I'm also really bad at character building. Usually I have to restart halfway through a game because I've made too many mistakes... Story characters usually aren't optimal but still better than what I come up with. 3 friends?!? Look at Mr popular here.8 points

That Dragon Age (4) video told me essentially nothing. It was a bunch of bog standard, catch-all statements that can describe virtually any fantasy RPG ever. In Dragon Age you can go to different places and do things, you will like some characters and dislike others. I guess they're in early development and this video was mainly a "We still exist, EA didn't ****can us yet. We swear we're working on a game." video. Fair enough. Honestly, while I no longer have any faith, I hope DA4 turns out great and sells a billion copies. I'd much rather have BioWare make great games again than get schadenfreude from anothe Bio bomb.4 points

Finished "Technomancer", really liked it, in some aspects (sci-fi setting) more than "Greedfall". Additional fun is to see Spiders evolve throughout their games, and they also have their own quite distinctive style with themes and often used elements and stuff what is really good thing to have for a creative collective. Although I do wish for one of their favorite gameplay elements -- backtracking combined with respawning trash mobs-- to go away forever. Really wanted to do another playthrough different from "Lightning storm, shoot survivors in the back", but remembered that particular set of corridors I traversed, like 200 times before, fighting same trash again and again and....nah. Don't wanna. On to "Bound by flame" now.4 points

a bit over a year away from work and am knowing we are already unfit to return. 'course, we were kinda unfit the last decade or so. y'know the stories o' the woman who wins the lottery and on monday goes to work one last time just so she may tell bosses what she has always thought 'bout them? that were our situation for 'bout the last six-to-seven years. we had little reservation 'bout burning bridges, and not just bridges. twice we went full dresden on an employer. no surprise it were different employers. admitted, retirement in the post covid world is a bit less than we hoped. plan were to take year one and do all the home and yard maintenance projects we had been neglecting for far too long. we did home projects last year and then just said, "screw it," and hired a gardner and an irrigation guy to take care o' the plant and sprinkler issues... which still ain't complete. this year were gonna be 'bout travel. has actual not been bad at all, but am feeling sorry for self trapped in our home with the dogs until air quality improves. freaking first world problems. HA! Good Fun!4 points

Oh yeah I'll be fine. My house is wood frame but rated up to 110 mph winds. I remember asking when I was choosing plans with the builder. I'm high enough over the surrounding water that flooding should not be an issue. Yesterday afternoon I disconnected the solar system and took the panels down. I laid then flat, face down and covered them with plywood sheets. They are expensive to replace and don't want anything hitting them. Other than that I use my generator all the time so i know that's good.3 points

My folks live in southern FL, not even on the coast, but technically off the coast on an island. In the 3 1/2 years they've been there they have gone through several major hurricanes, including multiple cat 5s. They've gotten through it fine, save for losing power for several days once, but I'm glad I live some 250 miles inland. I'm going to move further inland to the NC/Tennessee mountains. I'll take my chances with black bears rather than hurricanes, tornadoes, or earthquakes.2 points

I prefer custom NPC parties for story heavy games like Pillars, but Wasteland's different, I loved its party creation and I still fondly remember my heroes Tom of Finland, Crazy Natasha, Gasmask Gertrude and Simo Hayha. As for W3, I was stupid enough to try and play W2 on launch, fooled me once, now I'm waiting a year at least, if not for "GOTY director's edition".2 points

MedicineDan is Eldar/Cantousent. He's been around for a long time and has been pretty consistent in terms of beliefs. He's also shared a lot of his personal story over the years and is very likely a real person. SonicMage/ComradeMaster is just looking to get a reaction out of people with every post, and he speaks in meaningless pejoratives. Personal background story is fairly flimsy. Honestly could just be a bot.2 points

This is my 17th year teaching, and I can't figure out if it is a reprieve or a terrible anomaly. I mean, it is a huge boost to get a year off from commuting. I am probably gaining close to 10 hours a week back just on that. I also get to spend a bunch of time helping my own kids navigate the year, so that is a plus. But there is also a huge disconnect with my students, I am stressed about planning, and at the end of the digital classes I don't feel anywhere near as good as I do during a normal year. So yeah, I hope the next 14 years after this one are back in the classroom. Then I can retire and travel the world with Grommie and get free drinks in Australia.2 points

It's the board's fault for sanctioning the transfer anyway. It's always the board's fault. Dunno how it is with newer versions but for smaller clubs I always felt that if you played to the budget, the club would go broke, and if you didn't play to the budget, you wouldn't have enough players to even fill the bench. It's almost if they're designed to be stepping stones, to be managed to the brink of bankruptcy before you move on to the next club, to do the same with. Then again, they have the gall to complain about my financial management when they've hired me mid-season and there hasn't even been a transfer window yet, so I don't feel the least bit bad about it. SI probably just leave it like that because in the game the clubs always survive anyway so there are no long term consequences like clubs being poofed out of existence in real life. It's a little bit disappointing that I'm not actually an existential threat to the club.2 points

So it was already tough enough to get gas arrows, now they are one time use. Venom arrows don't seem to do a terribly high amount of damage compared to good ol' reusable arrows either.. my point is... these changes (making the 'special arrows' one time use) makes the bow weaker. A LOT weaker. If arrows are meant to be 1 time use (venom/gas/lure/etc) then they either need to be MORE devastating (as you won't be getting them back, ever) or make more of them per parts. (like 10 venom per drop of poison, and 5 gas arrows per gas sack, etc) to help compensate for this. Also.. quivers. Allow a crafted quiver - this could hold say 50 arrows of 1 kind, taking up only 1 slot (instead of 3, as arrows are one of the few things that stack in 20s) I would like you to keep in mind, creatures hit with arrows from far enough away that they cannot quickly 'pathfind' to the player - are wasted. As the HP lost from the hit, is near instantly restored once they lose aggro from this pathfinding failure. It would be an entirely different opinion if creatures had to eat and rest to recover HP, and always kept their HP rates when lost, allowing hit and run tactics, kiting and the like for tactical strikes, but as we have none of that - most arrows are wasted upon firing, now quite literally deleted from the world. Many that can be retrieved fall into rocks, under the earth, and in other 'can't reach' locations.1 point

While I know the game is far-from-done, I'd like to state a few building options I'd like to see. - clay foundations with peblets in them, to make a more durable foundation basically 'stone' (huge durability increase, making them extremely tough to break, maybe needing stems as well like rebar) - clay triangle foundations (because they don't exist)- also render the bottom of foundations please, overhangs are ugly when see-through -clay/stone walls maybe these require stems as well in them to keep shape. (using clay, peblets, stems, making expensive to craft) - we have 'triangle' walls, but they need to 'snap to wall' instead of 'snap to direction' - also, upside down versions please - half height walls (or maybe 1/3?) roughly just a bit taller than the fencing that was just added. (allow snap to bottom of floors/other parts as well) - electrical. yup. 9v battery powered LED lighting, doors, etc. Get real fancy (end game type unlocks) - the ability to cut, harvest, and use aluminum cans as a resource. Metal roof buildings/walls? Enhanced arrows/tools? Super Traps? etc. (possibly also used with previous electrical idea, electric fence etc) Just those really right off. I don't want to see advanced vehicles or anything like that, I think that would take away from the game completely. (also the terrain is rough at this size, so they would clip like crazy and not be fun to program at all) the most advanced I would like to see is something like Hang Gliders and maybe human-powered propelled vehicles like bicycles or floaty machines.1 point

You can't stop that, barring some heavy tax on offshore services (and even then it would be hard to define such). Automation is also not going to stop. However, who can sell it better, that (s)he protects poor and middle class from negative effects of these? How you build your education and business incentives systems around morphing economy, which may result in high structural unemployment? Why do you still ingest high numbers of poorly qualified mouths to feed and shelter? (this is more of EU issue though) When it comes to changing qualifications. There also seems to be some double standard. It was ok, to tell miners 'learn to code', but when online journalists were told the same last year, it was considered hate speach?1 point

