DoT, as status effects, are not affected by crit for their damages but their durations. They are affected by Might however. Even if they come from weapon or spell, they are not affected by bonus damage to weapon or spells. Because their damages cant crit, bonus for crit damages are useless too for them. Only generic damage bonus,PL bonus and Pen bonus (see in comments) can work, for exemple : High Harbinger's Robes provide +10% damages (for self's DoT) Thaos' Headdress give +5% damage vs flancked (self) Crucible token , 15% vs designed enemy (self) Xoti's Lantern (Threshing Aura), <20% damage (everyone) Baubles of the Fin, +3% (everyone) Shattered Vengeance (Shards of Woedica) up to 25% taken (multiple effects can be obtain with summon by the way) (the list of items giving some PL bonus is below) Maybe I forgot some other items, and some others are specialized : Dire Talon : Tooth and Claw ( +10 cc and damage against beast) is universal Aamiina Legacy : Slayer of Beasts (+10 Accuracy and damage against Beasts) is universal Wicked Beast : Wild Heart (+15% damage against Beasts) is universal Amaliorra : Ash and Dust (+10 acc against Vessels) is universal Amaliorra : Innevitable Decay (+20% damage against Vessels) is universal Whispers of Yenwood : Soul Cutter (+20% Damage and +15 Acc against Spirits) is universal Bane Spirit (+20% damage against spirits) is universal (from the Spoil of Caed Nua Mod) There are also some abilities and passives that can increase the DoT damages : Takedown Combo (ranger) give +100 damage until a new direct attack that deal damage (for everyone's DoT) Hunter's Fang (ranger) < to 20% vs the enemies race (self) Sworn Enemy (and upgrades, paladin), +20% damage vs designed enemy (self ) Inspired Beacon (paladin), +40% damage (everyone ) Blooded (barbarian), +25% damage when bloodied (self ) Wilder Hunter (barbarian), +25% damage vs wilder (self ) Fighting Spirit (human), +15% damage when bloodied (self) Death's Usher (death godlike), +20% damage vs near death (self) Infamous Captain (Watcher) +5% damage (self) Ascended (Ascendant) +3 cipher PL, +20% damage (self) Resting Bonus : Bloody Mess (The Kraken Eye, if you choose violence for resolve The Better Man) +10% damage (self) Cleansing Flame (SC priest or scrolls) +100% tick rate during the effect All these bonus are working on current and further DoT, and are not anymore effectives when over (Blooded, Fighting Spirit, etc) For PL bonus, there are many way to gain some PL, from subclasses, races (godlikes), weapons, trinckets, ect. Considering only Generic PL, I made previously a topic about this, that take into account the scaling rules : https://forums.obsidian.net/topic/126420-prestige-enchantment-the-scaling-transcendant-suffering-overview/ For Keyworded PL, every bonus stack on top of generic PL but not from two same weapons (2 Sun and Moon allow +2PL, not 4, and 1 Sun and Moon + 1 Magran's Favor allow +4PL). By the same way, Acute and Brilliant from items seems to stack 1 PL with "ordinary" acute and brilliant. I'm not really sure because, when these effects are stacking, in the Character menu the second inspiration mention only the name of the inspiration, not the bonus (like ordinary). Lance of the Midwood Stag (Lord of the Forest) +2PL (generic) while under a plant status effect (self) Wicked Beast (Wild Heart) +2PL for Beast KW The Spine of Thicket Green (empowering Instincts)+3PL for Beast KW or (empowering Lifeblood) +2PL for Plant KW Magran's Favor (Fiery/Blazing Core) +2PL for Fire KW Sun and Moon (Celestial Attunement) +2PL for Fire KW (day) The Weyc's Wand (after empowering something) +3 generic PL Spider Silk Robe (Poison Master) +2 Poison KW PL (require BPM to work) Mask of the Grotto Deep +2Poison KW PL (Require BPM to work) Some pets give +1 Fire KW PL I'm not speacking about other KW PL because I dont see any DoT as Wind, Tempest, Electricity, Ice KW. Alchemy increase the poisons (consumables) effect as well do generic and poison KW PL bonus. Arcana increase the scroll PL as well do generic and correspondant PL bonus.4 points

