  2. Did a quick test: Spark the Souls counts all hit rolls as the priest's - so Effort + Avenging Storm works (absolute mayhem with multiple summons on the field I guess). Symbol of XYZ and Magran's Might etc. also work as was expected.

  3. Avenging Storm doesn't do a lot of dmg on its own, and in order to produce chains of Avenging Storm from one Hobble/Sicken crit you have to have a very high chance to crit in the first place. But it would surely help.

  4. I was thinking it might, but of course will have to test it to be sure. I think I'll try this. I've actually never completed the game with a SC priest, so this would be fun. I also like how BPM added one of my favorite spells, Combusting Wounds, to the Magran bonus spells. Also, a Priest of Magran would ultimately look great in the Crimson Panopoly, and the controlled rage upgrade would synergize well with this build. And as Constentin Lévine has shown elswhere, an empowered StSotR works extremely well with the least unstable coil.

  5. So I have decided with one other guy, that we will try to run an Endurance Race in Assetto Corsa Competizione on Spa-Francorchamps track, with driver swap in the boxes on SimGrid platform. He is pretty much pro, but I am a newbie at that game, so we signed up our team as PRO-AM and I was assigned to do the qualification and start the race as a first driver. As soon as the Qualification started, I knew the **** hit the fan It was in the middle of the night and started to rain Thankfully the track was not flooded, so it was not to terrible, but I made few mistakes, so I had to start from the last quarter of the grid of 46 cars. Of course the race would be in the night as well, so I have decided to be as cautious as possible during the first few corners. And I have made a short video about all of the experiences, which I've accumulated during this race

  7. @Guard Dogwe always assumed our client's were idiots, not 'cause we thought they actual were idiots, but some few (too many) would do something idiotic to self-sabotage their legal efforts during the course o' our representation. as such it were in our best interest to make things as simple as possible and to cover our own arse by stating verbal and in writing the dos and don'ts they need observe. polite. we were always polite, but many clients nevertheless were annoyed by what were obvious patronizing. the clients most annoyed by our KISS approach were preternatural in danger o' self immolation. were always tough 'cause you need clients to understand and follow instructions but if the clients believe they is being disrespected, some number will literal go out o' their way to do opposite o' recommendations, which is so strange. if genuine annoyed, then why not just fire us and get a new attorney? the client is paying considerable money for our advice and then to seeming purposeful or reckless ignore advice were kinda nonsensical from our pov, but as such happened more than once, we tried to balance KISS with the necessary ego strokes to get clients to actual follow the advice they were paying to receive. eventual, most jobs is actual sales even if you is only selling self to your boss. we were ok with not selling self to bosses, but nevertheless found self channeling our inner joe isuzu with clients. HA! Good Fun!

  10. This is probably one of the most nitpicky posts i've made. But the Black Ant Armor and the Red Ant Armor looking identical makes sense until you realize their armor type. One is light, and so a lack of chest armor makes sense. But the other is heavy, and looks out of place when you compare it to the other heavy armor which cover up more of the body.

  11. But Dorudugan is resistant to body afflictions isnt it? I dont know if a hit with Hemorraging's hobble or sicken that is down to nothing count however as an hit.. I think that count but I dubt. Avenging Storm and Spark of the Souls can be extented by SoT by the way

  12. Do we have the emergence of some new anti-Dorudugan tech here... It's pretty easy to lower Dorudugan's reflex defense (flail plus the ever-useful arkemyr's wondrous torment), plus shock is its lowest defense. on a SC priest with a scroll of avenging storm (and maybe a potion of perfect aim, depending on whose attack roll is used), would you be able to pelt out enough shock damage with spark the souls and effort with a party of 5 to wipe it out before avenging storm wears off?

