  1. Here is the most recent update of my list. Nothing new has been added to it but it should hopefully have all the redeemed games removed.

  2. Night fishing at shell island all last night. Beautiful night, millions of stars. It got pretty chilly. Sunny was NOT happy. I made a fire by the slough and she slept so close some fur might have been singed. But I caught two Hard Head marine Catfish. One half again as long as my arm! Heading back to Burns point for some fired catfish, hot coffee and a shower.

  3. I didn’t know that. That’s pretty wild. I think it’s probably better just to leave them as their written. They were a product of their time. The fact that that is offensive now is a credit to us more than a detriment to the people of those times. Maybe the proper message would not be to clean up the past so much as be proud that we left it in the past. But when it comes to children’s reading material that probably doesn’t work

  5. More like doubleplusungood, right? However, believe it or not, that's unfair to Deanna Troi. Every now and then she did something else than play Captain Obvious, and she has some character development. However, Sailor Moon Crystal doesn't make an effort in giving Rei any meaningful screen time at all. If Rei wouldn't show up every now and then as Sailor Mars to throw some fireballs at enemies repeating what just happened on screen would be the only thing she does. I think in the five episodes of season three so far she had one or two lines of dialogue where she didn't do that (might be hyperbole, but not much, really). Otherwise she dreams of something (or else has a vision in the flames), we see what's happening in the dream (complete with narration of what's happening IN THE DREAM while she's DREAMING) and after she wakes up she just repeats the narration. Mamoru does that too, but he gets a lot of screen time and character development. I'll say this for Sailor Moon Crystal, in this season at least his relationship with Usagi is decent, and it is a nice change to see both being jealous over someone other than Chibi-Usa. It's nice. But that was one two minute scene in 30 episode with a runtime of 24 minute each (more like 15-20 when you cut out stock footage and opening and closing credits). A more apt comparison would maybe be Lt. Tawny Madison from Galaxy Quest. Because she really doesn't do anything else than repeat what is going on, but... the one's satire, the other's quite clearly not. edit: I'm linking the videos for fun mostly. I know you know the reviews (and everything else) but I still like the underscore it gives my texts. Plus with nobody else clicking on it nobody is bothered by the videos bypassing the, uhm, ahem, word filter here.

  6. Speaking of Dr. Seuss, has anyone actually seen the pictures that are supposed to be offensive? I’ve tried searching the web and can’t seem to find them. Before we go goose-stepping around piles of burning books it would be kind of nice to see what has everyone in a twist to begin with. also let me say it’s kind of odd to hear conservatives bitching about banning offensive books. Especially since they have been the driving force for that kind of thing going all the way back into the 1800s. Usually for nebulous “moral” objections.

  16. I've implemented the vendor scripts but realized that we haven't discussed the spawn rates for when the vendors refill their inventories. What should the upper/lower bounds be? Should it have a risk of not spawning? Should all vendors have the same rates? Not that it matters but it translates to "Upplysningsdryck" in Swedish.

  17. I love using Jerusalem artichokes instead of potatoes sometimes. Last weekend I made a puree of some, as well as chips from what remained. Worked like a charm alongside duck breast and a red wine sauce. Doesn't look very delicate, and I should've reduced the sauce some more, but it tasted good!

  18. Well said. Children's books are a different matter than classic literature, and it is fine to have different standards for them. Huck Finn is important as it is capturing a very specific time in our American history. I'm all for protecting it. Some dated looking caricatures in a picture book don't get the same reaction from me. It can still be used as a discussion piece, it isn't getting scrubbed from the history books, but there are better options in the children's section of the library.

  25. It's already been done before. The 60s/70s/80s reprints of pulp stories for Doc Savage, The Shadow, The Avenger, etc. were all edited to remove outdated terminology; typically reference to non-white races that were considered offensive being changed to neutral racial descriptors. EDIT: Oh, and several NANCY DREW novels were completely re-written (sometimes keeping only the name) beginning in the 1960s to remove elements that would be considered offensive.

  26. Spelltongue is very good with high attack speed (Alacrity) and self buffs. Also prolongs healing over time effects (like Lay on Hands and so on). Makes a good tanking weapon if you can hit quickly.

