  1. I went to the airport yesterday. While the taxi was driving down the motorway, suddenly the hood flipped up and smashed against the windshield. --------- I was in a plane yesterday. As we were landing the pilot suddenly pulled the plane up sharply. We heard him breathe sharply into the mic. After a moment a flight attendant came on and said: "Dear passengers, we had to abort the landing. An explanation will follow shortly." The pilot came on: "Dear passengers, a plane taxied onto our runway so we had to abort the landing. We'll make a U-turn and try again..." Exasperated breathing. ------- I took the subway yesterday. Nothing exciting happened. I like the subway.

  2. every great wyrm of middle earth started off relative humble. and sure, what lizard with dreams o' a big pile of gold hasn't had a momentary fling with soybean investments or the like? even so, all it takes is a roll o' dirty twenties, hard work, a dream... and a bit o' luck along the way. that or you can inherit. we highly recommend inheriting. HA! Good Fun!

  4. 0.11.0 Public Test - 3342 to 3353 Changes (Only noticeable across Public Test Builds) Loading old saves that have active or available "Analyze" BURG.L quests will no longer have loading failures (crash, missing bases, etc.). (Not retroactive for saves made on Public Test builds 3342 or 3337). Transferring items from containers no longer randomly triggers a crash. Consuming items from your inventory no longer randomly triggers a crash. Biometric Scanner now says "Hold to Use" to better communicate that the input required is a press and hold input. Using the Biometric Scanner at the end of the Haze lab properly positions your character in front of it. Assistant Manager boss fight tuning. Removed temp magnifying glass. Hot Craft does not show up for items that require special buildings to craft (Oven, etc.). Milk Molar upgrades properly reapply on load. Milk Molar UI properly refreshes for clients. Gnats no longer murder grubs when far away from the player. Using a bomb to break the glass to get into the Black Ant Hill lab is easier to execute (less finicky on where the bomb is placed). Black Ant Parts have correct item icons. Globs have correct item icons. Roly Polys no longer tolerate players standing on their back when aggro'd. Additional terrain sculpting and propping pass. 'Snap to Grid' control can be rebound. Brainpower required to unlock new levels tuned. Assistant Manager traps can no longer be blocked. Certain weapons should no longer display the same candy upgrade path multiple times in the UI Armors should no longer sometimes take durability damage after you attack. Swords now have their own damage type: "Slashing" Affects 1 handed and 2 handed swords (except the rapier, which is still piercing damage) Enemies have their own strengths/weaknesses against Slashing damage. Can no longer harvest choppable harvest nodes Gas mask durability lasts twice as long in stinkbug and rotten food gas. Great Swords now attack faster than Clubs. All globs now unlocked via BURG.L chips found in the western yard. Bows can no longer be upgraded down candy paths. Candy and Salt arrows can now be crafted. Learned via analyzing the respective candy/salt shards.

