  1. please, explain further what is Gromnir's position on antifa and blm. doesn't much sound like our position, but you have such a curiously perverse perspective that we cannot help but wonder what else you will have your imaginary Gromnir proclaim in our absence. am also admitted curious 'bout how vol has come up with comparative murder rates for blm, antifa and the kkk-- am betting he ain't using fbi or any other reputable source. there isn't any kinda blm or antifa leadership of which to speak, so am not sure how they manage to brag. some rando person vol believes is speaking for blm or antifa said something 'bout rape? am gonna need context. will no doubt be disappointed by vol response, but we nevertheless wait for the proofs o' antifa and blm, as organizations, bragging 'bout their use o' rape to advance their goals. vol posts is a bit like watching the lighthouse save that vol is playing all roles and everything is 'bout racism and nazis. fascinating, if a bit disturbing. HA! Good Fun!

  2. Nothing weird about how Lukashenko has been acting. He's always tried to leverage Russia by threatening to go full west, and leverage the west by threatening to go full Russia. Arresting 30 Wagner mercs to show he's still 'independent' is pure stunt. The threat- to the west- is that if the pressure gets too much he signs and enacts the Union act with Russia instead of stalling it again. As for VP picks, could there possibly be a less appealing enthusiasm hole than a Biden/ Harris ticket? Well, apart from Pence/ Trump or Hillary/ Kane of course.

  3. I still think Trump has a pretty good chance as long as he can keep turnout low. Since that's been the Republican goal for a while now and they've had pretty good success with it I wouldn't count him out. I mean, just look at how many otherwise intelligent people we have here that believe in rampant voter fraud.

  4. I think that's an example of the "you can kill everyone" ethos done not as well. In New Vegas, it meant you burnt a lot of bridges but still had a viable path to finish the game. In Deadfire, it frequently amounts to "oh I still get a key off their body and/or their spirit talks to me and the quest goes on largely as normal." I still appreciate the freedom of the latter, but it's nothing like the former where there were real consequences to your actions but you could still beat the game. On the contrary, I think this is the place where crpgs have historically excelled. It's less about playing a psychopath, it's more about a game that is committed to the player as a Role Player that it will go to extreme lengths to accommodate the player's actions. The ultimate test of that is "can a player kill X NPC and still finish the game in some way?" I still remember the first time I accidentally killed a kid in Fallout 2 (burst weapons and such). In a modern game--ignoring the ethics of depicting violence on children (and, in some countries, legality)--what would likely have happened instead is that the kid is immortal or "essential" so will just stand up again after a few seconds, or everyone within like a 500 mile radius becomes irrevocably mad at you and fail a bunch of quests and the game basically breaks and you have to reload. In Fallout 2, while the town got pissed at me, I was still able to flee (no "you cannot leave/fast travel during combat" message), and the effects were: instant vilification reputation with the town massive negative hit to karma you get a special "perk" called "child killer" for the rest of the game you are hunted by serious bounty hunters who are out to avenge the town/kid As someone who had mostly played highly linear JRPGs up until that point, the mere fact that I could do that, and the game could still continue on, with plenty of in-game consequences was an astounding level of reactivity. It is unfortunately probably the high water mark of reactivity that I've seen in a game ever since. I'm not saying that I want a game where you can kill a kid (i think it's a little perturbing how some grognards fixate on literally this as a feature in particular), but I do appreciate an RPG that goes out of its way to try to accommodate player mayhem, especially if it's unintentional. For all the flak Bethesda gets these days, I remember watching my wife play FO4. The first time she phased into the institute and saw "Sean" and Father, she half-seriously yelled IRL "give me back my son!" and immediately whacked Father to death without letting Father talk (and without knowing that Father is in fact, your real son). I couldn't help but laugh out loud at that, but more impressive was FO4 adapted to that as a real option, and I got to watch my wife fleeing a very angry Institute and continuing on with the Railroad.

  5. am not believing trump will win. however, this speech ain't designed to win him the election. no single act is likely to produce a trump victory. a campaign speech at gettysburg, on hallowed ground where fifty thousand american soldiers died, is an affront to the sacrifices o' men far better than trump. southerners may lament the result o' gettysburg but they know well the valor and courage o' too many who died so far away from home. gettysburg were an american tragedy even if it were a victory for the union and while southerners should question the raison d'être o' the confederacy, they don't need feel shame for what happened on the battlefield tween july 1 and 3 in 1863. hallowed ground. miller and bannon know that w/o some kinda monumental scandal or hail mary medical advance, trump victory looks unlikely. doesn't mean they is conceding defeat. no matter how much more frustration and anger it creates, trump and his enablers will continue to work to divide americans. trump is using gettysburg as if it were the compiègne wagon. shouldn't let him get away with such even if we don't see as making a major difference in november. somebody not paying attention. have always been cynical 'bout human nature. is gd who blames government and we keep telling him that The People is the government. First Amendment we champion so frequent is a bar on the tyranny o' the masses. we complain 'bout US polarization in recent years and blame trump as a symptom as opposed to the cause. when gd says we should count on individuals to do the right thing as 'posed to passing laws which mandate sober driving or seat belts or masks, is Gromnir who sneers at the naivety o' trusting our fellow citizens to do the right thing 'cause is the right thing to do. insofar as cynicism, am looking at gd in our rearview mirror... appears extreme far away even if gd cynicism is curious misplaced and selective. such is our disagreement. HA! Good Fun!

