  1. My Ender 5 Plus is an FDM printer. It uses a variety of plastics (mostly PLA variants) that are fed into a hot-end and the high temperature melts it as it basically draws an object layer by layer, building upwards. You get bigger build plates and can generally create larger items using that sort of FDM 3D printer (unless you're talking incredibly expensive equipment that straddles the line of uber-hobby / industrial). Which does give you the more traditional 3D printed thing (and the requisite print lines from the layer by layer heat, melt, draw, cool process). Aka: Resin 3D printers work with a liquid resin that gets stored in a vat under the buildplate, and use UV light and lasers to cure the resin, and do it upside down (compared to FDM printers). The build plate is drawn upwards, UV light is applied to cure the resin in the correct pattern for that layer, then it repeats until the object is finished. Note: Technically, this is the oldest form of 3D printing. But it was the FDM printers that really saw it developed as a craft-hobby that you could do at home. Because the resin printer can work in incredibly high definition, you can do a lot more really fine detail work that you don't have to worry about clean-up in the same way you do with FDM printers. You just have to go through additional steps of washing the printed object off of resin, and then set it to cure further under UV (either direct sun or basically a mini Tanning bed). While with the FDM printing, you tend to have a pause for sanding and filling in to smooth out the print lines. FDM is still somewhat cheaper as a hobby, but Resin printers and materials are beginning to match them price-wise. If you want something larger, and aren't too stressed on really fine details? FDM printer tends to be the thing. Smaller and incredibly detailed? That's where you go Resin printer. My plan is to use a combination of both to get what I want. I can slice something up so the bulk is FDM printer, and the detail parts are resin printed, then put it all together.

  2. So, I got some terrain and a nice playing area for games of Kill Team (skirmish games set in the 40K setting, I have a Veteran Guardsman team and an Ork Kommando team). But, building an Alpha Legion army for Horus Heresy, I'm going to need a larger playing area and the table in the garage/gaming room is too small for that game. Ordered the timber and boards necessary to build my own "overlay" to put on top of the table and give me a 4x6 foot gaming surface. IT people are not known for their practical skills, but anyone who has lived in Germany for any amount of time as a tenant, knows you can't do that without being (or becoming) a qualified kitchen builder I still have the power tools and everything else (including the experience) from those days, so I look forward to rolling up my sleeves and start building something suitable for Alpharius and his legion... It will probably be early next year before I have something worth taking pictures of, but then I'll if I can't get a pic or two of my legion.

  5. I stopped playing this about a year ago (bought it upon release). Was I think about halfway through chapter 2. Played exclusively TB, mind, which contributed to my experience. If there's one thing I'd change about Owlcat games is that they really really love their combat. None of WOTR was as bad as late-chapter Kingmaker. But I can still picture them going over all of their maps once finished, seeing empty spots, and placing paste&copy mobs there. Less (but more unique) would be so much more, it's unfunny. If their games had stats like the IE games or POE had, collecting the number of enemies slain, their numbers wouldn't be merely through the roof. They would be through the sky. (Nothing may ever come close to MM6 in that regard though). Will still continue playing at some point, mind. Enjoyed Kingmaker too (and enjoyed its initially more grounded narrative, WOTR is a power fantasy from the very start).

  6. The only way they could have proven there was no corruption was to do the right thing and award the WCs to England and the US! I'm always reminded of the situation when Australia was part of the Oceania Confed and constantly complained about not having the FIFA rep from it, eventually (partly) leading to them leaving for Asia. Oddly enough the non Australian rep corruptly distributed money to the other countries leading to him getting returned as rep all the time instead of honestly giving 90% to Australia as the most important country. Budweiser? What's the fuss about then, they weren't going to sell beer at the stadiums anyway.

  7. You can use most 3D modelling software. Cinema4D, 3Dmax etc. Or like me, going cheap and use Blender and Hexagon depending on what I'm doing. This creates a file (*.obj, *.stl or similar) which you process through a special (often printer specific) piece of software, where you "slice" the object you've modelled. I.e. it gets converted into those slices that gets added to the model every time it gets dipped in the vat (the last sentence sounds like cyberpunk meets fallout, I know). The vat is that little basin where the liquid resin is in. Depending on your printer, each "slice" will be a fraction of a millimeter thick, which is why printing larger things can take a while, as it only adds that fraction of a millimeter each time it gets dipped in the resin in the vat. There are websites out there too with tonnes of free (or cheap) ready made models to print out. E.g. I found some nice Adeptus Astartes shoulderpads at cults3d.com which I can use to replace some of the plain ones I already have (like one with a medic symbol on it)

  8. Slave labour worked to death over building new stadiums? Who cares. Repressive society? Who cares. Women's rights? Who cares. Minority's rights? Who cares. Corruption in the FIFA? Part of the game. No beer at the game? GET THE PITCHFORKS! Proper priority setting, amiright?

