ANOTHER ONE On these forums that is a wide field. It's art, a perfect pastiche of an anime villain. And it's made all the better by the off chance it may be genuine and not ironic. Perhaps the greatest copypasta this forum will ever produce.3 points

Too late. You know that terrible sound people make when they're slowly but surely dying? That awful utmost pity inducing wail of the reversal of the life process? That's the sound I hear from all these anti KP-signatures, clinging to a desperate hope that the tide can somehow be reversed and cannot accept the fact that the world is changing in big ways. Stay tuned for 2024, we're just getting started here2 points

This is @ComradeYellowopenly rejoicing in the killing of people. To the extent that this forum has any rules in place at all, this must surely be a violation gross enough to merit a permanent ban. Surely. In fact, an indignant moderator already told me that this user had been banned, but clearly that's not true.2 points

Played and finished The Bard's Tale: Tales of the Unknown. The remastered version, I mean. Even with the revamped character progression and the added option the game runs a little too long and overstays its welcome at the end. It became much more enjoyable after I stopped bravely facing every enemy I ran across and just ran from fights tha would be too long drawn out or flat out annoying, like having multiple groups of spellcasters at high ranges. Why bother, just run, the next fight is just around the corner anyway. All in all, for an almost fourty years old game, that was pretty good. Well, with the added quality of life from the remastered version. I'd be much less positive if I had to draw my own maps. While modern gaming sure feels like it has lost a certain charm (and perhaps it just doesn't feel like it), some things are best left in the past - although I'm willing to admit that might be just a matter of having much less spare time. Drawing dungeon maps was a nice part of the immersion back when Eye of the Beholder was new, but after a hard day's work, I'm not really in the mood to fight monsters and the game. Not sure if I want to immediately continue on to BT2.2 points

I haven't updated the sig in a while, but I think that quote works better at being ironic humor. I'd put the latest soniccomrade post in there because it is objectively hilarious, but it unfortunately takes up too much space. The perils of modern life.1 point

GOG Galaxy is not required to run the game. I think it does not force updates, unlike Steam, but I haven't tried to launch WotR via GOG Galaxy, just downloaded the game from the website and blocked it with the firewall. Would suggest to keep the installation files just in case. Not sure from what point, but now gog.com offers only the latest versions of games to download, so switching between versions is possible only via the app.1 point

The violence is very much in line with Berserk, it's just a byproduct of the world they live in, but unlike Berserk I think it's less grimdark and there is more to balance out the depression.1 point

Provided that it's grounded, for a reason (i.e. not simply for shock value, which is usually lame), and not just utter misery all the time, the torment of children is (or at least can be) great. ...I originally wrote that as just "child torture is great", but that didn't seem to capture my sentiment quite right and I would prefer to deny KP the opportunity to put another of my posts in his signature. But really, probably my third favorite live action film of all time is The Florida Project, and Grave of the Fireflies is pretty close to the top of my favorite Ghibli films...and I'm probably forgetting some other things, but yeah, not really usually an issue for me. Now whether or not I would like it due to vastly different reasons more related to it coming out in 2017 is an entirely different question...1 point

Out government just removed the COVID-19 quarantine in favor of mandating FFP2 masks if you're infected, have no symptoms and want to leave home. Technically that means you're allowed to sit in a pub as long as you wear a mask, but you're not allowed to drink anything. Bet you the owners are going to be as happy about someone sitting there with a mask on as every other guest. Not entirely against dropping the quarantine, but as always, the implemented solution has... rather curious peculiarities. The change was made primarily to get symptomless infected back into the workforce in some way.1 point

When does the EE drop? If it's soon I'd wait if only because the upgrade to the EE has a not-insignificant chance to break your game mid way. I haven't played in months but it was relatively stable with TT and some other mods back then, though performance would just crater in the mid to late game. I can't remember how Court Poet worked in WotR, but I think it is different from the PnP version. Clerics are solid even without the silly Angel merge and with impossible domain are one of the best classes at stacking bonuses, which you will need to break through the stat blocks on higher difficulties (iirc, none of the default clerics have access to Nobility and Community domains, so you will have to take it to get those abilities).1 point

OK, here we go then. It will apply to : - All food including Hylea's Boon - All resting place at inns - Prostitute Bonus I'm not going to track down every unique one-time Bonuses until next rest, but feel free to complete the list above if I'm missing something important (repeatable) and relevant. OK so after my testing it seems that there's something intresically degenerate with using several abilities that grant + duration. After 1 kill while in Fury form, every single BPM version Salvation of Time tick (which grant +0,5s every 1s) granted about +4-5s duration. I've not spotted anything weird when a single effect is used. It seems to apply to everything using + duration (BPM Bloodstorm, which has a different coding as Fury bonus duration on Kill). Ahem Impossible to correct something broken by hardcode apart by removing the +duration effects... So my point of view is to fix the most degenerate cases. 1) I won't change BPM SoT because it is nice. I would recommand not abusing it with abilities with +Duration effect. BPM SoT and Wall of Draining seem to interact fine. 2) I want to keep Wildstrike Frenzy as it is. It is the corner stone of SC Druid balance. 3) There's a couple of self-prolonging abilities around : Blood Storm, Pain Persists, Each Kills fed his Fury. Honnestly, I don't believe they would be "too broken" if a glitch allows them to prolonge indefinitely. 4) Fury is the main issue IMHO. - BPM added a +10% damages on Kill in Blight Form until the end of the Shift (stackable 3 times). This one would be broken to prolonge indefinitely. - SC Fury intresically gets an ability (the shift) that has 2 means of prolonging. This is the only case (I think) when an ability is broken on its own, without any combo. Since it is hard coded, there is basically no way to fix it (unless I'm missing something). => My proposal is to cut Fury duration extension on Kill. Because of point 2), it would affect less the game than cutting Wildstrike Frenzy duration extension. => I will also change the +10% damages on Kill in Blight Form until the end of the Shift to +10% damages on Kill in Blight Form for 30s (INT and PL apply). The effect will be limited in time independantly from Shifting duration BUT will last after the shift. This will keep the spirit of "Fury getting additional benefits from Kills in Blight form" even if I have to abandon the virtuous circle of getting more damages and duration per Kill (so more duration of more damages etc...). I haven't been able to reproduce this on my game (tested with melee and ranged weapons), and I haven't spotten anything weird in the code either. So I have no mean to address this. If it really fails on your PC, just check the load order as BPM should be loaded after CP. And if it fails, then sorry, but I'll recommand to delete this particular change and go back to CP version of backstab (which is quite fine too).1 point

