back' they pocketed something ludicrous like 3 million soviet troops in 6 months. Last pocket the Germans took on the eastern front was, rather ironically, at Izyum in May 1942 during a soviet attack. Mostly ironic not because the current war is largely being fought around Izyum, but because sticking a great wad of troops in a salient with weakly defended sides is exactly what the dopes got roped into at Stalingrad. And if it wasn't for Manstein they'd probably have pocketed every single german strung out along 2000km of trans Don countryside waiting for supplies as well. If you want to play realpolitik, then do so. Preferably do so without the moral crusade and 5th grade propaganda though, and especially the blubbing about how and why the rest of the world just doesn't appreciate how very special and uniquely terrible crimes against the west are.

  36. Steel Garrote is an excellent choice when you want to use Whispers of the Endless Paths with Offensive Parry. The reason is that the Steel Garrote Paladin has a passive that lets you drain health from enemies if they are afflicted with something. Offensive Parry not only hits enemies who miss you in melee, it also applies the Dazed affliction if you do so, automatically unlocking the health drain. You need high melee deflection though. So that means high Resolve, Cloak of Greater Deflection (very early item with Berath's Blessing: Merchant in Port Maje), later Bracers of Greater Deflection, Deep Faith etc. and also an armor that gives you deflection bonuses. I would recommend Nomad's Brigandine. It gives up to +10 deflection against melee attackers and it also makes you immune to disengagement attacks - meaning they will miss 100% of times. So you can basically disengage, the disengagement attack will miss you and you will instantly do an Offensive Parry in return. This also means you can roam the battlefield freely while doing damage passively and draining health in the process. The Brigandine is also a heavy armor which is good for a melee character who will most likely get hit a lot but can compensate with high AR and AR passives (see Barb+Paladin passive around armor). Enemies' underpenetrarion is every frontliner's underappreciated friend... This is also one of the few builds where I consider casting the Paladin's +40% dmg Beacon is worthwhile. Because your offensive parries will also get +40% dmg and this will also drain more of the enemies' health for you. Blood Thirst also triggers from Offensive Parry (if it kills). Barbarians suffer -10 deflection when frenzied. That's not so cool in this case but it's manageable. Berserker is nice because not only does he crit more frequently and gains +2 PEN - but also because he gains +2 AR via Frenzy. The self damage is substantial bit can be countered with the health drain, a pet that heals on kill (see Abraham) and Lay in Hands + Exalted Endurance. But I think I personally would go with the Furyshaper because the Fear Ward is very strong, it will afflict enemies (more health drain) and it will make you more sturdy because terrified enemies don't attack. It also fits the Steel Garrote vibes imo. For a single class Barb I would def. recommend Furyshaper because the Blood Ward is just awesome for you and the whole party. Especially in combination with Barbaric Retaliation and Dazing Shout. It's more difficult to use offensive Parry as an SC Barb because you will lack the deflection bonuses of the Paladin, but you can combine disengagement-parries and Babaric Retaliation (it attacks with the sword's cone AoE). With WotEP, Carnage and Dazing Shout you want highest INT and also items that raise INT further as well as items that raise AoE size directly (Ring of Overseeing for example). A pet like Loki also helps with that, but maybe something like Abraham is better for a Berserker after all.

  37. Dark ~~--> 12 Monkeys (TV), if it was German and aiming for something approaching a scandi noir aesthetic. Though that comparison relies on actually having seen 12 Monkeys which to be sure wasn't quite as popular as Stranger Things. Thoroughly recommend Dark by the way, though as might be guessed from its name let alone the first few episodes it isn't exactly the most bright and positive experience.

  38. Saw "Spiderhead" via Netflix. It stars Chris Hemsworth and Miles Teller, how terrible could it be? ...turns out, pretty terrible. I mean, once again, the idea/concept isn't awful, but the execution is rather ludicrous, especially the ending stuff. Read any negative review of it, I'd probably largely agree.