  10. You right, its not guaranteed. I can tell you one thing, it will be much easier to seize Russian assets within the EU once this is done and use that to rebuild and assist Ukraine Here is a link that summarizes this. But to quote some of the consequence of being on the EU terrorist list " The persons, groups and entities in this list are subject to both the freezing of funds and other financial assets, as well as enhanced measures related to police and judicial cooperation in criminal matters. Council regulation 2580/2001 provides for the freezing of all funds and other financial assets belonging to these persons, groups and entities. In addition, no funds, financial assets and economic resources can be made available to them, directly or indirectly " https://www.consilium.europa.eu/en/policies/fight-against-terrorism/terrorist-list/

  11. I meant the overall game mechanical focus on superhero-esque powers, in both your team and the enemies. Xcom1 felt more like you were controlling a group of soldiers. Chimera Squad and the Xcom2 DLCs felt more like fights from superhero movies.

  14. Lich ain't overrated, especially if you like playing spellcasters, because Lich spells ignore spell resistance. There's also neat stuff like feat that lets you do attribute damage when the spell hits, so combine, say, rays or selective area damage spell with it and oh my sweet sweet schadenfreude, say, how do you like your own tricks being used against you, game? Not so smug now, eh? And that's the reason I cannot stop making new Liches.

  16. I don't know what to say. This seems like a supermassive fail to me. Those twin-linked lascannons got completely absorbed by a single stack of sandbags? According to the Rogue Trader rulebook, page 246 sandbags has an AP of 8, a lascannon has a Pen rating of 10, and does 5d10+10 damage ontop of that. Unplayable, they need to go back to the drawing board with this.

  18. ken starr and john durham may have eliminated the point o' the special prosecutor. in both cases, the prosecutor appears to have indulged partisan theatrics. why is The People gonna think a special prosecutor is less corrupt than ___________? yeah, the special prosecutor is gonna be insulated a bit from a republican house demanding an end to investigations, so is not a complete waste. however, the notion somebody special is needed 'cause trump is now a Presidential candidate and *add some nonsense 'bout trust or transparency here 'cause we cannot bring our self to conjure up a real explanation* but given the stoopid o' starr and durham in particular, am unsure if the public sees special prosecutors as... special. so, point not found. HA! Good Fun!

  19. compared to most feedback we has seen, am having a slight different pov on combined spellbook angels and lich as well as trickster-- am not a fan. we got issues with story for lich and trickster, and angel is kinda too predictable to be enjoyable, but we got a serious issue with the mechanics o' the aforementioned mythics. from our pov, busted strong is no better than busted weak. choosing merged angel or lich, as well as trickster, is functional shifting the difficulty slider one or more places leftwards. and yeah, all the mythics may be designed to be overwhelming stongk, but angel, lich and trickster gameplay becomes kinda mindless mid-late game, which robs the game o' enjoyment for us. the problem is you cannot move the difficulty slider further to the right and make the game more fun for the angel, lich or trickster. on unfair, regardless o' your mythic path, there is a handful o' exploits and loopholes which you need indulge to progress. is a dreadful sameness to party composition and battles on unfair which we find soul numbing. that said, lich were also tough for us 'cause it were a bit too cackling and cartoony evhul and we were hoping for a pragmatic evhul option. however, is no question a merged spellbook lich is mighty powerful, so if you are looking for a build to roll-stomp all comers with little need to consider exploits or tactics when playing anything less than hard difficulty, then lich is gonna feel appropriately mythic indeed. HA! Good Fun! ps in the spirit o' full disclosure, we wanted to get through the inevitable excess dlc asap, so we did a merged spellbook angel run. we saw that particular dlc as a chore and the merged angel were an appropriate tool to complete the task.

  20. (This post includes a spoiler) This technically might not be a technical issue, so please be lenient or help me find a more appropriate place to report the issue. The problem I faced was that the journal's People tab spoiled the game for me. The entries I unlocked after meeting Eva Gertneryn and Otto Zimmerman for the first time on the very first day said that they're married to each other and have a son. So I did think it was weird that Eva would be back to her father's home working without her son and didn't take her husband's family name, but what do I know? Maybe it's 16th century Bavarian life. It wasn't until the second morning when the game clarified that they were courting that I realized the journal revealed a spoiler. Is this intentional? I'm confused. I'm attaching a screenshot of the journal entry.

