  1. Of course it is not the whole response. Interestingly, Russia appears to be postponing both the joining of the "four new areas" into Russia and the closing of its own borders. A Kremlin source is quoted as saying, "It is difficult to close the borders now. If it was done, thousands of security troops would be needed and frustrated people might try to get through, anyway. At the moment, we don't have enough security forces for this." (This from Meduza, reliability unknown -- but surely we'll see soon.) Btw, according to Russian propaganda, 99.92 percent of voters in Donetsk wanted to join Russia. Sure! EDIT, later: Very interesting new intelligence. 80% of Russian troops close to the Baltic countries and Finland have been taken to Ukraine. They're really going for it, and somewhat short on troops. And once again this demonstrates that outside propaganda, Russia has absolutely no fear of any NATO offensives.

  4. With a SC Wizard, you can get some good spells during the encounter vs Urnox ! You can steal with Major Grimoire Imprint 3 spells from the Rathun Flamecaller : The first, Magran Leaping Flame, is a PL6 evocation version of Firebug with 2 bounces (+ PL) that cause in AoE (1.5m) burn damage (10-16 vs reflex) per 3s for 20s. Bouncing primary attack is vs deflection and Interrupt on hit ; The second, Magran's Shield, is a PL6 evocation version of Flame Shield that cause to remove Might, Con or Dex (hazard) inspiration to the attacker. That can be casted on allie. The third, Blazing Staff, is a PL5 version of Concelhault's Draining Staff with Crush/Fire damage and cause -4 burn AR on hit (not-stackable). Can be summoned out of fight. For them they dont know how to keep permanently these spells, it is simple : with a grimoire that contain Major Grimoire Imprint (not learned by the wizard on level), steal the spell then switch to another grimoire give the spell for ever.

  5. at the risk o' failing the dreaded double-post faux pas, am gonna observe how after @Gorthmentioned his travails, we went back and played a considerable portion o' blackwater with a level 13 party on hard difficulty as well as core. maybe difficult to believe, but blackwater foes has been nerfed since the initial release. you may probable imagine how furious were fans with the imposi-hard blackwater at release. even so, on core, the sr and ac for blackwater foes is current a significant increase compared to any other similar placed act iii content. virtual every door opened in blackwater results in the equivalent o' a quasi boss encounter. one BIG suggestion we forgot to add earlier were the spamming glitterdust. the conjuration spell is second level, ignores sr and requires a will save. results in the blinded debuff on a failed save. blackwater foes have terrible will saves and blinded diminishes ac by 2, reveals the frequent invisible foes and robs enemies o' their dex bonus to ac. can be a huge difference maker for a cheap spell which may be heightened. keep in mind other lower level conjuration and druid transmutation spells which ignore sr such as web and entangle. such spells is best if modified with the selective metamagic feat, but even w/o select, if you are careful you should be able to make use o' those sorta spells. nenio's phantasmal web will be impacted by sr, but she should be able to overcome most sr with gear and both o' the spell penetration feats. is another fantastic crowd control spell. regardless, do not overlook glitterdust. ... and one other consideration: you do not need to fight the demons in the circular lava room in the circular lava room. what we mean is that you may lure 'em back through the doors you spent so much effort opening. fight 'em at a doorway is often a decent alternative. HA! Good Fun! ps am not certain how you built your court poet, but azata bards is extreme viable as enchantment casters. best jokes power combined with the azata spells which boost mind effects dc and the gear we mentioned earlier is another way to virtual sleepwalk your way through blackwater.

