I was not kidding, merely pointing out one area where Biden's current foreing policy could potentially deviate significantly from the Tangerine's. Trump is on record saying that the war would never have happened on his watch, and I am not as convinced as you are that he would not have felt betrayed by is 'good friend' Putin going ahead with the invasion anyway. Trump is nothing if not petty and throws friends and former allies under the bus on perceived slights, much less real ones. It is not that unreasonable to assume that he'd throw tantrum and suggest bombing Russia with Chinese decals. Like he did before. But who knows, I also thought Putin would not be anserous enough to go ahead with the invasion because it clearly was not in Russia's best interest, and lo, he clearly was, so clearly I suck at gauging other people's intentions. Clearly not much of a surprise there, I guess, that's clear.2 points

Even if it wasn't, I'd just like to make it clear that my ire is really reserved for those who poke their noses into everything and believe themselves knowledgeable about all of it whilst only armed with a woefully inadequate surface level of understanding. It is perfectly normal to be ignorant of the million different subjects in which you do not claim any substantive/authoritative expertise over (there's only so much time in life to learn the fine details!), but way too many are wholly incapable of knowing that they don't know enough and have an inexplicable sense of pride about it when they painfully come to face with it. Don't be that guy, nobody likes that guy...and you're just going to keep proverbially urinating yourself when you get into discussions with people who actually know their stuff, and that's embarrassing for everyone involved. (e): And on the subject of elections, it sounds like Democrats have good reason to believe the Nevada senatorial race will go their way; if Arizona is won as well, it would make the Georgia race redundant for control of the Senate. And it looks very possible Republicans will only win the House by the slimmest of margins, possibly literally right at the exact mark for control.2 points

Without personal reason to be invested and care, any knowledge I could have of said elections would undoubtedly lead to the same shallow "understanding" that results in ignorant and oft annoying jerk-ass comments like we see about American elections from both too many voters here at home and ye poorly informed foreigners, foreigners who understandably couldn't ever even begin to grasp the issues at play without actually living here...and that's with American elections evidently being covered to an unhealthy degree in at least the anglosphere. It's already a serious undertaking to be at least a little knowledgeable about American elections to the point of being able to talk about them, and I try to be aware of when I don't know enough before I open my mouth about something, so I will graciously leave the Canadian elections to the Canadians and the German elections to the Germans. Better to keep your mouth shut and be thought a fool than open it and remove all doubt and all that.2 points

I remember when living back in Denmark, where they started charging you for water. Technically they are not allowed to charge you for drinking water (covered by some kind of human rights convention), but it was easier to measure the water going in to a household when it came to taxing the sewage (which is what the charge really was for). Looking at compressors and airbrushes at the moment. Planning on getting both before I start painting my Alpha Legion for upcoming games of Horus Heresy I'm also going to need some kind of either Airbrush booth or a well ventilated workspace, as the paints are not all water based Edit: Currently looking at Iwata stuff for the first two https://www.hobbytools.com.au/Iwata-IS975-Power-Jet-Pro-Compressor?gclid=EAIaIQobChMI8sOSmeCi-wIVZYNLBR1ncw1JEAQYASABEgJQKvD_BwE https://www.metrohobbies.com.au/products/iwata-hp-cs-eclipse-gravity-feed-airbrush?currency=AUD&variant=32622631419989&utm_medium=cpc&utm_source=google&utm_campaign=Google Shopping&gclid=EAIaIQobChMImYv-ouCi-wIVxg0rCh3z5AkcEAQYAiABEgJqcPD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds2 points

Fries... I've yet to meet a bird that could resist fries. Next time, do a stop at the cheapest junk food joint you can find and get some fries. The more fatty and salty, the better. It works on ducks, pigeons, pelicans, seagulls, crows, kookaburras, magpies, c0ckatiels, c0ckatoos, rosellas, galahs and lorikeets (the ones I remember from top of my head coming after me for my fries)2 points

Well, as I already wrote earlier, it's a fact that we are getting bombed with american politics almost 24/7. And since I'm also active on the english speaking internet, it's almost as if I am living in america (not sure where, though. Maybe California but without the heat?), since literally everything is always about america. There is not a single day where I'm not reading any american news. The only thing that improved is that there's no Trump tweet every day anymore, which, by the way, is f-ing awesome. tl;dr - if you are european and can speak english, you will be subjected to american politics, there is no way to avoid it.2 points

