Not precisely right now but a friend bought me Dark Souls: Remastered a while back and I'm planning on cracking it open later tonight. My circle convinced me to stream it on Twitch and I'm planning on going in blind.2 points

interesting civic duty venture, on-call all month for federal jury service, downtown, 36 miles away, literally across the street from the Hall of Justice, which I can't help but imagine Superman or Martian Manhunter ground-pounding a superhero-landing right on the sidewalk there on Broadway couple dozen prospective jurors in a federal courtroom, plus FBI, prosecutors, defense attorneys, a judge more affable than most, and a microphone ... I am not a public speaker but managed to enunciate relevant details without stumbling, as is our wont was not selected, ultimately, but it was an exceptional and affirming experience (still on-call 'til the 25th) ... in spite of everything, I still have faith in our system and rule of law2 points

I'm a big fan of carne asada but I just do pico de gallo, cheese, and sour cream for both burritos and tacos. I then dab a little hot salsa on each bite, usually tomatillo but not always. I had the breakfast of champions this morning, 4 pills.2 points

Source In Māori mythology, Tāwhirimātea (or Tāwhiri) is the god of weather, including thunder and lightning, wind, clouds and storms. He is a son of Papatūānuku (earth mother) and Ranginui (sky father). In his anger at his brothers for separating their parents, Tāwhirimātea destroyed the forests of Tāne (god of forests), drove Tangaroa (god of the sea) and his progeny into the sea, pursued Rongo and Haumia-tiketike till they had to take refuge in the bosom of their mother Papa, and only found in Tūmatauenga a worthy opponent and eternal enemy. - Wikipedia =================================== Tāwhirimātea, the God of Storms =================================== Difficulty: PotD v2.0.0.0030 -------------------------------------------------------------- Class: Theurge (Watershaper + Stormspeaker) -------------------------------------------------------------- Race: Marine Godlike -------------------------------------------------------------- Background: Deadfire Archipelago (Artist) -------------------------------------------------------------- Stats (char creation, no Berath's Blessings): MIG: 12 CON: 13 DEX: 11 PER: 14 INT: 13 RES: 15 -------------------------------------------------------------- Important Skills: none -------------------------------------------------------------- Abilities (a=auto, r=recommended, !=important) PL1 Druid Ondra's Whip (a) Tanglefoot (a) Nature's Mark Chanter The Skies Opened And Vengeance Rained Down (a) Blessed was Wengridh, Quickest of His Tribe (a) Not Felled by the Axe, Nor Broken by the Storm (a) The Thunder Rolled Like Waves on Black Seas PL2 Druid Blizzard (a) The Moon's Light (!) As a Watershaper, Tekēhu gains access to Foe-only AoE Frost spells; as a Stormspeaker, he gets automatically-learned Invocations unique to his subclass, of which two are powerful Shock-based spells. Taking a fair bit of inspiration from my Fate Testarossa Ascetic build, I took the staple of that build - Lord Darryn's Voulge, Deltro's Cage and Mantle of the Seven Bolts - and complemented it with the Watershaper's Focus to capitalize fully on the synergies he enjoys as a Theurge like no other in the Deadfire. The end result: Tekēhu, with the Tāwhirimātea build, is capable of handling the entire party's spellcasting requirements single-handedly. Offensive Spellcasting Tāwhirimātea then sent forth a variety of clouds, including Aonui (dense clouds), Aopōuri (dark clouds), Aowhētuma (fiery clouds), Aowhēkere (clouds which precede hurricanes), Aokanapanapa (clouds reflecting glowing red light), Aopakakina (clouds wildly drifting from all quarters and wildly bursting), Aopakarea (clouds of thunderstorms), and Aotakawe (clouds hurriedly flying). - Te Ara: The Encyclopedia of New Zealand Much like the Fate Testarossa, Tekehu can make use of the +5 Shock PL from Lord Darryn's Voulge and Deltro's Cage to power his Shock spells like Returning Storm and Relentless Storm, along with the Ball Lightning spell he gets from the fully-upgraded Voulge. That said, since he isn't really able to reach the 35 Might cap, Tekehu can't quite put out the same damage numbers that Fate is capable of. Still useful to be sure, but the gap can be noticeable. That said, Tekehu has a couple of advantages over the Fate build; Firstly, the true extent of the Shock synergy between Tekehu's two subclasses comes in the unique Invocations Great Amira Let Her Wrath be Shown and Not One Foe Was Spared Amira's Wrath; these behave like the Wizard spells Crackling Bolt and Chain Lightning respectively. Not only do both Invocations also benefit from the Shock PL bonus, and not only are both ideal choices for opening fights - especially in the latter case - as Invocations, they