  4. This is so much smoother, wow. @Kvellen Thank you so much I added this to the initial script hook: Teleport the player to the eastern door Open the door Start the cutscene with the guard Open Character Creation Open Legacy Selection Have the Player AI walk slightly towards the guard In this sequence the cutscene plays smoothly and both the Legacy Window and Character Creation can be opened in the same script! Now that the player has to move to another scene (and we know for sure that they may trigger another set of script hooks) before the Tyrant of Decay encounter, I've replaced the lax01_00_bs_guard_memory_pool_welcome Lv-up script with with a second script hook which triggers when you've entered the spectator stands.

  5. Well, Madoka contains some uncanny valley elements, right in the intro - something that was cut from the theatrical realease. Otherwise it's fine insofar as it looks like most modern anime does (i.e. very obviously digitally coloured). Hey look, you made Sakura angry! Heh. Three films, and one of them is porn... not bad.

  9. Galatians 4:16.jpg B5 has some amazingly good top episodes and the main arc is great- up to a point- but it's got a load of problems that become more and more evident once the mystery is gone. That's why I'm for once reasonably keen on there being a remake since a lot of the problems should be readily fixable.

  11. Last few times I've fired up Tales of Arise, I stand at the Final Battle spot for a minute...then turn around and teleport back out to do something else. The thought of a couple of maybe slightly extended fights then likely 20+ minutes of cutscenes or something just makes me go pffft. I'm getting close to lvl 60 tho (max is lvl 100 I think), meaning maybe I can do that one lvl 60ish side quest that I've heard opens up a costume sidequest. Costumes are good. Maybe I'll do that first. *Then* do the Final Battle to unlock the few things that unlocks. Maybe.

  13. Another suggestion for the proboscis is to combine it with bug rubber and two acorn shells to make a pump. You could use this on items to extract liquids. Like use on a flower to gain nectar, dandelions to get latex, maybe even kill a wolf spider and sacrifice the other drops to gain more poison

  14. Hello Everyone, I am trying my first solo run (POTD-upscaled all) and I decided to do a swashbuckler. It is very strange to not have the usual banter of the party, and I am not sure I enjoyed the 'powerleveling' aspect of early game, where I basically had to level up doing menial quests and ship exploring to become a more powerful character. It was a bit of a grind, compared to a 5 man party, in which you are really playing the game from the inception. I really become more powerful around level 12-14, and now at level 20 I can handle many encounters, but a lack of healing and ability refresh is a bit of an issue. I am doing Nemnok now, and I think I will need to use invis to reset battles after killing the mobs one by one. Is is just me, or is that the 'Meta' for solo play for swashbuckers or rogue types? I dont want to do it every time, but it seems like certain encounter leave little other option. I imagine a monk would just be able to use WoTW to eradicate mobs. In sum it feels like a Swashbuckler loses its utility in the late game. I guess I can spam healing potions, but even then it is not enough depending on the mobs (esp. Arcane dampener!) Other than that, I guess blood mage or priest of skaen are good choices, as I have seen on the Ultimate list! Why do most people choose priest of skaen - to reset battles using Invis? I think I will try to do a monk solo for the next round. What has your recent solo experiences been like? Which classes have you enjoyed? And, what have been some of your successes ,challenges, or anecdotes?