  24. Apparently they also want to ban journalists from the WC... Of course, Danish journalists do have a tendency to not shut up and just report what they see. Freedom of expression may not be rooted in any Danish constitution, but you bet it's very deeply rooted in Danish culture https://www.theguardian.com/football/2022/nov/16/qatar-world-cup-organisers-apologise-after-threats-to-danish-television-crew https://www.bbc.com/news/av/world-europe-63655870 https://7news.com.au/sport/world-cup-soccer/qatar-world-cup-security-caught-threatening-to-destroy-danish-reporters-camera-on-live-tv-c-8882193 https://news.sky.com/story/qatari-security-threaten-to-break-danish-tv-crews-camera-during-live-pre-world-cup-broadcast-12748868 https://www.newsweek.com/danish-tv-live-broadcast-shut-down-qatar-world-cup-1760108 https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/sportsnews/article-11432775/Qatari-officials-threaten-DESTROY-Danish-reporters-camera-LIVE-TV.html https://www.reuters.com/lifestyle/sports/qatar-authorities-apologise-threatening-danish-film-crew-world-cup-2022-11-16/ https://www.timesnownews.com/world/qatar-officials-threaten-to-break-world-cup-reporters-camera-on-live-tv-issue-apology-later-watch-article-95574591 Yes, the WC is off to a "good" start, highlighting why it was a bad idea letting them buy the rights to host it.

  29. The Rogue Trader gameplay trailer somehow lacked the actual gameplay (combat system with UI, inventory and party management, conversations, etc.), but the animations look nice. I hope that optimisation will be better than in WotR and it will be a complete game in 1-2 months after the initial release (WotR is still in active development, judging by the bug fixes and paid content updates; at least, GOG protects from the forced updates). I probably expect too much from Owlcat, though.

  30. Adding wagon would be the first vehicle in the grounded. Can be easily transport weed stems and grass plank to different areas. Max it can hold is 20. Easily to be craft which would be acorn tops, weed stem, and ropes. Many more resources to craft it. But it would be first and helpful who want to build and transport items to different bases.

  31. I don't think I'd say that Republicans are evil. It's a lot more complicated than that and there are a lot of different forces at work here, some of them genuinely kind of evil but more just mostly borne out of a combination of different values, ignorance, intolerance, lack of empathy, tribalism, various kinds of frustrations and feelings of being transgressed against over a long period of time, and so on...and all of which apply to at least some degree to the other side as well. Being too strongly polarized for too long understandably tends to create feelings of animosity when it keeps resulting in each side pushing and transgressing more and more against the other. In real life, for my part, I almost universally pretend that I don't know the first thing about politics so that I mostly avoid hearing anything about it from anyone else, because frequently desiring to decapitate all the loud-mouthed morons in your life that just can't help but incessantly assert their stupidity, intolerance, and ignorance because it's apparently an incredibly critical part of their personality and identity to do so is just not a very good place to be if you can instead avoid it. Wanting to decapitate internet morons, on the other hand, now that's where you want to be. Bring out the virtual guillotine, folks! No, but really, I don't know where we go from here, because for as long as each side feels like the other is infringing upon them in whatever area that is sacred to (both of) them, the level of anger exhibited is only going to continue to rise. Predictably, it results in some degree of hatred, violence, and death...but how much in totality, where do we end up as a nation and society on the other side of it, and how does the overton window shift? I don't see any of this magically fixing itself, but maybe if we can wait out the baby boomer generation running its natural course without all hell breaking loose before then, then perhaps the worst of it can be avoided...maybe. I guess we'll find out in due time, won't we?

  32. that's the point. chances are many players would replay *add whatever unspecified span of time you deem appropriate* worth o' the game to fix their "mistake" with sosiel. is not a practical solution. choice and consequences has little value if gamers think they got treated unfair by the developers and resort to a mod to fix the perceived problem. yeah, more than a few players will reflexive mod out any bad selection, but for crpgs am suspecting many players is gonna try and attempt to adhere to whatever is their personal notion o' fair, as meaningless as is such a concept in a single-player game. HA! Good Fun!

I find it rather natural that artist wouldn't want to anger church, as they tended (and still tend) to be major source of work. He has some ideas, but is careful when and to whom he voices them. The game already passed a very important quality test:
