you have met young people, yes? folks such as you and Gromnir expressing bemusement or curiosity is exact why the fad persisted, 'cause it were mostly young people with the pants and every time somebody older complained or questioned the fad, particular somebodies who didn't look much like those embracing the fad, it further legitimized and entrenched the fad. the quickest way to end virtual any youth embraced fad is for every "old" person to adopt the fad. HA! Good Fun!2 points

Hah, I even posted screenshots for a while, but people didn't notice. I backed Spellcaster Univeristy on kickstarter actually and have been playing it through various iterations. The added dungeons were the truly huge change. I haven't tried out the jousting yet... pro-tip: traits stack. So if you have a student who is Ambitious in a house that gives all members Ambitious, the student will get double the boost.2 points

Yes, you could use Sasha's in the second weapon setup and use it for an empowered summoning (summons last a lot longer then) and then switch to another weapon setup. Since your main roles are supposed to be tank and summoner I would pick something that helps your defenses/sturdyness and/or engagement. Examples: Kapana Taga with All Comers and Champion's Relic Pukestabber with Numb and usage of the dagger modal Bardatto's Luxury Squid's Grasp Duskfall with Drawing Parry Griffin's Blade with Hound's Resilience Gladiator Sword2 points

given the recent overturn o' roe v. wade, we were considering which SCOTUS decisions were worst from our pov. is a disturbing number to choose from, however, near the top o' our list is the twin cases o' schenck v. united states and debbs v. united states. am not discussing the law of either case, but we recollected bernie sanders did a documentary o' eugene debbs and even read a number o' debbs speeches, including the one which sent the socialist firebrand to prison. am knowing is more than a few bernie bros on these boards and we thought we would share the linked video. aside, SCOTUS upheld the debbs conviction 9-0. sentence were ten years but President warren harding would commute debbs sentence in 1921, two years after debbs were imprisoned. What I have understood, situation with Germany's nuclear power plants is such that it is cheaper and faster build new ones than trying to repair current ones back in use. This is because many of them have old and in efficient reactors meaning that new ones will outperform them and there is need for new ones in decade or two max anyway Many reactors have suffered from cannibalization where parts from already closed reactor has been used to maintain still running reactors. Also in many cases heat from reactor cooling has not been used for district heating or otherwise utilized. Which means that massive amount of energy those plants produced was not utilized. And means that Germany would still need lots of energy from other source in which they currently have two options natural gas and coal. In case of future there are some needs that needs to be addressed at least Adjustment power: Renewable energy sources like wind and solar don't have solid production rates, but produce some days more and some days less energy, so there is needs to be way to adjust how much electricity is put in electric grid. Ways to do that is constant over production where wind and solar plants always produce more than needed and over production is just wasted. Storing over production: in batteries or some other form of energy storage, which can used as energy source in day when there is underproduction Adjustment power plants (current solution where there are power plants which production levels can be easily controlled based on how much fuel is used) Heating and cooling: In big cities there is usually need for district heating solutions and as there is already existing district heating solutions where waste energy from power plants is used to warm houses in the cities there is need to replace them. One solution could be use massive ground-source heat pumps to turn electricity to heat efficiently and feed it in current district heating systems. An other solution could be build small modular nuclear rectors that are only meant to produce heat in district heating systems. And of course there is also transportation that brings its own issues2 points

Furries will get their own planet for sure. And this being a Bethesda game, there is bound to be a planet with a very buggy vampire story arc.2 points

Spy x Family 12 Loid overhears his neighbors gossiping about him, speculating that they never see him with Yor and Anya, so he is probably having an affair. Since this could expose his false family, he decides to take Yor and Anya to the aquarium. On the day they go, he is exhausted, receives another mission to be done in the aquarium and meets with some neighbors there too, which means he has to keep the appearances, do the side mission and avoid passing out.1 point

I really hope you'll develope a combat Gameplay better than your competitor Bethesda/Skyrim. Please give possibility to players to lock enemies and switch from one to another. Add also critical damage: cutting arms, legs ect...1 point

I got hooked on a fun little game called Spellcaster University last night. I had actually picked it up on GoG, but then I noticed I had gotten it for free through Amazon Games awhile back. I always forget about those free games they give through Prime. Anyways, the game is a pretty fun simulation of running Hogwarts.1 point

The CDC does recommend that people diagnosed with monkeypox wear a mask because it can be communicated through airborne droplets. But you need to be in very close proximity for it to be passed.1 point