  6. But at least they ain't dying from corona! Around here it's going to be getting worse, with numbers of cases possibly comparable to the 1st "wave" albeit not likely as many deaths. I doubt we'll get another lockdown no matter what because the risk of social instability is just too big, and we're guaranteed to see some sort of societal collapse* if the economic crisis gets any worse. So predictably numbers will be massaged and idiocies like wearing a mask in the shower or whatever will be pushed. *Somewhat relevant: https://www.nature.com/articles/s41598-020-63657-6 What was that about "listening to scientists", again?

  8. I'd like to see taming in partial form personally, but only have it applicable to pet type creatures. Having a pet Aphid/Weevil chilling at home, in some sort of dog house would be really cool. It could be attached to whatever structure needs to be built to house it and unable to roam too far away from it so that it stays within your base. I don't like the idea of combat tames as, like you said, it's easy to lose scale of threat and exploration if you have a mountable spider or something.

  9. Thank you. First, thanks for reminding me of the end of Disco Elysium. The meeting with the other cops is more interesting than the usual ending slides. There are 3 people who evaluate your actions so you get different opinions on your actions and it is interactive, so you can tell why you did it or what you want to do next. You said that your actions in DE or TW are limited, but in Mass Effect (and most other Bioware games, I guess) you cannot steal or kill NPC too. I never felt that was a big downside, at least it did not stop me from enjoying those games. On the other hand I cannot understand the motto: "You can kill everyone and still finish the game." It makes no sense that everyone drops a letter with the information you need or you can talk with their ghost. If you mess up you deserve to fail. Josh talked about Fallout NV. He told the designers "You should expect that the player kills this char as soon as he can and this must not break the game." Well, I finished NV once. I only killed hostile creatures, except when a quest wants me to kill someone and I believed it would be OK for my char to do so. I never had the desire to kill villagers or quest givers. If you have the main quest to save the president and you kill the president then you fail the game, thats it. The only problem is how to tell this the player. One way is not to tell it ( In realms of Arcadia 1 you have to find pieces of a map. Selecting the wrong answers sometimes prevents you from getting them. If you miss too many of them you cannot finish the game and you will travel the world map forever in search for them. This game is almost impossible to finish without guide). Onother way would be instant game over. The middle ground would be a message "You did something that prevents you from finishing the main story." ( In Morrowind there is a dungeon with an enemy and if you kill it you get this message. You even get it after finishing the main story and no quest ever send you to this dungeon. I have no idea what this means.) So I would say there should be 2 options: - What you can do is limited. You cannot do things that ruin the main story ( like killing NPC or getting attacked for stealing stuff). If you do something that would ruin the main story its game over. ( Nier Automata has many "fake endings" like getting killed in the intro, killing a major NPC, abandoning your mission or removing your OS) - You can do whatever you want, but if you mess up too much you will fail. What exactly "mess up too much" means is dependent on the situation. Is it fair that after playing a game for 50h you put yourself in a position where you cannot finish the game and loading the last save cannot fix it? NO, but it is realistic. The world is not fair. Play by the rules or suffer the consequences. In a "normal" RPG the game should explain those rules, so that players do not put themselves accidentally in a bad position. That is unless the game itself is about learning through trial and error or the game is about being an insane mass murderer.

  11. Summon spells are good. Maura's Writhing Tentacles work wonders for crowd control. The description is misleading, they don't hit friendlies. They have a lot of HP so they rarely die before the summon expires, and they attract a lot of aggro. Every attack is 3 aoe hits and they can immobilize multiple enemies. The Substantial Phantom dishes out a lot of damage and casts Arduous Delay of Motion. Its been said, but big, slow bruisers and pasty, noodle-armed casters are practically begging for a Slicken to ruin their day.

About the city of Moscow "This city is a prostitute She has red spots on her forehead Her teeth are made of gold She's fat and yet so lovely Her mouth falls to my valley when I pay her for it She takes off her clothes but only for money The city that keeps me in suspense" "She is old and nevertheless beautiful I can't resist her I can't resist She powders her old skin and has gotten her breasts rebuilt rebuilt She makes me horny I suffer torment She dances for me I have to pay I have to pay She sleeps with me but only for money It's still the most beautiful city in the world" "I see something, that you don't see (When you close your eyes) When you sleep deeply in the night I see something, that you don't see (When you kneel before me) When you lie before me I see something, that you don't see (When you touch me with your mouth) When you talk to me I see something, that you'll never see One, two, three!"

They are terrrorist groups that are responsible for more murders than the KKK since their creation. Espicially funny since Antifa (espciially) and BLM brag about using violence, assault, and rape to push their goals. So, SHOCKER, when they actually do. L0L

  24. Xbox .0.1.1.2193 When updating a not-full stack of items with a full stack of items moved from within storage, the numbers shown after update are not correct. Stack size is correct, but the numbers shown are not. Closing chest or touching incorrectly labeled stack will update the numbers to be correct. Steps > inside chest have a stack of 11 arrows and a stack of 20 arrows (or whatever item). Pick up the 20 stack and drop it onto the 11 stack. Note that the both stacks now show 11. Note: This is not happen when moving a stack from backpack into storage. Note2: this affects both chest and storage container. When an item is stolen by gnat or ant and said item is tried to put back into storage, press X on that stack of items will not work. You must pick up the stack and drop it into storage. Steps > hold nectar in hand or have in chest. Wait for gnat or ant to steal. Kill said offending critter. Pick up stolen nectar. Go to storage chest and open. Press X on nectar in backpack to deposit into chest and note that it does not work. You must pick up the item and move the stack manually. Getting into mint box is difficult enough to make someone think they cannot do so. It takes a lot of “just right” directions to squeeze into it. It shouldn’t be that difficult if players are expected to be able to do so (for mint mining).

  25. The truth is that the English have been, historically, very focused, very effective genocidal imperialistic maniacs. They were also particularly good at the whole dividing and conquering thing. So the whole "we're posh, prudish, sensitive buggers who stammer a lot and star in romantic comedies" is just a big sham. I imagine 18th and 19th century English people driving colonization were probably more like Jeremy Irons playing a villain than like Hugh Grant playing some kind of knob.

  26. Wow, my brain hurts from reading that thread on the GOG forums. Seems like there are two issues: First that this is a giveaway where Linux users miss out on wallpaper artwork (!) due to not having the Galaxy client even as an option. I'm sure Keyrock and the other guy on the planet who is exclusively playing on Linux will be fine with that. And if not, they can voice their protest by not buying from GOG. I'm suspecting building and maintaining a Linux version of Galaxy might cost more than the expected increase in sales or usage will rake in. The other one is sharing your stats on social media. Which I get, and is the reason why I am not participating. If nobody participates then promotions like those will go away on their own. I'm sure a hell not sharing my GOG stats with the world, then everyone would see the thousands of hours I've put into Master of Orion 3. Talk about embarrassing. There's a third ridiculous complaint that I see all the time when it comes to development. People who say that they should not spend their time making silly promotions but rather finish Cyberpunk. Yeah, sure. Because CDPR's game developers double as marketing team, right? Sigh. edit: And before someone from PETL (People for the Ethical Treatment of Linux :p) comes around and berate me for passive-agressive penguin hate - I've been an avid Linux user for longer than most. It's kind of a requirement in my line of work, although it's been a while now, I just never bothered playing games on it. Except Tux Racer.

  27. It would be handy to be able to SORT your inventory, both in chests and on player. It would be even better if you could hold a button to take or deposit a full stack of items. I spend most of my day multi-clicking inventory to move it back and forth between player and chests.

  31. Love the game so far keep up the awesome work here are some ideas to make it even better well for me anyway. Add a dyeing option- for armor/weapons and structures maybe useing flowers and mixing Add metals- like copper/iron and zinc maybe you find some quarters or something in anthills to hammer Add Forge- for refining metals for armor/tools/structures and copper for wiring up the batter for power Add quick waypoints More Traps- like sap trap to stop bug from moving for a time Add boat building Add power to bases- maybe a toy you can take batters from. carry it like you do grass but only one at a time cuz the weight Add bugs- (Butterflies/Moths) for gliders (lighting bugs) for helmet light (Pill bugs) for armor (Grasshoppers) for jump shoes Auto equip armor on death loot pickup Game mode option- to have it rain where you take damage if you get hit by water meters if not under shelter Water purifier or way to purify More food like soaps Story- expand your adventure by going in the house. it would be awesome to see it from a tiny perspective and the crazy things you could find and collect with new threats. PS: Sorry if some of these ideas are already in the making and for any bad spelling.

