  1. I on other hand welcome TB over real time. I enjoy it a lot if its there is not 10000 filler battles

  2. Solasta's version of turn-based 5th ed D&D seemed to work well, in my opinion. Hoping BG3 is similar.

  3. Saints Row devs: "We need to fill this neighbourhood with small houses. Let's make one and reuse it. We can change the crap in the yard to make them appear different." Also Saints Row devs: "We need to write hints for the collectibles. Where is that flamingo statue again?" "West Providencia next to the front door of house number 217." "Cool, I'll use exactly that as the hint!" Saints Row player: "But every house is number 217!"

  4. And very clunky TB combat at that, in my opinion (from what I've seen in streams). And there's zero chance of anything changing in this regard in BG3. TB combat just really sucks. In WotR that one battle that you are forced to fight TB is easily the most annoying and frustrating part of that game for me.

  8. New minor version available on Nexus : Deadfire Balance Polishing Mod at Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire Nexus - Mods and Community (nexusmods.com) Fix a couple of items and descriptions. Also should be fully compatible with @Noqn 's Apotheosis (not documented though since it could have been confusing there's already a bunch of stuff in the mod description)

  9. The story mode in AEW Fight Forever is so incredibly cheesy that I kind of love it. I wound up losing my women's world championship in a 4-way match. The brass in AEW clearly knew no one could beat me fair and square in a 1 on 1 match, so they put in the fix by forcing me to defend my belt in a match where I didn't have to be pinned to lose the title, which is exactly what happened. Later on John Silver tried to recruit me into the Dark Order, but it was a ruse and Mr. Brodie Lee (R.I.P.) jumped me after a match. I wound up systematically defeating all his cronies then I took the TNT championship from him at the Full Gear PPV. Now I'm building toward an Exploding Barbed Wire Deathmatch at the Revolution PPV. Hopefully the pyro works better this time around.

  10. I fully agree. It's awful. If I want to play (any derivative of) chess, I'll just do that, I don't want any of it in my cRPGs. But apparently we're both on the "losing side" when it comes to real-time vs. turn-based approach in games like these. Nothing we can do about it, I suppose.

  13. Finally I was able to find all hidden owls in Tales of Arise Got an Artifact as a reward The culprit was hidden behind one very powerful Gigant Zeugle, so I had to skip him for a veeeeery long time. Even today, the boss completely obliterated my party in the last phase of the fight, but I was able to finish his remaining 16k HPs with last Law standing, and thankfully I was able to outdodge his attacks and finally defeated him. The reward was last owl and last missing recipe in my cookbook

  14. I would say you are 100% correct, although to toot my own horn, I would be one of those people who'd definitely think that it was really quite difficult in the first place. I am reminded of something the formerly-great Portuguese football manager José Mourinho once said: "The same half-time speech given by two different managers is not the same half-time speech." He is absolutely right. Btw, although some people might think otherwise, those so-stupid-that-simply-seeing-one-of-them-may-occasionally-make-you-feel-ashamed-of-being-human headlines in really bad newspapers aren't exactly easy to write, either. You have to be pretty precise in the way you place emphasis and use the few syllables you've got space for, and there's something almost tragic about the fact that some people have really honed the skill of being hideously crass while maintaining brevity. Generally speaking, all writing that starts to veer away from plain ordinary language (whichever way you define it) starts to get pretty difficult to do well. I can write a bland generic pop lyric that scans and rhymes perfectly, and it doesn't take longer than five minutes, but coming up with anything that actually works is serious business. Deadfire did a pretty good job of capturing a certain half-lofty tone, although there were moments when it tried a bit too hard (like, in the first "pre-game" encounter, the aged dwarf could well have been just an old dwarf, and talking about rictus was a bit over the top). EDIT: @InsaneCommander: BG3 is still turn-based only, right?

  16. It's not exactly Berlin 1936, but sometimes politicians just have to make sport part of politics https://www.bbc.com/news/world-australia-66094186 Australia won the match after the English batsman left his position in the second test, apparently thinking the over had ended. British PM Rishi Sunak agreed with the England captain's claim that Australia "broke the spirit of cricket" in taking the contentious wicket. But Mr Albanese said the country stands "right behind" its team. "Same old Aussies - always winning!" the prime minister tweeted, referring to the Australian side's two consecutive Test wins so far. His phrase also appeared to be a jibe at English fans who chanted "same old Aussies always cheating" after Bairstow was dismissed. Some of Australia's best-known politicians were also at Lord's Cricket Ground in London that match, including the nation's second longest-serving Prime Minister John Howard. ... It's an amusing incident, but it also reminds me of how few scandals we've had since the old Prime Minister got the kicked out...

  18. BG3. Tested the game for the first time. Made all the decisions I'd never make since I was not playing seriously. It was game over in a few minutes. I couldn't free a prisoner and started hitting all objects in the room, apparently dropping acid on everyone.

  21. This post gets scarier as it goes on. Uncle DIO needs to nuke Netflix adaptations and chatgpt next season. I watched The Bear season 2. Which is good, it was a nice move to have the entire season being dedicated to renovating and opening a restaurant instead of doing a montage episode. The Christmas episode is probably one of the best episodes of television period, but Bob Odenkirk as an **** and Jamie Lee Curtis having a break down are very enjoyable watches.

  24. Updating the bios is simple enough, although it does pose a certain risk of bricking your laptop, so be warned. Never happened to me, but better to be aware of the risks. As for the bios itself, you can always register and try asking for someone to provide you with the unlocked version. It's a simple enough thing for people who know how to do it.