Have you by any chance missed out how fast they forced out Russia out of Kharkiv, while they were to busy reinforcing Kherson? And are you even aware, that Ukraine liberated already more than 50% of the land, which were occupied by Russia after 24th of February? And that was even before the announcement of goodwill gesture in Kherson… Probably not, else you would make more effort to belittle the Ukrainian successes Does this mean Ukraine will win this conflict? No. Does it means that Russian invasion is one big catastrophe, which is starting to have big political impact at home? Yes.2 points

aside, am thinking even if dems manage to win both the nevada and arizona senate contests, georgia is extreme important. am guessing IF dems do win nevada and arizona, and those victories is hardly a certainty at this point, then the person rooting most aggressive for herschel walker in the runoff is krysten sinema... and that is only slight hyperbole. the other senator from arizona, who has been identified as the most disliked member o' the senate by a number o' recent polls, is only relevant these days as a spoiler who appears curious committed to wall street. manchin is troublesome for democrats, but he has displayed a willingness to work with his party to advance key legislation and he is at least arguable representing his coal loving constituents. marginalizing sinema with an additional senate seat would be a major boon for democrats, and for the people o' arizona. as difficult as it may be to believe, the laughing cave encounter is easier today than at release. that said, w/o meta knowledge is doubtful you would see the vavakia vanguard as having been nerfed in any meaningful way. pre nerfing it were fair to ask why the two wotr vavakia vanguards didn't overthrow deskari and baphomet and then set their sights on the entirety o' the abyss, 'cause their powhaz were potential army shattering as well seeming tailored to overcome most demonlord defenses. The dilemma of the Russian TV host, very neatly captured. Caveat: I do not speak Russian, so if the subtitles are a joke, do tell me. (Reading up on the history of various totalitarian regimes. It's interesting to note how the Soviet Union differed from the others. For instance, in fascist Italy or Nazi Germany, as awful as they were, you could, as an ethnic native of those countries, be fairly certain of political and even personal safety if you chose to support the ruling ideology. But in the Soviet Union, nothing provided safety for quite a long time. The knock on the door could come at any time, for anyone, for any reason at all, and the people killed by their own numbered in the millions. This must have left huge, huge scars on the population -- ones that haven't been dealt with.)1 point

The problem is, the very vocal American 'wokerati' on Twatter make it all too easy for them to point to and yell: "That is what you get from the left." In particular because our media (edit: that include Euro-Peon wokerati on Twatter) and some political parties don't seem to have anything better to do than to pick up on these issues and present them. In the real life, I'm sorry, nobody gives a flying rat's ass about whether or not white people should be forbidden from wearing dreadlocks or if languages that have grammatical gender should be changed so that the generic masculine is more gender neutral or if people should be able to pick their own pronouns. The height of stupidity was our government prior to the election that changed our center-right party into a right-wing populist one and brought us a right-right-extremist government for a while. Changing the lyrics of our national hymn to read sons "and daugthers" because that certainy was a pressing issue that very much increased the quality of life, and the best part? Nobody's using the new hymn text, and the minister who came up with the change patted herself on the back for a feminist's job well done. I don't even... don't get me wrong, these are things we should be aware of in some capacity, but it is not something politicians should spent time and energy on when the world's burning to a cinder, there's still a large educational gap, much less women in STEM fields, non-equal rights for people with different sexual orientations, the educational system still in need of reforms, spending goes overboard and rich people can dodge taxes in any which way they feel like. At the moment our conservatives are falling apart at the seams with one massive corruption scandal chasing the next one, and what do our left leaning centrists do to capitalize on it? They want to reduce the hurdles on the way to citizenship right after a hundred people with migratory backgrounds and asylum seekers rioted during All Hallows Eve celebrations. Not only is that the worst possible timing you can have because it's just more wind in the sails of the extreme right, it is also terrible because the idea is a good one and (in my opinion) a just cause, because the hurdles on the way to Austrian citizenship are so high that even law abiding, hard working people from other nations who are well integrated can scarcely afford to apply for citizenship (never mind natural citizens not being able to pass the test, oh boy). We're basically marginalizing even those who are willing to integrate and play by our rules by telling them that no matter what they do, they're not going to be allowed to participate in our democratic process, but at the same time we expect everyone to respect our democratic process. Find the issue there yet? I do. The problem is, many others do not, so you can talk about that at some point later. Win the election first, then change the process. You're not going to win elections by championing easier citizenship after bored asylum seekers threw explosives at the police. Perhaps it should not be that way - but it is what it is. Where's the common sense here? I feel like I'm parroting Dave Chapelle, because he made a similar point about the Democrats before/shortly after Drumpf became president. Name one significant difference in foreign policy since Biden became president. Oh, right, he took the trade wars started by Trump and put on the thumb screws and antagonized China over Taiwan (for better or worse). Yeah, Trump might not want to support the Ukraine in the same way. Does not mean it would not have happened, but that could be a difference. Compared to the Tangerine in Chief, Bush was a reasonable, well spoken and articulated person, and let's not forget that it was Bush who once said he believes that man and fish can coexist peacefully.1 point