  7. I think, at the start, it was the same issue as with the tanks, but they got first 4 and then another 4. Currently IIRC they are using 12 HIMARS units. So some kind of logistics must have been prepared before the first 4 arrived. IMHO the big factor in not giving HIMARS to UA right away was big fear, that it really escalates the conflict. But as soon as most of the western heads visited Irpin, Bucha and Hostomel, they rhetorics about escalation changed. Also due to Romania having HIMARS already deployed since february 2021. There is already existing maintenance infrastructure with servicemen very close to Ukraine, and I think this also played a role in deploying it. The westenr tanks on the other hand: Bulgaria - 0 Czechia - first 14 Leopards will arrive soon as a reimbursement for Soviet tanks donayed to Ukraine this year Hungary - 44 + 12 Leopards still on order, not delivered yet Romania - 0 Slovakia - 0 (IIRC 15 will be delivered at some point as a replacement for BMPs donated to Ukraine. Poland - 180 Korean K2s ordered, 116 M1 Abrams delivered soon as a replacement for Soviet tanks donated to Ukraine, 249 Leopards already there. So only Poland has at the moment capacities to service western tanks, and only Leopards. And because they are German tanks, well, we all already know how theie current willingness there looks like. They are willing to reimburse NATO allies for donation of Soviet tanks to Ukraine, but not willing to made that last required step yet. Every other western tank model has no maintenance infrastructure in the immediate vicinity of Ukraine (unless something classified happened in the kast 7 months). EDIT: IMHO the Kharkiv Oblast liberation might have made some countries more willing to deliver some tanks to UA, than before, so I believe (my personal feeling, which I cannot back with any data) there are already some hard talks going on about these deliveries. And the current nuclear blackmail and Nordstream situation, might accelerate it further.

  8. Why would you do that? It is Ember and Nenio in the party, not either Ember or Nenio. Well, I always replace Nenio with a BFT mercenary, but that's just the cheeseball in me. Nenio is more than enough for a run on normal. It works as designed as long as enemies have regeneration, they are unkillable unless you stop it, just like trolls in (A)D&D games, like BG2 or IWD. You have an inspect feature in the game, by the way, that shows you all conditions and buffs that affect enemies, it is usually accessed by pressing 'y' and hovering over the enemy in question, but you can also click the inspect icon (magnifying glass icon in the lower row). It will also tell you which sort of damage you need to apply to stop regeneration. When it comes to electrical damage, random encounters should have given you a bunch of Shock Composite bows around the area, so turning regeneration off should work well enough with Arueshalae. Don't forget to apply Ranger's Bond, that's another AB boost for your party, and consider retraining her. If you went for a level of Vivisectionist for the mutagen, give her levels of Mutation Warrior instead, she can cast Sense Vitals anyway. Mutation Warrior will give her access to the mutagen and more feats. Right idea, wrong class. Edit: Unintuitive design/exploit that needs to be mentioned: if you have feats you want to take but do not fulfill stat point prerequisites, you cannot circumvent the requirements with limited time buffs before the level up, however, permanent buffs work. Feel free to drop a +DEX belt on your animal companions to give them the Dodge feat, for instance. The feat will still be there after removing it.

  9. It is designed as a boss fight ability. The relevant part is that even Vs Res resistant it still cuts the target from its offensive abilities (as well as res and PL malus). With BPM the duration is super long, by far the longest hard cc of the game. Also worth mentioning that cipher isn't the "Terrify specialist" class. Terrify affliction is still limited to this spell for him. But Cipher is extremely flexible with what he can cast, especially as an Ascendant, while Wiz Tier 5 is kind of crowded (Llengrath Safeguard, Spiritlance, etc...). Edit : it also helps that cipher has a fair number of passive abilities to support such kind of spell. +10 accuracy to spell Vs will, +15% affliction duration, etc...