  32. I’ve been playing grounded for 2 days straight now and I’ve had a small issue regarding the fact that I can only carry 5 objects on my shoulder. The carry mechanic is perfectly designed and I think that 5 is a good amount. However, when your playing solo you can’t really get a good “chain” in the gathering of grass, stems and logs. An addition of a cart that would allow you to place up to around 15-20 of these items would be perfect as that I will no longer have to rely on tossing my grass at 100mph to get it to where it needs to go. And a constant back and forth cycle won’t be required as often.

  33. I could get behind a movable cart similar to The Forest had for logs or stones. We already have pretty well defined "paths" that stretch around and keep the resource balance by requiring decent space for moving a bulky "cart" full of materials. Eventually you could even have an insect that acts similar to a horse or cow that can have a cart attached to it for even more material logistics.

  34. Loving the game. Just some things that I thought could be improved. - Armour/Weapon/Tools/Resources shouldn't occupie space in our bag if it's equipped. - Could be a option to auto-organize bag/chest (Like "My Time at Portia") - If there is option to "Take all" from the chest, should be one "Leave all" - Build new bags with more space - Need a "Stats" screen to see how our character is doing (If armour give some benefits, etc) - An XP evolution with perks could be cool - Add Grappling hook and rope - A mode without hungry and thirsty features would be awsome! \o/

  36. Hi devs / community managers / everyone ! I had a blast with the demo. Can't wait to test the early access and give feedback to contribute to the game's improvment. The best direction for this game IMO is what inspire its core : 80/90's kids movies. Its almost perfect, but two things could improve it more in that direction : - Ziplines for base building and/or exploration (and its unreasonable, but being able to contruct some kind of cable car would be 1996 11yo me heaven). - Floor sliding, in a very satisfying way like apex legend did (gaining initial sliding speed with run/jump/glide velocity, then gaining/loosing sliding speed depending on direction/terrain angle/terrain material). It could be maped to the gliding key/button without changing anything at all, since gliding only triggers at a minimum height/jump duration ; the two wouldn't interfere (whereas slinding would interfere with croutching to hide if binded on the same button). - sliding ramps ! straight ones, curved ones, soft or hard angles... Along with - buildable ladders, all this would contribute to the feeling of being in a funhouse, wich is the best part of movies like Honey I shrunked the kids or Hook in the eye of a kid. Imagine your players then sharing gameplay video of themselves going up the roof in their cable car (well ok that can be skiped), basejumping in the void but then hooking to an underneath zipline that run toward the oak tree in the center of the map, jumping off the zipline in its middle to glide at medium speed thanks to an advanded tier glider, then when reaching the ground transitionning to sliding down an ant hill slope while shooting arrows at surrounding mobs. Add customisable waypoints, and you'll have a competitive parkour map-sharing community in top of the traditionnal survival lovers one. If you're afraid of all that breaking the pace of the game in terms of combat/exploration, you can lock all this behind advanced crafting (like a sledge requiered for sliding exaclty like the gliders, coming in different materials so with varying stats (top speed...)). On another note, I don't think the suggestion about finishing moves is that good, because in its curent state Grounded can be enjoyed by both adults and kids. It don't needs more gore to be a sometime very frightening game, yet suitable for nearly everyone. because only insects are harmed. I know its a thin line since there's already gory elements, like the ant totems, and the game is also about killing bugs in a yellow/brown blood explosion to chop their bodies to build fancy house ornaments for your own pleasure, but somehow it feels acceptable with its cartoon style ; maybe reserving spectacular finishing moves for very aggresive and monstruous mobs like thoses damn spiders could be a good compromise. I don't have kids, but If I had dawn I would like to be able to play this game with them. Finaly, I sooooo want to be able to pet weevils. And to tame them. And to use ladybugs to haul a sleigh to carry many planks and things in one go, with me seated on the ladybug leading it with an aphid on a fishing rod. Obviously the other strong appeal of Grounded is its insects, so I'd like to see more interraction between bugs, with the players, and so more animations of the most cute ones. The scarier ones don't need more animations IMO, their apparent lack of emotion and striclty aggresive behavior plays a great role in the fear they provoke. Many Thx for reading the wall of text. that's how much I like the game in its current state. TL;DR : Ziplines, sliding mechanics and associated basebuilding thingies, more bugs interractions/animations.

  38. How about climbing tools such as spiked gloves, boots and knee pads crafted from acorn shells &/or beetle carapace. Some type of line or thread attached to a needle or spike. Either swung and thrown by the player and also fired from a bow. The ability to climb the thread/line both upwards & abseiling downwards. Climbing could drain stamina so as to limit how much the player might exploit the environment. Being able to abseil down and dangle in an open space and potentially begin to shift your weight forwards and back in order to swing.
