  1. Off topic, but I couldn't help but laugh. 25 years ago, my mum slipped down the front door stairs, as they were covered in ice. She was blue, yellow and black all over, really bruised. Being a good husband, my dad of course drove her to the hospital to have her checked out. You know, nothing broken etc. Well... when they got back home my poor bruised mum was laughing and my dad was fuming... "Next time you need to go to the hospital, you do it yourself!". Apparently everyone and their dog at the hospital had been convinced my dad was a wife beater and he was the one who had beaten her up with a crowbar or something and treated him accordingly. O...M...G... did he hear for that a long time after (as for the truthfulness of it, i was there at the stairs when my mum fell, it really did look bad, so I can understand why he took her to the hospital)

  2. Note that PL does NOT affect hazard durations such as Paladin's self-immolate abilities (but it does apply to the self damage, just not the pulses), Slicken, Returning Storm, etc. Missile Salvo also obeys this rule. Beam durations are completely fixed and are not affected by either intellect or PL.

  3. Ok, so grand mobilization did not happen today. But from what is happening last few days, it looks like, that Russia starting to focus on Odessa. They are moving away from Kharkiv, because they found out, they are not able to get anywhere close to it, and they started big shelling in Mykolaiv, Odessa, and destroyed the only bridge between Romania and Odessa in middle of the Odessa Oblast. Ukraine did a lot of preemptive strikes to weaken the Russian Navy around Serpent Island and Russia have started to amass their soldiers and military equipment at north Crimea. So IMHO Russians moved to third phase, after they were not able to make any significant gains in Donbas, and they will try now to go against Odessa, to seize the last Ukrainian port, and they attempt to landlock it. The flase flag attacks in Transnistria are probably also a sign of Odessa offensive in preparation. And I have found a small but very good channel by an Ukrainian guy, who is also posting their non-successes. I think it is the best channel regarding the fights, I've found so far, without noticeable propaganda from both sides. Also a little bit about grand mobilization, if it would theoretically happened.

  4. observations: is best not to go super expensive 'cause even the best non-stick pan is gonna wear out in a few years (as such, buying a set o' non-stick is kinda silly. choose a couple pieces you know you will need replace.) ceramic actual wears out quicker go above medium or medium-high is verboten even in 2022 you are gonna want a durable reinforced stainless steel base to avoid the warping which annoys bartimaeus HA! Good Fun!

  6. what do you want? non-stick? pretty? stainless steel? what is your cooking surface? a cast iron pan, properly seasoned, will cover most needs save eggs. cast iron is oven safe and a lodge cast iron skillet is extreme cheap and will outlive you if proper care is practiced. a cast iron enameled dutch oven (the 7.5 qt doubles as a stock pot) and braiser is also less than obvious workhorses which will handle most needs, are oven safe, distribute heat like a dream and is durable. 'course they is heavy, which is also part o' what makes 'em such effective cooking implements. with a cast iron skillet, braiser and large dutch oven, add a non-stick pan or two and most o' your cooking needs is gonna be covered. you may buy lodge for 1/3 to 1/4 o' le creuset but the difference in quality is not extreme. for most stuff not in the cast iron or non stick we use made in, but is not a great value pick. more reasonable, for non-stick, am gonna admit we love these: https://www.zwilling.com/us/zwilling/cookware/madura-plus/ these pans is heavy and durable. am s'posing if we didn't have our made in pots and pans we would go all clad or misen for any nonstick needs. we also have a bunch o' 3-ply all clad, and have little room for complaint, but our made in is the gear we use nowadays. HA! Good Fun! ps carbon steel is kinda the new thing and am admitted curious, but we got little personal experience with decent carbon steel cookware.

  9. I Was thinking maybe Add Power Generators, Power lines, mini versions of Shield Generators to help protect the walls, bases, Maybe even tame creatures, have creatures to protect us or our bases.. would like to be able to make a shield Generator that forms like a dome shape around the base just a thought.. since we got the technology I figured why not have a shield generator perhaps when we get to that point maybe have it where the insects attacks our base Defenses every now & then..starting small..would love to be able to tame spiders, stink bugs, bees even Ride the bees around.. perhaps could consider a power-armor that protects us from the gas, & being underwater..Ray Guns might be nice..

  10. Was just thinking it would be awesome to have a slingshot you could load with pebblets, sap or just whatever fits really. Maybe it could even be upgraded to bust open the sap clusters that are out of reach. It would be immensely useful when you first start the game, especially for brand new players.

  11. Hi, a good way to introduce a cold biome can be maybe a fridge plug to the cabin or the house with a small hole to get inside and allow the survivor to go inside. inside you can found frost who allow you to craft a cold back pack to store your cooked food for it to spoil less faster. you can found spoiled food, juice, and need to a have some clothes to fought the cold that can slow you and remove HP like the sizzling effect. inside de fridge you can have also some ****roach (can be a mini boss) on the spoiled food

  12. Pick up a quest item that makes a tough boss spawn. Realize boss is way too hard for you at this level. Decide to stash the item until you get 10 levels. Make a post about it here. Go to bed. Wake up. Go to work. Go home. Fire up the game. Enter the dungeon. Get attacked by boss. Realize you forgot to stash the quest item...