No but that's still free Empower or Phrases, and the party action speed aura is worth it anyway. You might consider another 1h as main weapon if you prefer, but I would recommend picking Sasha's at least for secondary set. Just use it at the beginning of important fights, the switch. The mod that gives use back all phrases (but not the Empower point) can be seen as ideal for such use. You have plenty of possibilities for main weapon. Flail and club are neat for that defense debuffing modal, complementary crush damages and good uniques. You'll be Pocking anyway. An herald isn't going to do much damages with his weapon.1 point

Yes i use shield. Too bad Sasha Scimitar is ugly compared to other unique Sabres Do Chanter summons benefit much from Empower?1 point

I'm not sure I'd expect Sony to proactively comment except now, after MS has. FSR is open source, so presumably it will ultimately be up to the devs whether it gets implemented or not as I couldn't see any circumstance in which Sony would block them using it. More interesting might be to ask Nintendo about it since they use nVidia hardware (sans Tensors, not that DLSS scales particularly with tensors anyway) and it works on nVidia PC systems. I'd suspect the archaic ARM part of Tegra would be the sticking point though. Also, Dear Tom's Hardware, the whole point of an upscaler is that it takes less GPU power to upscale than to just render at that resolution, that's true whatever the hardware is. xbox 1 support is only surprising because it's old and it needs to be enabled on a per game basis, not because hardware can't handle it. It'd probably work on an old 7000 series desktop/ laptop card too if AMD updated the drivers, they'd just scale up to their own limitations rather than a rx6900's. Bet CDPR wished it was around when C2077 launched, may have helped with some of the last gen issues they had.1 point

There are some options for a low accuracy perspective : for melee two-handed, the Rannig's Wrath benefice from +5acc (rapier bonus) and +4acc (Thrusting enchantment) and potentialy +20acc from the modal ; The Magistrate's Cudgel, give +10 generic acc with Maked on hit, and you dont need to soulbind the weapon to get the bonus ; But with your MC you cant get the Suberb enchantment ; Fleetbreaker have an enchantment that give for the weapon 30% of Misses converted to Grazes, +4 Accuracy and +10% Damage ; The Blade of The Endless Paths provide some acc during the fight for the weapon (Seeker's prize) and can lower the deflection on crit ; The Sanguine Great Sword have 2 enchantments that can help for the acc issue : Thirsty Blade and Parched Blade (the upgrade) give 20% and 30% misses-to-grazes that is universal (work also with spells and chants). Debuffing enemies is always a good way to lower their defenses, ciphers or wizards are excellent in this purpose. As a chanter, you can also debuff and there is a chant, The Bride..., for +5Per and +5 dex. Cipher and Priest can give you Aware instead of Insightful that can help.1 point

Orville Ep4 I can't help but feel that they're trolling me with all the plot contrivances. 2/4 of the episodes would have been far better if they'd worked a bit more on making the set up not require acts of monumental stupidity.1 point

Ah, if only you knew the environment I work in... Basically the answer to those kind of question is to start defining some arbitrary requirements for the thing you are testing and then to start putting it through basic use cases and then go with more "advanced" scenarios. For the spice rack you would define it's dimensions and the maximal size of the spice shaker that can fit and of than max size the number of those that can fit. Then you define if it's wall mounted or freestanding. Lets say it's wall mounted, you verify that using the provided hardware to screw it in would keep it on the wall, than you add the weight of all the shakers, then you add more weight to find the max load before failure. Then you go wild and test if during an earthquake various sizes of spice shakers would fall out. And so on, and so on... Basically you want to show them how many scenarios for testing you can find, but the trick is to cover all the basic functionality. The issue is that people train for interviews and you want to see how they really think. Saying that, I know of one company that just has a one hour talk with the candidates where they just talk about their experience and some random things. No assignments, no tests.1 point

https://www.gog.com/game/virtuaverse Last giveaway I believe, this one I think I'll play.1 point

I would suggest playing BG1 first anyway, exactly because it is so much shorter. But you have to keep in mind how old that game is now, and on account of having led the way in the cRPG genre it didn't get to benefit from the lessons of many other games. DA:I is also a fun game to play. Make sure you don't allow yourself to get bogged down in the Hinterlands map. And I personally liked some of the war table quests and would recommend taking a case by case approach to whether you want to do those quests.1 point

Samurai Champloo 9 The three get arrested after trying to go through a checkpoint with a fake pass. The guards offer to free them if Mugen make a delivery and come back by sunset. He ends up being arrested again, this time by a bunch of revolutionary monks. During his escape, the monks’ “sacred grass” field catches fire and everyone gets a lot more reasonable. Samurai Champloo 10 Mugen and Fuu go hunt a murderer leaving Jin to do chores in a temple in exchange for food and shelter.1 point