  17. Complete Armour Sets Armour sets have the general theme that each piece has the same bonus, and the entire set gives you a new, complementary bonus. Currently, the aphid, marksman, mite, and mother demon armour types each only have one piece of armour associated with them. Additionally, the eye patch, gill tube, bubble helmet and gas mask could have a set bonus associated with each of them. Since the gas mask provides haze protection, the hazardous material set could have a set bonus that allows for slower decay time on the mask/other pieces, or possibly tweak the actual gas resistance from 100% to 33.3%/item. There could be a snorkeling set with the basic fin flops, gill tube, and swim suit and then the upgraded version could be essentially a diving "dry suit" or "SCUBA" type with better fins, the bubble helmet, and an air cannister chest piece. Both the hazmat and underwater sets should have minimal armour protection value. Synergies If the armours aren't necessarily completed into sets, perhaps the mismatched sets could have some kind of synergistic relationship that makes them more viable. Though I strongly prefer the completion of the sets for aesthetics. For example, there could be a three boss format that uses the mother demon mask helmet, "boss 2 chest piece', and "boss 3 boots" to create a "heroic set".

  18. I was thinking of trying a run as a SC Priest of Magran, with the ultimate goal of trying out Effort and casting Avenging Storm from scrolls. If I cast Spark the Souls of the Righteous while wielding effort with Avenging Storm active, would all of the procs of StSotR trigger hemorrhaging and Avenging Storm? If so, that would be wild, and would provide some nice non-fire damage for a Priest of Magran. My guess is that the ticks of Symbol of Magran and Magran's Might would also trigger this mayhem.

  21. Currently on 0.12.0 Public Test - 3552 to 3555. When you have multiple of the same meal in your inventory and have said meal equipped on your hotbar and you use/eat it, the game eats your FRESHEST meal from your inventory every time. This can obviously be annoying when you have meals with differing levels of spoilage and the game decides to eat your freshest meal first, cutting your adventure/harvesting time short and potentially leading to spoiled meals. I propose that instead of the above happening, when you use a meal from your hotbar, the game prioritizes eating the meal CLOSEST to spoiling. Nothing major but I think this would be a nice quality of life change.

  24. You're scarcely scratching the surface of what it is that makes a Carrier Strike Group such a useful asset. Take the 2015 deployment of the Russian Air Force to Hmeimim. For several weeks the US DoD announced the ever increasing amount of aircraft and materiel flowing into the air base before the Russian Air Force finally commenced air operations in earnest out of Hmeimim. A carrier air group by contrast has essentially everything it needs to start operations as soon as it's on station (available aircraft for all roles such as AEW and refueling, support personnel, armaments, fuel, lodging and food for aircrew, etc. capability I'm sure the Kuznetsov crew thought was eye-watering as their deployment was ostensibly a very expensive and roundabout way of ferrying some MiG-29Ks and obsolescent Su-33s to Hmeimim). Hence Clinton saying the first question a President asks when a crisis erupts is "Where's the nearest carrier?". Even absent the carriers the "gap" you mentioned is plugged in by aircraft out of Kadena using aerial refueling This need for rapid flexibility instead of permanent presence is also underscored by the fact that the US Army and Air Force in Europe have since been consolidated with their Africa commands. In terms of ground forces there's only one ABCT in Europe on rotational basis, with the only major combat unit permanently garrisoned being 2nd Cavalry Regiment (raise your hand if you can picture a _Stryker_ Brigade on a road to Moscow). The effort to get a permanent Army presence in Poland during the Trump administration (mind you, an idea put forward by the Polish themselves and attempted to entice Trump to go ahead with it by proposing it be named "Fort Trump") was all but stillborn when the US and Poland failed to resolve the issue of cost-sharing. A more politically expedient solution has been found in the form of simply selling the Polish armed forces M1A2 tanks, and will likely be carried out even if Trump or a Trump-like candidate gets elected in 2024 (more jobs for General Dynamics, after all). You speak of NATO needing a boogey-man to stay relevant. That argument cuts both ways. Russia ranks dead last in trust in institutions, and thus in the middle of a deadly pandemic (excess deaths, considered by epidemiologists to be a far better indicator of the impact of COVID-19 than official death counts, put death rates in Russia at a phenomenally higher rate than the rest of the developed world) Putin needs a big political win on the level of his annexation of Crimea, else normal Russians no longer consent to serfdom to the oligarchs.

