  2. They're both bottoms tho It has been a wild ride seeing a lot of the supposed freedom fans just come out as authoritarian bootlickers the second they found a dictator to believe in. Not really surprising if you listened to them intently, but kinda funny to see them come out and show their whole asses. The disadvantage with Biden will probably come from people thinking that getting him in means they can go off to brunch for the next few years. Stuff like the recent unionizing attempts (like in Bessemer), activism surrounding police (mis)conduct, or disenfranchisement and gerrymandering shouldn't be slept on.

  4. Hi guys, I thought I could write a separate post to make this suggestion. Not sure you will like it but I hope it sounds interesting to you as it does to me. Thinking about wounds, I have been wondering ... What if BDD was reworked in a way that you still survive if your HP reaches 0 but every time this happens you get a wound (the one corresponding to the attack that was lethal) and if it is the 4th wound you die instead? To avoid getting 4 wounds too quickly and instadie with sth silly like Minoletta Minor Missiles, every time your HP reaches 0, BDD could either reset your HP to 50-100 HP or give you very brief immortality (not invulnerability because you should still be affected by debuffs). Thinking about it I like the 2nd option more, like 3 secs immortality. What do you guys think? do you like the idea? this could encourage you to carry 20 Adra Potions in your quick slots and survive max 60 deaths (lol, better pay attention to your wounds!), or encourage you to try to counterplay and heal yourself and keep your HP high whenever possible. (All of this assuming that currently you don´t die even if an enemy specifically causes you a 4th wound, which looks correct according to this clip with Belranga at 2:03:35)

  5. Yeah, the problem with many of the DC movies seems to be that they're conceived when the current zeitgeist is one thing, then finished when it's moved on to something else. Then it tests badly with audiences, and tinkering begins to hammer a square movie into round perceived audience appeal. So you end up with something like Suicide Squad, a disjointed non sensical mess that would almost certainly have been better either without or with much less tinkering. OTOH WW84 probably needed some more supervision to hammer out its issues, but didn't get it. You probably have to blame the executives for that, since they're ultimately the ones in charge but it certainly is a bit damned if you do, damned if you don't.

  6. A not-uncommon opinion is that BG3 is a case of Larian ruining a D&D game. But I'm more inclined to say that BG3 is a case of D&D ruining a Larian game. Okay, maybe "ruining" is too strong a word. I don't dislike the game as such. Perhaps it's good that Larian are held back from some of their most lavish immersion-breaking tendencies. But many times it does really feel like the D&D licence is a strait-jacket that stifles the overall design direction - many D&D tropes are after all immutable and sacrosanct and I would not expect and subversion of these to be allowed by the terms of the licence. Furthermore, I did find that the worst parts of my experience tended to come whenever it tried to lean really hard into rolling that ol' d20 for outcomes. Now, there's a good counter-argument that "failure is interesting", and in principle I agree. But practically speaking, having checks structured in the way that they are increases the number of potential outcomes by 50% (and that's assuming a single roll situation, many times the game demands multiple consecutive rolls for success), and the extra writing and scripting required quickly explodes to levels unmanageable by any game developer if they want to keep all the branches interesting and unique. The reality then becomes that the "failure" state simply becomes the mindless fallback of hostilities breaking out. It's like games where failing a pickpocket attempt similarly turns an entire town hostile, it's not a useful or interesting turn of events and just leads to save-scumming.

  7. What do you think about this: BDD purges itself when triggered or is one-use per cast effect. Then creates barier (like Her Courage - which is actually temporary HP) for x+y*PL points for z sec, to protect character from instant death by next dmg. One still needs to react (heal or reposition), before barier will break or expire. This way one can extend BDD effect, but it's still disposable. Shield effect could be extended too, but it doesn't give immortality due to finite barier points.