  5. Would love to be able to go inside the beehive to have a look around! What would you find in there? Plenty! - Honey Globs - needs the T2 shovel to dig them out. Makes a great food source but needs to be melted down in an oven first to make it into its goopy, edible form. It doesn't go bad, and restores about 4x as much as a mushroom. - Bee larvae - an easy prey for the curious explorer, as long as you don't enrage the worker bees nearby. The larva, however, will attempt to defend itself by attacking or trying to hide within the hexagonal walls of the hive, and may get a hit or two in on you before you can kill it. Drops raw bee larva meat and a new type of goop that is used for a smoothie base. The new smoothie base doubles the power and effects of any smoothie you make with it. Attacking a larva in the presence of a worker bee will enrage the worker bee and it may even call for backup. - Queen Bee: A new boss that you can find in the middle of the hive. Similar in stats to the broodmother, but a bit easier to kill. You find her laying eggs in her chamber high up in an area you can't really reach or shoot to as she will be behind a wax wall until you summon her. She is triggered by placing a Mac & Bees inside her chamber, which enrages her, seeing how her workers are becoming food, triggering her to chew through the wax wall and start her attack. She would have a supersonic wing flap attack that propels you backwards and makes you drop your weapons if you are too close, a swift series of bite attacks a bit faster than a wolf spider's, a body slam attack where she flies up and attemps to buster dive you into the ground with her sheer weight, a ground pound attack that stuns you if you're too close, a pollen puff attack that slows you down and additionally halves your attack power for about 30 seconds, and summons larvae and worker bees to help her in the fight at various stages, first four larvae that attack by popping out of the groud as you try and walk about, then two larvae and two worker bees, then four worker bees when she's almost dying. After defeating her, you unlock a new mutation that makes your glider last a ton longer and additionally you can use it to glide faster and for much longer distances (the drop rate decreaes significantly) giving you a semi-flight ability if you go to high places and jump. You also get the Stinger of the Queen Bee, which is a T3 dagger you can craft from queen bee fuzz and a queen bee stinger that deals spicy damage on hit and is about twice as powerful as a spider fang dagger. You can also get a new armor piece, Her Majesty's Gown, which is a body piece of T3 medium armor that releases pollen spores if you get hit, slowing enemies, made from queen bee fuzz and regular bee fuzz. - Bee eggs: Used to make a T2 bomb, the Buzzburst. It deals significantly more damage than a Bratburst, and can be upgraded with pollen and honey globs to a Bluffburst, which will release pollen spores on explosion, slowing down enemies and cutting their attack power in half for a short time. Just be prepared to have an entire hive after you if you try stealing bee eggs. The buzzburst would need to be used to bust up certain rocks that a bratburst/splatburst is too weak to do (maybe an endgame area in the future) - Bee wax - can be harvested from the walls of the hive, and is used as a sturdy building material to make a hexagonal-like building of your own. Can also make a Waxy Glob for weapon upgrades.

  6. Yeah, I know. I re-worded that post a good amount of times to take the edge out of it, if you feel like it's still in there, that was only semi-intentional. I'm also not expecting anyone to be considerate towards my weird sensitivities. That's entirely unreasonable. It just is what it is. It's not like I can help it, weird hardwiring is weird. Okay, I think I need to edit my post. That seems to come across as much crasser than it was supposed to.

  7. I would like to preface this post by saying that some of you guys inadvertently shot yourself in the foot trying to be funny, but before I'm beginning to excessively talk about my second most favorite topic besides Sailor Moon, namely myself*, let me agree with @Bartimaeus here, and he can feel left out by any "you"s in the following paragraphs. @Amentep can do that too, because his avatar change happened in parallel and not in response to this thread (or at least I will give him the benefit of the doubt). I'll do my best and try to take your trolling as good natured fun, and not as mean spirited, however I expected more of you. No, scratch that, after the past few pages of Faris GIF spam, I didn't. Cretins, the lot of you. Fie! FIE! Disclaimer: The above is a good natured joke. Like your avatars. At least you guys don't feel a weird brain itch, probably just some twang of remorse. Sumimasen! So and now for the part that you can probably gloss over because it could potentially get into TL;DR territory. I'll put it in spoiler tags for formatting (and for the off-chance that Bruno clicks on the thread, I doubt he could be bothered to look through any spoilers). TL;DR: Nice try, but it's not doing what you thought it would. @Sarex' avatar is offensive on a whole different level, so he's the only one of you who managed to troll me in some way. Good job, I guess. *According to the hokum that my birth horoscope is, I should try to not talk about myself too much. Reading this thread one could actually get the idea that I'm actually doing that, but it's just something that readily comes up, not something sought out. Astrology is still hokum. What a surprise.

  8. Google says that's Justy Euki Tylor from The Irresponsible Captain Tylor. Right, then. Meanwhile, I can't figure out what KP's is from at a glance because approximately a billion different people have used it for their avatars across many different platforms and it's too much work to sort through that crap. I would also like to point out that I'm the only one that changed my avatar in good faith - the rest of these cretins did it just to troll you and/or simply follow the leader, @majestic, .

  14. Butterflies and caterpillars need to be a thing for sure, it would make a ton of sense to see them around the backyard in various places. Perhaps you'll see butterflies hanging around the flowerbeds during the day, and at night you could have moths that come out around the lights. Would be cool to see them getting annoyed by the gnats. Perhaps high in the hedge you'd find the caterpillars munching on some of those leaves, and maybe even some cocoons you could bust open with a T2 hammer for Crysalis Shell, a component in a T2/T3 medium armor set.