and somehow "sleepy joe," who if one believes the trump narrative from the last couple years, has never accomplished anything o' note in 47 years o' politics, is the antichrist and harbinger o' the apocalypse? that said, you reap what you sow. republicans is focusing on the wrong freaking battles. trump is not gonna help susan collins or other embattled republicans in the senate get reelected. if the senate turns blue, am much concerned the democrats will not be in a forgiving mood. even if trump wins but the republicans lose the senate, donald will be President for all of about two weeks in january before he gets impeached and then soon after convicted by the new senate. the thing is, republicans, to a much lesser degree, were victims o' democrat excesses during the previous administration. however, is not as if when republicans gained power they took the opportunity to reflect and embrace the chance for bipartisanship. instead o' each party trying to punish each other, we need a reset. as 'tween biden and trump, who offers a better chance for a chief executive who will attempt to correct the mistakes o' the last two administrations? all o' which doesn't matter. we voted mccain instead of obama and kerry instead o' bush. bob dole was and is a better man than bill clinton, so he got our vote. when it comes to the Presidency, in our mind the most important quality is character. perhaps you think we got one or two past Presidential choices wrong. fair enough. reasonable minds may differ and am admitting the choice 'tween hillary and donald were indeed a devil's bargain. even so, try and convince us trump is a better human being than bidden. dare you. given our focus on character, the 2020 Presidential election is the easiest choice ever. HA! Good Fun!1 point

I'll throw this out there for folks. I know that my political views can be unpopular, but my ability to read the room politically speaking has been pretty good over the years. Not perfect, but better than the sizeable majority of talking heads on TV. Last cycle, I suspected that the polls were off for Hillary during the entire season. This was true. I suspected Hillary Clinton would win, but I was wrong. however, my assessment about the spread was actually perfect for the national election, just off in three states. You can guess which ones. The problem with this election is that there was a time when folks were scared to tell the truth to pollsters. I still think the polls are skewed, but I also believe the pollsters are trying to rectify the mistakes of the previous presidential cycle. That said, I think there's a real chance Trump can win this. Seriously, I know folks were all but writing his obituary a while back, but the Democrats can always be trusted to **** things up by going bat**** crazy. You figure that it really doesn’t matter who’s president. It does. Donald Trump is a sociopathic narcissist. Vote for him anyway. Biden is probably a nice enough old fellow, but don’t trust him. He’s the sheep’s clothing that hides the wolf. He’s the beard that masks an evil grin. I have this running bet with a friend. I say to her, “let’s count off the times my liberal friends tell me, ‘no one is saying ____x____.’ Then, in a few years, when it’s a mainstream Democrat policy point, we can have a bottle of champagne.” We’ve christened quite a few ships over the past several years. Biden is not a return to normalcy. Biden is normalizing the destructive forces of chaos that mean to destroy us. The Left’s desire to cancel anyone who doesn’t fall in line might make this unpleasant, but we better start speaking out before the freedoms that have been the bedrock of our society are swept away. I know! I know! “No one is saying that!”1 point

No if anything my game has a lot more of them now. Those aren't gnat spawns but you might see the odd one flying through there every now and then. Look for those electric bug zappers they're usually around those. They also like to gather pollen another gnat location is the flowers in the North East side of the map just east of the oak/acorn tree.1 point

First reviews for Wasteland 3 are in and the reviews are good so far; The main negative seems to be technical issues. I'm burning out on post nuclear war I think, but the alternative is Baldur's Gate 3 (which I may play anyways, don't know) and I'm starving for a good "classic" RPG. Brenton Tarrant got stopped literally by a guy throwing an eftpos (creditcard) machine at him; and almost certainly would have killed more people if he hadn't been tackled by a guy at the first mosque who damaged his gear. I eagerly await Gromnir's considered wait and see non conclusion jumping input that that could not have happened. And how Tarrant should have gone for a revolver because they're faster loading and firing than a semi automatic AK, or AR15 variant and both legal and easy to obtain in New Zealand.1 point

