I've also been using Galaxy since last summer and can vouch for this. 2.0 is great, especially if you're a thrift shopper like I am and have games on basically whatever happens to be the cheapest.

They are, but they generate the names that way precisely because they blend in with the general populace- in the last page or so there are three other posters with similar style names.

I'd suspect that the quests are one of the things that put a lot of people off CoP initially. The first couple you're likely to do can be punishingly difficult or finicky for the stealth one even if you played the first game on its hardest difficulty. The first SoC quest is certainly hard, but it's fair- the first CoP one (from memory) involves radiation, a constricted area and enemies spawning in once you get the object. You also have a pretty garbage gun to start off with despite being a major, not even a full fat AK. You start off worse equipped in CoP but that has an explanation and you can use a silenced Makarov/ sawn off for the 1st mission fine. Personally CoP felt a bit too 'scripted' for my tastes and lacked the chaotic free form feeling of SoC. It also (mostly) lacked my favourite bits of SoC, the fantastically atmospheric X labs and underground sections. Still a good game and definitely worth playing, just not as good as SoC.

For your information @Boeroer, I've started modding the game yesterday and I corrected this bug : Shattered Pillar now gets 10 wounds even with Lesser Wounds with this modification. Feel free to suggest any other correction or improvement, I'm working from the Community Patch basis.

I'm still disappointed at the lack of sea monster battles in Deadfire, but I can't be terribly disappointed that Grounded isn't getting much attention or that Outer Worlds (which I haven't played yet) didn't win one of its four awards.

Really missed Yang at the debate. Seemed like the only sane intelligent person running. Weird, woulda actually felt proud having his face for our disfunctional corrupt govt. Also woulda made the news seem somewhat normal after the constant “TRUMP!” always being broadcasted. Have a feeling if Bernie wins, it’s gonna be about the same obsession toned down just a knotch.

The sad thing is the super flexible mechlab really breaks the game, because the OPFOR can't really counter imba builds like max flamer Firestarters or laser vomit Grashoppers and is itself restricted to stock variants. So that and an AI that is just adequate (and cannot use morale abilities) require that you are always outnumbered to provide an iota of challenge. A bad foundational decision to have that in the game in its current form, but I guess "fans wanted it"... though they may have felt differently if warned that it would come with 4v8-12 drudgery. In this game, an ammo explosion automatically destroys the part, and the MG ammo is in the CT on the WHM-6R. I used to run a melee modded Banshee with max armor and nothing but +crit MGs. Good (broken) times. Chugging along in the BFGA2 imperial campaign. Tyranids launched a multi-pronged invasion but managed to only take a system that had just been lost to heretics. GG hivemind. I get the feeling the game is made much easier by having a friend control half the fleet, and I'm no space Zhukov. We may need to up the difficulty for next campaign. I'm really liking how distinct the different factions feel.

That's almost like saying that you're a huge pop music fan and enjoy Duran Duran, the Pet Shop Boys and ABBA but have never listened to The Beatles. Nothing wrong with it, per se, but it IS odd.

In PoE rogues were a lot squishier than in Deadfire. That got addressed. Melee (non-reach) Rogues in PoE had to rely on CC or Escape if they didn't want to gear up like a tank (like fat armor and/or shield). Since CC was really strong in PoE my recipe nearly always was to hard-CC the enemy the Rogue was dealing with (with a Cipher or Wizard mostly - even Fighter's Knockdown worked well). Also the Rogue's own strikes help a lot in 1:1 situations (especially Blinding Strike). Later I would make sure the Rogue had a stunning or overbearing weapon, too and I would take Persistent Distraction since that usually leaves the enemy (if not kith fighter) with no engagement. Coordinated Positioning wasn't picked by a lot by players I assume - yet it is a perfect tool for those situations. In Deadfire avoiding/cancelling engagement can be a very powerful tool by the way: unlike PoE in Deadfire an enemy will miss you if you dodge even so slightly out of reach. So a Rogue (or any other melee character) can go in, swing and thrust until the enemy starts to swing the weapon and then retreat a tiny bit from the enemy. The attack will miss (you'll even be able to see the out-of-reach message in the log) - back to business. Of course this is micro-itense. But especially for solo games it's very useful. One reason I like Nomad's Brigandine and Gipon Prudensco. And also Threatening Presence on certain Barb builds.

First of all the crit damage bonus is not a multiplier despite the wording in the description. It's an additive dmg bonus like Sneak Attack or Savage Attack and so on. On/from weapons everything stacks. Passives (like the talent "Merciless Hand" from the Doemenels) also always stack with everything. You could even add "Dungeon Delver" for another 10% crit damage. What doesn't stack with themselves is items (other than weapons) and active abilities (includes spells). So if you had Azalin's Helmet (+10% crit damage) and Rabbit Fur Gloves (+10% crit damage) those two wouldn't stack - one of those would get suppressed. In your case you only listed weapon enchantments and passives. Those all stack. You could now stack one item property on top - for example like I said Azalin's Helmet with +10% crit damage. You would then have: +50% (normal crit dmg bonus) +50% (Annihilating from Resolution) +30% (Merciless Hand talent) +30% (Durgan Steel) +10% (Dungeon Delver talent) +10% (Azalin's Helmet). That's a combined crit dmg bonus of +180% to base damage. Base damage of sabres is 11-16 --> average 13.5. On a crit you will do additional 13.5*1.8 = 24.3 dmg. Your damage roll on a crit would be 13.5 + 24.3 (+ other dmg bonuses like Exceptional, Sharp, Sneak Attacks and so on, left aside for now) = 37.8 slash damage. And to that dmg roll your lashes will get applied. If you had a 25% burning lash that would be 37.8 * 0.25 = 9.45 burn damage on top (which has to overcome 1/4 burn DR). Your 37.8 slash would have to overcome the enemies (full) slash DR. Usually the dmg roll is higher because you also have MIG bonus, higher weapon quality like Exceptional and so on.