  14. i'm guessing that this, along with meteor swarm, rain of holy fire, and magran's might, trigger a new projectile ever X seconds for its duration. based on what you write, it suggests that minoletta's launches one new missile per 1/7 a second. i mostly thought about these effects as having a fixed # of projectiles, but i guess these effects having a durational component means that empowering/PL scaling really boosts them compared to "normal" direct damage, and even compared to DoTs (which don't benefit from increased PEN).

  15. @Guard Dogam a big fan o' cast iron cookware, and the enameled choices is not particular high maintenance. unfortunate, is a whole lotta terrible enameled iron. ironic, am also thinking some o' the problem with naked cast iron is people put in too much maintenance. the urge to clean is good, but cast iron don't want you to scrub and it dislikes anything but most minimal soap. this is why we got a dedicated fish pan. the fish gets into the carbon surface and stays there until you cook something else... multiple something elses and at high temps to boot. so, we got a dedicated 10" cast iron skillet which we use for cooking fish on our outdoor grill. am knowing folks who literal have special cast iron pans which they will only cook a single dish and they has done so for decades. am not quite so finicky so yeah, every year or so we do need season the non enameled skillets, but otherwise, is not too bad. ... hadn't really considered previous, but particular considering @Bartimaeus concerns, am suspecting a good litmus test for a non-stick pan is to check and see if it is induction capable. if you got a meaningful stainless steel base, is gonna work with induction. am suspecting is uncommon a terrible nonstick pan is gonna have a stainless steel base. HA! Good Fun!

  17. I use AF all of the time when playing solo, but you are right, you have to be careful with it in a party. Yes, MW is very cheap in terms of focus if you're a soul blade, but it is more expensive, time wise. It's probably better for a back line ranged cipher.

  19. It seems like there's a disturbing trend of them coming up with new formulas that aren't proven to be harmful...until they are and then they come up with a new formula that also isn't yet proven to be harmful. Makes me that it's probably best to just stay away from these novel chemical coatings, or at least use them sparingly. I don't want to have to donate all of my blood to get those forever chemicals out of me. For what I cook for myself and not really needing anything beyond medium heat, I would think I'd be O.K. with any number of options, yet I keep coming back to the piece of crap non-stick pan I've been using for one reason or another. It's also specifically for myself in this case, because I'm more particular in how I want to a pot or pan to perform when it's my food than most other people seem to be. I'm sure that specific piece of information is a huge surprise to everyone here, given that I have such an established history of not really being particular about anything, .

  20. This is the big lie that Putin seems to now have fixated on for his domestic audience, that Russia faces today, from a "neo-Nazi" "gangster" West, an existential threat just like it did in 1940. However, only a tiny fraction of Russia's population today was even born pre-1945. And yes I'm sure everyone got plenty of "Great Patriotic War" indoctrination in school, but still, I have to wonder how effective all this propaganda actually is, even with a very propaganda-and-conspiracy-theory-favoring Russian public.

  22. We also use mostly All-Clad in our household for pots and pans. We have a bunch of skillets that have been passed down for generations, so I'm not sure how you get those other than finding one second hand. I do use a Greenpan fry pan for a lot of day to day stuff. The All-Clad fry pans get very hot, so I like having a simple pan that isn't as easy to scorch. Green Pan is inexpensive and will wear out with regular use, but it is easy enough to replace. It is non-toxic. It is the only non-stick I have, all of the all-clad is stainless steel.

  24. Production companies have traditionally wanted to get shows to at least 100 episodes for syndication purposes (this is less necessary in this day and age, though). Most shows hit this mark in their 5th year. After the 5th year, not-coincidentally, most featured regular cast members have to renew their contract, making shows much more expensive to produce after season 5 and the reason why season 5 is the last season for many multi-season shows unless the show is doing astoundingly great ratings (NCIS, Simpsons - although Simpsons also has great merchandising). This is probably partially the rationale for cancelling the MacGyver reboot that was Magnum's lead-in after it had it's season 5 (even though they only had 94 episodes, which is still good enough for syndication, since its now in syndication) although I've also heard rumors of some production conflicts regarding the last season there as well (been awhile since I read it, so I don't recall the details).

  26. I have only one request. Please add rafts. I dont mind if these are late game unlocks I would just love to be able to raft around the pond, around weevil Island. It would also open game to new potential areas/ Biomes (sink or maybe a swimming pool and filtration system for example. maybe explore on water floats etc). There could be different options for paddles (ant paddle, weevil paddle). Different choice of raft like a flat weedstem raft or a grass cannoe, or maybe something a bit more out there like antpart raft/cannoe. I love swimming and exploring in games, I also love having different options for mobility. My current base has a fishing village with a dock planned and would love if it got use other than just for aesthetics.