  25. "Where No Man Has Gone Before" was the 2nd pilot after "The Cage" with Kirk's old pal Gary Mitchell and Dr Elizabeth Dehner having their latent psychic power boosted by an energy surge at the galactic barrier. It ended up airing 3rd, right after Charlie X as the second episode (but Charlie X was the 8th filmed). Charlie was the sole survivor of ship crash as a kid, and the aliens did alter him so he could survive on their planet. They didn't realize he was going to get a sudden growth in power, and end up taking him back iirc.

  30. kinda relevant if you are able to read a calendar. review the fp article we once again quoted... again. "The Soviet 16th Army — 100,000 strong — launched an invasion of the southern half of Sakhalin Island. Their orders were to mop up Japanese resistance there, and then — within 10 to 14 days — be prepared to invade Hokkaido, the northernmost of Japan’s home islands. The Japanese force tasked with defending Hokkaido, the 5th Area Army, was under strength at two divisions and two brigades, and was in fortified positions on the east side of the island. The Soviet plan of attack called for an invasion of Hokkaido from the west." so not only do you got established historians stating as fact that the soviets were gonna attack hokkaido, but the soviet plan to attack hokkaido were established as a follow-up to their sakhalin island attack, an attack which occurred when? will let low-effort zor look that one up but the soviet attacked sakhalin pre declaration o' surrender. as an aside, 'cause this is zor bait he finds impossible to resist and we need only link to past posts to get a chance to smite again... It took a second Imperial Conference and second intervention of the emperor on August 14 to accept the Byrnes Note. On August 15, 1945, the Emperor broadcast by radio his decision to the Japanese people and the world (Butow 1954 , pp. 207–208, 248; Frank 1999 , pp. 314–315, 320; Hasegawa 2005 , pp. 238–240). But the war had not ended. Soviet combat operations continued in Manchuria. Moreover, the Soviets unleashed an amphibious assault on the Kuril Islands – which thanks to other new revelations we now know was in preparation for a landing by Soviet forces on Hokkaido, the northernmost home island. Only fierce Japanese resistance on Sakhalin Island and President Truman ’ s insistence on meticulous adherence to prior agreements saved Hokkaido from Soviet invasion and probable occupation. Had this happened, almost certainly the Soviets would have obtained some occupation zone in a divided Japan (Frank 1999 , pp. 322–324; Glantz 2003 , pp. 280–307; Hasegawa 2005 , pp. 271–285). and Alongside with these military plans, however, Imperial General Headquarters harbored wishful thinking that there was unlikely to be a Soviet attack. The Kwantung Army had little confidence in its ability to hold the last defense line. As for the Fifth Area Army, it expected that in the event of the anticipated American invasion of the homeland, Hokkaido would be left to defend itself against a possible combined attack by the United States and the Soviet Union. The problem with Hokkaido’s defense was its size, which was as big as the whole of Tohoku and Niigata prefectures combined. The Fifth Area Army had to disperse 114,000 troops to three possible points of attack: one division in the Shiribetsu-Nemuro area in the east, one division at Cape Soya in the north, and one brigade in the Tomakomai area in the west. The fortification of the Shibetsu area had not been completed, and the defense of the Nemuro area was considered hopeless because of the flat terrain. The defense of the north was concentrated at Cape Soya, but nothing was prepared for Rumoi, where the Soviet forces intended to land.[65] The inadequacies of these operational plans, both in the Kwantung Army and the Fifth Area Army, were exposed when the actual Soviet attack came. The military planners had no confidence in the army’s ability to repulse a Soviet invasion of Korea and Hokkaido. As Frank writes, “the Soviet Navy’s amphibious shipping resources were limited but sufficient to transport the three assault divisions in several echelon . The Red Army intended to seize the northern half of Hokkaido. If resistance proved strong, reinforcements would be deployed to aid the capture the rest of Hokkaido. Given the size of Hokkaido, the Japanese would have been hard pressed to move units for a concerted confrontation of the Soviet invasion. The chances of Soviet success appeared to be very good.”