  1. Of course we are, and it's not our fault if developers cannot think like humans. No sympathy from me either.

  7. Nowhere precisely. I was just adding this as an example of an indirect way of buffing CON. Thelee mentionned % based healing. This is basically it. You can't code a true percentage based healing, but as you said a ridiculously high amont mimic 100%. Sacred Sacrifice is an example. I think this (and Feign Death for pet) is the only example in the game. I have no clear plan about it but I thought it was interesting to mention. Maybe someone could have an idea. This is hard to explain because very technical : Basically you can have triggered conditional sub effects on : - An attack* (but having a CON based effect on an attack feels weird. Maybe on a pseudo-attack occuring when knocked out ?) - The initial application of a status (you can't have a status applied until the condition become false, and the re-applied when it becomes true again) - An "gamedata item called Ability" : this one enables a status tobe applied and de-applied when conditions changes dynamically (for example : Blooded bar ability works this way). Each "Ability" can only have 1 condition (with possible AND or OR) to activate and 1 condition to de-activate. This means I would have to use 25 different "Ability". Now the reason I write it "Ability" is because a pickable Ability can (in rare cases) be linked to several different "gamedata item called Ability". A good example is Resonant Touch : picking the ability actually gives you 1 Active "gamedata item called Ability" and 1 Passive "gamedata item called Ability". So technically, I can have Tough direct to 25 Ability in addition to the original one. But this "pointer" is a component of the Progression Table. So I will have to add the pointer to all Progression Table which uses Tough (fortunately, there is a way to append a Progression Table rather than to replace it, but I will still have to append it n times for each Progression Table using Tough.). This would be horribly tedious in addition to be potentially buggy. There's a limit to what I'm willing to do

  9. Probably Giannis' best game of his career - 50 points on 60% shooting + 17/19 FT, 14 rebounds, 2 assists, 5 blocks...insane. And in a closer game in the Finals. Awesome. Also, just a couple of weeks after nearly ruining his knee in the conference finals...people were certain he wouldn't even be able to play.

  11. You just have cast "Summon Gromnir" and he's going to tell you that Lord of the Rings isn't fantasy, it's mythology, which is what Tolkien was aiming for. At any rate, I started watching Blacklist now that the 8th season's out on Netflix here. The plot has been getting ye olde Chris Carter kudzu treatment for several seasons now, but who cares. I could watch James Spader all day (somtimes I do! ).

  14. It's called Sailor Moon Eternal and is on Netflix. Actually... things that happen in JoJo's are less random than the Dream arc's plot. Artemis transforming into a bishounen character is about as weird as anything you can get in JoJo's, just a lot more stupid than cars shooting gasoline bullets, apes with giants boat stands and old JoJo yelling OH NOOOOH! once every five minutes.

  15. Indeed. Sometime last month, I finally created a uBlock filter that erases the Political series of threads from being seen by me, to remove all temptation of going in there and getting mad at people I shouldn't be getting mad at or saying stupid stuff. Sailor Moon's Bizarre Adventure...I'd watch that. And probably like it more than the normal Jojo's, .

  16. I think the Sailor Guardians legitimately wear those DBZ outfits really well (especially Usagi, Minako, and Rei - Makoto and Ami could use just some slight tweaking to get there as well). So I presume you actually mean that the Z Fighters look better in the Sailor Guardian outfits than the Crystal Sailor Guardians do, .

  26. All this talk about CON as a primary stat to be maxed out reminded me of The Anvil, the Monk fire godlike build that relied upon crazy-high endurance and Battle Forged + other retaliation effects to kill his foes in PoE1. Back to @Elric Galad's initial observation, it's too bad there isn't a possibility to play around high CON builds for unexpected effects in PoE2. I mean of course there are Human/Streetfighter/Death Godlike shenanigans but generally speaking you don't want to mess around with low health, unless you're abusing BDD or Potion of the Final Stand in which case sky-high CON is not really useful anyway.

  30. Wahai Poraga Counterattack seems to stay for infinity after several battles I think I finally found a better/reliable strategy for the battle with the Beast of Winter: using the spider's empress mandibles you get from Belranga on Vela petrifies her long enough to be able to jump with the bounding boots and have enough time to end the conversation/start the battle before Vela manages to run there, and without Vela around the fight is much easier, works better than a scroll of binding web [EDIT] a simpler alternative is to start the conversation using the shadow form from the assassin boots, this way you don't go out of stealth when out of dialogue and you can manage to sneak with Vela to the left of the screen and better control the battle. But, as we are cheating anyway, better to keep Vela completely out of the battlefield (she stays at the other side of the chasm) using the mandibles+bounding boots What I noticed is not staying for me is the Entropy Shield from the Chromoprismatic Quarterstaff, even after save/load it always disappears as soon as I have no more the staff equipped, while the Elemental Induction stays. If I keep the staff equipped I think Entropy Shield could be reset/restarted first time you are hit, so meh

