Thanks Victor! The build is made slightly better on the healing side by BPM because Nature Godlike get Evergreen Vigor passive (+15% healing received at >50% health) and because of Eric's rework of Constant Recovery which now ticks every 6s but doesn't have a finite duration. Given health is never an issue I think it would be as good on vanilla/CP. You would actually gain back the uber powerful vanilla Unbending if needed, which is still very strong on BPM but not as broken.3 points

During weekend Russian destroyed another school with 60 civilians dieing inside in Bilohorivka. One or two days ago, they tried to cross the river close to the city for the first time. One of the Ukrainian engineers responsible for preparing the ambush on them have released some information, on how this operation was performed. The whole operation was performed with almost zero visual possibilities, as there was bad weather, fog and Russian soldiers setting ablaze the surrounding forest... Which is pretty crazy achievement for UA army... Here is how the preparations and following opperation has been almoast flawlessly executed... Rumors says one whole BTG or 1500 Russian soldiers might have died during their failed attempt. and here is video of pictures how if ended up for them. And this is the result of another attempt today2 points

Some of you here have asked me for my assesment of Finland's defense capabilities. Here you go; an excellent and very current review of Finnish defense: https://warontherocks.com/2022/05/what-would-finland-bring-to-the-table-for-nato/2 points

First things first - war crimes on both sides are bad. However, there is one very important distinction... ... that's not exactly on the same level as russian mass rape, executions, and cutting off body parts. So yeah, still bad, but it's in the details here.2 points

...could face up to 15 years in jail... please tell me that's a joke? Unprovoked killing of civilians deserves more than that. Because he was afraid he would be charged with car theft? If that's for real, Then I suspect the draftees in the Russian army are... never mind. Maybe a few gene pools needs improving?2 points

First Russian soldier will be on trial for war crimes in Ukraine. Looks like Ukrainian soldier have taken prisoner one of the Russian soldiers who killed old man riding on bicycle from a stolen car. https://www-teraz-sk.translate.goog/zahranicie/na-ukrajine-maju-sudit-prveho-ruske/632880-clanok.html?_x_tr_sl=auto&_x_tr_tl=en&_x_tr_hl=en&_x_tr_pto=wapp Google translate.2 points

Based on historical precedent, I suspect the only crime a Russian soldier would ever be prosecuted internally (and shot) for, is cowardice (even if having to attack a Ukrainian tank position alone... barehanded...)2 points

https://edition.cnn.com/2022/05/11/europe/ukraine-video-russian-soldiers-shoot-civilians/index.html I wish I could wake up on most days and not see another story of Russian barbarity and war crimes against Ukrainian civilian but it never seems to end. The Russian army has an indefatigable appetite for targeting of civilians Here is another story that happened in March and verified by CNN so its true @Gorth I asked you recently do you support war crime charges against Russia and you werent convinced. I imagine this type of story goes a long way to changing your mind ?2 points

This made me sort of laugh. I'm not pining for a PoE3, especially, but damn I'm a limited guy: I can only get enthusiastic about a certain brand of cRPGs, and there just aren't that many around. It's a shame. It's also completely my fault, I know. But I mean, BG2, PoE, PoE2, P:K, P:WotR and that's about it. I'd like to have a few more good ones... (I do have Black Geyser: Couriers of Darkness installed, but I haven't tried it yet. P:WotR is getting less and less interesting all the time, the writing is just not very good.)2 points

i missed this thread until i got tagged in it. thanks for the kind words about the FAQ in general, and also i fully am open that my guide may have big holes in it - i definitely cannot grab all the meta or interactions that might be really relevant, i just try my best, it is also now an extremely huge piece of text and it's not always obvious to me what might need updating. in addition, the SA was written really extremely early in the game's metagame history. while i still stand by it as a general thinking of the class, since then a lot more interactions and optimizations for it have been found (including simply just that it benefits from weapon damage bonuses, which wasn't obviously known at the time, which i updated to add but didn't really expand on the ramifications of) that can make specific approaches sing really well instead of just as a focus dump. i'll take the criticism and make sure to update the language a bit more thoroughly the next time i have enough pending changes to make an update.2 points