  15. there are 3 summoner classes (necro, ocultist and shaman) I would go with necro + any other of these two based on what flavor you like. you can respec quite easily and cheaply at for first few times (but not change classes) so go nuts and experiment. You don't need much strategy for normal diff especially because your equip will be all over the place but in late game its advised to focus on one or two damage types and max out your resistances Also try to get to lvl 30 in one class before you pick second one to get to exclusive skill first

  19. After 1600+ hours this is the first time I've done a combination of: - turning on Hylea's challenge (requiring you to escort and protect Vela) - having Rekke in my party as a primary companion Eventually Rekke learns common, as anyone who's used Rekke might know. What you might not know is that at one point Vela and Rekke interact and it becomes clear that Rekke is teaching Vela Seki. (in German because of my mod/I'm learning, but roughly translated: Vela: Hello Rekke: Have you returned for more Seki lessons? Vela: Do we really have to? Rekke: [something something in Seki] Vela Vela: [something something in Seki]) Just never fails to impress me how Obsidian adds these little bits of reactivity (with voice actors, no less) in extremely obscure situations that ~1% of the player base may ever encounter. (e.g. how many people have ever turned on hylea's challenge? and then played long enough with rekke for rekke to learn common?)

  21. Still on Tales of Arise. And no, I haven't quite beaten the story. After that long dialogue/skit heavy few hours romp, there was finally ... some action! ... then more not-action. Then finally ... some action! In the forum of a dungeon. This room by room/floor by floor went on, and on, and on. A situation where once begun you won't leave because you'd have to clear it all again. I finally reached the spot for the FINAL FIGHT (game warns you), which thankfully also had a teleporter thingie so I could leave and come back if I wanted. Park, and exit. That all said, this game still has things that have made me giggle, and I like some of the mild grind (even if you don't have to actually grind) and later side-quests and one or two chrs etc. so I give it bonus points for that. it's mostly this end-story-train I haven't liked/leaves a sour taste after a while. Most of the rest I've enjoyed well enough.

  22. Some people can't handle the sublime gameplay and near limitless viable character builds of GD. Let them enjoy their casual game. I keed, I keed, D2 is a fine game. As for me, I'm still on The Great Squirrel Hunt in Lost Judgment. I've found and completed 36 of 56 so far. I refuse to look up the locations, I'm determined to find them all myself.

  24. You know, without having watched the others, yeah, I would readily agree that Blood-C is borderline bad, but in this day and age "It could be worse!" is sadly a mark of quality on its own. How depressing. I think I need to watch something that looks good soon. edit: Out of the examples that aren't Blood-C, Girls' Last Tour is the only one I really enjoyed, and that is very much in spite of its looks.

  25. I looked at all of those, and I was like, "Yeah, thing is, I actually like Sakura: Clear Card more still..." Then I actually looked back up and was like "wait, actually, no I freaking don't, they look like horrific aliens". All of these look pretty bad to me, but if I had to pick one that looks the most terriblest, it is Love Live...followed by probably Crystal (especially if you're looking at season 1 Crystal which I don't think is the particular screenshot you included), then Clear Card, then...I guess Last Tour, then Blood-C. So I guess you're right.

  26. Edited my original post for the ladybugs bucking you off - tried that myself today just to experiment and yep it hurts! I think it should probably hurt a lot less than what it does, since it's just propelling you upwards, but hey I'm glad they stopped the cheese strategy for it If anything I'd say it should stun you and make you drop your equipped weapons, making you scramble for them and regroup before the lady of the clover forest mows you down

  27. Basically everything is allowed as long as it doesn't come from external sources. Probably the most OP build for the ultimate is a Bloodmage who steals the most powerful/useful priest/druid/wizard spells using the Grimoire Imprint trick... The assassin is probably the most powerful class you can build using SoF trick, but he will have more difficulties to keep Vela alive.

  28. I literally just said it would be hard or impossible to actually get revenge so I don't see why you bring that up as a counterpoint. The point isn't that I wanted to be able to get revenge on Eothas, it's that the game barely recognises that I'd feel like i want to (while at the same time realising its probably not going to happen). Plenty people are angry at things much larger and powerful then they are (governments, corporations etc.) without expecting to be able to do much of anything about it. I just want the option to spit in his face and call him an idiot.