Agreed. Weird dietary habits led to everything from SARS to Covid in recent decades... the lab was just a coincidence, that it happened to be in the same city as the outbreak. Also helped bring the spotlight on some shady research going on, on the side (unrelated to Covid19).1 point

i think the big thing for me is enemy rogues. they frequently dual-wield and rogue abilities are all interrupt on hit. while i prefer GLoH, HoL does fill its niche pretty well, because especially around the level I get it (SC or MC) those skeleton rogues on PotD start appearing everywhere and they can be absolutely punishing in the early-mid game w/ no chance to react to multiple hits. (and i don't think the timer on their ability cooldown script is shared between their normal strikes and finishing blow, so i feel like i often see a relentless sequence of crippling/blinding strike -> finishing blow = interrupt-locked to death)1 point

yeah the test is very annoying, i actually recruited my wife to stand around bored so i just had a spare set of hands to start/stop the stopwatch repeatedly while i was clicking around to move. yeah, +50% -50% is equivalent to being in a chill fog (+50% recovery penalty) as a swashbuckler (-50% recovery time bonus), which is a killer and obvious speed up.1 point

Alien3 is one of the movies that benefits most from its director's cut (or whatever they call it in that case). Literally made no sense at all in its theatrical release. It suffers mostly from two factors (1) it's 'thematically' a sequel to Alien, but worse in pretty much every respect and (2) in actual sequence it's a sequel to Aliens, but is significantly different*. That manages to alienate (ohoho) both sets of fans pretty effectively. Resurrection... well. I know it isn't great, but I can't help but watch it whenever it's on. Closest comparison is probably to Starship Troopers**. I know ST has an utterly unsubtle political critique (which A:R doesn't have), I know that it has 'bad' acting, I know it has 'bad' scripting. I still enjoy it though because in that particular case I just don't care that it's stupid. Everyone looks like they're in on the joke (except Caspar van Dien, and Winona Ryder for Resurrection; and them not being in on it and taking it serious just makes it better) and having great fun, and for me that goes a long way. Probably the same reason I love Sleepy Hollow as well, loads of good actors producing more ham than a pig abattoir. *and immediately and unceremoniously dumps the Aliens characters, which a lot of people hated. I don't really get the attachment though personally. **or maybe Bad Taste which is even more stupid, has a less sensical plot but is even more fun. Way more obscure than ST though even with the Peter Jackson factor.1 point

Tactician/Monk can crit himself with Rooting Pain while confused. But it will interrupt you, too - so you may want to become immune to interrupts (with Rekvu's Fractured Casque for example). Yes, good catch. It's a known trick to use Saint's War Armor + Keeper of the Flame + Imagined Pain and then spam Whispers of the Wind non-stop.1 point

Requires at least fixing the couple of Elemental bonuses that don't apply to them. A tiny bit unclear, but thanks for the effort. EDIT : I mean, your post is clear, but I fear the rule will not be, in terms of gameplay. Elemental KW Immunity only then. Damages Immunity shall be kept. And add +2 PEN to weapons changed to single type damages from dual type. There's also 6. Changing elemental weapons to at least partly-damage when not already present. Such as changing Dragon's Dowry to Pierce/Burn This requires -1 PEN to weapons changed to dual type damages from single type. Weapons will suffer from immune, but it is closer from the original and at least the weapon will be at least partially elemental.1 point

Ok, actually finished Stray. My ratings notions still stand. The campaign/story ending was a bit ambiguous in some ways, without real clear cut answers. Some won't like that but I don't mind. I don't think it's as deep as some might believe but considering it's ... y'know, a cat ... it was still good. In a way the story isn't really about the cat itself, either. Anyhoo...had fun, no regrets, probably the first game in a while that I actually kept turning back on and finished (yay for short games? )1 point

I have had some unintentional party changes in BG1, Kagain threw his toys and left the party because I still haven't found the noblemen's son. I was going to kill him for his insolence but I believe in Democracy and if he wants to leave the GREATEST adventure in his life and miss the opportunity of spending many nights around the fire with the beautiful and seductive Viconia thats his problem So I was left with a fighter\tank shortage but I enlisted Kivan, a ranger, and Im very impressed. He is effective in battle and offers some good dialogue lines and some hilarious interaction with Imoen I also have changed my combat strategy. With Kivan I now have 3 x archers who initially can inflict long range damage and then I use the party formation of 3 x 2 rows while exploring. So I moved my wizard to row 2 which means when I see a group of enemies from a distance I can quickly cast AOE spells like Color Spray which is finally making my wizard add real value in combat Im also having some really exciting battles with named bandits in the maps south of Beregost, they tough and the combat literally goes down to my fighters winning with 3 HP left after using all my healing potions. I get good loot and scalps from these battles My party is still mostly on level 2 but Imoen is on level 3 and the adventure is progressing nicely1 point