Sauli Niinistö, the president of Finland, has gone on record saying that "You caused this. Look in the mirror" is his response to Russia's (expected) outrage at Finland (probably) joining NATO. Things have certainly changed. I cannot remember any Nordic leader being that blunt towards Russia during my lifetime.2 points

several interrelated questions here: - it's been a while since i did the math, but iirc in general the dual-wielding full-attack bonus is a sufficient enough penalty that it brings the damage in line with a full-attack 2h weapon (which is the same as a primary attack w/ a 2h weapon), though there's still an advantage in that dual-wielding weapons have lower recovery time and you get two attempts to connect. so 2w is still arguably advantaged, just not as obviously as much as before. - compared to a primary attack, a 2w full-attack is basically a 1/3 damage bonus (w/ rounding) over a primary attack - you have a -35% damage penalty on each attack, which means if you just somehow duplicated your #1 weapon you get a 65% attack and a 65% attack = 140% net damage. so, a sufficiently high primary attack damage bonus would make up for not getting a full attack, but no, a mule kick's damage bonus alone would not do it. - keep in mind that the explicit damage bonus isn't everything. mule kick also gets an accuracy bonus. Accuracy also lets you do more damage over the long run, by increasing your crits, hits, and grazes compared to hits, grazes, and misses. i did some math a long time ago and in general (ignoring low/high extremes) each point of accuracy seemed to translate to ~2% net increase in damage (not the same as 2% damage bonus. for various reasons, a 3% damage bonus also translates into a ~2% net increase in damage, so in this way might and perception are very closely balanced in general). so adding on mule kick's +10 accuracy, its net damage bonus is closer to 36%, which is comparable to a vanilla 2w attack, but that math quickly gets complicated once you start adding in more bonuses and penalties. (complicated enough that when i say "back when i did the math" what i really mean is that i created a script that simulated the equations involved for thousands of scenarios to figure out what a general trend line was) - similarly, penetrating strike has a bigger damage bonus in practice than on paper, because you should really be using it when you need the PEN bonus. in that vein, +2 PEN can constitute as much as a whopping +200% damage bonus when it helps you go from -3 PEN to -1 PEN. it's getting so, so complicated. in the end i would argue though that just looking at damage is not the point to focus on for many abilities. Damage is just there to sweeten the cake a bit for spending a finite resource for knock down/mule kick. Ultimately the point of knock down/mule kick is a powerful interrupt (i almost don't even care that mule kick gets disorient, except as a way to get further +10 accuracy from helm of the white wind). Ultimately the point of penetrating strike is to help dps down a hard target in underpen situations, not just for the +25% paper damage + full attack. sap can be better if all you care about is interrupt and resource efficiency, but it's not supposed to fill the same role as strike the bell, so you need to be clear about what each ability is actually trying to accomplish. if all you care about is damage on a rogue, for example, you really have no reason to do anything other than spam crippling strike over and over, even compared to sap. but the rogue has plenty of other abilities worth taking for reasons other than efficient damage. (and it's worth highlightging that on potd, enemies end up with so much health in high-level fights that optimizing for damage on finite resource abilities is not a great idea imo anyway, so in that sense penetrating strike becomes kind of a trap choice)2 points

With the milk molar upgrades increasing how much chests can hold, I think there should be a "defrag" option for the chests, as there is for the backpack. That way if you're a hoarder like me, you can even out all your stacks, and maximize your storage.2 points

Picking Shot on the run in Deadfire makes a huge difference if you move between shots. However I doubt it affects reloading (that's why we have Gunner) - for me reloading works only if you stand still.1 point

Prices will be at or below MSRP even in Europe if the price of bitcoin maintains its drop. We've already had decent AIB 6900XT for sale for bang on MSRP (taking our GST into account) despite them costing a decent amount to import. The only cards that are still inflated are 3080Ti and 3090s. Probably not a great time for AMD to be releasing cards with prices based on the inflated values, though they probably don't cost AMD any more. Pretty good reviews out there for FSR 2.0 too. Not quite as good as current iteration DLSS, but perhaps close enough considering its hardware agnostic and doesn't need tensors, plus will be default on every console. (Favourite complaint picked from internet comments: nice nVidia lets their sponsored titles use FSR, but nasty AMD sponsored titles don't use DLSS. Why is AMD so mean?)1 point

hoo boy, if your googlefu is good someone many years ago commented on it, and had a mod that removed the need for shot on the run. there's definitely a penalty, but sorry no specifics. i tried to find the thread but had no luck. as for reloading progress - AFAICT the progress is saved, but there's a minimum reload time. the character has to animate - that animation can be really sped up to try to match up with the "true" remaining time, but there's a hard minimum threshold that they can't be sped up beyond. so iirc you can indefinitely delay reload by moving your character as they're wrapping up their reload. (there's a gun where one if its enchantments that can eliminate recovery does nothing because of this minimum reload time) edit: i found the original post. actually it was about pillars of eternity 1. there, the recovery penalty was +50%. no indiciation what the number is in deadfire. my best intuition based on the numbers involved is that the ranged recovery penalty in deadfire is +100%: 1. combat is generally intuitively considered/targeted at half speed of poe1 2. in poe1, the known penalty was +50% and the equivalent talent was -25% 3. probably implies they 2x-ed the numbers, +100% penalty given that the ranger talent is now -50% knowing what i know about how (in)consistently the designers tracked inversions, i would not be surprised if the net effect of shot on the run is that it completely eliminates the penalty (since -50% with inversions would cancel out +100% in penalties) edit 2: in poe1, i think it was a matter that the recovery only slowed down while moving, whereas anecdotally in deadfire it feels like the moment i have a ranged character move, their recovery slows down and doesn't go back to normal speed until i do another shot.1 point

