Am I the only person who have positive things to say?
The game is great as it is. True, some things could have been done better, but these thing are not breaking the overall experience. I can only imagine were the franchise will go from here, given Obsidian has higher budget and no backers telling them what to do and how (I'm really happy they didn't listen to the demands of many of the backers in these forums).

Gametime, any way to see for how long you have played without Steam?
only reliable wayl: have a timer beside you, pausing it whenever you are not playing and record each session. Is it really so important for one to know how much he/she has played?

Resting bonus for having sex with a prostitute
Games are both fantasy and reality. Killing monsters and casting spells, for example, is fantasy. Prostitution (rest bonus for sleeping with prostitute) and nationalism (Dozens), for example, is reality. No matter how much fiction is in a game, when it deals with reality stuff, how the game takes it, matters.

Gladly buying a new PC for PE!
Well this game is not that demanding. I'm playing it on my 6-year-old computer and it runs like hell. I need an upgrade, obviously, but I'll do it for Dragon Age Inquisition and Witcher 3. No, Pillars runs well in old machines.

Thought/suggestion/request - Traps/secrets detactable out of sneak
I like crawling in stealth when in wilds and dungeons (pretty immersive!) but it's annoyin to do so in settlements. Thankfully they've added the "fast mode". But I'd like a passive secrets finding, true.

Pillars of Eternity Expansion/Sequel Wishlist
- Either voice the entire game or don't voice it at all. Partial voice-overs are a bit annoying. Although actors are great. For more "wants" I'll have to finish the game and see what is planned for the expansion. As we know, the expansion will be more stuff added to the base game, no continuation of the story, so many stuff I guess will be thrown in and we'll have the "full" Pillars experience.

I'm new to this whole "Wizard wearing armor" thing, can someone explain?
Sedrefilos replied to Baron_Bathory's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)Heavyer armor gives better protection but (all) your actions become slower. Is as simple as that. You can always echant your armor.

IE Veteran's feedback
IE combat seemed good back then when there was no other game played like that. After 15 years, IE combat sucks major ass. Having played BG2 last summer and IWD enhanced preveously, I can tell it is a great thing they didn't do it the same way. I really like this combat. It's fast-paced, the encounters are good, the abilities also and you can pin enemies down with the engagement mechanic which I like a lot. IE games were 15 years age. Time to move on.

Is Aloth wearing a meat shirt?
If the wizard is back and you have som emelee characters enagaged with opponents, most of the time is safe and ok. Try having a tank who is able to engage more than one opponents at a time. Helps a lot.

Simple Crafting System letdown ?
It is basic, simple and to the point. I like it since I don;t really bother with crafting in similar games.

Hard mode is too easy.
I play on normal and it is pretty challenging at times. Had my wipes here and there.

Your RPG system sucks!
Nah system is fine. Don't have much trouble with combat. I don;t find it even chaotic and super fast as many were saying all that time. The sneaky approach is a necessity, true, because of the old style view distance, which is my onlu concern and I hope they will chande on a later title. You should be able to see as far as eye goes not just 10 meters away.

Looking to start with Dual wield spears for Rogue.
You start new game and create a rogue character. Then, when you find/buy 2 spears, you equip him/her with those

Finding hidden items explained please
Does it even matter? You know mechanics is used for detecting hidden stuff. That's it. So just buff it. The only skill that would made sense would have been "familiarity with hidden mechanisms" for secret mechanisms and "prodigy detective" for hidden rocks etc. Like everything makes perfect sense in any rpg!

Good writing is good
Description is a cheap way to do cinematics. At least they are well written. Tbh, I'd like more a cut-scene, say, when you reach one's soul and look to the past, than a huge description. But, as I said before, at least they are well written. Dialogues is the beast part, though. Especially when attributes and skills kick in!

Unlimited rest option?
Rest spamming was my way to play BG too and it was so annoying I couldn't understand why should be built this way. The health/endurance system of Pillars is designed around having abilities "spent" (not using mana etc) but be meaningful about that. So resting while adventuring is limited. I like it alot tbh.

The one glaring problem I see in this game.
There are places that are quite hard in the biggining, like that bear cave were you first encounter it alone. The 2nd level of Eothas temple (there's were I've left the game last night) has a phantom at the begining that is a bit hard to take down, compared to the other monsters of the preveous dungeons. If someone has not played a combat like this in a while or didn't tried the beta out, could have difficaulties. Also, one may think that an entire region is designed for the level you currently are, but this is not true so this must be explained also.

PE and Metacritic madness
Others gave it a 0 because it wasn't infinity engine enough for them. When you play a game and it's just not for you, you just don't bother giving scores. If you play a game that's for you, but you didn't like it, that's when you, if you thing you should, post your revew/score. But most people that are self-defined as gamers are too much of duchebags to think about that

The one glaring problem I see in this game.
Try different strategies and abilities out. Maybe use scout mode when in dangerous environments so you know what you're facing before combat starts.

[minor spoilers] Please help me understand what I'm doing wrong
Some places are intended for higher levels indeed. If a palce is too hard for you, maybe you should move along and come back a bit later. Keep a personal note in your journal so you won't forget.

so no minimaps?
A minimap is always needed.

when do you found companions, maybe i missed one?
Bears will kick your ass if you try them alone. First two companions (warrior and wizard) are at first town, Guilded Vale. Good luck! And if you have the money and it's still tough for you, hire an adventurer at the Black Hound inn (talk to barwoman, also in Guilded Vale).
