  1. The immunities from the chanter invocations Shatter their Shackles (not the upgrade) and Rejoice, my comrades! (and his upgrade) are not cleared when the combat end. This is for complete the Strand of Favor trick. In his side, Form of the Delemgan effect fades when the fight is over.

  2. The old where does this post best fit conundrum... Racist Flag in Wanaka actually Klingon Insignia. Most amazing thing is that they managed to get the Police to turn up to look at the flag.

  4. You might want to change your approach to this argument if simply replacing Saudia Arabia with Russia and the Saudi 'king' with Putin leaves you with posts that could come from Russia Today's telegram channel. Just, you know, food for thought because it makes you look like a fascist hypocrite. Oh, wait... sorry, time to whip workers back into their mines.

  5. Wow, few minutes, after I finished to write the previous post, this jumped out on me… If this is true, Izyum Raion would be completely cut off from Russian GLOCs, with all of the soldiers inside (1st Guards Panzer Army, 2nd Guards Motorized Rifle Division, 4th Guards Tank Division, and probably more) … EDIT: Russia again at their propaganda’s best , showing a video, how they are bringing reinforcements by Mi-26 to Izyum and Kupyansk to stop UA offensive. They somehow forgot to cover the site of filming, so some guys connected the images from the broadcast and found out, that the track of “alleged reinforcements are just track of two vehicles moving from one helicopter to second one

  6. It is rumoured, the commander of Russian 2nd Motorized Rifle Division eva uated from Izyum 2 days ago. Before the current counteroffensive, the approximate numbers of Russian military personel in close vicinity of Izyum was between 20-25 thousand. And today, it looks like, there are almost completely cut-off from GLOCs, and only one bridge is leading there (near the town of Oskil). The sitaution very similar to Kherson, with the exception, that this area has currently the least experienced Russian soldiers in whole Ukraine, and there is evidence, that they left some areas, including strategic ones, without proper defense. If I’d be one of the Russian Generals, I’ll be avoiding the proximity of windows and would remove tea from my menu in the foreseeable future… Also the UA army is according to some Russian milbloggers around 20-25kms north of Izyum, and we’ll probably see a siege of the city soon. @ComradeYellow should boast about the invincibility of the Russian army on this board more often. It seems, that as soon as he does it, UA kicks them out of bigger and bigger part of Ukraine.

  7. Oh it totally is. I just found it funny. Because for a lot of people, framing it as "SJW" thing is effectively coded for making sure it's understood that The Wrong People are being critical of people that shouldn't be criticized for those reasons that are definitely invalid. Which is somewhat appropriate when the criticism that Saudi Arabia doesn't appreciate is the criticism of murdering someone for... being critical of them. Bruce is not incorrect in this moment that there's a lot of complicated interdependency because of the state of energy production in the world today. Although honestly I find that immaterial as I feel he'd have the same stance even if Putin didn't go all bat**** in Ukraine especially given his decision to regurgitate a pejorative like "SJW" as some sort of meaningful descriptor of the question. But this is also the person that thinks it is a noteworthy suggestion to state that, indeed, Saudi Arabia doesn't "appreciate" others being critical about them murdering someone. This was definitely useful and not something that was realized. They are unique in this regard as most other countries typically encourage other states to make such criticisms...

  10. Perhaps one of the biggest surprises of the conflict was the use of AGM-88 HARMs by Ukrainian MiG-29s, more specifically was how those MiG-29s were re-engineered so quickly to be able to "talk" to the missile and employ them, something that stumped a great many serious defence watchers. This video provides perhaps the most plausible explanation of how this was done:

  17. It's just his way of framing SJW for anything he perceives as bad (Association fallacy - Wikipedia). It's better to support and praise a government that sponsors Al Qaida than one that sponsors Hamas after all. Never mind that AQ has a lot more kill stickers with British lives to put on their car windows. Outrage over realpolitik is reserved for those dastardly countries that does it, when they are not somebody we are dependent on.

  22. Well there are weapons with reach and 19-20 or x3 critical, so aktucally it's about the combo of reach and crit range. In general I think that ewp is a sink to anyone who isn't already getting a lot of feats, and even in those cases there's usually something more effective to grab early to mid game, so most martials will prefer just using a glaive or halberd (or whatever other reach weapons with 19-20 or x3 there are) instead of blowing a precious resource. Fauchards and Falcatas are probably the best ewp choice though, because they do bring unique combinations that can't be found elsewhere. Of course all of this goes out the window when you consider itemization of the game itself, because if the best weapon a type has some lame effect then it doesn't matter what the base stats of a weapon are. And because weapon with less impressive base stats can end up with getting a 18-20 crit range or some other crazy ability.

  25. If we're talking about the thief, he's tied to a couple of (not so) random encounters thay trigger in specific places. For the other scoundrel, you have to pay him some cash or finish his initial quest. The cash recruits him and the quest gets him to stay.

