Dragon sucks, you are better off with mediums, trust me...

I'm the enemy, 'cause I like to think, I like to read. I'm into freedom of speech, and freedom of choice. I'm the kinda guy that likes to sit in a greasy spoon and wonder, "Gee, should I have the T-bone steak or the jumbo rack of barbecue ribs with the side-order of gravy fries?" I want high cholesterol! I wanna eat bacon, and butter, and buckets of cheese, okay?! I wanna smoke a Cuban cigar the size of Cincinnati in the non-smoking section! I wanna run naked through the street, with green Jell-O all over my body, reading Playboy magazine. Why? Because I suddenly may feel the need to, okay, pal? I've SEEN the future. Do you know what it is? It's a 47-year-old virgin sitting around in his beige pajamas, drinking a banana-broccoli shake, singing "I'm an Oscar Meyer Wiene"

Still grinding to get flying, much slower than everyone else but also spending less time.  On track to get it in 5 days, so not too bad, might be sooner if I get an emissary one day.

I'm playing Setting Up My Controls On X4: Foundations. They don't have a premade profile for my Thrustmaster HOTAS X fightstick, so I have to set everything up myself. My flightstick has plenty of axes but not nearly enough buttons to cover all my usual functions, so I'm using a gamepad in addition to the flightstick. I mapped all the on foot controls to the gamepad (walking around with a flightstick would feel weird) as well as menu navigation. I have all my usual flight, targeting, and weapon controls on the flightstick and I'm mapping as many of the communication, fleet command, etc. functions to the gamepad as I can. I'll still need to use m&kb once in a while, but I'm trying to get a setup where I can use flightstick & gamepad 95% of the time.

I have arrived at Tethe’alla in Tales of Symphonia. Slowly acquiring easier to get titles, and uncovering the plot twist second time. Some stuff I remember good, some stuff I do not remember at all. Combat feels little bit clumsy compared to other older Tales of titles, I’ve played. It will be very long time before I’ll have chance for Platinum with this one :)

Rebel Galaxy

I just bought the Sorcerer Dreadnaught. Only slightly more expensive than the cheapest dread and only 4 mil shy of the most expensive dread. And it's a beauty, ruins everything in sight. The game is basically done at this point.

Playing The Moment of Silence.  Early days so far but seems like it might be something on par with Subject 13 in that I'll drag myself through

Heat Signature this time. I'm pretty sure I've got the hang of it now. It used to be that if guys had shields I just wouldn't do a mission. Now I've got my pick of crash traps, subverters, crashbeams. And I actually like the crash traps the most maybe. Because they constantly recharge. And if you place them on the teleporter reinforcements become a joke.

My guys aren't dying anymore. But I also haven't attempted my first stronghold. Everyone's got a freaking shield on that one.

Deraldin, if you're reading this, my first guy's personal mission was to save one of your guys. He died trying.

You're right, it seems to be similar to a Centurion in terms of armor, but it acts one turn later.

What heavy 'Mechs I should look for?

Not sure how the patches and DLCs changed the games but Orions were pretty much the go-to heavy mech when the game came out. Pack the Vs with missiles and the Ks with AC10/AC20 and you're pretty much set until you need to switch to assault mechs. Focus missiles on one enemy until it topples over and precision one-shot with an AC20. Rinse and repeat with assault mechs as they become available. If it can't serve as either missile boat or ballistic finisher then toss* it.

As far as pilot skills go in the campaign I ended up with everyone having Bulwark, Sensor Lock and Master Tactician. Breaching Shot suffers too much from PPCs being from the arse in the game, Ace Pilot looks good on paper but in reality pales compared to being able to weather the missile storm a little while longer and moving earlier in the turn, potentially disabling or even destroying an enemy mech before they can move.

*One possible exception being a melee focused build with a lot of support weapons but those got the nerf-hammer pretty bad in the first patch IIRC.

No mind to think. No will to break. No voice to cry suffering.