The Dollars trilogy were my favorite Westerns growing up (Westerns were huge in my family) but I don't think I've seen any of them in since I was a teen. The Re:View of The Good, the Bad, the Ugly made me want to rewatch them all.3 points

As much as Bart derides my taste in movies, I wonder how he feels about the fact that my end of the year movie for my students is Galaxy Quest? The kids groan about the choice for about 10 minutes, and then they are onboard for the best scifi flick ever made.2 points

an indirect way to increase damage is to increase PEN (indirectly also from PL). especially relevant on PotD. Importantly, the damage adjusts dynamically based on your current PEN, so once again crits don't help, but a buff like Tenacious or the chanter invocation (+3) or chant (+1) can be significant boosts to damage.2 points

a few o' our all-time favorite movies is westerns. would include: the searchers, the treasure of the sierra madre, red river, the wild bunch. searchers is invariably top-ten for us and the other two are not far behind. a half dozen or more other westerns is vying for recognition and we have a hard time explaining why high noon, the ox-bow incident, the gun fighter and others ain't included with our top four. the thing is, many films and shows you perhaps don't think o' as westers is, or were at least western homage/influenced. kurosawa were heavily influenced by american westerns, as well as film noir and shakespeare. have mentioned previous how outland were effective high noon in space. if you like the mandalorian... etc. is also not the same thing, but if you like tarantino, then sergio leone is obvious a huge influence. HA! Good Fun!2 points

we made boogaloo wonderland sandwiches we got a recipe which approximates a decent version o' the sauce. atk also has a recipe which is probable more accurate than what Gromnir does. our knock-off has near same ingredients as atk with a bit more vinegar and we replace the brown sugar with dark molasses. am reducing the molasses volume 'cause while is maybe less authentic, we prefer the sauce to be more smokey and less sweet. we use also abandon the chili powder and replace with ancho chile powder. regardless, is more fun to say, "boogaloo wonderland," than to say "sloppy joes with cheese"... minus the green bell pepper but with more onions. admission: we prefer jalapeño in our sloppy joes instead o' green bell pepper, and if we weren't making the boogaloo wonderland for somebody who had never previous tasted, we woulda' added jalapeño. HA! Good Fun!2 points

The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly (1966). This is a fascinating method of drinking from a bottle, though not one I think I'll be trying any time soon: What I've learned from this film is that if you're ever going to double-cross someone, you should be certain that they're dead before you wander off, otherwise you might be caught in an endless loop of revenge and more double-crossing. In my specific case, you're right: there's nothing that's fundamentally wrong with new movies that will prevent me from enjoying them wholesale, whereas with the other two, well...exceptions are very rare. For someone who has different preferences and priorities (possibly Gorth?), that may not be the case, though.2 points

Yeah, I guess I really am an alien. Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow's CGI doesn't even try to pass itself off as real, and therefore is infinitely better than the CGI animals in Prey. The film looks like an animated version of a early 20ies/30ies sci-fi movie with a campy 50ies storyline. It is absolutely perfect in what it tried to achieve. Actually, if CGI was exclusively used for films like that, I'd sit here arguing for more instead of less. Is it a good film? Well, probably not. But it's simply wonderful. I was thinking of high budget movies in general, and there are those that are still shot on film, like Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, which I've never watched because I generally find myself not liking Tarantino films (in spite of them usually being more character and dialoge driven than regular films, I guess there's something about his style that simply doesn't speak to me). In epic action, fantasy or sci-fi films, even the big budget titles that don't look terrible fall flat because they're terrible for other reasons. The Force Awakens for instance had good sets instead of everything being CGI like in the prequels, but the film itself was creatively bankrupt to the point where it make Return of the Jedi's reuse of the Death Star looks like a vibrant, fresh idea. But yes, that mirrors the issue with triple-A gaming and (Japanese) animation, but I still think film is still in a better place than either anime or triple-A gaming. Anime often panders to the lowest common denominator in a way that just wouldn't be acceptable in film any more and employes rote tropes and stereotypical characters to that end, and modern character design looks gross and adds a malus to that needs to be overcome by everything else being better than it otherwise would need to be. Triple-A gaming does the same, with a different focus group. Films? Yes, the overwhelming amount of films that come out are trash, and there's a new dime a dozen romantic comedy or superhero film out every day. Yet, still, there's usually a bunch of servicable or better films in any given genre per year of varying budgets. The writing's on the wall, of course, with everything in the streaming world heading towards an inflationary period where everything is simply being drowned in mediocre trash to keep people subbed to a hundred different services. Subjectively, I had more success finding various films I enjoyed that were made recently than either games or anime. Actually a bunch of pretty good ones came out last year or this year. However, as per the initial part of this post, I guess my subjectivity isn't worth much to actual people. Don't misunderestimate (lol ) me here, I do enjoy the occasional so bad it is good film, and I have Masters of the Universe in my top 10 movies of all time list for a reason. Fire Birds isn't one of those, and Top Gun - at least the first one - isn't a bad film by any metric when looking at what it is, factoring in genre conventions of the time and adjusting your expectations accordingly. Something that is much easier when one is provided with contrast in the context of said conventions. It sure feels outdated nowadays and probably aged less gracefully than other films, but that is something else entirely. Still perfectly valid to not like Top Gun. I hated being forced to watch Bridget Jones's Diary too, but the film is arguably a good romantic comedy if one likes that sort of thing.2 points

