If your friend is feeling depressed, watch something happy and optimistic like Ergo Proxy.4 points

Saru-Sichr is already knew as a great weapon because of the DoT : every instance trigger on a new apply of the DoT, that mean at less on graze. But the effect is a melee weapon effect, the DoT roll cause the Mage Slayer 's Spell Disruption on apply, so 100%chance to fail with spells with two strikes. Also, each new instance proc a lightning from Avenging Storm, as you can see in the combat log below. This is the first strike i made on Birta (l. 6), followed by the first DoT apply (l.5), then HbD (l4), new DoT (l3), Swift Flurry (l2) and the last graze from DoT (l1). And Avenging Storm proc 6 times. I tried also vs a cre_dummy, to see the effect more later, and when there is 10 ticks already active, a new hit cause 12 lightnings. Etc. Edit : the multiple Avenging Storm proc from SF/HbD , but twice because of the DoT rolls. Of course that doesnt work against poison immune enemies, but it is really strong.3 points

https://www.pbs.org/newshour/show/turkey-president-erdogan-on-russias-invasion-of-ukraine-and-the-future-of-nato Not sure about the quality of the translation ("will" seems to be rather, ahm, optimistic, I suppose), but regardless, it looks like Putin's 'friends' are unhappy with the way his little conflict is interfering with their economic interests. Guess that was really supposed to be over long before winter. Of course, the good old Bosporussian (although in light of these comments, I probably should start looking for a new nickname) also drops this fun hypocrisy bomb: He kind of missed the footnote "unless it's against Kurds" I suppose.3 points

@Azdeus get your friend to watch Sailor Moon with you. But for the love of god do NOT watch Sailor Moon Crystal or the films based on it. Ugh. Also get her to post here then. Please? Pretty please?3 points

Ah yes, his name was Robert Paulsen. I would have staked pretty much anything that Anomen's VA was Raphael Sbarge same as Carth/ Skye*/ Kaiden. Oh well, Mandela Effect strikes again I guess. Or maybe Nelson Effect if it was just me. I rather like Ashley. Somewhere between KOTOR and JE I got really tired of Bioware's archetypes and she doesn't really fit any of their tired tropes or attempts at Whedon style quirkiness. She's also, for want of a better term, one of the more realistic companions in Bioware's games full stop both in terms of motivations and dialogue. *not played by Raphael Sbarge either, naturally.3 points

My friend was a little depressed and lonely so she invited me over to watch anime, so I bought some of her favourite icecream for her and sat down and watched The Demon Girl Next door season 1 and 2. I'm quite shocked how enjoyable it was!3 points

Consumables? They're for counting up at the end so I can complain about how badly balanced the game is and how I never needed to use any (except potions of clarity etc vs illithids and antimagic scrolls to cheese optional fights). When it comes to Anomen I'm with Bartimaeus. There is no argument for him which can overcome the monumental negative of being Anomen. I would however take both Jaheira and Viconia. Plus Jan, Imoen and Edwin. Then again my main criterion is people whose chirps don't make me want to stick skewers through my ear drums. Apropos of nothing also got a bit further into Pathfinder: WotR. Interesting NPC selection there, can see why they strongly suggest going for a fighter since the only recruitable meatshield I've met is Seelah. Who's also the only one who is remotely normal. Does literally everyone else have to have a quirky backstory, strange mannerisms and weird class? That's one of the worst things that Bioware style games have brought us. Still, black woman paladin married to a female half orc manages not to be a hopeless cliché in execution, so thumbs up there. There aren't really any hybrid (front line, to exclude Lann) fighters either apart from Camellia- and yeah. Also 'nice' to see that the tradition of annoying characteristic draining enemies has been maintained. [yes, I am aware of the irony of having a Jaheira/ Viconia/ Jan (haha lol)/ Imoen/ Edwin party in BG2 and complaining about companions in another game being over quirky]3 points