can be casted again late in the fight, once Tekehu has built up enough Phrases. So while Tekehu can't bring down the thunder to quite the same extent that Fate can, he makes up for it by being able to do so practically indefinitely. Secondly, should Tekehu face something that's immune to Shock, he still has Freeze synergy to fall back on; As a Watershaper, Tekehu automatically learns Foe-only AoE Frost spells such as Chill Fog, Blizzard and Blast of Frost. He can even complement that with the Invocation So Singt Biting Winds o'Eld Nary, which behaves much like a Frost version of Chain Lightning. And this is where the Watershaper's Focus comes in; the Ondra's Wrath enchantment makes it offer +2 PL to all Frost spells, including his Chanter Invocations, for which the aforementioned Eld Nary isn't the only Frost Invocation that Tekehu has by far. But we'll get into that later. To be sure, the +2 Frost PL offered by Watershaper's Focus isn't quite as much as the +5 Shock PL possible with the Voulge + Cage combo. But it's still better than anything else currently available in the game, even with the new items introduced by the Beast of Winter DLC. Healing Sometimes Tāwhirimātea is content to listen to advice from his parents and forgive his siblings. On those days the weather is fine, clear and calm. - New Zealand Ministry of Education Ondra's Wrath on the Watershaper's Focus also offers +2 Water PL, which is most useful on the Water-keyworded healing spells The Moon's Light and Moonwell. Thus, Tekehu can also double as the party's primary healer, even while he's dishing out the arcane hurt at the same time. To bolster his healing credentials, Tekehu can take the Ancient Memory Chant for additional passive healing, and become an even more powerful healer in the late game with Mercy and Kindness Followed Where'er She Walked. He also make use of Rejoice, my Comrades! Two Fingers of Daylight!, using Phrases for a spot of much-needed burst healing. With the ...And Evil Turned Away From The Sun upgrade, he can even deal Burn damage to Vessels much like Priests do with Holy Radiance. To top it off, Tekehu can even take a rezz option with Rise Again, Rise Again, Scions of Adon!, letting him get fallen party members back on their feet. Nuking To take revenge on his brothers, Tāwhirimātea first attacked Tāne Mahuta – the god of the forest, who had separated Rangi and Papa. The mighty trees of Tāne’s domain were snapped in the middle and fell to the ground. Then Tāwhirimātea attacked Tangaroa, the god of the sea, causing the waves to grow as tall as mountains. After this he turned on Rongomātāne, whose domain was cultivated food and the kūmara (sweet potato), and Haumia-tikitiki, god of fern root and uncultivated food. To escape, they hid within their mother Papatūānuku - Te Ara: The Encyclopedia of New Zealand Last but not least, Tekehu can indeed pull out all the stops and nuke his enemies with Storm of Seven Bolts - although, once again, it's not quite to the same level as Fate can manage. To be fair, it can still add up to a fair bit of damage, but since he cannot summon the same level of raw power that Fate can, there can be occasions where the Shock nuke fizzles out as a bit of a squib; That said, this is where Tekehu's edge in flexibility pays off once again; he has an alternative Frost-based nuke, in the form of Seven Nights She Waited While the White Winds Wept; With the Watershaper's Focus backing him up, Tekehu can land some huge Frost damage numbers on enemies who would otherwise shrug off his Shock attacks. Even in his most powerful attacks, Tekehu can make up in flexibility wherever he might lack in raw power, with all of the tools at his disposal. Final Thoughts Pros: Takes advantage of +5 Shock PL with both Storm spells, Storm of Seven Bolts, Ball Lightning, and Stormspeaker-exclusive Shock Invocations Takes advantage of +2 Frost PL with Watershaper-exclusive Foe-only AoE Frost spells and Frost Invocations Takes advantage of +2 Water PL with The Moon's Light and Moonwell, and complements it with Chanter's healing Phrases and Invocations A well-rounded spellcaster, able to dole out damage to enemies and heal allies. As the only playable Watershaper, and the only playable Stormspeaker in the entire game, the edge that Tekehu enjoys with the Tāwhirimātea build cannot be matched by any Companions, hirelings, or even the Watcher him/herself. Cons: With only 12 Might, Tekehu can't quite put as much raw power to either blasting or healing as a Might-maxed Watcher or hireling can. Because it uses most of the same equipment, Tāwhirimātea cannot be used in the same party as a Fate Testarossa, for better or worse. High Recovery time due to the use of heavy armor, with no real means of mitigating the effect. For some reason, Tekehu has a dad bod when in heavy armor. I guess that's what comes of easy living as a Mataru of the Kahanga.1 point