Like a horde of comments from foreigners (both US and otherwise) on our 2016 presidential elections, an otherwise mostly meaningless election that suddenly became of world wide interest (in right wing circles) because Breitbart decided it was going to push the issue, because the winning candidate was from the Greens - which again is another misinterpretation based on not knowing anything, because our Greens are fiscal/economic conservatives with a socio-liberal worldview and a focus on environmental protection, i.e. they're mostly well off, highly educated people - libertarians, basically, who want to pay taxes for environmental protection but nothing else, the sort of people who expect that everyone can commute to work back and forth on a bicycle because they can work comfortably from home. They're left in name only, or can be considered left if you simply take the definition and assume it comes merely with not being against gay marriage or polluting the youthful mind with transgender ideas, something that - oh wonder - is being pushed by conservatives and right-wing extremists everywhere in the West at the moment. They wondered how and why the presidential race was called while it was really narrow (like 50.6% to 49.4% or something) based on exit polls. Indeed, calling a race based on exit polls would be stupid. Except, nope, we're not calling races based on exit polls at all, but using statistical sampling to extrapolate the most likely results, and when there's a .6% lead with an uncertainty of only .1%, it is more than fine to call the race. The outstanding mail-in ballots will not magically feature a totally different voting distribution, in particular not when historically, they've been overwhelmingly cast for the Green party. https://www.breitbart.com/europe/2016/05/24/feared-austria-gets-extremist-president/ Jesus H. Christ, I forgot how much of a sh*trag Breitbart is. Sigh. Indeed, mail-in ballots cannot be added to the voting district they come from because they do not contain sender addresses on the envelope, so they're all collected and simply added to the count in the nearest voting district (this happens in the areas where one post office is responsible for several small villages, for instance - it is very common, especially in more rural areas). As such, it is entirely possible for the vote count to surpass the amount of registered voters in a voting district. That does not mean the voter turnout is above 100% or that any manipulation happened. Makes for less interesting headlines, of course. Huh, no idea why I wrote that post, but now that it is there I don't want to delete it. What a long winded way to agree. This red wave seems to be as much of a dud as the 'purple' wave was in 2020. Well, even more so, probably. So sad. No need to go back that far, Mario Draghi's failed government was like that just recently. Except one cannot claim Mario Draghi to be an independent technocrat, but the concept is the same.1 point

as we said, your ignorance is ordinary and no worse than what we has come to expect. am not expecting an admission from you, but am gonna continue to provide corrective info as required when we see you get it wrong... again. euro and canadian preoccupation with american politics in spite o' most such individuals having only the most surface level understanding o' US issues and the systemic limitations to change is hardly new btw. many decades past we went to teach in europe and at the time we were a liberal Cal graduate who had a whole lotta anger directed at the US government. being around europeans on a daily basis for ~18 months is what turned us into a moderate conservative. and is not as if we were teaching law neither which mighta' explained why our students were so willing to opine on all things US. were literature students for chrissakes. y'know, we don't even feel confident speaking 'bout maryland politics as the US is extreme diverse and local issues is more relevant than national for most voters. prop 30 were getting significant coverage here in california and am suspecting that water is gonna be an increasing important issue with each subsequent ca election, but taxes subsidizing electric cars and water hardly make top ten o' the most important national issues and am suspecting maryland top issues look mighty different than california. we don't feel confident opining on maryland, but what euros and canadians glean from the intraweb makes all too many experts on US? *snort* aside, am marginal confident warnock has an edge in a runoff. as with the 2020 georgia senate runoff(s), placing the senate majority in the balance will overcome the one hurdle democrats always face when is time for elections: indolence. is more registered democrats in georgia than there is republicans. if democrats vote, then they should win. also, herschel walker is a terrible candidate and with the expected post midterm gop infighting/finger pointing, is hard to believe mr. walker won't become representative o' the seeming divide brewing in the gop. finally, mr. walker is a train wreck and is hard to imagine new stories won't come to light in the intervening month which make walker even less appealing to the few fence straddlers. HA! Good Fun! ps (edit) prop 30 is actual a decent example o' the kinda local issue politics which is gonna lead to euro and even non californian confusion. am suspecting most non californians would be shocked by how the prop 30 issue went down 'cause 'course tree hugging and woke californians wanna tax the rich to make more electric cars available, right?1 point