  26. Regarding grimoires, naturally for any wizard you will want to keep a nice array of several choice grimoires in your quick slots. But if you are interested in going the grimoire quick switch trick, such that you cast Concelhaut's Draining Touch from a grimoire, and then switch the grimoire before striking, you'll be able to keep CDT as your main hand weapon for the rest of the encounter, which is sweet as it's an amazing weapon. If you cast Essential/Substantial Phantom the phantom will have this weapon too. But for this to work you'll have to cast it from a grimoire, and not learn the spell when leveling up. Blood Soaked Grimoire is the first grimoire that has it that you can easily get early game.

  27. In the new SR, if an npc is driving, you climb onto the roof and fire from there. It allows for a lot better aiming. It also leads to that funny scene where the npc tells you "You drive, I'll do the shooting from the roof thing!" and you react "That is not actually a..."

  28. took a long time to learn how to aim for car properly in saint row 3 it is pretty fun despite how simple a mini game it is

  29. The best thing about the new Saints Row is that they kept Insurance Fraud and the intro conversation is hilarious. SR3 was the most fun in the series. SR2 had the best story, but driving was so unfun, I would not replay it. Also, it was still semi-serious; a serious story with grotesque silly frills. SR4 was well written, but the superpowers made the gameplay trivial. Gat Out Of Hell was the best disney princess musical, but the worst SR game ever made. I am having enough fun with the new one, but I am missing things from 3.

  30. Insurance fraud is the greatest. It's such a simple mini-game, you run into traffic and get ragdolled. And yet, it's endlessly entertaining.

  31. As @dgray62said, Gunhawk might not be the optimal choice of subclass, but I think it would still be good. The Bird is a great animal companion (better than all other ACs) and it cannot be stopped with engagement - which makes positioning and flanking with it a lot easier. So that should work well. Regarding Grimoires: since this combo needs quite some abilities from the Ranger side I tried to only learn very few spells and do the rest with Grimoires. I don't have a particular grimoire in mind right now - it's too long ago and I can't recall which spells are in which grimoire, sorry. I tend to hoard all grimoires I find though and then pick a nice collection for random encounters and some special collections for certain tough fights (for example I'd make sure to have a grimoire with Combusting Wounds against Neriscyrlas and so on). But a ranged Geomancer Maia with the Red Hand for her & her Phantom should also be powerful I think?

  32. I'm playing Saints Row 3, never played any SR games before. It's strange; the game is full of things I normally hate in games - timers, checkpoints, driving, combos - and yet here I am, 25 hours in and never noticing how it's 2 am already. Maybe because the game is so chill and unserious about anything it's hard to be annoyed at it too? I even started enjoying my abysmal driving! Also some minigames are better than others, insurance fraud is probably my favorite; also love clearing the pink fist events with a tank.

  33. The Muller-Powell Principle demo Under no circumstance is this Half-Life. Seriously, I know it's also got a hyphenated word in the title, but get those thoughts of Half-Life out of your head. Yes, I'm talking to you. What did I tell you? Just stop it! On a serious note, These devs definitely took inspiration from a couple of Valve games. In terms of look, feel, and tone, this wears its Half-Life inspiration on its sleeve. In terms of gameplay, there's definitely some Portal here. It's a first person horror puzzle game. That gun in the 3rd picture can absorb energy and then discharge that same type of energy as a beam. For example, if you find a heat source you can absorb the heat then discharge a heat beam. The gun and picking up and moving objects are used to solve puzzles to progress. There's no combat, at least in the demo, but there is a sort of spectre. He (said spectre resembles a man) appears in the intro cinematic and again at the end of the demo. If he touches you it's game over, reload checkpoint. You can't kill him, at least not with the tools available in the demo, but you can temporarily slow him down with a specific type of energy beam. So, basically, when senor spectre shows up you run and he serves as a ticking clock element forcing you to figure out how to get past obstacles quickly. Anyway, I like puzzle games, this could be a good time. I guess it will depend on how creative they get with the puzzles in the full game.

  34. You're right, even if it has no logical explanation. Because Borrowed Instinct or Judge don't stack with Hunter's Claw or Marked Prey, I assumed they all suppress each other.

  35. hi, i think my current run (as well as the last few runs where i brought along maia) would like to talk to you. edit: from my guide and my own tests: "Marked Prey (AL1): interestingly, the +10 accuracy bonus here is implemented not as an accuracy bonus on yourself against a specific enemy, but as an effect on the enemy that triggers an accuracy bonus on a specific character targeting it. Sounds real subtle, but this has the ramification that the accuracy bonus from Marked Prey stacks with other active accuracy bonuses, so long as they are not implemented in a similar "marked" mechanism (and I don't think any do; the only other marked mechanism I can think of is the paladin's Sworn Enemy and that one instead boosts damage)." edit 2 - the magistrate's cudgel also bestows a "marked" accuracy bonus, but being from an item i'm not sure whether or not it stacks with marked prey.

  36. AEW Fight Forever My Suzu Suzuki CAW that looks nothing like actual Suzu Suzuki. For reference, actual Suzu Suzuki: On the bright side, I was able to customize most of her moveset to reflect reality. Unfortunately the Tequila Shot (/points down to sig ) isn't in the game so she's back to using a german suplex as her finish. Kenny Omega actually looks pretty good, maybe a bit young, it looks like 2015 Kenny Omega. Matt Jackson, on the other hand, looks derpy as ****. Some top tier writing. I'm already the champ, where do I go from here?
