  1. For the twitter quote : "I would love to go back in time to 1985 and tell someone on the streets of New York that Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger strongly condemned President Donald Trump for leading a coup against the U.S. government."

  4. I do think C&A would have worked better if the played it campy instead of playing it straight, but I still found it a mildly entertaining action adventure flick. I'm not going to put it in my movie pantheon along with the likes of Yojimbo, Pulp Fiction, and Samurai Cop, mind you.

  5. What @Zoraptor said. Ciri was even brought up by one of the main guys working on the franchise on social media trying to gauge people's reactions. His big selling point was that with Ciri's special ability, you can have the game jump from world to world thereby making the game open universe. Don't know about the rest of you, but I would hate that. Hope someone smacked some sense into that guy.

  8. Probably 90% of the stuff in that article had already been revealed. They'll be working pre development on WitcherTNG already much as C2077 had a lot of pre dev work done on it before entering full development in 2016... ...to be fair to Schreier though, while things like C2077 only entering full development in 2016 isn't a revelation, that fact was hidden away on an obscure site called, I think, 'wikipedia' (sp?) since like 2017, so it isn't surprising he thought it was news. He's also incorrect on a couple of matters of fact, eg since Raithe quoted it: there are car ambushes, just not many. End of the day almost every single thing written was either known previous andor is (in many cases sadly) standard industry practice. It's only news because it's CDPR doing it, in particular, the complaints about crunch could be leveled at a lot more developers including some that are journalistic darlings. Nope. They may well have not even made a final decision yet. (The rumours were that Ciri, younger 'Vesemir' or near-conjunction create-your-own were being considered. Ciri is a bad idea for various reasons such as requiring 'artificial' depowering but would allow use of popular known characters, 'Vesemir' would be a compromise using a known character somewhat connected to the prior games but set earlier with more flexibility than Ciri, and the last option has far and away the most flexibility but little to no connection to the previous games. Very outside chance: proper TV/ book series tie in)

  10. Hello everyone... ok so as far as I know most of us have played D&D or AD&D in on3e form or another... and I got to thinking.... Now that we are in 2019 and stuff and we have voice IP with onoline... we have dice rolling apps, we have mobile devices, we have you know everything there's more than a few ways to play D&D... P{eople have been arguing close to me recently about it a bit and it's like... the old method is agreed upon I think, everyone meets at someone's actual house... and then we sit around a table and / or couch or situation with a bunch of books and it is 100% pure pen and paper.... Now w however, it's exploring the new possibilities, we s could use a combination of the above... for example a DM uses pen and paper.... but the others are using applications... and there's different applications... there's roll 20 there's a few other ones I've seen now.... and youc o could compare those..... The one thing I feel strongly about is editions , I really think that 2e is the one that is the most hardcore... and that means it feels the most rigid and has a lot of crazy possibilities... whereas 3.5E is in between and 5e is the most adccessible basically. But yeah so I don't know what do people think... should it be like the old way... for communication, or can te h technology improve the way people play D&D are you still getting the pure experience etc?

  13. Thank you for sharing this build, Not So Clever Hound. I have never played a SC wizard for very long, perhaps due to the complexity of choices that the class presents. But your build is appealing, so I think I'll try it. I had once question, though. Considering that you are using the Grimoire of Vaporous Wizardry and Rekvu’s Fractured Casque combo, I wonder if it might be a good idea to use Rekvu's Scorched Cloak as well instead of the Giftbearer Cloth, and take the severe burn injury instead of the acute rash.?While you'd lose some defenses, it has a nice harmony with the Belt of Magran's Chosen, since the summoned flame blight would not only help set up Wall of Draining shenanigans, but it would heal rather than harm you in the process of doing that, making the tough battles where this strategy is needed somewhat easier. Maybe it would be worth switching out robes as well when you're using the belt?

