  1. Gog will always get shafted harder, since they are a European company and therefore within reach. Steam is safely hidden away in the USA - far away and in a country that will bring us democracy if we interfere with a business interest.

  3. It never ceases to amaze me how I can't get bored out of Underrail. I know, it's probably just types of personality, but for me it's one of the best games to come out in recent years. Take, for example, Witcher 3, which bored me to tears. I could never finish it, or any of the Witcher games for that matter.

  4. There's nothing, then a glimmer... Then you're dead! Build Name : The Glimmer Man Class : Swashbuckler (Fighter/Rogue) Subclasses : Tactician/Assassin Introduction : Pure sniper build using the interraction between invisibility and Brilliant Tactician. Firearms ensure that you can use Smoke Veil instantly and avoid any damage. If you don't play with Berath's challenge activated then Smoke Veil will just end the fight - use it at max range, run out of the enemy's sight, then restealth and come back to finish the target. The build starts working as soon as you get Smoke Veil. Game Version : 5.0 Difficulty : PotD Solo : Yes (or keep your party out of the fights) Race : Island Aumaua Culture : The Living Lands Background : Scientist Attributes : 21Mig/3Con/15Dex/18Per/18Int/3Res Skills : max Arcana (for Spearcaster - required for Dorudugan) Equipment : weapon - Dragon's Dowry (Eccea's Arcane Blaster vs pierce immunes), helmet - Acina's Tricorn, necklace - Charm of Bones, armor - High Harbinger's Robes, cloak - Ajamuut's Stalking Cloak, gloves - Woedica's Strangling Grasp/Gloves of the Dungeon Warden/Killer's Gloves, Ring1 - Ring of the Marksman, Ring2 - Ring of Focused Flame, Belt - Sash of Judgment, Boots - Footprints of Ahu Taka Abilities (required) : Disciplined Barrage - Disciplined Strikes+Escape, Backstab, Smoke Veil, Dirty Fighting, Fighter Stances - Conquerer Stances, Penetrating Strike, Fast Runner, Arms Bearer, Confident Aim, Two-Handed Style, One-Handed Style, Weapon Specialization, Quick Switch, Fearless, Armored Grace, Uncanny Luck, Tough, Improved Critical, Unbreakable, Weapon Mastery Temporary Bonuses : Sharksoup, Nature's Resolve, Alchemic Brawn, Alchemic Guile, Alchemic Wits, Adratic Glow, Rabyuna's Boon Other Recommended Abilities : Gift of the Machine, Effigy's Resentment: Sagani, Savage Cunning, Infamous Captain, Cauldron Brew - Might Pet : Harley (10%dmg/3acc ranged) How it works : Invisibility + Brilliant Tactician Observations : Persistent Distraction doesn't work with ranged. Deep Wounds (and all dots) will keep you in combat preventing Brilliant Tactician from triggering. Deathblows could work in theory (use sparcrackers) but in practice is not worth the effort. Belt of Magran's Chosen is good too, but the blight it summons can prevent Brilliant Tactician from triggering, making you waste more time. Sometimes enemies get stuck in a loop preventing the combat from ending - staying out of their sight and becoming invisible again will usually fix it.

  5. The diversity problem stems from the way the game is designed to spawn attacks: The pandora virus creates nests. Each nest has hatcheries for a specific strain, and therefor all creatures it spawns share mutations. Unless nests are left to grow and combine, each nest creates one enemy type. If you want to face multiple enemy types you therefor have to face combined forces from multiple nests or from a lair or citadel (if that is the highest tier name). So the game design is that early on, and as long as you are able to stay on top of things, enemy forces will always be of one type at a time with one loadout. The issue here is that to the game mutations are just a type of equipment, and therefor in turn conventional weapons are also the same as mutations. So when a nest's strain is determined, the weapons used are also part of the strain instead of being, well weapons. Hopefully they will change that. The balancing will be hard. But that is to be expected from a system with multiclassing. It is far harder to balance abilities for a class, when these can be combined with the abilities of every other class.