The spear that was mentioned is named "Stalker's Patience". So I highly recommend to play a Stalker. Also because it's easy to flank an enemy if you have an Animal Comparion.1 point

It got changed. In the early version of the DLC you could pick the chests and get all the items (like you still can) and then sink the ship and get the same items again. So after looting and sinking you'd have two Slippers, two Talons etc. Nowadays I'm not sure what you get when you sink it. I didn't try for a long time. With "good" characters I usually don't sink neutral ships like merchants and the Deck.1 point

Maybe I'm misunderstanding you, but Brilliant restores exactly one spell each tick to a (single-class) caster, of a random spell level. So if all nine of your spell tiers are depleted, it will still only restore one spell, not nine of them. The problem lies in that this can be controlled by only casting a single spell, so if you only cast Salvation of Time (and Barring Death's Door, which is conveniently in the same tier) or Missile Salvo, you always get that spell slot back. I think it's actually a pretty cool mechanic that you can control what Brilliant restores if you plan ahead a bit, but it's definitely abusable with some abilities. I still think that Barring Death's Door is at least as problematic; it's an effect that makes you immune to death, which has its duration affected by Intelligence and which can be extended by more effects than just Salvation of Time (notably Wall of Draining). I think at the very least effects that can destroy targets with less than 25% health should counter it, e.g. Death Ring, though I'm not certain the AI would take advantage of them in its current state. Abilities that break the game's fundamental conceit, health loss results in death, should be incredibly limited or have more counters than just Arcane Dampener/Arcane Cleanse. Just imagine the frustration if an enemy encounter in the game used these shenanigans on the player; suddenly it's impossible to win unless you interrupt the Cipher's first Brilliant cast, stunlock the Priest (quickly) or have a Wizard to dampen or repeatedly cleanse the buffs. Back to the topic at hand, I'm biased but I think halving the tick rate of Brilliant merely ameliorates the issue rather than solving it, and hurts people that don't abuse it in the process. Now, instead of just needing one Priest to secure immortality, you need two! To be fair they'd both need Brilliant, but if you give the Cipher immortality while acquiring it (or the Priest with Shroud of the Phantasm), everything works out. It certainly helps make it more difficult, though. Another solution that would work for both Brilliant and Barring Death's Door is to give them a cap on their maximum length. I think this can be done using status effect triggers, e.g. "TriggerOnEvent": "OnInterval", "MaxTriggerCount": "5", "RemoveEffectAtMax": "true". Would probably have to give Barring Death's Door a child status effect that ticks for this to work though, or maybe just use the dreaded "ApplyOverTime" ApplicationType. I would also like to hear more opinions on this. Thankfully, we can each opt-out of certain modifications we particularly don't like, but there is some value in consensus.1 point

A blonde girl called her boyfriend "I'm working on a really hard jigsaw puzzle. I can't figure it out. Can you come help me?" The boyfriend replied "OK. What is the picture on the box?" The blonde replied "It's supposed to be a tiger." When the boyfriend arrived he looked at the pieces scattered all over the table. Then he turned to the girl and said "Tell you what sweetie. Why don't you go watch TV let me put all these frosted flakes back in the box"1 point

In 1981 a book called Mazes and Monsters came out. It was fiction inspired by true (although heavily sensationalized) events where a group of D&D players in the 70's thought the game was real and got themselves killed in a cave. And not by monsters in case you were wondering. A movie was made from the book and a brand new moral outrage and calls for banning something was spawned. In '84 a book called "The dungeon master: the disappearance of James Dallas Egbert III" came out. Egbert had a history of mental illness that was blamed on D&D. Then in 1982 this came out: This caused a snit when a group of pastors said Mattel was introducing devil worship to middle school kids which caused this to get pulled. I had one BTW. I remember it being pretty fun considering the time. Blaming harmless things that some people have decided they don't like for other unrelated things is hardly new. Nihil novi sub sole.1 point