  16. Could you please explain, Potion of Final Stand — description seems to say it only works when Near Death, only lasts for 6 seconds, but 4 of those seconds are recovery? What kind of +25% damage can you do in 2 seconds?? Why wouldn’t it be better to just pop a Potion of Major Healing before you are Near Death? What am I missing? Thanks for entertaining our questions, GREAT article.

  18. Maybe, on one hand the far-right is consistently deadlier than any analogous groups of other ideological alignments, on the other hand the authorities have had this data for years but instead chose to focus on animal rights groups or "Black Identity Extremists" and in addition there is significant far-right penetration into various police forces and military. Personally I think there's going to be a brief conversation about the danger of far-right terror that will fade without anything being done.

  20. And he is in the list: https://www.justice.gov/opa/investigations-regarding-violence-capitol Which in general is a boring read and not much book throwing seems to be happening at anyone. Which mainly comes down to too little law enforcement to do meaningful arrests as things happened.

  23. I didn’t make an error. They are what they are. I attended 3 over the years. MDCC, FAU, and Tennessee State. I didn’t really see much difference between them. I just kind of laugh at the notion that they are some kind of higher purpose institutions or some temple of knowledge or some such. Serve the community? Hardly. They are a business much like any other. Not deserving of special treatment nor consideration. I also scoff at the notion that any one of them is better than any other. The prestige of ivy league exist only in peoples heads. I once told a guy who graduated from Penn I bet he paid too much for his car too. They teach you the exact same math at community colleges as they do at MIT. Only they do it for a fraction of the cost. by the way, vision statements, slogans, creeds are just words. They don’t obligate anybody to anything. Not impressed

  24. https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/trump-mob-capitol/ Updated to note that there is no evidence John Sullivan is associated with antifa or the Black Lives Matter movement. New York Post also is bit skeptical that Sullivan is part of any movement, but they seem to be quite sure that he isn't part of Antifa https://nypost.com/2021/01/15/who-is-john-sullivan-accused-provocateur-charged-in-capitol-riot/ https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/does-jade-sacker-work-for-cnn/ Edit: added https://www.washingtonpost.com/nation/2021/01/16/sullivan-video-arrested/

  27. Finally got around to finishing up The Guest (via Netflix), a k-drama series from a couple years ago. Exorcism/possession/horror type show. Excellent series, with some great supernatural, thriller and occasional humor bits. The very ending was a little too tidy and a tad unsatisfying to me but nothing that ruins anything. All three leads were good and worked well together. The actor playing Priest Choi - Kim Jae-wook (I just call him Mr Cheekbones...) - I remember him playing the serial killer baddie in Voice. He's very good at intense roles. Altho he was also in a more recent fluff rom-com and good in that too. I think I prefer him in non-romance roles tho.

  29. Yes, SC Monks are awesome. SC Casters can be very good in general. There's not much that comes close to stuff like Great Maelstrom or Missile Salvo etc. Most of times I don't multiclass Aloth. Also because then I reach my favorite spells like Miasma a lot sooner. SC Ranger can also be very powerful with particular builds. Try one with Driving Flight and Twinned Shot with the BoW scepter Current's Rush on some mobs and see what happens. Or with Hand Mortar/Blinding Smoke with Twinned Shot and Avenging Storm and so on. Chanter's high level stuff can also be very nice. Dragon Summon has awesome tanking capabilites for example. Eld Nary's Curse is great, too. Try it with encounter-wise empowerment from Sasha's Singing Scimitar as a Bellower. Barbarians can also be great as SC because of the PL9-yells which are awesome. Furyshaper's Blood Ward is extremely good because it drains from everything, even every DoT tick. Paladins and Fighters: better with multiclasses imo. Ciphers, too - although I like Shared Nightmare. Multiclasses often impress earlier in the game because they tend to be frontloaded. And of course you can have nice and interesting synergies.

  30. Full article from Glenn Greenwald re Parler and big tech etc, as per the tweet from yesterday. Pretty good read overall, though likely to fall on deaf ears from corporate apologists. He does confirm that 'no users of Parler were arrested' was referring to those initially arrested on the day, which is far more realistic than none full stop.