  8. Strange, huh? It's just two episodes with a little more background information and an almost change of heart in Tiger's-Eye treatment of Makoto and suddenly what by all means should be a group of irredeemable bastards can be seen in a slightly different light. They're transformed predators, so no wonder they're predatorial. They're given a job that they can't possibly succeed at through no fault of their own and have absolutely no agency in their life, and the rest of the Dead Moon don't even extend them the courtesy of telling them that they're not truly human. Instead they're left to wonder why they have no beautiful dreams of their own - and Zirconia lies to their face, because they were transformed without Pegasus, so how and why would they need Pegasus to stay transformed? While I didn't really like the two story episodes where Usagi is nice to Fish-Eye (I hated them a lot less than KP did, by the looks of it), the three slowly coming to terms with realizing that their lives are essentially over, nor did their lives ever matter because they're not truly real anyway, does have a tragic element. The episode you have or haven't seen by now (not sure) has Fish-Eye begging Tiger's-Eye to use the last of their transformative magic to save Usagi's life, to which he agrees. If Pegasus had not shown up to turn the puppets into real boys then the tragedy of their existence paired with their ultimate loss in making at least one thing right (i.e. healing Usagi) might have been an acceptable, beautiful ending to what otherwise was a horrible waste of a story setup that by the looks of it got mired in rewrites and retooling. Because the entire dream rape plot is so out of sync with the bubbly, and otherwise at times really childish, dreamlike feel to the rest of the season that it would take a schizophrenic moron to come up with it, and the story development of the season is credited to the same person who made otherwise top rated S episodes (like your Minako favorites): Yoji Enokido. The S episode where the talismans appear is the top rated episode of Sailor Moon on IMDB even (the Japanese original entry, not the DiC dub entry) at a 9,3. Not that user ratings on IMDB say much, Iron Sky has a lame 6.something there last time I checked and deserves an 8+, but still. I'd say this season was planned to be a lot more serious than it turned out, parts were rewritten, things from the pre-production pushed back and forth. Ah, well... here's to hoping you like Stars better.

  9. It seems as though I accidentally skipped an episode - what I thought was episode 149 was actually 150, whoops! I was wondering what the hell happened to the three creeps, since they just completely disappeared. This season would be confused enough before you even add my out of order and missing episodes in, and that's certainly not helping. But seriously, the hell?

  10. Fair enough, it was an Ami episode and But not one of the best Ami episodes imo. Fishcreep. Like I said before, after some point he simply starts appearing out of nowhere, sometimes even when he is not the main villain of the episode. He is there among the girls learning Ballet, or in the beauty contest, on the beach and so on. I don't wanna know what he is up to while he is not shown, but it is probably worse than what @majestic showed above. He should be punished by being forced to watch this season over and over again forever. Tiger's Eye: There were some funny moments with those guys, but only when their plans failed and they were ignored by Naru, the girl who was interested in Mamoru and so on. Also:

  13. So, the EU had been threatening to block vaccine exports to the UK, including making (false) allegations that the UK has an export ban- in actuality they just got a guaranteed delivery contract instead of the EU stupidly going for a 'best effort' one because they thought they'd have domestic offerings. The response from Pfizer has been to point out that they receive critical ingredients from the UK, and any reciprocation of ban would see the EU with way less vaccine rather than more. Pretty much sums up the overall competence of the EU's response- make an empty threat backed up with outright lies, when the vaccine you're relying on requires ingredients from the country you're threatening. And they seemingly didn't have a clue that that's the case despite vaccines being perhaps the single most important acute need strategic resource on the planet at the moment. The previous crop of EU appointees weren't exactly inspiring except the thoroughly competent Mogherini, but the current crop are making them look like Solon.

  15. Yeah, it doesn't disable it fully, not like setting it to the minimum level on Windows 7 used to. Nothing defaults to admin-elevated even with it set to minimum. Hey, since you disabled updates in Group Policy, do you know if there is a way to shut Windows Defender up about updating its virus definitions? I've firewalled the entire OS from accessing the internet, but doing so causes Windows Defender to incessantly yell at me about its definitions. I tried Googling it, but was surprised that there were no helpful answers at all. The next step was to start digging through Group Policy myself... @Sarex It's been seven years since Windows 10 released. I don't understand why it's taken so incredibly long to switch over fully to Settings - I'll believe it when I see it. What, are you kidding? That's how IT people keep their jobs - Microsoft is trying to get rid of all of us!