  11. As SC Stormspeaker chanter, Tekehu have acces to The Ranga (Avenging Storm), and with some equipments he become the most eloquent chanter. 🗲 Tekehu 🗲 Stats of Tekehu : 12-10-14-10-17-15 The equipment needed : Acina's Tricorn (+5acc with ranged attack, work for most of the spells including AS) Footprint's of Ahu Taka (+2dex, +10% healing done) Ring of the Marksman (+4acc to corrupted Beauty) Kuaru's Price (+1per & +1int) Firethrower's Gloves (+2dex ) The Giftbearer's Cloth (especially with an imported Sasha's sabre to get 2 Sabres) Torc of the Falcon's Eyes (+2per) Least Unstable Coil Blightheart Sasha's Singing Scimitar (Encore & Shocking Prelude(universal lash) ) & The Weyc's Wand Sasha's Singing Scimitar (imported, Refreshing Finale) Robes of the Weyc * In first time, killing an enemy with Blightheart trigger Corrupted Beauty in AoE around Tekehu, that can be prolonged, and because it is not restricted to combat that can be cheesed with Strand of Favor to a permanent effect. Once Corrupted Beauty is active, empowering The Ranga with the second weapon set cause to Tekehu to have, when there is at less 1 enemy at melee range (Corrupted Beauty is 1.8m radius), every 3s: The Ranga in AoE (corrupted Beauty), then : Brilliant for allies in AoE (Robe of the Weyc) Current recovery skipped (The Weyc's Wand) Refreshed +3PL (The Weyc's Wand) New Chant (Robe of the Weyc) +7 phrases (Encore) +14% action speed bonus and universal shock lash (applied to the ranga) (shocking prelude) tier- 3 inspiration(s) refreshed (depending of how many enemy are at range), then : AoE interrupt (corrupted Beauty & the Ranga, Chants, when crit) and Tekehu Stats are now : 17-15-24-18-23-20 , with +5acc (tricorn) and +4acc (3PL and brilliant) for most of spells and +9acc for Corrupted Beauty. With Each kill Fed His Fury (+5 to Might, resolve and constitution, stack with the Lesat Unstable Coil inspirations) the stats are : 22-20-24-18-23-25. That mean every 3s, Tekehu can cast His Heart Did Fill for long fight, or everything else (including The Ranga when his duration is almost over, and the spell is still Empowered). Once per combat, switching to the third set (Sasha's Scimitar with Refreshing Finale) for a Corrupted Beauty pulse allow to use Tekehu as Lord of the Storm in any fight. * Boras as Watcher Pet help a lot (+5acc with spells for party). Immunities provided by Captain's Banquet prevent interrupt and the loosing of PL, ect. Ocean's Song at Tikawara transform The Ranga into Interrupting Attack (at less on graze). The potion of Spacial Alacrity work, like Alcina's Tricorn, for most of spells and compensate Dex and Per. Of course the Weyc's items and the Least unstable Coil are great with a lot of characters (SC Druid or SC Priest on the top of the list for me) but to get 7phrases per 3s for a chanter is really strong.

  12. even six months ago Gromnir woulda' waved off the possibility o' an overt biased district judge angling for a scotus appointment, but it is a brave new world. admitted the more likely scenario for judge cannon is that she takes a high paying fox news gig, but am getting tired of being wrong 'bout what is implausible... and keep in mind Gromnir is the guy constant chastising folks for pretending as if trump couldn't or wouldn't do the previously unimaginable. am recognizing how there is always gonna be a marjorie taylor greene or mark meadows... or worse. even so, the only positive we saw from the post 2020 election meltdown were that while traditions and norms meant nothing to elected officials and ordinary americans, federal judges were uniform and lock-step opposed to overt efforts to overthrow democracy, with the possible and noteworthy exception o' clarence thomas. regardless, we warned people time and time again that trump would set the republic on fire if he thought it were to his advantage, or if he believed he could get away with doing so while exacting vengeance 'pon those he deemed disloyal. we berated the naivety o' those who saw january 6 as some kinda proof american democracy had an would always stand firm and resolute. ... wake up knowing am daniel plainview, only to discover am eli sunday. fudge. 13. Indeed. But my main worry was that it could consume the "Stunning Surge" OneHit charge if the first pellet only grazes or hit. But apparently, it does not... somehow. OneHitUse seems to apply to the whole attack. Then the duration is indeed the key to prevent it from happening twice. Funky thing is that if your second attack happens slower than the duration ellapses (with very Low INT and DEX), maybe you can get double refund. Not sure if it is possible to make a build around this, but if someone can, that's you

  19. Sadly Im reaching the end of my BG2 EE journey, I have just killed the nefarious Bodhi and taken her black heart from her remains. I enjoyed killing her finally ..she deserved to die Highlights of the game so far include (outside of the side quests I mentioned earlier ) The Underdark experience : Great fun, I completed several side quests that included freeing the souls of trapped insane people and rescued the Svirfneblin boy and killing the despicable Illithid Master Brain. I also let Solaufein live which worked out nicely for me when he provided fake Silver Dragon eggs and I betrayed both Matron Mother Ardulace and Phaere and gained some nice XP and items. I also had a great Romance interlude with Phaere After leaving the Underdark I went to settle the score with Firkraag and that was an epic battle which I won on the third attempt I wish they had included more Underdark races and exploration but its a memorable part of the game I am now on my way to Suldanessellar with the lantern, exciting times. I am thinking of completing Watchers Keep in ToB?