If I was playing a character I'd come up with something way better than being a tough guy whose wife thinks he's cool. Like I spent last summer on a bizarre adventure with an old man, his grandson, a fortune teller, a high school student, and a dog travelling to Egypt to fight a hundred year old vampire who could stop time. Go big or go home, much like current politics where milquetoast reforms are as unlikely (or even moreso) than massive overhauls or restructuring so you may as well play to your people instead of trying to convince two dozen galaxy brained centrists whose sole qualification is the baffling ability to fail upward by consistently being wrong.

What? I think both Trump and any potential Democrat candidate likely hate a good portion of the American populace. And honestly? That attitude is part of the problem. We're all just people, and those you disagree with aren't necessarily bad, evil or stupid, just like those you agree with aren't necessarily good, or brilliant.

It's not a scam because you should be aware that there is risk involved. It's more of an investment. Some are riskier than others, and you need to be realistic about what the end product will be. Greenlight and everything else is the same idea. You are paying to help something get produced, but you are also risking your money. Buy finished products if you are worried about not getting your money's worth.

The first matter to attend to was to show a local strongarm that that kind of behaviour would not be tolerated. From there, a mother-to-be seemed to have a pressing concern which Elanna felt indebted to resolve. Aufra took the news well and thanked them nonetheless. The trio then proceeded north to Valewood to investigate reports of some dangerous animal activity. It was here they discovered Nonton’s treachery. When confronted, the couple admitted all, and were thus granted redemption. The last small task remaining outstanding was the matter of a smith’s missing shipment somewhere on the road. Elanna and her friends managed to track it down to a bandit group in Black Meadow. Sneaking upon them in the dead of night the party judged them too dangerous to take head on, but vowed to return and mete out justice once they were able. It would have to be enough just to get the smith his supplies for now. Finally, feeling slightly more accomplished and worldly (and felling the good will of Gilded Vale on their side) Elanna and Eder decided it was time to pay homage to their god. Descending into the Temple of Eothas Elanna was aghast. The temple had been overrun by foul creatures and spirits. A man at the entrance claimed that the priests of the temple remained trapped below in need of a proper burial. The upper levels were cleared without incident and Elanna and her company proceeded to the lower levels with confidence. Such confidence soon proved to be unwarranted as the small band was accosted by a large group of spirits and oozes, and nearly met their demise. Eder was the first to fall, being laid low by a spirit with an icy touch who slowed his movement almost to a standstill. Aloth was the next to succumb when all attention was focused on him. It was only after making a tactical retreat that Elanna was able to finish off the monster piecemeal and revive her two new friends. In return for their sacrifices the party were rewarded with an artefact of Eothas himself, which Elanna looked forward to carrying into battle. Just as rewarding was collecting the defiled remains of her fellow priests and consecrating providing them with a proper burial, and hopefully a final rest.

Welcome back Alesia! I'm glad to see there's still some activity here, I was beginning to think I was on my own. I am a bit behind on updates from where I would like to be, and I think my quality leaves a lot to be desired too; but, the only way to improve is to practice right? Should have another update out soon, and can't wait to see some more runs from the pros!

Yes, for sure! I was intending to start posting this new documented full saga run all in this thread (without creating or waiting for separate Deadfire one) right after finishing the full exploration of Deadfire. I'm already familair with nearly all Deadfire content including all DLC - for my very first character graduated from PoE, whom I made Ranger (Arcane Archer)/ Druid (Animist) Beastmaster multiclass, all that remains there is to choose a faction to follow (or move alone) and take a final voyage to Ukaizo (final boss). I was hesitant which faction to choose (they are all kind of "gray" and I can barely justify any of those on the RP grounds) so put that run on hold and start another character to study a class combo which is able to "regenerate" their limited per-encounter abilities (very important for those extremely wicked mega bosses or long SSS arena fights...) - Cipher (Psion)/Wizard (Blood Mage). Cipher (Psion) generate focus passively over time and Blood Mage gain Blood Sacrifice ability to restore a spell level applying a variable raw damage to self and gain passive health regeneration. And finally my current character based again on Gloomy Face - Druid (Lifegiver) / Wizard (Blood Mage) on Trial of Iron. I'm quite fond of Blood Mage subclass but while Lifegiver Druid is a capable healer, druids in general are much less fun in Deadfire compared to PoE in my opinion. That's why I want to run Priest of Eothas/Blood Mage as my next character. Priest of Eothas is a closest to RL myself on terms of favored/condemned dispositions and Blood Mage is just strong. And last but not least, as you might already be well aware, Cleric/Illusionist is my core alter-ego in Baldur's Gate universe. So the character is pretty much set. All that remains is to finish my current run, which (considering I'm also running Pathfinder: Kingmaker in background) might take a while. Or I might start immediately alongside with you when you'll be ready to share your rogue and finish my current run in background.

I do like Kickstarter (and Fig), but considering that PF:KM was a buggy mess on release and the developers did not warn the players/customers about it, I have no intention to back PF2 or purchase it for full price/on release.