  27. Yeah, in the original anime that was a normal friendship. And yeah, I can understand if the look of ReBoot puts you off. I'd say the show gets better in time, which it does, because every season improved the animation, but even in the end it's a far cry from being impressive, beyond being impressive for its budget and being on TV at the time. Sadly this fine wine already turned into vinegar. The show gets the biggest technical upgrade in season 3 (season 4 was way later, and remains only half-finished, sadly, so I pretend it doesn't exist). It also has the opening narrated by Megabyte, because at the end of season 2 he manages attack Mainframe and in force and tries to turn it into... Megaframe! I just love the nerd stuff in this, and the references. The opening narration alone, when Megabyte introduces himself. My format: Virus. To Corrupt & Conquer! And it gets only better from there. Also pretty sure one of the top comments on this video is right. If Sam Raimi or Bruce Campbell watched that episode when it aired, they'd probably have laughed their asses off. And now, regarding Crystal: Well... that's a tough one. It doesn't make me "crazy", although I have to admit looking at that picture of Makoto with her spliced open mouth - really, that's what I see when I look at this, it is UNNERVING - doesn't help my mental state when watching this. I honestly do wish that I would have never known about it. I could still live in my happy filter bubble where the 90ies anime was great to watch and the mysterious manga in the background was something better that I heard of but never checked out because I can't read Japanese. However, @KaineParker is right of course. Given the circumstances of the manga, the time when it was released, the stress it was put out under and the pacing issues it can be more readily forgiven for its problems than Sailor Moon Crystal. The show is a great showcase of what happens when you directly adapt source material without giving it any thought, like Tuxedo Kamen being a complete creep or the girls having internal monologues stating what is happening on the screen.

  28. I dont think there are any specific items that synergize with casting and even less weapons for cold damage focus. So I suppose anything can work. You can keep wodevys for nature mark on crit. Nightshoud could have been interesting but it isn't avaliable for wizards. Rimecutter is good as it comes with bonus speed and default freezing lash. But it is random stronghold item

  29. Guys...I'm starting to think that all Sailor Moon Crystal and no Sailor Moon non-Crystal makes Majestic a very crazy boy. While I have some appreciation for early 3D stuff...I don't think I could endure that ReBoot show from the video you sent of it. Maybe it's something you had to have seen when it came out, .

  31. >Luna what >James Bond, Star Trek Man, you need to stop watching stuff that you know you'll hate - in 99% of cases, if I get a feeling that I won't like something, I don't watch or play it. The other 1% is when somebody else literally holds a gun to my head with the safety off and their finger on the trigger a la @KaineParker and Thus Spoke Henry Kissinger. No, I'm never going to be able to remember its name. That or someone else is watching it and I guess I have I'm around and don't feel like doing anything else...which, now that I think about it, is actually how I've seen a couple of 60s/70s James Bond films AND a few of original/TNG Star Trek films. If that's what you're doing, that's understandable, but it mostly sounds like you enjoy torturing yourself

  32. Alright, I'll get to it! I'll add The Dark Cupboard as another vendor on top of the ones you listed (and I'm excluding the Spindle Man). Btw if anyone is able to provide translations for "Potion of Enlightenment" in any of Deadfire's supported languages, just tell me and I'll add that localization!

  35. Watch out when using Blood Sacrifice with 10 wounds. Not only will it scale with the +10 MIG (+30% dmg) but also the +5% received dmg per wound (+50%). Combined with high PL you might one-shoot yourself. Better spend some wounds before (like hitting Thunderous Blows several times or so to get rid of them quickly). You will get wound back from Blood Sacrifice anyway. By the way: seld damage doesn't cancel Dance of Death/Enduring Dance. Deleterious Alacrity can be a nice wound generator: not too high self dmg but steady. But also here: the more wounds you have the more ouch and the fast new wound will rush in. Make good use of Concelhaut's Corrososive Siphon and regeneration gear. And later you can use Healing Hands (those gloves with Minor Lay on Hands, 1/encounter) + Wall of Draining, too (or any healing over time from your party). By the way: Concelhaut's Draining Touch* + Kapana Taga + modal in offhand + Miasma of Dul-Mindedness + Ryngrim's Repulsive Visage + Swift Flurry/Hearbead Drumming is devastating and a nice alternative to the usual Spirit Lance setup. You get +2 engagement from Kapana Taga and enemies who disengage because of Terrified will eat nasty Disengagement Attacks. Also Miasma + club modal lowers enemies' Will by -65 points which makes crits from Draining Touch (targets Will instead of Deflection) very likely which leads to procs of Swift Flurry. Draining TOuch also drains health for you and weakens the enemy. Combine with Stunning Surge and you can also lower fortitude by -20 solid points "on the fly". )* you have to make sure that you DON'T learn Concelhaut's Draining Touch but instead use a Grimoire with the spell in it. Cast it and immediately switch the grimoire to one which oesn't have the spell in it: *tadaa* Draining Touch will not disappear after hits but stway with you until the end of the encounter.

  36. Well, hardly to say it‘s better than 3, but I like 4 more than 3, it's more interesting for me, even with its imbalance and terrible AI. And I found the class development mechanic most fun of me. It's always token a place in my every PC.