That is also the reason why it's absolutely devastating with Swift Flurry/Heartbeat Drumming by the way. While Effort's Hemmorhaging doesn't trigger Swift FLurry, Poison-Dipped does! It' seems to be a self-reinforcing effect because SF/HBD will add more stacks which in turn might make it a lot more likely to trigger SF/HBD? Can't imagine the interplay with Avenging Storm (funnily enough I didn't test that ). What I can confirm is that the second attack roll from poison dipped will trigger SF/HBD. I don't know if the triggering of the additional DoT stacks does trigger it, too. SF/HBD triggers a ton with the weapon though. You can add Hylea's Talons and the Ring of Molded Flesh for more melee effects - but they don't trigger SF/HBD - at least that was my impression after some hours of running tests with Saru Sichr in the last week in preparation for a new run. Also the DoT lasts a really long time which is cool. It superseded Willbreaker as my favorite Monk/Berserker weapon. What I haven't tried is if an Essential Phantom's stacks with Saru Sichr will get triggered by a hit from my Wizard who's also using Saru Sichr. Guess not, but not sure. If so then Sage with Saru Sichr would be great, too. PS: Poison-Dipped also triggers a Resonant Touch.2 points

The thing that makes a SC Paladin pretty good is Divine Retribution - but only if you have lots of summons in the party... like you have. Especially a Troubadour with Many Lives Pass By + Brisk Recitation can produce lots of summons: 1 very weak skeleton every 3 secs which stay for quite some time with enough INT and PL. If any summon is killed (by whomever) then your Paladin will receive 2 Zeal. I played an SC Kind Wayfarer with this and as soon as he got to PL9 I could spam everything I had because the Zeal was coming in faster than I could spend it in a meaningful way. Casting Brand Enemy on all enemies, giving every party member all sorts of Exortations and other instant stuff, healing of course - and using Shared Flames all the time to buff party member's damage and heal them, too. PS: If you want to revive the Paladin marker builds from PoE times you can use Ring of Focused Flame, Zealous Focus and the Blade of the Endless Paths with the fitting enchantments, wear the Cap of the Laughingstock (probably disable the display which can be done with the eye button over the head slot on the character sheet) and spam Shared Flames against a high deflection enemy.2 points

Yes, it is the same thing than Effort do, so I dont know about Skald or Swift Flurry concordence to poison dipped itself. It is really strong for Stormspeaker or SC druid, but also for others with the helm or scrolls! I'm going to try the synergy with some gloves2 points

Not yet... but then I'm only partway through Act III. Ambushed the dragon that Greybor wants as a trophy over his fireplace and next step is to follow the blood trails. Too me forever to find them on the map That said, a Tricksters army has some interesting elements to it Not to mention the spell selection2 points

I might try it sometime I doubt she'd enjoy it though, she tolerates riding in my car because I drive her for free. She hates cars and racing. She absolutely loves Sailor Moon, I tried watching it and I cringed so hard that my brand new computer chair couldn't take it and two of the metal lumbar supports broke. I don't think I can afford buying her a new couch Getting her to post her would absolutely ruin the music thread, can't have that, also she'd spam the TV-thread about LA by night or NY by night and such I don't think she'd mind, she likes Ghost in the Shell. I think I'd like it more from the TV-tropes description.2 points

Well, litteral translation from French failure. <Setting the curseur too high> is a synonymous to setting the bar too high Or setting the limbo bar too low, I guess. I'm sure it can work. But also I went with a party of SC Berath Priest, SC Paladin, SC Rogue (a bit waiting for Gambit/Vanishing Strike), Psion/Troubador, and a melee Ranger/Rogue. This party might have too much support, even if it is probably not THAT poorly designed. Berath Priest is annoyed by this particular fight because it deals damage sthrough Fire and Acid, and each half of the naga force is immune to one of this element.... That's a bit the point. It's not only about having troubles, but evaluating how much I have compared to standard play. I have rarely felt so powerless than yesterday from a certain time. I mean, challenge is a good thing. But it's also about evaluating how much other player could feel. The mod should not be too frustrating. But you know what is said about difficulty in CRPG... I guess after a few fights and a bit of money, one can feel very comfortable because of the access to all equipment indeed.2 points

I think it's because we tend to forget about it. At least I did for a while, then you see those reports again and everything comes back. It's like with those Kadyrovs ... you forget they are even a thing, then you see in the news that they send civilians into a minefield and laughed about the explosions. We want to be the better people and don't behave like that, but man, after hearing what they constantly do to others, I'm not sure if I could be strong enough to not just shoot them on the spot if I were in that situation. Really have to keep reminding yourself that the war will end sooner if you don't butcher the enemy and thus make them surrender more easily.2 points

Redline was also the very first thing that Sarex recommended to me when I mentioned that I was watching an anime for the first time in my life, specifically Sailor Moon from the early 1990s. Redline is a 2009 action-racing film that's positively dripping with masculinity...which is to say, it was the complete opposite of what I was currently enjoying in the more silly and girly Sailor Moon, and so while it would've been bad for me even in the best of times, it was an utterly miserable experience in that particular context. Suffice to say, it took me a few more tries of things Sarex recommended for me to realize that we perhaps do not quite see eye to eye on what is either meaningful or entertaining in shows/movies, . But I'm me for a reason, so maybe Azdeus would fare better...2 points

Although in the wake of current war efforts, in the case of Russians, especially behind the Ural, starting Mandarin classes would be considered as a highly rational act2 points

I believe the plan is to just rebadge it to 'King's Birthday' holiday and carry on. I was, for a moment, hopeful we might get a double dip by moving it to a King's Birthday on King Charles' actual birthday in November. Ah well. I shall be spending my 'day of mourning' sleeping in and playing video games, most likely. Someone obviously hasn't seen The Wizard of Oz. (To be fair, neither have I.)2 points

I'm sure Viconia with her whip and leather boots will make sure the guys don't get much sleep at night, so yeah, more rest more often2 points

Just a suggestion... play the game multiple times and try out both options. It does play a bit different during the middle part of the story. Also, no less than 3 romances for a guy character, there should be something to your liking there. Romances carry over to the dlc/expansion (Throne of Bhaal) iirc. Edit: As usual, the female gamers gets shafted badly by a single romance option, with a cringe worthy guy, who is as awful as any female romance option in any video game of that age (give or take ten years).2 points

Here's another one of those hard-to-believe pieces of news. I mean, it's not hard to believe that Wagner is recruiting 1,500 prisoners, as it fits the agenda perfectly, but this is odd:1 point

last time we serious checked were 2013 and at that time it were still technically illegal for a citizen o' the uk to suggest the abolishment o' the monarchy. the only reason am aware o' such is 'cause in the early 90s we saw a guy get arrested in hyde park for his public demand o' an end to the monarchy. were a bit shocking to see such happen and so we periodic checked if the law remained valid. given the national mourning current underway, we has been embracing uncharacteristic restraint, but am thinking @Gorth would be unsurprised to learn we got a few thoughts on monarchies and monarchs. HA! Good Fun!1 point

For me it always only hits 2 additional targets (despite the decription). In the unmodded game I mean. It works quite nicely for a non-Berserker, unconfused Barbarian who wants to utilize Blood Thirst in combination with skeletons - because the "AoE" of Whai Poraga does friendly fire you will absolutely also kill summoned skeletons with it which leads to 0 recovery. And since it only hits 2 additional targets around you no all skeletons get "wasted" at once but one after the other feeds your Blood Thirst. But it's a bid sad that a "smart" Barbarian doesn't boost the AoE size: because it's fixed. A 1-INT char has the same radius with Wahai Poraga as an INT-35 character.1 point

it used to be a lot worse in earlier patches. the shock damage one could wipe entire parties out. the big problem is that you don't get anything out of wild mind (aside from the cheese constentin just discovered). all the wild-mage-style classes i can think of it in my experience have other benefits, and the variability is considered the drawback, not the defining feature. and the effect is a symmetry that's very hard to break to your advantage (again, aside from the cheese just discovered). even with the shock damage nerf, as an example i think "target becomes invisible" effect can be extremely bad for a fight, especially if it triggers on an aoe. that means casters you can't interrupt, free sneak attack or other attacks from enemies, it could foul up spells/effects you have cast that are already in motion. even if it happens to you, an unexpected invisibility can be bad, since this invisibility also means untargetability. i've literally gotten a KO because the invisibility hit an ally and it made a support spell whiff (i forget if it was a heal or a suppress affliction, but it was a DoT that i missed the window to counteract)1 point