Generally anything 75ton. Thing is, this game is about getting them first, so the heavier mechs you bring the better (more firepower). Orion and Black Knight are best hevies, a lot of armor and tonnage to carry big guns

On the other hand, Dragon makes for a pretty decent melee mech. Punches harder than almost any other heavy, and is fiendishly fast at 150(!) speed. Max armor and depending on what you have available give it either more punching power or DFA damage reduction. Some JJ, and maybe 2x SRM6. Charge ALL the things!

It's the Quickdraw you want to sell immediately, when it comes to heavies.

Playing through Skyrim again with a bunch of new mods. I made a character that is an absolute glass cannon. Maxed out in Archery, Sneak & Alchemy. No additional perks in armor or any melee or magic. Absolute death from sneak attacks. With Auriels bow she does 300+ per shot with ebony arrows. Take down a dragon in 20-25 shots (I use a mode that makes dragons a real fight). But that fight with Alduin on top of the mountain shows how flawed this build is. Can't use the Become Ethereal shout and no armor perks means no protection from him. Can't get far enough away to be effective and still keep him on the ground.

Just finished a game of XCOM: Enemy Within.  Hadn't played it in quite a while, so I didn't max out the difficulty.  It was shorter than I remember, and easier than I remember (with the exception of sectopods, which, unlike XCOM 2, are actually scary.)  Randomly picked up 5 achievements, all for stuff expansion related (3 modified soldier ones, one for kills with base personnel, and one for kills with a covert op.)  Lost 1 country (I suffered from Brexit! 😛 ), but did fine other than that.  I didn't remember it being this way, but I had 8 empty buildable spots in my base when I beat the game.  Didn't build a single lab, and only built a second workshop because I remembered wanting lots of workshops, but I didn't actually need it.  Still funny to see the stats at the end, since some people apparently cheated in ridiculous amounts of money and stuff, such that the average income per game was over 6 times what I earned (and I had like an extra 7000 supplies.)

According to Steam I'm now at 200 hours in XCOM...so almost a quarter of what I've spent on XCOM 2.  :)

Got flying in WoW, playing alts is a bit easier (and invasions are much easier now - XP's not as sweet as the Legion ones though).   Planning to start the new raid in LFR at least, which will be interesting and unpleasant.

Flying?

Two of my City of Villains characters do that. The third got teleport instead. It's just so nice to click on the horizon and appear there.

Unobtrusively informing you about my new ebook (which you should feel free to read and shower with praise).

Yeah, flying mounts. They've locked that away behind grinding achievements since WoD, I believe, as people complaiend it ruined the game (WoW players say everything does though).  Not too hard a grind, took me 3 weeks of half-assed grinding that wasn't overbearing.

Portal was not, being begged constantly to port people too lazy to even come to you for it.

Are you playing on a private server? I thought the game was closed down.

I always wanted to give that game a try

The game opened up on Private Servers open to the public.

Spoiler
1.) Download and install the Tequila client from the Titan network:

https://www.cohtitan.com/forum/index.php?topic=9531.0

OR the magnet link:

magnet:?xt=urn:btih:606490b92fc35d249abff9f00360302d0552e735&dn=coh

2.) Register an account on the score forums.

http://score.savecoh.com/

If the website is down do not panic, it is currently being bombarded by people who want to play the game just like you. Just wait a couple of minutes and try again.

3.) After you register for a forum account create a game account here:

https://score.savecoh.com/account/

** Run the app from the Tequila client. There are 3 options - pick "Homecoming"

Being European my characters are on Reunion (EU), naturally - more so since I used to play on Union back in the days.

Graphically the game hasn't aged all that well obviously. But the old mmo gameplay actually works.

I played Warlock. People would beg me to find other people to then summon them to various areas. Lazy.

I am curious if it would be worth creating a private Obsidian pve server for Conan Exiles. I am enjoying it as a single player experience, but it would be nice to share the space.