I never really considered The Best Defense. Honestly I haven't even read it properly it seems, just dismissed it as yet another bashing shield that's not Tuotilo's (I think I only ever did the Seeker path on one playthrough). Never noticed that it has damage scaling instead of deflection. Also Terrifying to Face seems super convenient for such a build, I think you might have just sold me on this one, and then Unbroken it is. The occasional riposts being being better is just icing on the cake. Shame that it comes fairly late.2 points

Welcome to the new and updated list of current builds from these boards. Each of the eleven classes in the game is listed below in alphabetical order, with each build listed alphabetically underneath. For each build you'll find a short descriptor, an indication of the game version it was built for and/or it uses gear and abilities from, and whether it has been meant or tested for solo play. I suppose it's better than Japanese corporate culture. Not that it makes it good but things can always be worse. She was actually always trying to enforce fairness. She had a kid or two really young or something and it was hard for her to get ahead because she couldn't put in the 70+ hours her coworkers could. She enforced a strict 8 hour day and a not a minute more. We still had overachievers, somehow I was one, but we were all competing on a more level playing field since you generally had to actually be more efficient rather than having more time to devote to work. I have had some real bastards for bosses too.1 point
-
Or just warped by NA corporate culture. Complaints are more on duties rather than hours, which is fine, I think - hiring support but making them do DevOps work is a bit much. Good way to get free things like kudos and praise, at least. Sounds like something a **** boss would have on their door, heh.1 point

Hey, I don't deride your tastes in movies. Well, not much...publicly, anyways, . I'm about to start deriding your recent usage of those lousy art style emojis if you don't stop with that nonsense, though. Who in their right freaking mind would use that crap over the legacy emoticons? Some of us have eyes, man! Well, that's the nice thing about Galaxy Quest: it has a good emotional core driven by its characters, strong performances from its cast in their respective roles, some clever but also cliched humor played tongue-in-cheek with regards to its nature as a semi-parody...and some sci-fi silliness and action to top it all off. What more could you ask for from a film of this type?1 point
-
I remember that it has the following behavior (might be wrong): if you walk you will create (or "drop") rel. small instances of healing areas that pulse for some time and heal allies (if there's movement or not) - but new ones of those AoE instances only get created (or dropped) if you move. Iirc you can create a lot of parallel healing instances if you move back and forth a lot.1 point

obvious entries which leap forward is tokyo godfathers, shrek, crusher joe, nausicaä of the valley of the wind, ghost in the shell and mulan. am not even a hardcore film historian, so am suspecting others is gonna recognize more. am thinking is ez to confuse trappings o' westerns with what were fundamental elements. mulan may be based on a traditional chinese story, but the storytelling is far more reliant on american western traditions. just one element, but is no way eddie murphy character is in mulan w/o american westerns. and tokyo godfathers were just too ez to identify. do a search on influences for tokyo godfathers if you are confused. HA! Good Fun!1 point

This is why this spell is the better for this tactic (I mean without Effort) : PP can be cast at will, and every time an inspiration proc, that cause an adustement to his duration, or if the inspiration is countred by an affliction, the inspiration come back after a while.1 point