Well, yes, but they're just the first batch. And other countries have now also said they too will send HiMARS. And HiMARS is an awesome system for the Ukrainians for this one reason. The one thing that is truly hurting the UA badly right now is that the Russians are relentlessly and indiscriminately bombarding UA positions with massive amounts of artillery, which the UA cannot get at as they're out of reach. With HiMARS, not only do those Russian artillery systems come with reach, one HiMARS has the potential to wipe out an entire battery of artillery guns, and possibly even more, in counter-battery fire mode.1 point

I agree with everything Melky said. I think if I dug WH40k more, it would help. The lack of squad personality is the toughest pill for me. Why do I care more about my squad in Xenonauts? It's not like they have any unique personality either. I think it is because in Xenonauts or the original Xcom, soldiers were the underdogs. If they survived a toe to toe fight against an alien, it gave them a story. These Space Marines are pretty much OP.1 point
-
Chaos Gate Daemonhunters isn't a bad game. I'll start with the cons: The story. It is being let down by the fact it is 40K. Greyknights are simply not engaging protagonists, just like most space marines. For 40K fans the story is great. The premise is suitably epic. The adeptus mechanicus dominus in charge of your ship's maintenance is well written. It seems 40K writers like the adeptus mechanicus to lighten the grimdark. What makes less sense is how you get reinforcements and equipment sent from Titan. The Greyknights send a single, small shuttle with a single knight and a spare storm bolter? That seems silly. In that the old Chaos Gate did better: you had a roster of marines on board, and that was it. I can see how people can find the game getting repetitive. On the one hand you only fight Nurgle. Even though attempts have been made to give your opponents a large roster, it doesn't change that they all are Nurgle. On top of that, the maps start to repeat. A few of them add insult to injury by basically being a pretty corridor, with no choice but to advance down one single path. And there seem to only be two mission objectives. Last con: the soldiers just aren't memorable. Firaxcom managed to make you care about your troops and remember them, even though for the most part they were random grunts. Phoenix Point has the roster grow so fast, other than maybe your first squad, it is unlikely you'll think of any of them as anything but sniper, commando, heavy etc. Chaos Gate is the same, your marines are melee dude in terminator armour, melee dude in power armour etc, even though you may count your troops using your fingers. The pros: Destructible terrain makes everything better. Lots of bits to interact with to kill your opponents makes it betterer. If your opponent is hiding behind a statue, it is very satisfying to slam into the statue and bury them underneath the rubble. Enemy variety is actually quite good, even if the focus on Nurgle gives a feeling of repetitiveness. In reality though there may be more variety than XCOM. Boss fights seem to be thought out. I have done two big story missions. The first one had a good premise but was a bit let down by the Greyknightytness. It makes sense and allows for super fans to have some fanservice, but for the rest of us it's a "if I cared I guess I would care" moment. The second one was tough as well, but I beat it by using my marines abilities well, while realising there was a smarter way to do the mission. I like that: a boss fight I could beat two ways. Stuns/crits/Knockback etc all work quite well and give you some tactical choices. Crits are pip boy style targeting and make for some grotesque funny situations: stop an opponent from shooting their gun? Chop their arm off and disarm them. If I were the opponent I'd be dead after that, but people in the game are a bit tougher than that. Skill trees are quite large for this kind of game, so you could tune your marines the way you like. And with 8 classes you get to tune your 4-man team. Bloom actually works reasonably well as a mission timer. It increases every turn and every special ability you use. Later you may be able to reduce it or limit the passive increase to gain some breathing room. But it isn't a mission failure timer. It isn't drawing me in like Troubleshooter did or any good story based game will. I don't feel the need to fire it up to see what comes next. But when you have it launched, you may want to go for just one more mission.1 point

Damn, I really got to give massive kudos to Lithuania. Their railroad action against Russia has the whiney crybabies in Moscow going bat-crap crazy! They're literally losing their minds, because tiny Lithuania has come up with a completely legal under international law way to REALLY stick it to the Russians, and there's precious little Russia can do about it short of invading NATO territory. Every argument the Russians raise about how "wrong" this is can be turned right back around on them! Lavrov, Peskov and co. are so apoplectic its side-splittingly hilarious. I'm keeping my fingers crossed it pushes Palputin's ticker over the line. Man, Lithuania is ****ing brilliant!!1 point