I "played" Immortality, the latest FMV "game" from Sam Barlow. As you can probably tell from my "clever" use of quotation marks, there's not really any gameplay here, it's sort of an interactive movie, several, in fact. You scrub through clips of 3 unreleased movies plus some interviews and such. If you click on somebody's face or an object that will lead you to another clip. Eventually something happens. Over time you essentially piece together and, for the most part, watch 3 movies and there is a sort of overarching story. It was definitely too artsy fartsy for my tastes, but I do appreciate developers trying something different with the medium. The performances were good too.1 point

The open world is rather empty. I mean, ok, I don't want enemies every 5 feet, and I did like galloping around on chocobos just for funsies (more fun than the car), but it is ... spacious, haha, especially in daylight. I think it's because a lot of the empty is filled with areas intended to be reserved for side-quest spots. No side quest, no enemies there. Late game or post-game I would often re-take max number of higher level sidequests at once and/or purposely trigger the dropships for more action. World items (beyond the periodically respawning ingredients and potions etc) largely work as: ---in specific dungeons (easily missed if you miss a turn/corner), from/during sidequests, or certain big-bads. Most original best items are in dungeons or from sidequests, many not available until late or post-game, or very late story game. There's one added cross-content quest/arena available whenever, that has a few current best items but it requires a lot of grinding to get them. --some better gear items do appear in the open world but not until after certain story points, and/or post-game. So for example a spot will be empty/no treasure dot until then. --there are quite a few items that don't seem all that useful but actually are...but they may require a certain mode of playstyle/strategy, or are best for specific situations vs. wear all the time. The thing about the game is it's one of those where everything is largely really easy/casual to push through (they didn't even add a "Hard" difficulty...), but there are options for more strategic methods (or, well, less 1-button mashing or more "fun") and/or massive DPS gearing and the like. But since it's not necessary, except for maybe a few/several optional bosses, most never bother. Oh, sidenote - dunno if you know this already but if a Hunt-giver runs out of quests, I think it was after you reach certain Hunter ranks, more would pop up at some of them. Most side-quests are the Hunts - there are a few independent quest givers but not a lot.1 point

The Ring of Mule's Wit only gives resistances, not immunities - but getting three resistances is still pretty good. An attribute cannot drop below 1, so my approach for this ring is to make a char with 3 INT who doesn't rely on it. Then the Ring only takes away 2 attribute points from your character instead of 8 and you get 3 resistances for 2 points of INT. Cool imo. Some abilities don't care about INT much: Gouging Strike lasts for the whole fight, so does Brand Enemy, all the ray spells have fixed duration, some DoTs have better dps with low INT, abilities that have a linear AoE such as Iconic Projection or Mind Lance are not affected, all direct singular target dmg spells such as Mind Blades, Sunlance don't care and so on. I found that Ciphers work well (esp. Soulblade and Psion), Rangers (not Arcane Archer), Rogues (not Trickster) and also Wizards. I think you can make every class work somewhow, although Priests would suffer most I guess.1 point

I have read somewhere, that it is believed, that Russia has 174,000 troops right now in Ukraine, and I do not believe UA has as many active soldiers at the front ATM (they have definitely more soldier in total, but many of them are around whole Ukraine to defend the Belarus border and around Chernihiv, Sumy and Kharkiv). And they prefer the enemy to exhaust themselves impaling on their defense in Donetsk Oblast and HIMARS them to oblivion instead of full-scale attacks. Saves much more lives, and looking at the current number of Russian casualties, it works well. Especially, when there are now more and more rumours about power-struggle between Prigozhin, Shoigu and Kadyrov, which leads to a big amount of Russian casualties due to friendly fire Little bit explaining why so high friendly fire and so many bodies in this video1 point