Watched enough Star Trek for the parody to work? I loved Galaxy Quest, but I'm not sure if that film is interesting at all without it working as intended. Other than that: Usual and obligatory comment on the Dollars 'trilogy' whenever it comes up: Like some of the commenters on the RL re:View video, I think Once Upon a Time in the West is Leone's best film, even if Clint Eastwood would probably have been a better main character than Charles Bronson - but alas, one can't have everything, right? Casting Henry Fonda as the villain was a bold choice, and from what I recall from interviews one of the biggest reasons Henry Fonda took the role in the first place. Doing something else for a change.1 point

Unfortunately, like @majestic, I very much dislike Tarantino. Another case of a director whose work is technically impressive, usually quite amusing, and seemingly well-written...and yet who leaves me feeling completely empty inside after seeing anything by him. His films are a bit like riding a rollercoaster for me: it's exciting enough while it's happening, but not much of note otherwise. I have not seen a single one of the films (or The Mandalorian) that you listed - a hearty combination of ignorance of and not much interest in the genre, I would think. Of all the films I would qualify as being a favorite of mine, I feel as though there is very little Western influence in any of them. And even if there is, it's probably what I would consider to either be irrelevant to why I like it or possibly even the weaker and less interesting components of whatever film it is. Here are my top 50 non-TV films (warning: somewhat dominated by animated films, particularly at the top...I'm very much an animation person more than anything else), see if you can quickly identify anything as being particularly Western-influenced: Fun fact: a good bit more of my top 50 films were made before I was born than after. I wonder how often that happens for people, particularly given how much of a hassle it usually is (relatively speaking) to watch older movies.1 point

If you watch A Fistful of Dollars (and even if you don't) you should absolutely watch Yojimbo. It's easily my favorite Toshiro Mifune performance ever, and that's really saying something. The movie (and its Italian ripoff homage) is absolutely dripping with delicious cynicism. The Criterion Collection blu-ray I own is Japanese with English subtitles, as it should be. I really need to read Dashiell Hammett's Red Harvest some day so I can judge for myself whether Yojimbo is an adaptation of it, as is debated (but never confirmed).1 point