For those that missed them (or can't read French from @Max34's post, and thanks for the idea Max!) Update 0.2.0 is now available to download. Included in the update are the following changes and fixes we've made to the game: NEW FEATURES Bird! - Includes new crafting materials and recipes from bird feathers. Perk system with 13 unique perks to discover! New BURG.L Quest types: Artificer (crafting quests) and Chipsleuth (quests asking you to locate BURG.L chips). Added Fence buildings (Sprig and Acorn). Added Table buildings (Grass and Clover). Added Water Flea ambient insect to flooded biome. CHANGES / TUNING Combat Buffed damage on the Spider Fang Dagger so it's on the higher end of tier 2 weapons. Buffed damage on Spike Traps significantly. Spiders learned a new set of attacks to choose from instead of just their basic bite. Added a brief forced delay between block start events, preventing the player from perfect-blocking by mashing the block button. Slightly reduced the bonus damage given by the Eyepatch. Adjusting larva blade poison proc so it's consistent. Reducing the stun ratings of two-handed weapons. Slightly reducing amount of damage the mint mallet deals so it's in line with tier progression. Tier 2 insects now have a cooldown after being stunned before they can be stunned again. Perfect Blocking no longer reduces armor durability. Interface Updated Raw Science UI icons to be more consistent across the game. Adding shortcut for dropping items in the inventory screen (Drop Stack is in the context menu). Adding "Deposit/Receive Stack" button on storage UIs. Shift+clicking item stacks in the storage UIs will transfer the full stack clicked. Dragging an item stack onto the paper doll in the inventory screen will drop the item stack in the world. Crafting an item with a full inventory will now notify that the item was dropped in the world. Storage and Flag marker icons have been revised, regrouped, and their colors have shifted (Requires a one-time tour of the yard to set everything back / new trail markers will be blank by default). Slight revisions to a few SCA.B flavor schemes. Canteen slurps available are displayed in the equipped item HUD element Additional icon art Added a highlight effect that appears on interactable objects when the player looks at them. This feature is controlled by the "Highlight Objects" Accessibility setting. World Revised clover cave layout and lighting, and moved entrance slightly. Revised flooded area layout in southeast corner of yard. Updated house electrical socket with final, non-blockout art Items left in the world (not in a container, etc.) for 48-72 in-game hours will eventually despawn once out of range of all players. Items loaded from a saved game from version 0.1.x, will have all item timers start at zero to give players a chance to react to this change. Players and critters now create ripples in the water while moving. Kids are starting to throw Archer Cookies over the fence, along with their Billy Hogs and Apples. Added a few footprints throughout the yard. Buildings Base buildings will now be more reliably anchored when built on top of objects such as the Baseball Palisades will no longer immediately collapse when an attached building is removed. Water Containers can collect falling droplets. The player can now drink from Water Containers while holding weapons. Stairs may now be embedded in the ground like scaffolds and ramps. Walls that are sandwiched above by two floors will have their crenellations suppressed. The camera will slide to the correct position when interacting with a Weapon Wall Mount. Tweaked the placed position of the Weapon Wall Mount to be more centered. Performance Better Windowed-Fullscreen performance in Windows versions of the game. Better UI/Inventory GPU performance. Significant load game time improvement for games with large bases. Better GPU performance during nighttime. Other The Voice Chat Activation setting is now properly reapplied when entering a game. SCA.B flavor scheme collectibles now have a pulsing light and are slightly bigger to make them more noticeable. Hedge Berries now float in water. Prevented very large numbers of ants from being assigned the same task, such as killing a weevil. Reduced the camera near clip plane fixing the camera clipping into the player when using high a high field of view. Polished up spear movement and aiming animations for 1st person. You should now see grass extend to the furthest reaches of the yard. Ants now find and store lost Ice Caps. Soldier ants can now properly drop ant heads as loot. Tall woody weeds are now displayed as "Husky Weed." Dandelions and husky weed both still supply weed stems. Husky weed now respawns. Ants will not be happy if you take their eggs. The Resource Analyzer now animates when analyzing. A couple of new smoothies can be whipped up at the smoothie station. BUG FIXES - ALL PLATFORMS Top Community Issues Incapacitated players are now saved instead of ignored when a save game is made or they exit the game. With this, players that reload an incapacitated