  15. Would love to be able to go inside the beehive to have a look around! What would you find in there? Plenty! - Honey Globs - needs the T2 shovel to dig them out. Makes a great food source but needs to be melted down in an oven first to make it into its goopy, edible form. It doesn't go bad, and restores about 4x as much as a mushroom. - Bee larvae - an easy prey for the curious explorer, as long as you don't enrage the worker bees nearby. The larva, however, will attempt to defend itself by attacking or trying to hide within the hexagonal walls of the hive, and may get a hit or two in on you before you can kill it. Drops raw bee larva meat and a new type of goop that is used for a smoothie base. The new smoothie base doubles the power and effects of any smoothie you make with it. Attacking a larva in the presence of a worker bee will enrage the worker bee and it may even call for backup. - Queen Bee: A new boss that you can find in the middle of the hive. Similar in stats to the broodmother, but a bit easier to kill. You find her laying eggs in her chamber high up in an area you can't really reach or shoot to as she will be behind a wax wall until you summon her. She is triggered by placing a Mac & Bees inside her chamber, which enrages her, seeing how her workers are becoming food, triggering her to chew through the wax wall and start her attack. She would have a supersonic wing flap attack that propels you backwards and makes you drop your weapons if you are too close, a swift series of bite attacks a bit faster than a wolf spider's, a body slam attack where she flies up and attemps to buster dive you into the ground with her sheer weight, a ground pound attack that stuns you if you're too close, a pollen puff attack that slows you down and additionally halves your attack power for about 30 seconds, and summons larvae and worker bees to help her in the fight at various stages, first four larvae that attack by popping out of the groud as you try and walk about, then two larvae and two worker bees, then four worker bees when she's almost dying. After defeating her, you unlock a new mutation that makes your glider last a ton longer and additionally you can use it to glide faster and for much longer distances (the drop rate decreaes significantly) giving you a semi-flight ability if you go to high places and jump. You also get the Stinger of the Queen Bee, which is a T3 dagger you can craft from queen bee fuzz and a queen bee stinger that deals spicy damage on hit and is about twice as powerful as a spider fang dagger. You can also get a new armor piece, Her Majesty's Gown, which is a body piece of T3 medium armor that releases pollen spores if you get hit, slowing enemies, made from queen bee fuzz and regular bee fuzz. - Bee eggs: Used to make a T2 bomb, the Buzzburst. It deals significantly more damage than a Bratburst, and can be upgraded with pollen and honey globs to a Bluffburst, which will release pollen spores on explosion, slowing down enemies and cutting their attack power in half for a short time. Just be prepared to have an entire hive after you if you try stealing bee eggs. The buzzburst would need to be used to bust up certain rocks that a bratburst/splatburst is too weak to do (maybe an endgame area in the future) - Bee wax - can be harvested from the walls of the hive, and is used as a sturdy building material to make a hexagonal-like building of your own. Can also make a Waxy Glob for weapon upgrades.

  17. Blood-C has one big advantage: It's interesting enough to keep me occupied and therefore not needing to go back to Steins;Gate and Lady Asuka. It does have a disadvantage: It's not going to last very long. The episodes are showing signs of... let's say, degradation (Saykura's interactions become somewhat repetivite, and there's more AAAAAAAACSHUN than before), plus there's a whole bunch of things that all move along the expected paths. Still beats Steins;Gate since it doesn't make me cringe and except for Saykura sitting on Emo McEdgelordface for a moment after falling off a tree nothing too fanservicey or ha-ha "funny" (i.e. jokes that don't work) happend yet, outside of the intro sequence. Handily beats Lady Asuka because Saykura's shonen mode isn't permanent, and she's thankfully really silent while it is on. Which brings me to the other part that's weird, the monsters are all utterly stupid even if they appear to be highly intelligent and capable of speech, or there is some reason for them always toying with Saykura to the point where she goes full evil enraged shonen mode and just straight up murder death kills them. Because they always, ALWAYS just don't kill her in spite of having plenty of opportunities to do so. Also... The intro song is pretty good too. The English parts make me think that the singer is French. Obviously can't really tell if the Japanese has a noticable accent or not. His French is certainly better than his English, at least.

  18. Yeah, you'd have to think that most of book 4 would be in. Way too much world building. There's plenty that can be cut or repackaged in the later books, and much of the stuff that takes a lot of time to do there via writing should be able to be done a lot quicker televisually.