  16. It wasn't that the ball thing was forgettable per se (its design as a weird object as a ball specifically makes it a lot more memorable than most of the rest), it's that it was weird and a little uncomfortable, . Also, not gonna lie, probably gonna skip past the Makoto thing because I don't like my beloved characters being subjected to this, . As for that moment with Luna, no, that was funny. I said it some posts ago, but that's what's weird and unfortunate about this season - there are still lots of enjoyable little moments in most every episode, it's just that too many episodes as a whole have become net negatives instead of net positives, whereas in previous seasons, that was never really the case outside of literally like just a few very rare episodes that personally didn't work for me (usually because it was too heavy-handed and focused on the story). @majestic RE: SU

  17. I like it! Simple but making the resource management interesting in a no-rest playthough Would X be high like 6-10? Otherwise if it is like 3 it might be too much. I see another potential issue when Berath Challenge is off and you repeatedly engage then scape within the same encounter, making it count as several encounters? Not sure if you would like it, a bit of a crazy idea, but an alternative could be that once per the combat you have to achieve something extremely difficult to get it (but it must also not be trivializable or tedious). Combat games like Street Fighter comes to mind, where if you achieve a difficult combo of your attacks (x2, x3...) you unlock a super power. In Deadfire perhaps you would have to achieve in a quick row an enormous amount of absolute or percentage-wise damage/healing or buff/debuff time (or also tank an enormous amount of damage). I said it... a bit crazy! I also personally like the Cycling Spell Tiers idea the most. No idea about the issue with PL3. To me 1 spell / 6s sounds reasonable if it is at a high cost (1 resource / 6s for martial classes sounds bad in comparison though). I would have expected that the drinker would be fully aware of the drawbacks and not use it if he/she has 3 injuries and has no more Adra Potions, but I agree if that happened it would suck a lot !

  23. I mean, half the internet complained that DC movies are too dark. Also Marvel had success with their "lol so funny" superhero movies. So I guess they just tried to do the same with whatever they got. That being said, similar to Mad Max: Fury Road there will be a black and white edition of Justice League. So in case the movie isn't dark enough yet, there will be more.

  25. No, I haven't watched it yet - I've been watching like a dozen SU episodes because I'm a crack addict and can't stop watching. I'll probably do that tomorrow. Thanks for putting some words into my feelings, because all of what you just said is how I felt even if I didn't know exactly how to describe it: their stories are really messed up and it feels like they got screwed at every turn, both in and out of universe. This shouldn't have been how all of this went down - it feels grossly tragic on multiple levels, for literally everyone (ourselves, the villains, our heroes, and every other random character sullied with this sorry affair). Well, I'm gonna keep doing what I've been doing and blame Naoko Takeuchi for this mess, . If I ever re-watch SuperS (...doubtful?), I may try to take a slightly kinder eye towards this first half of the season...but it still wouldn't make it any less painful, I think.

  26. A bit late to the topic, but 2020 was weird for all of us. I feel that Rymrgand simply steps in to assume control of natural processes and entropy, to ensure that they don't happen outside the gods' control (and we all know, if there's anything Engwith loved, it's control). Souls will fracture either way, and leaving that to chance, rather than appointing one of your buddies to watch over the process is asking for trouble.

  27. No, this was their introduction episode all right, you only see them in shadows in the one before. I hinted at it before, but that circus act was more or less directly from the manga. So, no surprise it wasn't that fun. I think it's two episodes until PallaPalla gets something to do, if you don't find that wacky enough than the villains in this season are completely unsalvagable for you. That would be okay. I was just glad to be rid of the creeps in one way or the other, so I might have... wait, I posted that already. Might have overrated the coming episodes based on no creeps and almost on Pegasus. edit: Spoiler! edit: I watched that Amanda Miller interview you mentioned. Or at least one with similar questions asked. Heh. Funny how people always say the same when it comes to Makoto, they liked her because "you can be feminine and still kick ass" - you go Makoto. Also had a hearty laugh at the interviewer asking about the differences in voice acting for the classic anime and Crystal, and Amanda Miller does her best, as she says, to not sound "dumb" when in reality she seems like she doesn't want to go and say the show's crap.