  29. Obsidian "baddies" knock the Hell out of Far Cry pseudo villains. EDIT: I am playing Path of Exile as a Duelist, which is a class clearly catering to my standards. Let's hope I can actually get through it this time and not get bored 1/3 of the way through due grind fatigue.

  32. Today was a holiday here, so I decided to binge watch LoGH. It was well worth it. The story built up and by episodes 71 and 72 there was one of the best battles so far. If not the best. Just because they keep talking about the two great military genious, it is easy to forget what others, more experienced strategists can do. And numerical disadvantage be damned.

  35. Blood-C turns out to have a couple of (for me ) recognizable voice actors. The cafe guy is Tuxedo Mask from Sailor Moon Crystal. Saya is Rue from Princess Tutu. Saya's father is AC/DC Esidisi from JoJo's (among other things), the twin girls from Saya's class are Chibiusa/Black Lady from Sailor Moon Crystal. In terms of the episode I can't say much more than @Bartimaeus already did. Curiously weird introduction sequence with pretty terrible ENGRISH in the song. Not sure the teacher should show up dressed like that in front of teenagers, but hey, I guess some concessions are in order here and there. Aside from the opening scene that looked a bit uncanny, the art isn't half bad. I mean, for something that is from 2011, this looks nice. Even if the character models are a little giraffe-ish. It's also already noticably CLAMPy in certain things. All in all it's off to a good start. It might turn sour a ways down, but so far so good.

  36. the thing is, it makes sense from a paizo pov to not have 1st edition being bolstered while they is trying to sell 2e pnp products. when black isle was working on what was effective bg3, it were made kinda clear it could not be another 2nd edition d&d game, 'cause wotc had moved on from 2nd edition. assume same reasoning for paizo, yes? converse, owlcat has already invested in developing an engine which supports 1e, so what is their motivation to embrace 2e? got no idea what is the license agreement 'tween paizo and owlcat, but perhaps they is ps:t fans and both parties embraced the rule of three? *shrug* all we got is a recollection o' yulia responding to the 2e question during a beta stream, which is hardly definitive. even so, is curious paizo licensed the development o' a 1e game, much less two such titles. is reasonable to assume paizo would want 2e instead o' 1e. unfortunate, reasonable is rare a good guide for predicting human behaviour. edit: have not watched any o' this, but is paizo folks and owlcat discussing wotr and kingmaker. HA! Good Fun!

  37. The excitement of a new ladder is literally the only draw to ever playing again for me, and that possibility will be gone soon once the original game dies what with D2:R and all. I'll probably never play an ARPG ever again, for a few different reasons. Trading was a disaster in that game until d2jsp came around. Can't imagine going back to in-game trading. Uber Diablo was added back in 2003 (1.10), while Pandemonium came in 2005 (1.11). But if you were using the ancient Guided Arrow bug, that was in 1.09 before either of those, .

  38. For me I think you've hit a lot of the good points. They put so much work into the engine for this game, that I really wish they could leverage that and make a PoE3, saving costs by keeping most of the internals working with some minor tweaks under the hood to polish turn-based mode or enable a few fancier graphics and faster load times. It might not be an AAA game, but "poor sales" in this context is really just a mismatch between expectations and reality. For a lower budget, the same sales could be amazing. Lord knows that Ubisoft and Arkane and Bethesda are all just using the same engine (with modifications) between their games in a similar way. I really think they could do PoE or classic BG style and just voice the main lines. While I'm impressed with how thoroughly things are voiced, I think this is culprit #1 in soaring costs (that needed high sales) and makes every little change or DLC that much more expensive to produce. I've played plenty of other recent-ish games that aren't fully voiced, and I don't feel like I've missed out that much, honestly.

  39. 12 Angry Men (1957). The entire movie takes place in one room, twelve jurors discussing the guilt of an accused murderer where all of the evidence is stacked up against the accused. What a great movie, especially because of but certainly not just for the time - it would be great even if it were made today, though stylistic differences as a result of being made today would probably make a much weaker film out of it. I can see why it's rated up there with the best of all time: it did everything perfectly right without going too strongly one way or the other and it concluded just as it should've if you have any belief in the core concepts of "innocent until proven guilty" and "beyond reasonable doubt". Characters, dialogue, themes, plot, filming, premise...this one absolutely goes into my small "favorites of all-time" pile.