  19. To elaborate, invisibility is still useful even if it can’t reset fights (though with tactician you effectively reset a fight with brilliant) but most importantly Skaen gets withdraw as well. Ultimate (and Hylea’s) challenge requires you to protect Vela, and the least RNG way to do that is with casts of withdraw. (Unlike normal solo play Eothas challenge prevents you from resting to refresh vendor inventory for withdraw scrolls). Withdraw/Invis are such immensely useful tools for the Ultimate that I find it hella impressive everyone who did it without access to both (even SC bloodmage, however powerful that is, is gonna have a headache with Vela and no reload option).

  20. Yes, Smoke Veil is the bread and butter for most solo MC rogue builds, and indeed it loses some of its potency in late game where you can't reset encounters. Then you have to resort to Arcana to survive certain fights. SC Assassin can do it without and is arguably the most powerful solo Rogue (and arguably one of the very top solo classes in the game, with SC Bloodmage, SC Monk and a number of Multiclasses). In my opinion, putting aside The Ultimate which is a very specific challenge requiring a "very specific set of skills" and putting aside abusing bugs like Strand of Favor god mode.... the big discriminators between classes in their solo-ability will be: can they solo the critical path on Upscaled PotD at all, can they solo the critical path without abusing Arcana all the time (the list becomes much smaller), can they solo ALL optional tough areas including ALL Megabosses (there it boils down to a few classes)... also several classes without renewable resources will only open up to solo if you do the god dialog choices in order to get tier 3 Wit of Death's Herald after Ashen Maw, which gives you a per-rest, on-demand Brilliant. As to whether Solo play in Deadfire is fun or not, it's really up to personal preferences. Personally I think it is fun - which is fortunate because I've played that way for a 1,000+ hours . It's a different way to enjoy the game, both the storyline and the combat. I find it personally simpler than party play. It just has a very useful mix automatically learnt spells, especially for The Ultimate. Wael is also quite universally useful. You can't reset encounters in The Ultimate. I'm partial to SC Bloodmage, I've loved most of the multiclass Bloodmage variants, SC Assassin is great if you like stealthy play. I've had a ton of fun with Mindstalker, currently I'm having fun with SC Fury Druid. It would be easier to ask what to avoid like a solo naked SC Mage Slayer for example!

  26. True, not everything I have listed is true to nature or realistic. But yeah we see not so much realism in some other bugs. Maybe Wendell was experimenting on bees and they are slightly mutated, so that the larva are stronger. He could have been trying to increase the survivability of them for some other experiments he wanted to do on them Lots of cool story elements you could add to the hive.

  27. I know many want a house included area which I would definitely wanna see take a priority. Especially if the basement included a raccoon city-ish think tank that was being disguised as a suburban home. No zombie just meaning a huge research lab for various projects in a self contain structure. Enemy list would include roaches, silverfish, house centipedes, Roomba, fleas, mice, special attic boss squirrel Another area I would like to see is have a thicket beyond the fence. Alot of suburban areas grow like islands in otherwise formal rural areas. This area would allow for animals that you normally would not see in more manicured lawns. If the area has a ditch/creek you could include frogs, efts/newts, mosquito fish, mussels and crawfish. For the surrounding areas you could include more diverse plant life to include sundews, pitcher plants, Bladderworts, honeysuckle, burrs, and the ivy's someone suggested. If the make a stealth mechanic you could introduce wrens which are a bird that will be looking for bugs and attempt to flush them out or move by moving there wings to startle them. New bugs would include katydids (hostile), stick insects, crickets, cicadas, ground wasp(yellow jacket or guinea wasp), carpenter ants, termites ,velvet worms, garter/earth snake, shrew/vole, and scorpions

  28. I don't know how much it could be of use as I only played solo in test/study runs preparing for the Ultimate Challenge, so with no Iron Man mode (to avoid restarting from scratch on mistake), all Magran Fires on except Wael challenge (to be able to see the stats) and Eothas challenge (to be able to try different routes), and the Magran Fires challenges force a play style so different that hardly can compare to play style without them, but I still think my beloved Psion+Troubadour summoner build could be a jack of all trades

  29. Glechoma hederacea is a type of ground cover that grows where I live. It's very invasive and grows along my house and garage clutching the walls and shadows. Grows in patches and sends out runners to spread into new areas. It looks like an inverted umbrella tiny forrest that catches all the sun before it can reach the ground. Starving grass and other plants out by forcing them into perpetual darkness. I always imagined it would feel like a dark forest to wonder around beneath their canopy, if I were microscopic. Adding this along the porch, fence, and hedges would be a natural fit. XD Here is some more information I picked out about it from wiki. Glechoma hederacea is an aromatic, perennial, evergreen creeper of the mint family Lamiaceae. It is commonly known as ground-ivy, gill-over-the-ground,[1] creeping charlie, alehoof, tunhoof, catsfoot, field balm, and run-away-robin.[1] European settlers carried it around the world, and it has become a well-established introduced and naturalized plant in a wide variety of localities. It is also considered an aggressive invasive weed of woodlands and lawns in some parts of North America. ground ivy emits a distinctive odor when damaged, being a member of the mint family. Glechoma thrives in moist shaded areas, but also tolerates sun very well. It is a common plant in grasslands and wooded areas or wasteland. It also thrives in lawns and around buildings since it survives mowing. Part of the reason for its wide spread is its rhizomatous method of reproduction. It will form dense mats which can take over areas of lawn and woodland and thus is considered an invasive or aggressive weed in suitable climates where it is not native.[1] It has also been used as a "lung herb." Its presence as an invasive weed in North America is the result of the value placed on it by European settlers as a medicinal herb and ale preservative; the species was imported and widely cultivated in herb and kitchen gardens. Glechoma hederacea contains bioactive volatile oils including terpenoids and pulegone; these are responsible for the characteristic "minty" odor and taste of plants in the mint family. Like most herbal remedies which cannot be patented as pharmaceuticals, the effects of Glechoma on humans have been little studied. 1. 33. Agreed. At first I didn't want to edit conversation files at all, mainly because of the risk of conflicts with other mods. lax01_00_bs_guard_memory_pool_welcome seems like the perfect candidate though, it only contains a few barks and I can't imagine any (other) mod that would edit this convo. One of its barks will autotrigger when the door to the pool of memories is opened, and then will never play again. I put the lv-up script in it and it works well. Putting the DisplayLegacyHistoryWindow script there as well works, but the window pops up a bit abrupt.

  35. Oh don’t get me wrong I’m not terribly put off by that. And given her history it’s understandable. That’s why long-distance relationships suck. I have always been a completely open book to both of my ex’s and everyone else I’ve been in relationships with. She has asked me numerous times about ex’s. That seems to be in her head and all I can do is tell her everything and tell it truthfully. Good and bad. She does not physically resemble either of my ex’s in any way. My first wife’s parents were both from Cuba. She was dark haired, dark eyed, fiery personality, an absolute stunner to look at. Way out of my league I thought. But I wasn’t letting THAT stop me from trying! I still miss her sometimes. She was the love of my life. But she was cold in the end. Stephanie is short, just a little on the plump side but in a way that’s endearing. Short red hair, freckles, very cute and very smart. I’m 6’4” just a shade under 2 meters tall so there was big height difference between us. We used to laugh about that. G is tall, just a little shorter than me. Blonde hair and sky blue eyes. She is lean and athletic and loves outdoor activities like hiking and horseback riding.. I think she is very pretty but I suspect she would disagree for reasons I can’t guess. These are the only three women I’ve loved in this life and they are all so different in every conceivable way it’s safe to say I don’t have a “type”.

  36. I love the variety of insects already present in grounded but I have several ideas for more. The first would be to add butterfly's to the game. They would be solitary insects that hang around the flower garden. Passive even when provoked they would fly away when attacked. If killed they would drop Butterfly meat, a proboscis and/or wing scales. The meat would act as normal. The proboscis could be used in the trophy and also as in a new item, that being a whip. It would have a longer range then most melee weapons and have the chance to snare larger enemies. The scales could be used in a new powder that when used on an enemy would make them shimmer allowing them to be tracked. It could also be used to make signals or possibly armor.

  37. Least reliance on CGI out of the three, cares the most about actually developing its core characters, has a great balance between lightheartedness and tension without dipping too far into forced attempts at humor like TTT and TRotK do, characters are the closest to how they should be without diverging too much for the sake of FORCED CONFLICT (Frodo and Sam are especially unfortunate victims of this as the trilogy goes on)...and best of all, it's really long BUT not outrageously so like TTT and TRotK. Yeah, it's easily the best of the trilogy, . I can't really rate movies in terms of like...a top ten list, but it's easy enough for "tiers", and when I separated my live-action movies from animated movies, there were literally exactly ten live-action movies that fell into the very top tiers, so it was easy to create a "no order" top ten list, . Alien, Children of Men, The Witch, and The Lighthouse are the ones I've seen from your guys' lists, and I like all of them, . ...Technically, I've also seen Pan's Labyrinth as well, but it's been so long that I can't say how I feel about it. (e): And also The Warriors, which while I didn't dislike, I didn't quite like either - I appreciated it is how I would put it.

  40. The GD soap opera (as the cheese turns)… final episode I got home from WI last night. I think it’s safe to say we’re doing really good so far. Especially since we just spent six days (SIX!) with each other. That is the dating equivalent to running a decathlon! I drove up early Monday and got to her place just before 6 PM. Well, first I stopped in West Salem and rented a hotel room. If for no other reason just so I could take a shower and change. Best sixty bucks I’ve ever spent. After over 11 hours driving I was beat and that recharged me. I hadn’t seen her house yet and it’s nice. She’s renting a small house a little ways out in the sticks. She had made a really nice dinner and our “first night” together was just perfect. Afterwards we stayed up talking until almost sunrise. It’s amazing we hadn’t run out of things to say to each other since we’ve spoken almost every day and even a few times while I was on the road up. Conversation with her is just so easy. The next day she had some rounds to make and I asked if I could come with and help. That was very cool. She is just a natural with animals. She told me she can relate better to animals than to people. That is something I can COMPLETEY understand. That night we went to LaCrosse and I took her and her daughter (her name IS Brie but she spells it Bri) out to dinner at this cool place called “Huck Finn’s on the Water”. So all through dinner this girl (she’s 20, college student) is staring at me like she was trying to bore through stone. G goes to the rest room and B pounces the moment she was gone. It was a short but memorable conversation that ended with “if you break my mother’s heart I will hunt you down!”. I have to tell you I respected her for that. Never had a conversation quite like that one, but I respected her for it. She is tough. A lot like her mother as it turned out. After we got back to her place we were sitting on the porch talking and she asked me what B said. I laughed and told her. She laughed but that was the segue into the first of several serious conversations we had last week. This was really the elephant in the room for her. She was divorced, I’m divorced twice. She wanted to know what happened. She wanted me to know what happened to her. I told her everything. Neither story was all that interesting if you ask me but she wanted to know every detail. I think she really wanted to know if I was still in touch with either of them. I told her the truth, that I had just broken three years of no contact with Steph but we’d only spoken once. I assured her there was no chance in hell of reconciling. I think continued contact with Steph would be a dealbreaker with her. Definitely something to think about since I have no feelings for Steph whatsoever. If casual conversation with her comes with a price it’s definitely not one I’d want to pay. Then she told me all of her story. Jesus. No matter how bad your s—t was I promise you there is someone who had it worse. A lot worse. He was B’s father and G’s only long term relationship in life. This f----g guy was just evil. I can’t imagine a better word to describe someone who spent 20 years putting them through what he did. Infidelity and emotional abuse and sometimes physical. The broken marriage trifecta. It sounds like he was a high functioning alcoholic. She said one of the things that attracted her to me was that I didn’t drink booze in any form. Anyway it had been five years since their divorce. The guy