"I quoted him in a short article published by this magazine on January 6 saying that the break-in “was not going to solve a thing, and then to see the police get treated the way they were treated, it’s ridiculous.” Standing nearby, listening in on our little interview, was a woman in a Carhartt jacket whose voice made her sound like a human ashtray. She croaked that she did enjoy watching the break-in, to which Ellis cracked: “That’s because you’re from Massachusetts!” I asked Ellis if he regretted his decision to come to D.C. that day, pointing out that what was happening in the background was surely an act of domestic terrorism. He said he didn’t have any regrets, because “there’s a lot of Trump supporters that are awesome people, like me.” He wasn’t trying to be cute — it was clear that he wanted to stick up for Trump supporters writ large without being tarred as a rioter." am admitting we were kinda surprised at the extreme reactions to ellis, and then the equal extreme reactions to those who tweeted or commented. am not sure if is a social media thing or just 2021, but all too often it feels like many wanna be irate and/or indignant even when those same persons lament the loss o' more sober days. not every hill is one worth dying, regardless o' exclamations 'bout principle to justify the extremism. HA! Good Fun!

  29. I'm retiring the spoiler tags for SuperS, screw this. Uh...honestly, they were a little underwhelming. I expected their big introduction to be wackier and more over-the-top, but instead they kind of just stood around and didn't do much. Well, I guess their big introduction was probably the previous episode? I'll have to watch that and find out. Or not - does it matter? ...I guess I should, just so I've """completely""" watched the season, once I also watch the first...four, was it, episodes that I missed, and also ignore that I've skipped several minutes of most episodes. This is just not a good season. I think I'll write a little more on the three creeps once I actually watch episode 149. @InsaneCommander Yeah, I'm reminded a little of Mimette. Actually, I thought I HEARD Mimette's voice actress for one of them in this English dub, but I wasn't entirely sure because it's obviously a different voice and they didn't speak too much...

  34. No, the Fire Stag has an activable attack with 2 effects : Fire AoE and Destroy self. They are separated effects, that's why the explosion still happens even if BDD prevents the Destroy part. There is no "trigger" for the AoE (unless one uses Balance Polishing Mod of course then it triggers on Death)

  37. It's an hard-coded effect called "prevent death". It's an all-or-nothing effect (no parameters apart duration) that basically prevents health from going below 1. Also auto-rez would get one wounded 100% of time. The wound is not part of the effect but because you have been knocked first. Also there is no effect in the game that cures 1 wound, only effects that cure all the wounds (such as potion of Luminous Adra). So not possible to generate a wound from knock-down and cures it 50% of time because of barring death door. The idea would be to keep the "prevent death" part so it would prevent knockdown anyway, but implement an additional side-effects that trigger when health is already below 5% and damaged (or whatever percentage... could also be 25% so it is in line with Near Death definition but in that case it coud happen witj a significant health total). That in the case you describe, you would be saved from death, stay at 1 health and get no side-effect. But the next damages taken will be very likely to trigger side-effects. Yeah, if at 4% and taking 1% damages, the side effects could trigger even if damages would not have been fatal. As I said, this solution isn't perfect. I think it would not proc with DoT ticks but probably with pulse ticks such as chillfog. Other note : we should keep in mind that Prevent Death might be the effect that keeps Death Godlike manageable. Without it (or with a complete rework), their special might become a bit too much tedious to use.

  42. I am still playing Fable Anniversary, its a light hearted game and not a serious RPG but good fun and entertaining I am using a Controller as opposed to my normal choice of M\KB. Its interesting but I find it doesnt take me long to be become proficient with a Controller, normally a few hours. And using a Controller for certain games is just better like Sleeping Dogs and Fable Anyway after about 20 hours I got to the battle with Jack of Blades and I found it unreasonably hard and frustrating to defeat him. I tried for about 2 hours but kept getting killed by problems with movement and accessing potions So I found a good Mod on Nexus that enhances the Slow Time spell to literally freeze time for about 90 seconds in RL I used that Mod and was able to defeat him and then uninstalled that Mod because it would unbalance the game in further battles which I want to win without " cheating " But once again it never ceases to amaze how Mods can enhance and improve your gaming experience