It depends who did the killing. In Al Mabhouh's case most of complexity comes from fact that Israel send it own agents to do the killing. If Ukraine agents did the hit, it also adds quite lot complexity in the scenario. Like how Ukraine infiltrated its agents in Russia during war time. How Ukraine agents acquired needed information and explosives (as it not that easy to smuggle them over the border). How Ukraine agents hide from Russian authorities and (planned to) escaped the country. Killing itself is only small part of such operation regardless of fact do you blow bomb in car of suffocate person with pillow in their hotel room. As target Al Mabhouh seem one that would be more likely to be assassinated by state operators than either of Dugins1 point
-
It was quite complex assassination. Bomb seem to have put in car, which was registered in Darya's not her fathers name (according to leaked government documents) during cultural festival which Dugins participated. It seem that it had remote trigger or timer as it exploded five minutes after car left the festival area. Bomb seem to have designed only to kill people inside of the vehicle. Assassin(s) had pretty good knowledge about Dugins, their schedule, which car they drive. And they had access to explosives and trigger, were able to bypass Toyota's theft deterrent system and knew where explosive needs to be installed in order to kill driver instantly. They also installed explosive in festival site's parking lot during daylight. Russian investigators believe that it was contract hit, which probably will not make it easier to prove who was actually behind the hit.1 point
-
I think the hyperbole and attributing Dugin to direct influence on Putin is unhelpful The article is also written by the Jewish Chronicle and they focus on anti-Semitism in Russia generally from the Soviet time but they raise parallels between Dugins rhetoric and Putins propaganda. Thats the influence I am referring to like the example below "Dugin’s buzzword, “Novorossiya”, meaning “new Russia”, was repeatedly used by Putin on national television in 2014 regarding the annexing of Crimea, resurrecting the Tsarist terminology of the Russian empire. Dugin envisages a “new world” centred around Russia, and Putin’s victorious press release about Ukraine was similarly titled the “offensive of Russia and the New World”. According to Ukraine’s Page News, its proud publication had been scheduled for two days after the Ukraine invasion. dunno. unions were created so folks could just do their job and not need worry 'bout getting fired or passed over for promotions. unfortunate, there is more than a few jobs where working your forty don't... work. @Hurlshot no doubt is able to share experience 'bout teachers and how ordinary it is for them to work considerable number o' hours past end o' the school day. sure, once a teacher gets tenure is maybe too difficult to be fired, but many/most teachers spend considerable hours doing their job beyond the minimum requirements if for no other reason than 'cause is always kids and classes which is needing more help. ... consider for a moment a young person who is starting a new business. she paints houses. gets paid to paint houses. as a person new to the field o' residential exterior painting, she is creating a business and she is selling her services to those who need their properties to be painted. chances are for the first couple years, until she develops a clientele and acquires a positive reputation, she needs underbid competitors and perhaps even take the occasional loss on a job or two (or three) to grow her business. the painter is working more hours than competitors and making less money than her work is actual worth, and her actions is not only reasonable but likely necessary if she wants to break into a market where there is already more than a few established house painters vying for jobs. young person working at a bank or as a peace officer or as a dental hygienist is not different than the painter. sure, it seems different but with almost any job you is first and foremost selling yourself, and chances are if you wanna separate self from the competition (your fellow employees) you need work harder and better than your competition. yeah, particular for jobs where is a surplus o' labor, bosses, absent well-established and powerful unions, may engage in nightmarish levels o' exploitation o' labor. am not blind to the injustice o' the capitalist v. worker dynamic. however, 'cause am old and retired and grumpy, we can't help but think some o' the younger generation has been warped by participation-trophy silliness and forgotten how genghis khan's attribution is just as applicable today: so, suck it up buttercup and get back to work, 'cause if you don't wanna work eighty hours and go above and beyond, then chances are somebody else will do so and when is time to hand out promotions or decided who is being let go during lean times, what reasonable boss wouldn't choose the overachiever? am kinda kidding... somewhat. a little. 'course shady is in a field where businesses is falling all over themselves trying to keep qualified people, so am suspecting he gots considerable leverage even if he does bare minimum required. young painters, or lawyers, is facing considerable competition from their peers and if they don't set themselves apart from the herd at the start o' their career, the handful o' plum positions may be forever out o' reach. not fair? who ever promised it were gonna be fair? if somebody did make such a promise to you, they were liars or fools... or both. HA! Good Fun!1 point

Nope Yesterday I was using an empowered PP to spam over and over Venombloom on enemies and create a wonderful deadly field of flowers (really deadly, env. 15 rolls per 3s that interrupt on crit) and I was stationary. My rogue was bodygarding my druid, and take damage from a ranged enemy away from the flowers, and regenerate his health each 1s (nobody in my party was moving during the test) because of the PP. I think by the way the pulsating spells like Venombloom, Nature's Terror, Chillfog etc and Moon's light, Moonwell or Concecrated Ground are really good to stealth with Grimoire imprint.1 point

Sweet! I don't imagine I will buy a gas car again. The Ford Mach-E is probably my favorite out now, but there are a ton of other good choices.1 point

I wasn't sure where to say this, but dang it I had to. I will be 40 this year, I have not played a game with a good story and an amazing world since Baldurs Gate 2 and Final Fantasy 7. I thought perhaps I was losing my love for games and RPG's, but nothing could be further from the truth. Truth is, I haven't been engaged in a game to the degree that I have presently am having with PoE since I was a young kid playing Baldur's Gate. The walls of text, amazing descriptions and writing that makes me feel like I am playing a character in a good book are what has been missing. I am so thankful to you all over at Obsidian for making this game, I feel a sense of wonder and fascination with PoE that I haven't experienced with a game for so long I feared it would never return. I can't wait for the next CRPG to come out of Obsidian, you have a loyal fan for life.1 point

Uncle From Another World 3: How The Uncle Becomes An Aunt And Gets A Larger YouTube Audience Not as funny as last week, but still pretty funny. EDIT: Also finished s1 of Spy x Family It was fun, but I wish there would be more focus on Yor, whose assassinations have taken the back seat to Loid's spywork and Anya's school escapades. I think we've had more screentime of the monocle teacher saying elegant than we've had of Yor's double life.1 point