literally ghosted her after she had him served with a RO. He took all the money from their joint accounts and disappeared. He left them literally penniless. At the time B was only 13 and G was a 1/3 owner of the Vet practice she was working in. She had to sell their house and her stake in the practice just to cover the costs of the divorce, debts, and provide a basic living for her and B. Since the guy disappeared it took years and thousands of dollars to finalize. Finally he turned up, signed the papers and it was all over. Both her and B attended therapy for a long time to get over that. The next five years she dedicated to being B’s mom and trying to rebuild their lives. They are very close and both are amazingly resilient and tough. And both of these amazing ladies have serious battle scars on their hearts. I am always amazed at people’s capacity for cruelty to other people. Especially someone they had to have loved even a little. Anyway, some time after that she is sitting next to me on the couch, leaning her head on my shoulder, and said that she had never had or even considered another serious relationship since. Then she looks me in the eye and asked if that is what we have, a serious relationship? Now…. Here it the problem. And if anyone has any advice after the fact please speak up. I’ve already decided I’m crazy about her. If fact I was completely sure I was falling in love with her. But that male part of the brain is telling me not to rush in, to play it cool. Show a little but not too much so heart and brain were not on speaking terms at the moment. Annnd I froze. Words failed me and I said something lame. Ugh. I really thought I blew my chance right there. But… the next day I recovered. The first “I love you’s” were exchanged. LOL I think I was more relieved than happy! The rest of the week we just enjoyed each other’s company. We drove over to Sparta and double dated with my cousin and her husband. She (cousin) is overjoyed with how things are going. We went horseback riding on one of the equestrian trails in a park near town. G told me she had always been attracted to the “cowboy” outdoorsy type. I had told her I had half of that. I could expertly handle a revolver and my outdoorsman cred was unimpeachable… but I was no cowboy. A horse named Dottie certainly exposed THAT! I had no idea how to ride a horse and the horse knew it. The power in that relationship was definitely under the saddle not on top of it. But it was a lot of fun. Sunday came all too soon. I have some work to do on some of my properties this week so I had to come back yesterday. We talked about when we’d see each other again and it looks like it will be two weeks (a freaking eternity if you ask me) before she has a gap in her schedule. I told her I wanted her to come down and stay with me next time. I’d like her to see my place and let me treat her to a good time. She’s never been to Memphis. I got the sense the drive is off-putting for her. Can’t blame her there. It does suck. So this morning I got up early and bought a ticket on Delta from LaCrosse to Memphis, open ended, for two weeks from now. I put the ticket into a card I had bought for her and signed it with a quote from one of her favorite writers. I won’t say which or what it was because if you have gotten this far into the story and don’t think I’m already a total sap I don’t want to push you over. But I think she will like it. I put the card in the kitchen in front of the coffee maker so she will find it after I’d left. We shared a passionate goodbye kiss and I drove home. That was 24 hours ago and I already miss her. But she is coming here soon. Last night we were talking about the circumstances of our first meeting. She was actually supposed to visit Amy & Mark (cousin & husband) the day before we met. If she had, I would have been five hours north on the road from Bayfield. I told her how I came to be there and how Sunny’s passing had affected me. She knew I had recently lost my dog but not the details. When I want to get away I usually go to the Gulf Coast and go fishing. But because of Hurricane Ida I couldn’t. So I drove north with no particular destination and somehow ended up right where I was supposed to be when I was supposed to be there. It’s funny how the stars align. She said this was meant to be. Maybe it is, or maybe our luck is changing. Anyway, that is the third gargantuan ramble I’ve dropped on you guys. Three too many probably. It’s not the end of the story but it is the end of the beginning. If you have been reading I certainly appreciate you. If it’s TLDR I certainly don’t blame you. And if you have any advice on how I can avoid f—king this up please speak up!