  20. That may explain why it seems to perform unperfectly (althought I usually get the refund). The -10 Accuracy isn't great in this case. And for mortars ? Do you need it to crit on main target ? Edit : Gotcha. It's coded as "if first attack that doesn't Miss is a Crit, you win" Miss -> See you next bullet Graze -> Your 2 guiles are spent Hit -> Your 2 guiles are spent Crit -> Your 2 guiles are won back Therefore, you can expect Blunderbusses to perform slightly better since Misses are quite forgiving. Hit are often transformed due to Gambit Hit to Crit, but Graze and you loose.

  22. HA! is just one reason why we never take you serious. take a look in the mirror with the passive aggressive silliness... is nothing passive 'bout us, but you take to cartoon levels o' silly at times when you feel offended. and keep in mind you are the one who got on her high horse and started throwing around the personal attacks. so, feel free to go back to photo modding every other game evar while simultaneous pretending surprise and indignation when @majesticsuggests you like photo mode features. *insert eye roll* wanna do personal in the future? take to private. sheesh. ... am feeling sheeepish mentioning, but the prone condition, while providing a penalty to the ac o' the victim insofar as melee attacks, gains a bonus to ranged. HA! Good Fun! ps (edit) @Gorth we did reload a level 13 party (aeon dual wielding inquisitor) and the mind fog + greater command: halt works exceeding well in blackwater. the one hurdle is sr of foes. you should have spell penetration and greater spell penetration on your main spell casters, but is possible you went more melee for sosiel. if so, be sure to use his luck domain powha if you are not cheesing the fortune hex exploit as the extra rolls to overcome sr will be a big help. on the positive side, selective and heightened grease is gonna ignore sr regardless, but then obvious you are not able to take advantage o' the sucky will save aspects o' foes. maybe if you take shadow conjuration as one o' your level 7 spells for nenio... if you went full illusionist for her, you should beat reflex saves o' the tougher blackwater enemies. the dc for her shadow conjuration: grease is gonna be based on nenio's illusion school dcs and is possible to have better than 30 dc for level seven illusion spells at level 13.

  23. When the staff strike with burn attack, the ring of Focused apply +10acc, but not 1pen with Scion of Flame. The debuff is cool for fire attack in general because that stack with everything. About the Magran Leaping Flame, the 20s status effect on enemies is not a DoT but a fire pulse around them, like Spark of the Soul on enemies! I dont know if someone have already try to cast SotS on enemies while confused, but I did and it is crazy ; here it is the regular way the attack work! There is also another spell that can be stealed from other Rathuns (icy ones from SSS) : Freezing Bolt , evocation, freeze, PL7. Here, the salva (AoE) pulse every 0.1s for 0.3s with 20Int. It is less efficient than Magran Leaping Flame and SSS is accessible later than Urnox.

  24. No, tanks is not much taboo, than logistic and mechanical issue. Poland was able to give Ukraine 200 tanks, because they were all Soviet Ear tanks, and Ukraine has already very big repair/mechanical/service infrastructure, to take care of them. On the other hand, giving few hundred NATO manufactured tanks would require not only training for riding it, but also training for servicing them, and in many cases, that would need thenpresence of NATO trainers in Ukraine. Few dozens HIMARS, CEZARs, Zuzanas, or PH2000 can be serviced outside of UA. Which is already done in Poland and Slovakia, and most likely Romania as well. For hundreds of tanks, IMO that would be bordering with unsustainability for logistics, unless as I’ve said, NATO people would be present in Ukraine. Which could be seen as direct involvement and escallation. I bet, that NATO is already working on solving that, but unless Russia would cross the red line tomorrow, I do not see to happen that overnight.

  26. level 13? try dropping a mind fog on the augments and then have sosiel cast greater command: halt. should effective render most/all foes in the room ineffective for thirteen rounds. kill the baddies one at a time with finnean + an adamantine weapon. HA! Good Fun! ps if you killed blightmaw, it dropped a ring which boosts enchantment spell dc by +2. the jeweler in drezen sells the amulet of clarity which boosts the dc o' mind affecting spells by +2. dazzling display, even w/o a thug to cause fear, will result in shaken debuff which further lowers will saves by -2. pps @Gorth am recalling you already completed the ivory sanctum, so you shoulda' picked up one o' the best items in wotr: the quarter staff of the war mage. grants +4 for caster level to overcome sr and adds +2 to the dc o' spells cast.

  28. ah, so @majesticwere wrong 'cause he didn't account for the fact lc is a true auteur o' photo mode. for a connoisseur o' in-game image captcha, wotr is so obvious inferior raw material and it is borderline insulting to suggest lc would be intrigued by a wotr-specific photo mode feature. ... works better as a joke as 'posed to serious. we noticed the leopard were also suffering busted # of attacks similar but not same as does the elk. am suspecting any critter which gains trip and has multiple different types o' attacks is suffering a bug. elk has hooves and gore, but only a single gore attack registers regardless o' level. we created a leopard and it only benefitted from a single bite attack no matter the level, but it also gained two claws... so not exact same as elk. in spite o' the lack o' new features, am suspecting is gonna be a bunch o' new stuff busted in wotr tomorrow. as an aside, am aware from the interweb the new dlc may be accessed in act iii, but neither @InsaneCommanderor @Gorthhas mentioned, so am s'posing is only available late act iii. am only wondering 'cause in spite o' Gromnir tendency to start a new game with each iteration o' fresh content, it don't appear as if much material has been added previous to act v, with the exception o' the dlc. am kinda thinking our next wotr happens with a pre existing character somewhere in act iii. as for blackwater tips 1) enemies is vulnerable to electricity. electricity not only does considerable damage but it interferes with augment's regeneration... or at least it should. 2) blackwater enemies, for the most part, have poor will saves. unfortunately they have good fortitude saves so phantasmal killer is less likely to work. however, if you got sosiel in the party, do not hesitate to use greater command frequent, preferable with mind fog active. 3) finnean is a hot knife v. butter for blackwater. finnean is gonna ignore most o' the augment's armour. give finnean to your heaviest hitter and he will destroy blackwater foes. 4) adamantine weapons interfere with augment's regeneration and bypasses dr. greybor's hand axe and soul shear is adamantine. as for the not obvious buff spells for bab (prayer, heroism, divine power, etc.) other than "use finnean," most tips we got will be useable beyond blackwater. selective spell o' grease (heightened is preferred) and scirocco is gonna be huge benefits, 'cause prone foes not only cannot attack you while prone, but they take a significant ac penalty as well as presenting you with attack of opportunity... opportunities? animal companions with trip is also winners. if you are having problems, the fortune hex exploit is a serious benefit. ember or camellia with fortune and cackle means you may have all your combatants benefit from two d20 rolls for each attack. what level are you currently? edit: am asking 'bout level 'cause it sucks to get advice which is one or two levels away from being useful. HA! Good Fun! ps --possible obvious, but maybe not, size bonuses to strength or dex stack with enhancements, so reduce person will improve archer or finesse wielder chances to hit, but unfortunately it will reduce damage of weapons used. make characters and animal companions larger will add a size bonus to strength... and big weapons do more damage too. --also, the madness domain is an option, particular when facing foes who deal pure physical damage from weapons or natural attacks. --try and cast bless weapon on as many weapon havers as possible. bless weapon is a low level spell but it guarantees a successful crit check. -- don't forget animal companions may coup de grâce

  34. Believe me, I want to be wrong. It's just that we already know the game has at least once changed design lead and restarted development. The complete radio silence we've experienced for quite a while now also doesn't exactly inspire confidence. The track record of games that have gone through development hell speaks for itself. There are exceptions, examples of games that have gone through development hell and emerged as good games, but they are just that, exceptions. I will be so happy to eat my words if Obs proves me wrong. Until then, Avowed is dead as far as I'm concerned.

  35. Nuclear weapons experts have been saying this about Russia's nukes for quite some time, and including back in the Soviet days. But ultimately, even if 99 out of a hundred of Russia's nukes "fail" for whatever reason, what does that matter if one works? This is why it was believed the Soviets built up such a huge arsenal, and had dozens of warheads targetted on each US nuke asset, because they themselves did not trust the techinal efficacy of their own systems. But, relatedly, one awesome silver lining to this war on the US/NATO side is that our battlefield intelligence systems have proven to be excellent, both technically and operationally, specifically US/NATO electronic and signals intelligence, warfare, and countermeasures capabilities.