Assuming being a watcher is going to be as simple as having the ability to see and interact with the souls of the deceased, it could even be an ability that you can acquire, most likely through a side quest. It wouldn't be too different to say Pet Pal in Divinity in terms of the A) The missable content and B) Alternate means of solving quests. Imagine a murder mystery side quest where a regular player character would need to interview witnesses and gather evidence. A watcher character can just speak to the victim and confront the guilty party. I don't think the player character NEEDS to be a watcher, but it would be cool if we were given the option in one way or another.1 point

Funnily enough, I think my experience with Picard and Discovery actually led to me liking SNW more which is kind of the complete opposite. It's not that there aren't flaws, but they're a lot less (at least so far, after the grand total of one ep) than in the predecessors. I also tried hard to remember the vast quantities of handwavium required for many plots, even well regarded plots, in the classic treks. That 'goodwill' can only last so long when the shows lack the strengths that the classic treks had though, and if SNW becomes a chore it'll get dropped too.1 point

Hi, a good way to introduce a cold biome can be maybe a fridge plug to the cabin or the house with a small hole to get inside and allow the survivor to go inside. inside you can found frost who allow you to craft a cold back pack to store your cooked food for it to spoil less faster. you can found spoiled food, juice, and need to a have some clothes to fought the cold that can slow you and remove HP like the sizzling effect. inside de fridge you can have also some ****roach (can be a mini boss) on the spoiled food1 point

Considering that there is a dedicated thread, posting my review here: Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous is an RPG. Considering how few actual role-playing games that require the player to actively participate in the story, instead of watching one non-interactive cut-scene after another, are there, where the avatar is customizable and does not auto-dialogue some nonsense, I highly recommend this game, despite its numerous flaws, from optimisation (poor, but better than Kingmaker) to balance (non-existent) to length (120 hours) to writing (subjective). Disclaimer: I am a backer and I had to purchase the game again in order to be able to play it without interruptions. While one could argue that the flaw is with Steam, the developers also could have released a finished product. But purchasing it now on Steam is less recommended - either choosing a DRM-free platform or waiting for 2 years is preferable, due to the frequency and size of updates. One could see end-users as paying beta-testers, but such developers at least should add the "Early Access" tag to their games. Also by default, the game attempts to send save files and statistics to the developer. It is possible to disable in-game or to black-list the application via firewall. The available portraits for the main character are lacking - not all combinations of races, classes and weapons are featured, which makes them effectively useless. It is possible to use images on your PC for the portrait, but it is disappointing that it cannot be generated by the game. The combat is built around pre-buffing and given the diversity of classes, races and equipment, one could find themselves unable to progress if not for the ability to decrease enemies' stats and damage drastically via the settings. Wrath of the Righteous is extremely combat-heavy and it is impossible to increase the animation speed in the real-time-with-pause mode, while it can be tripled in the turn-based mode. The size of the locations vary from a few rooms to enormous dungeons. There are no fast-travel options for the latter. It is impossible to attack non-hostile NPC first without initiating dialogue and explicitly informing them about it. In terms of story, the consequences of decisions can be shown 50 hours later the choice, while the choice itself might not be transparent. In other words, in some cases dialogue flags are not properly communicated to the player. Confusingly, usually it is explicitly stated why which option is available and even what it does (such as Mythic Paths or attacking). The quest journal, the map and dialogues can lack crucial information necessary to complete side quests, i.e. the party is often required to go to a certain location, but no directions are given and the location is not marked. There is no persistent dialogue log. The save files, while smaller than in Kingmaker, are large (up to 25MB) and located in a hidden folder (\username\AppData\LocalLow\Owlcat Games\Pathfinder Wrath Of The Righteous\Saved Games). The loading times without an SSD are long, thus it is strongly recommended to install on an SSD. The game allows to set the number of quick and auto-saves used. Frequent chance-based skill checks encourage using quick saving and loading often. It also can be used for the Crusade mode, as auto-resolution of battles seem to use RNG as well. Completing a single playthrough, with dropping the difficulty to the lowest possible by the last area, took me 120 hours (118 hours 27 minutes), not counting reloading. --- Repurchased on GOG shortly after realizing that it would be the same as with KM - patch after bug after patch, so encountered only one progress-stopping bug and several minor glitches, but was able to play when and how I want. I also would strongly prefer something shorter, around 40 hours for a completionist run, certainly not 120. On an unrelated note, Owlcat Games are based in Cyprus, wherever they were founded.1 point