character will have their backpack spawned where they died instead of them just spawning without their inventory in the world. NOT RETROACTIVE Items and insects will spawn under the world less. Cleaning up items/insects that have fallen through the level upon load. (This should help with insect population/egg spawning) Insects should no longer spawn inside of the large Pond rocks. Any insect currently in the rocks upon load should be snapped out. (This should help with insect population/egg spawning) Grass planks will no longer fall through the ground. Fixed Hedge Berries appearing in incorrect positions for clients, making them very difficult to harvest. Fixed torch sound effects. Insects should no longer "walk through walls" when not looking at them or when they are at your far away base. Fixed giant arrows sometimes spawning when shot into a large insect. Major Multiplayer clients will no longer crash when despawning droplets containing items. Game Optimized building collapsing so the game will no longer lock up when collapsing huge structures. The game will no longer crash when collapsing very long structures. Fixed issues where walls could get built in-between a wall snap spot messing up your wall grid Gnats will now need a little more delta-V than a Bounce Web can provide if they want to go to space. Fixed a problem where insects would not become appropriately hungry and sleepy after the players slept. Items/Equipment/Resources Standalone buildings that are attached to walls and floors will collapse as well if the floor or wall they are on collapses. Large Rake Rock now has proper collision. Soda pop can now be dumped from a canteen. Fixed water droplets near sprinkler and oak tree that respawned immediately when you approached. Fixed gas arrows not being one-time use. Rotten Bee Armor can no longer be repaired for free. Workbench light will no longer be disabled after loading a save. World Fixed wall crenellations appearing inconsistently on clients and the host. Fixed wall crenellations appearing incorrectly after loading a saved game. Fixed fingers moving on weapon hand during one handed movement animations. Restructured 3rd person body aiming for unarmed punching. Unfinished buildings no longer block the third person camera. Swapping armor after having collected Raw Science no longer displays the material of the previously equipped armor. Fixed issue with seeing fogless voids in the world after having emerged from a large body of water. Puddle drinking animation and camera improved to address clipping issues. UI Fixed SCA.B Bugged scheme not appearing in list correctly. The resting UI updates properly upon bedtime. SCA.B won't flash thirst and hunger danger if levels are good. Defrag button in Inventory can now be navigated using the Gamepad. Less explosive results when using the Drop Stack action. Fixed Clover Hood and Poncho description being the same as the Leggings. BUG FIXES - WINDOWS 10 STORE VERSION Fixed issues with 4k fullscreen resolution failing to work properly. Fixed issues with Alt-Tab crashing the game. BUG FIXES - XBOX ONE VERSION Reduced screen edge artifacts / flashing. Thank you all for the continued reports, suggestion and feedback sharing, and support while we continue to develop Grounded. I also posted this suggestion but I do agree. I think a QOL feature would be the ability to upgrade walls from one level to the next instead of tearing down what you already had and replacing it with the upgraded building piece.1 point

You are saying I have no in game experience but I do have 224 hours played with the game, a sizeable portion of which is spent just testing weapons. This is some pretty dumb ad-hominem bull****. I'm not claiming I have an objetive 140 IQ knowledge about every single weapon/class/build combination in the game, its just meant as a tool to help people theory craft. Im happy to update the post when people contribute in the discussion but it is after all based on MY OPINION, which any Tier List is ultimately going to be.You really have to calm down. I'm critizing your list, not you as a person. I wish we could keep it that way. And what's that about 224 hours of playing the game has to do with anything? I played the Deadfire beta for over 300 hours and until now put 650 hours into Deadfire - most of it is testing gear. Yet I couldn't do an objective tier list of items. Because I'm far from the point where I tested all weapons with all builds that might be good with them. How could I? It's too much stuff. That's why I usually only judge and recommend items I have used. Or at least discussed in the forums. And even then I make lots of mistakes because a patch can alter item behaviours - sometime secretly or I just missed some cool stuff although I used the item in-game. But based on your argument I should be doing at least 3 of those lists. But if I would make such a "complete" list it would be pointless as well. It's not about you - your approach is just so that I say it is not very useful. That might hurt you, but I don't attack you personally.1 point