  29. When the game informs you that a certain boss will only attack you if you have a specific item, but you should never carry the specific item with you since if you do, a certain boss will attack you, maybe I should learn to listen to the game. My level 12 party in Stranger of Sword City ran into a level 37 boss.

  30. The 4-8 slice is kinda weird since it's relatively easy to spend most of these levels not fighting anything (especially if you spend about a month or two after Maje island wandering aimlessly to grab exploration XP which adds up really fast at low levels), but fair, Phantom at 4 makes sense if you hit the digsite at that level. As for antipathetic field, I like it enough in TB but I think I'd probably sink dex for the same TB setup, and it's definitely powerful, but I find it miserable to use in RTWP - especially at lower levels when it's especially good - since it ends up exploding companions a lot more than I hoped (also Mind Wave is mostly to be there as a cheap aoe interrupt, which admittedly is messy to time because of the cast time 2 tacked on it on top of the other nerfs)

  33. No, although of course that doesn't help. Let's start with the fact that Boris Johnson is an inveterate liar who is not to be trusted with anything. Once you have someone like that as prime minister, the credibility of your government is very seriously undermined. The UK government has made a pretty decent response in many respects, but given what it's up against, that was essentially the least anyone could expect. In my view, it has been quite some time since the UK had good leadership. To witness Boris Johnson in his element, flippantly denying the reality around him, just watch this very short clip. It's horrifying.

  35. My own lack of focus, probably. I finish a side gig and oh look what's that cyberpsycho icon there, hey what's that shootout in the alley there, oh a ripper I haven't visited before... you get the idea. I'm not actively trying to 100% the game, it's just that it's hard for me to stick to the main missions and ignore all the stuff that the game throws in my face all the time while trying to get from A to B. I don't always use the QT terminals so that's a factor too. While I would have liked more resources devoted to a bigger, better main plot, I understand how all the side stuff is necessary because the map is huge and would be pretty empty otherwise. It still is to a degree.

  36. My group and I wanted to give some positive feedback since we mostly only come here to complain and ask for resolution. We love the repair glue idea. It gives us a use for many of our hoarded bug parts and allows us to go out on bigger adventures without so many repair parts on us. It does seem overpowered that the glue works for both armor and weapons, so we would understand if a different item was used to repair weapons. One thing we ask is if we can use spider parts to make repair glue too? We have them in abundance and it would be nice to use them for something constructive instead of trashing so many. (The bug goop is REALLY stacking up too) The bug damage reduction that rolled out today was needed and appreciated. We still have to be careful with some of the toughest enemies, but its no longer a death sentence to make a mistake or get jumped by an extra bug or two anymore.

  37. Democracy and capitalism is unrelated. You can have one without the other. Russia is not communist today. Mind you, it sure isn't democratic either. Putin doesn't need to destabilize the EU. The Conservative Party in England did a much better job of that than Putin could ever have done. Orban and whatshisname in Poland are also causing a lot of friction from the inside. Yes, those former WP states who so looove the EU....

  38. @Elric GaladI think when you uploaded the most recent version I felt it a little in my soul because I’ve suddenly been thinking about Deadfire this week after having not played for a while and then I come back to find the best balance change I could have hoped for. I love shapeshifting more than anything in RPGs and these changes to Spiritshift look like great adjustments which are in line with the vanilla experience while being more generous to people (like me) who try to build around this fantasy. Just wanted to say thank you for your continued work on this project. Your effort is deeply appreciated!

  39. My brother and I came back to check out the new content after being gone for several updates, and we immediately noticed there's now TWO wolf spiders living under the tree (and our magnificent treehouse base). Though tougher to kill than we remember, we axed both of them on the same day and continued trying out new features. Imagine our surprise when, at the dawn of the next day, two wolf spiders were again snoring menacingly under our fortress. Unless I'm wildly misremembering, it used to take around three days for a wolf spider to respawn after being killed. The current daily respawn rate is troublesome for two key reasons: zone control and immersion. If wolf spiders only take a day to respawn, building a base anywhere near a spawn point is a huge risk. Having a wolf spider permanently prowling around your under-construction base is going to result in frequent an frightening deaths, no matter how many times you squash them. That leads into the second point of immersion; when you conquer an apex predator, you should gain control of the area for a reasonable time. One of the foundations of survival games is imposing order on nature but if the nastiest enemies only stay dead till the next day it ruins that sense of taming the wilderness. Plus, regularly scheduled daily respawns of pretty much anything reduce the sense of playing in living world. I know creature respawn rate balance is probably low on the priority while new features still need to be created, but at least for the wolf spiders, please tone them down so its reasonable to build in the vicinity of their spawn point. Thanks!