[66] Soviet occupation of Hokkaido was thus within the realm of possibility. and In the wee hours of Aug. 24, 1945, Soviet long-range bombers would take off from their air base not far from the Far Eastern port of Vladivostok and fly east, across the Sea of Japan, dropping lethal payloads on the northern Japanese island of Hokkaido. At 5 a.m. that morning, two Soviet regiments would storm their way onshore, followed, in two hours, by a larger force. Within days, two infantry divisions would sweep across northern Hokkaido, cutting the island in half. That was the rough battle plan drawn up by the commander of the Soviet Pacific Fleet, Adm. Ivan Yumashev, at the end of World War II for occupying Hokkaido. Troops were on standby. Submarines were ordered to the Hokkaido coast for reconnaissance in preparation for land invasion, and had even started sinking Japanese ships (tragically, just refugee boats fleeing Soviet operations on nearby Sakhalin Island). The Soviets had by then occupied southern Sakhalin and were mopping up the remnants of the Japanese along the Kuril island chain that stretched from Hokkaido to the Kamchatka Peninsula, in Russia’s far northeast. Although the Red Army was not as experienced as the Americans with landing operations, this Soviet “D-Day” in Hokkaido would’ve been a walkover — the Japanese army was in shambles, and Emperor Hirohito had recently proclaimed defeat. so on the one side we got zor's military expertise OR noteworthy historians who agree the soviets genuine were planning to invade hokkaido, and that the japanese were not only aware o' such plans but were very much concerned by the possibility. is not a contentious issue as to whether or not the soviet were planning an invasion o' hokkaido and it doesn't actual matter if the hokkaido invasion by the soviets would succeed. is kinda irrelevant as to when exact stalin finally decided an invasion o' hokkaido were viable. the important point is whether the japanese believed a soviet invasion were possible and that such an attack could succeed. it were the soviet invasion o' manchuria on august 8, after the first bomb were dropped by the US, which were the event changing the calculus for the japanese. what were previous seen as improbable (soviet invasion) became likely. and yeah, should be obvious to anybody by now that the soviets were indeed planning an invasion o' hokkaido. 'course this is all spam... again. am gonna once again suggest zor watch the hasegawa video, particular from 20:00-30:00ish... maybe... has been more than three years since we initial linked and even we don't recall exact times span which is relevant. yeah, we don't have access to the russian archives, so one needs intelligent speculation and use historical reasoning to guess what is the end goal o' soviets sending large numbers o' troops east, the yalta promises, the russian letting the japanese would know the neutrality pact would not be extended but would continue to be honored through april 1946, and on and on and on. etc. you are embracing and repeated offering your self as a target by defending a belief based on 1970s thinking and history. is well established at this point that the soviet declaration o' war was a pivotal aspect in the japanese surrender calculus. in early 1945 the japanese understood the soviets were wanting what they were promised at yalta and that hokkaido were in danger. japan thought they had until at least 1946 to worry 'bout stalin and the soviets, but with the declaration o' war january 8 and the invasion o' manchuria, all japanese hope to be fighting only the americans evaporated. 'ccording to japanese high command debate on the issue, the concern were that there were no longer a chance to create enough carnage with a US invasion to be resulting in better terms o' surrender, 'cause in a matter o' weeks the soviets would be attacking and the japanese were curiously not prepared for such. soviets most certainly were not a future problem, as should be obvious from linked historians who have real resumes and reputation and is speaking the current mainline historical pov. japanese were still debating fighting the americans after hiroshima, but the soviet declaration and invasions changed the situation. "Hasegawa fails to sustain his main arguments with the necessary evidence. At best, he leaves the revisionist case as he found it, in ruins. Indeed, he makes the rubble bounce by convincingly demonstrating that the Soviet Union very much was racing to get into the Pacific War in order to facilitate its expansionist policies in the Far East. Those who seek the definitive analysis on the end of the Pacific War will have to look elsewhere. A good place to begin is Frank’s Downfall." --prof. michael kort frank is one o' the folks quoted earlier, one o' the most frequent quoted individuals in point o' fact on these issues, and he is most assured one o' those historians believing the soviet declaration o' war were pivotal in the japanese surrender decision. am not sure why you continue to wanna bullseye your self on this. HA! Good Fun! ps am not sure why we got strikethru for half the post