  8. Good point. Lots of trash talk there. If you don't have Blessing points yet or don't want to bring Edér or want to use more than two pets: You can have 5 pets simultaneously without deactivating challenges & blessings: save your game, then type IRoll20s and then UnlockPets Which will unlock athe pet slots of all party members in this cheated instance. No surprise here. Then reload your non-cheated save game --> still unlocked pet slots for you. The UnlockPets command gets activated globally and stays active when reloading. This also used to be the case with FreeRecipesToggle - but I was able to report that during beta (or right after release, can't remember) and it got fixed. I only recently discovered that UnlockPets has the same behavior as original FreeRecipesToggle. That way you can have Concelhaut + Nemnok and three other pets if you wish. There are some nice little synergies possible with 5 pets. It's not OP but it does give you an advantage of course.

  9. Carnival Row was strange. Really good acting, interesting setting, but I'd almost say it was trying too hard to be the next GoT. The ending of the season left me cold, and people seemed to make a lot of bad decisions all the time. I don't know, I'm pretty lukewarm on it.

  10. Not companions, but if you want the most talkative party you should bring along also Modwyr, Concelhaut and Nemnok (use Berath's Blessings to unlock Eder's pet slot).

  13. That is also because most of Rogue active abilities aren't really worth their guile. Even as a MC you spam Crippling and Blinding strike most of the time in my experience. Maybe MC assassin spam Smoke Veil and Shadowing Beyond too but SC should indeed spam Vanishing instead. Gambit is tempting but require even more dedication. I plan to add a +2 Guile Bracer un my mod to help it a bit. Community patch already decreased Withering Strike Cost. Smoke Veil, Shadowing Beyond and Shadow Step should cost 1 loss Guile each. This should diversify Rogue Builds.

  15. For one thing, if it's Tim/Leonard who are free to create the game system they like, i personnaly have no worry regarding this point. I don't expect to see a copy paste of what already exists. "Beauty" was actually a pretty surprising idea in Arcanum at the time, and there was quite a few others like this. And after playing a while, it all made full sense. I'm more worried about how these game systems created will be used, considering how Obsidian has clearly shifted its focus regarding game mechanics in RPGs since Pillars II, going more towards accessibility/practicality than making sense. Bioware and Bethesda did the same back in the day. Hum...

  17. Pretty much all there is to see in Toronto But is the largest city (and thus most relevant) in Canada. Seems people here really want it to be seen as a world class city, but we're on the tier of Chicago rather than NY. All considered, it's not a bad place to live, although it is getting ridiculously expensive to live in due to a lot of reasons, things like preferences for single family dwellings, demand (although some people are stupid in how they MUST live near the core). Prices aren't as bad if you go into Etobicoke or Scarborough (two former cities that were eventually merged into Toronto), but the problems there are your jobs will likely be downtown and public transit offered there is a joke. A lot of immigrants ended up here, so at the very least you can usually find food from all over the world here (yet, no place has good doubles).

  21. So it seems there was this hitchhiker walking down a long and desolate road on a dark, foggy night. When out of the fog a car appears and slows down next to him. Thinking he was being offered a ride he got in. As the car began moving he looked over and was horrified to see there was no driver. Then he was more horrified to see a curve in the road ahead. Just as he was sure he was doomed a hand reached in from outside the driver side window and turned the steering wheel. The hitchhiker was terrified. He sank down into the seat and held his breath. Every so often the disembodied hand reached in from outside the car and turned the wheel. Finally his nerve broke and he jumped from the car and ran all the way to the next town. He stumbled into a bar and ordered four shots of tequila, After downing the liquor he began telling the other patrons at the bar of his experience. Just then two big guys walked into the bar. One of them glances at the hitchhiker then turns to the other and say "Hey isn't that the little sonofabitch who got in the car while we were pushing it?"