  31. almost any caster build is gonna suck until level nine or ten, 'cause that was ok for d&d and pathfinder kept the same sorta progression. the thing is, while for 90% of combats your caster will be plinking away ineffectually with a crossbows or something similar, for the boss battles and other difficult encounters, even sub 9th level casters become essential as their limited spells or heals is the difference 'tween success and failure. am not sure why this is kewl, but the d&d and pathfinder purists believe changing such is dumbing down a rule system. poe and similar systems makes obvious casters could be useful before you get through at least 1/3 of the game and 1/2 of level progression, but luddites are gonna luddite. go figure. builds less focused on casting will involve multiple one or two level dips into something anything but intuitive. those small additions result in synergies which may take a few levels to show results. but heck, gotta do something to make your late game melee combatant or ranged weapon haver stay useful when casters has comical eclipsed the others in terms o' power output. reverse o' early game, the 2-h fighter who spent his feats on stuff like power attack and cleave is facing foes with stratosphere armour and ends up plinking away at the mythic demon or advanced dragon hoping for a critical hit to do any kinda damage. *groan* also, the folks who post builds overwhelming appear to be focused on coming up with that which will be praised as best or strongest. endgame best. endgame strong. making a character with a useful skill spread capable o' being useful from tutorial until last battle is a tertiary concern as often as not. if you are willing to spend dozens of hours learning the curious pathfinder stacking rules and understanding which classes and weapons and feats synergize in unintuitive but useful ways, you may end up with a character build which is good at casting and melee combat and tanking all at the same time. congrats? if you play most vanilla classes kinda vanilla and keep difficulty on normal, you shouldn't need build guides save for where they reveal dead ends in character progression as well as the all too plentiful ineffectual spells and feats which exist for no reason save bloat. is there a perfect lann build where you make him a zen archer/x/y/z? probable, but keep him as a zen archer on normal is not a bad choice... but only if you know multishot and rapid shot are wasted feats and that perhaps unexpected a short bow is your best weapon of choice, and... *sigh* HA! Good Fun!

  32. Some of the stuff I've watched recently, mostly catching up on things I've missed but meant to see first time around. Black Sails: Not finished, but it is a good semi historical pirate romp. As might be expected the pirates are pretty sanitised overall, and as with most things there are some interesting plotting decisions where things seem to happen just to set up or prolong the plot instead of being logical. Black Summer: Fast zombie apocalypse from the makers of Z Nation but more serious, but I wasn't expecting much. Not at all bad overall as a park your brain action/ suspense watch, though again a lot of the set ups make very little sense (mostly, too many resources available for them to be fighting over. Why even bother threatening people and forcing them out of a 7/11 when you're going to take maybe 5% of the stuff there? Why chase a completely random car in your pickup instead of just looting some houses? etc etc). Kingdom: Korean fast zombies (with political machinations). Probably has the most visceral take of those I've watched, and it being set with matchlock level military tech is interesting too. The only real problem is fairly minor, watching it with subtitles it was really difficult to know any of the characters' actual names instead of just their roles- with the exception of the nurse, because inept bureaucrat guy kept on following her around saying her name all the time. Pretty strong recommendation overall. As a side effect I now have a 'Korean TV' section on Netflix The Fall: Very well acted and written. Knowing who the serial killer was from the start introduced some limitations, but then not knowing would have just introduced others. Probably a matter of binge watching rather than weekly episodic, but there were a fair few dropped threads too and not exactly light watching. I'm looking forward to seeing something a bit lighter so I was thinking of Happy Valley which sounds pretty upbeat- how could something with Curly's squeeze from Coro be anything other than a light hearted romp? Barbarians: This one I found a bit disappointing. It's technically fine and obviously limited by budget in terms of scale, but I kind of expected a bit more from the story of Arminius especially with it being a bit of a founding myth for modern Germany. Despite watching this and Dark I don't have a 'German TV' section on Netflix. Line of Duty (latest season): Clearly- and by a wide margin- the worst season, but simultaneously nowhere near as bad as some make out. I wonder if those surprised by the revelation of 'H' even bothered watching the previous season where the objective expectations for his role were spelt out and him being important was clearly scenario fulfillment from the AC12 team. It also seems very unlikely that they'd pay James Nesbitt just to use a photo of him. Series overall is very much worth watching for anyone who hasn't seen it, creator also did Bodyguard though that is a bit more set piece action.

  33. What to watch while waiting for a clogged up data import to finish a day's worth of data? Well, I guess I'll try the next Utena episode. Yay! edit: Wakaba has been hiding Saionji. Why do I get this feeling this will end with him returning to school and slapping her silly (or at least insulting) her for her trouble? Why is Utena doing gymnastics while talking to Mr. Screws-His-Sister? What? edit 2: I guess him asking about Anthy counts as insulting to Wakaba, even if it wasn't intentional. Yay! Or Anthy wearing her hair clip. How can this be so completely obtuse and predictable at the same time?

  34. Pan-cooked a small salmon fillet for my 1st meal of the day. Was trying to vary my meat vs. all-beef. It was fairly tasty I suppose, but now the house stinks and for three hours I have had doors/windows/ fans going to try to make it not stink. And changed my clothes. Man that lingers forever and ever. I have three more fillets. I''ll be pulling the outdoor gas grill out of mothballs for them, and likely going to stick with just beef. Of course ... I'm sure there are those who think cooking beef just smells terrible - do such people spend hours trying to get the smell out of their house too? It's all relative, right?