  26. am thinking fauchards is an excellent choice, but to get the most mileage you need a melee focused party wherein near everybody has seize the moment and ever ready and am not certain how many people play that way. got an enlarged fauchard wielder who is built to be maximizing attacks o' opportunities on crits while also generating many crits while recognizing how a reach weapon is able to cover a substantial amount o' real estate, thus functional triggering even more attacks o' opportunity for a melee focused party, and the fauchard is worth the feat tax. how much better is the fauchard than a bardiche if you need reach or better if you go with falchion and sacrifice reach? am suspecting it depends on your class and how many "free" feats you receive, and what feat you must sacrifice to get exotic. some kinda build which combines gendarme or fighter where you is literal at level fifteen and recognizing your last few feat choices won't make much difference at all? 'course even then is a whole lotta gameplay before you reach fifteen and being able to get outflank or some other necessary feat as early as possible does make a difference for many players. as we noted, we played our dual wielding aeon with handaxes and for much o' the game we only had grave singer with the high crit range. hardly felt underpowered wielding crushing cold. yeah, with kukris or simitars we coulda' been objective more effective, proc'ing elemental barrage more often and generating more crits, but even doing boss battles on unfair, we never felt overwhelmed. the dual wielding aeon is a dispelling buzzsaw btw. most bosses is far less challenging when a high initiative aeon removes near all their buffs in an opening attack. am gonna admit that there is a few weapon categories which is sooper strongk, but which nevertheless kinda bore us 'cause there is literal only a couple options available for the weapon type and so the weapon ends up defining the character instead o' the reverse. players with teh meta knowledge build their crpg character to best fit the weapon they will acquire the last 1/3 o' the game? doing so is not a wrong way to play games such as wotr but it is nevertheless unfortunate how in spite o' the many wotr choices available, wotr parties become more and more similar as the folks who know all the rules is exploiting in the same/similar ways, particular as you move the difficulty slider to the right. fauchards is a good choice. hand axes and warhammers is bad. have nevertheless built hand axe and warhammer characters which is quite capable o' reducing unfair bosses to formless puddles o' goo in less than three rounds. ... that said, and in spite o' our soap box material, if am having gone through the effort to build a melee trickster character, chances are am using a high crit-range weapon, 'cause feels like self gimping to do otherwise. doesn't need be fauchard, but fauchard will be a serious contender... 'cause. tell us am being at least a bit hypocritical and we don't have a genuine rejoinder. *shrug* HA! Good Fun!

  27. That's true, and it is a big draw (reduces the inevitable overkill by more easily having something else in range to hit once an enemy dies), but whether reach is worth a feat is up for debate - unless you play something that doesn't require a feat, like Sword Saint. Could make a Trickster Sword Saint with Fauchards and Arcana 3 and then reload until you get something really good on the Bearer of Sorrow, but that is a bit of an edge case and requires meta knowledge and the will to rush Mythic levels in Act IV. It's certainly not wrong to go with Fauchards on melee focused characters.

  30. The Steelrising file size is 26.8 GB on xXxBOxXx, for what it's worth. Runs buttery smooth on Favor Framerate mode. I haven't tried the other graphical modes, nor do I intend to. The only time I'll pick a prettier graphics mode over high framerate mode is in a turn-based game. I imagine the PC version has a whole suite of graphical options. I went with the soldier class to start, which starts you off with a halberd. The heavy attack with the halberd has my robot waifu lunge forward after a bit of wind up, letting me hit enemies from rather far away. Apparently she stores the halberd inside her arm when not in use. Not sure how she fits a polearm in there, but I'm not going to argue with her. The target lock-on works wonderfully when it's just 1 enemy, not a fan of it when facing a group.

  32. if you're just casting, as an end game weapon you could use weyc's wand. when you empower an ability you get +3 PL for 20 seconds (intellect would help boost it), which can make your casting phase go pretty well. In fact, this might be a good synergy for any caster paired with a darcozzi for any hard fights. With Least Unstable Coil, you could empower the Darcozzi's Lay on Hands on your self. Every time you get hit and trigger you minor flame aura damage, you'd trigger another tier 3 inspiration. Eventually you'd get Brilliant. (I think you can also keep this effect going by re-using Lay on Hands on yourself. The game "remembers" that the original use was empowered, and just refreshes the duration. Though the flame aura should last plenty long by itself). You'd basically be able to cast druid spells in perpetuity, with a +3 PL for much of it. or you could just keep shifting into forms (though brilliant won't restore spiritshift) and spam flames of devotion over and over and over and over again.

  33. This does remind me a lot of how I find some degree of Conservatives (although can come from anywhere) that will point to China as being the problem for things like climate change, human rights abuses, taking jobs etc... but that the interdependence was non-trivially impacted by a lot of American companies recognizing an opportunity to save on assorted manufacturing costs (and the labour costs associated with that) by moving stuff off shore. A British friend of mine got upset at some of his friends commenting about how China is so bad for emissions while UK is so much better, because you can't really be proud of that was a big reason why your emissions improved was that you relocated a lot of your emission production to places like China via multinational corporations. I'm actually not fundamentally against globalization (IMO there's a bit of an idealized world where we functionally have no borders because we're all on some level politically equal, with sufficient mobility that opportunities are not gated by "you're lucky enough to be a citizen born in X") sowing some seeds for stuff like this to happen because, unfortunately, we're not functionally borderless with political equality. I think it's very complicated as there is probably some value in providing that type of employment and whatnot in local regions, although our world is pretty interconnected now and it will have some knock on effects that are not always easy to truly anticipate. It is unusual to see some degree of protectionism coming from the US. Even Trump had some despite being ostensibly free market supporting Republican, with his China trade war stuff... which I feel ran afoul with a lot of the business/rich demographic that often did business with China, but is actually particularly resonant with poorer demographics that saw jobs disappear overseas (often couched in varying degrees of xenophobia that can get fostered by some drum beaters).

  36. What makes you think that the war will be over? Ukraine cannot accept loss of territory and Russia has no reason to stop fighting. Wouldn't be the first half-frozen forever-war in the world. And no one will seriously invest in rebuilding when cruise missiles can strike their construction site at any moment.