  31. I am not aware that we've received any feedback from Obsidian about format or how to group things for suggestions (outside of they go in the feedback/suggestions forum). Therefore this is entirely my speculation, but I'd think you'd probably want to group suggestions logically (thread for armor, thread for insects, thread for weapons, thread for skills) rather than a master thread with everything or a unique thread for each idea (either of which could prove overwhelming for readers). There isn't a way to identify if a developer has read your thread unless they respond to it (in that case it gets the OBS icon next to the thread).

  33. Use the survey station to search for twinkling shells. Go to that area. WALK around the area indicated on the map. Staying off the ground helps. If it sees you, it'll hit the NOS and there is no catching it. If you chase it, it will burrow into the ground and you cannot dig it up. You'll probably only get one shot. Use a crossbow, as strong as you can get it, with splinter arrow and a crow feather cap. The sharpshooter mutation may pin it to the ground and provide a second shot but if your crossbow is strong enough you should be able to one-shot them with that gear. If you don't kill it with the first shot, you may be able to hit it again while it's running (I've done that once), and if you follow it slowly enough it may start walking back towards you and give you a second chance. But to consistently farm them, you'll need to one-shot them. Spotting them first is the hard part.

Pathfinder has the same problem for me as every Bethesda open world RPG - the setting fells like a theme park, not a coherent world, also if dictionary entry for word "derivative" needs an illustration, they should look no further than Pathfinder. I find Obsidian's settings both more original and more believable, with a little side effect of it being hard to be mean to characters there, whereas Pathfinder's world and characters make me want to go full Nerat on them.

  38. I think it would be great if you added preserving cooked meat to the game using salt shards. People have used this for ages in real life, so I think it should be added to the game.

  39. I think it'd be nice to see the armor sets cover more of the characters bodies... I feel like it's lacking in that department especially when we work so hard to farm for this gear only to see it cover a small amount of our characters bodies.

  40. Kind of agree and kind of not, maybe they designed them in that way to not cover all the character desing, but I think as well some armors should cover more, acorn armor for example covers enough but then better sets cover less, like black ant armour... Lady bug is nice as well but then antlion armor, well the set bonus is useful but it looks like a T1/2 armor . For a survival game where you see that "kids" got miniaturized on the garden you expect they will cover all their body the first moment they see a giant ant or spider, if I learn how to build me an armor on that enviroiment, Im sure I will cover all my body to feel protected, not just the knees and shoulders

  41. Agree. The roly poly armor is a step in the right direction.

  42. I am in favor of all of these ideas. I would also like servers that friends can play on 24/7 whether the host is online or not.

  43. OK, I found the thread from PoE1. (They should pin it there, it was hard to find ) https://forums.obsidian.net/topic/86684-mechanics-the-big-attack-speed-conundrum/ Its very complicated, but I guess the main point is that - Only dex influenced attack duration, all things that say " attack speed " influence only recovery - Most factors that influenced recovery speed were multiplicative, so stacking bonusses gave increasing returns Back to PoE2: @Thelee: What do you mean by "normalize"? I looked into wikipedia and there are many possible meanings, I am not sure what you mean. In my physics institute it usually means: We did several measurements and made plots from it, we give an importent feature in every plot the value 1 (all values in a plot are divided by the value of this feature), then we put all plots on top of each other and we can compare the shape of this feature between the different measurements.

  44. Yeah, now that you mention it, you may be right. The aliens just altered Charlie so he could survive on his own, or something. edit: The other one had the galactic barrier affect two crewmen, I think. The order in which they are shown depends a bit on the release you have. There's some original DVDs that went by broadcast order, the remastered edition that went by remastering order and there's another edition that goes by the production order of the original show. So yeah, the one with the galactic barrier at least aired as new pilot. Confusing, all in all.