Like he said. Since Brilliant is applied per class and multiclass characters have two classes they'd each gain their resources respectively. I mean I guess... That solution is also fine with me. The baf thing about (prolonged) Brilliant atm is not replenishing Discipline, Zeal or Guile - but endless spells. Some spells are a LOT more powerful than other abilities - but more scarce (uses) which balances spells vs. other abilities. Brilliant removes this balance and even turns it upside down because you gain 1 spell per tier per tick while the other classes gain some meager points for their pool. Nomatter how many levels you've got: a Fighter always profits the same from Brilliant while a caster gains more and more spells the more unlocked spell tiers he has. The whole reason why I think Brilliant is broken is because of this single mechanic. If it would work like Blood Sacrifice (restoring one single random spell use per tick) it wouldn't be so broken and comparable to the other classes' gains. Or make the ticks for casters a lot slower like @Phenomenum said. Also helps - and if that's easy to do then be it. The gap should be longer than 10 secs so that you can't prolong Brilliant endlessly with SoT. Wall of Draining also has to be considered. That'swhy I liked @ocelotter's idea better: if you get a higher (but one-time) replenishment at the start and a higher PL bonus (+3 instead of +1) then SoT and Wall of Draining etc. are no problem anymore. Still a very useful inspiration and powerful (+3 PL is big), but not as abusable when getting endless duration.1 point

More AI Self: Inspiration ( Dex ) ( Not ) : Swift Strikes ( 20 delay ) works fine for me and only ever casts on drop off from testing so far not sure if you have the needed conditionals without more AI as I've always used it even on mates machine.1 point

"No actual person at Twitter suspended Moscow Mitch's account. It was a pre-defined algorithm that automated the process of suspending account. Twitter set up some conditions and rules that identify abusive behaviors online, and put those conditions and rules into an algorithm and automated process. Some of those conditions and rules could be making bigoted, racist or sexist comments. If a user met those conditions and committed those pre-defined abusive behaviors - and it did not matter if he was "left" or "right", then the algorithm would automatically suspend his account. That was what happened to Moscow Mitch. The only reason why there seems to be a "bias towards conservative" is because it has been conservatives who are frequently meeting those conditions, breaking those rules, and committed those abusive behaviors. If you do not want Twitter being "biased" against you, then stop being an arse on Twitter." You believe that poppy****? HAHAHAHAHAHAHA.1 point

I run a similar setup to masterty with cheaper, general purpose abilities and buffs set to AI. Generally I don't like relying on AI since I abuse use ambush tactics whenever possible and auto sequences often get ropey while a character is Stealthed: I've had several Monks drain their Mortifications fast, spamming Swift Strikes regardless of conditons.1 point

I went back to the Colombia mission determined to complete the silent assassin, suit only challenge. There are 3 targets, 2 of them are relatively easy to eliminate, but the third is extremely hard without a disguise. I can't even tell you how many times I had to reload the save I made after killing the first target (you only get 1 save on master difficulty), but it was a lot. Eventually, I got the job done. Then, instead of taking an easier exit out of the place, I stole their helicopter to make my escape . That's how I roll.1 point

OW is first person only. Obsidian expressed interest in implementing such feature is subsequent releases, but as OW is a game of modest budget, they decided to stick to developing only one perspective for this one.1 point
-
Why can't people like you just admit that the main plot sucks and that Obsidian need to do better in the future? Is it really so hard? There were a million different ways they could have made the Eothas plot and factions/side content coexist with each other. If they wanted the Eothas plot to be a "framing device" and to focus the main plot around the factions (e.g. New Vegas), they could have easily done so. That's not what happened. What we got instead was railroaded garbage that took up far too many conversations and robbed the game of a more interesting ending.1 point

So let's see... the day after two prominent Democrat politicians are implicated in his case Epstein end up dead. Yeah... they killed him. No doubt about it. Now how to figure out who "they" are. Don't hold your breath. Whomever "they" are will be investigated by people who either know "them", are part of "them" of have an interest in not upsetting the apple cart. "They" don't eat their own. The people who need to be careful are all the women who were witnesses. You see they know who they were forced to have sex with. You watch, they are going to start "committing suicide" next. Like Joe Pesci said in Casino "It's always better when there are no witnesses".0 points
