  1. I'm going on a cruise on Monday to Alaska. If I never post again, check the news for reports about drunken man falling off a boat.

  2. - if you don't hear from me ever again it's from eating too many of these at once. ...I haven't had my fave cookie ( a real cookie) in forever. Today I couldn't resist. At least it's not a ginormous box. Hubby saw them in the basket and tried to toss them back into an open meat freezer section but I fished them out again. HAHA. ...btw, Wal-Mart's grocery section around here isn't all that much cheaper or particularly impressive in any way (average, name brands) but I was "amused" that their produce selection was fresher and more varied then the local Raley's. Usually Raley's is ok but the one close to our house, it's small and often wilted/not much choices. I'll have to go elsewhere for produce. ...the warm weather is starting. After getting home I'm just sitting near the pool under the patio watching the treetops wave in the breeze. I think I'll remain here a while.

  3. i heard tickets for it in the black market can go up to 3000 euros. personally, i wouldn't even watch it on tv even if you paid me to. most of the songs are crap and its more about politics than art at this point. if i want politics i can just watch the news or a livestream from the parliament

  5. That's generally a problem with patches in many games in recent times, or at least for games I played a lot. Hey, I know it's a bother, but perhaps I don't want your gameplay changes to apply to my game? Well, for single player games, anyway. Obsidian could have really added an option to Pillars of Eternity: [ ] Make the bad combat in this game worse by adding "balance" from recent patches.

  6. What really annoys me with Paradox's EU4 was the inability to disable certain new gameplay features that were force enabled with their major patches. Some of them were just so lousy and I don't want to deal with them and I wish I could just disable them for myself as well as the AI. It's been years since I played EU4, so maybe they have added a way to do that by now...but probably not.

  8. Yeah it's from Luke Ross, and all of his mods are very well done and scalable on different hardware. There are different visual presets you can specify, depending on what your pc can handle. I've been able to get it running smoothly on a 1080ti (medium), 2080ti (high), and a 3080ti (ultra) I can get by pretty smoothly at 6K resolution maxed out on the Pimax 8KX. But cranking it to 8K resolution (native for that headset) is very choppy, but it looks extremely good (like it's the exact same game you see in the screen, but you are inside it with no visual compromises). You are almost literally in the wild west at that point. I see those visuals as a preview for what the next gen will be able to give you. Like a RTX 4090 preview maybe

  11. So at my previous job, the company bought kid desks...no joke... We bought wooden boards and made monitor risers, it also frees up space below the monitor (depending on the wood you may need a third leg in the middle but you can flip it to go along the back of the desk so it doesn't take space). It's a very cheap solution. A free solution is to put books or boxes underneath your monitors (I recommend Java for beginners, it provides the optimal height). Edit: fear my paint skill, for it is fearsome.

  13. More than that, even. 着る and 切る (both kiru, but 切る inflects differently) are homonyms, meaning to wear and to cut, respectively. キル, as written in the title, (キルラキル) can also mean kill if kill is used as a loan word - it's how you would write (and say) kill (the English word) in Japanese. It's mostly used for computer game kills and to mean terminate (to close, etc.). The title is funny indeed, considering Ryuko fights with a giant scissor blade. In plain Japanese, kill and wear aren't homonyms though, to kill/murder is 殺す (korosu). /weeb

  14. Let me know if you going to play RDR2 again, I am not replaying it I am just continuing with the John Marston story and all these mods just add the functionality to that but they would also update the main story And its very simple to load RDR2 mods, you literally copy one or two files to the RDR2 installation directory and you dont need a mod manager Its not like my Oblivion modding story, I probably spent about 40 hours before I developed an effective and working strategy

  17. Hmmm… might give it a go sometime in the future. In spite of my previous criticism of RDR2 it is a game I imagine myself returning to. I started epilogue. It was harder then I thought

  19. Nah, it'll just mean you'll fall through the world only half as much as in other releases, and maybe it'll not be as broken as Fallout 76.

  20. The Prime Directive, like any plot device, is only as good as its usage, and that falls squarely on the shoulders of the writer(s). Pretty much any plot device, even hilariously overused ones such as Deux Ex Machina, can be a useful tool if used sparingly and cleverly.

  21. Been doing some of the last tweaks to my Mando armour designs. A few bits here and there, then I'll be submitting the designs to the Mando Mercs Q&A team for approval, then I can start to gird myself for the printing. And the priming. And the sanding. And the priming. And the sanding... Also been getting into the basics of leatherworking. Getting to grips with some of the basic cutting, embossing, dying elements of it all. Trying to keep it to the basic toolset before blowing even more budget...

  22. I named them mostly after lore characters - a few island have something that feels already appropriate (Black Isle, Xaur Tuk Tuk), I used Fulvano, Ryona and Eccea a few times plus other characters from gear stories in 1 (like Vierina or Pefrel). I had a St. Ponamu once until the scallawags pack made him a possible canon crewmember. I named one Sanza to see if he has a reaction to that as your financier for the whole thing. Some make sense, some are totally arbitrary.

  24. That's the thing - I found Witcher to be more on a Terry Pratchet side, then grim and dark. It's like a parody of a parody of a parody. Fantasy spaghetti western with dark twists on popular fairy tales.

  27. With the milk molar upgrades increasing how much chests can hold, I think there should be a "defrag" option for the chests, as there is for the backpack. That way if you're a hoarder like me, you can even out all your stacks, and maximize your storage.

  29. I really don't get this "fight hard, not smart" mindset. From where I stand, sending a squad of Mordenkainen's swords, skellingtons and other creepy crawlies to face tentaclefaces first is the proper way. So is camping at Firkraag's for a week while Jan Jansen lays traps every 8 hours. Also, Bruce, I hear that "Witcher" now has English translation that does not suck, so no excuses.

  30. Without Mordenkainen's sword? First world game problems. Seems I'll be forced to beat Stranger of Sword City without underwear. Nevermind Mordenkainen's sword.

  32. Many people hate the swamp, but I never understood why. It doesn't play any differently to the rest of the game. I didn't mind combat - I defenitely liked it more then W2. I thought of W1 combat more in terms of NWN1/KOTOR, but at least with some kind of reactivity, rather then action combat that later installements attempted. It's not that bad, but as far as RPGs go, or at least there are games with worse combat. I should also stress that I played the game more then a year after it was released so with all the enhancements, and in polish so I didn't suffer from what I understand was a rather dodgy translation effort. Couple months. I remember being very relieved when it was over. I was a big Sapkowski fan at that time (wrong my final high school essay on it) so I was eager to see how it was adapted. It was also first year of university and freedom from parental oversight. Some people do drugs and sex, while I did way too much gaming and did stupid stuff like watching extanded LotR trilogy back to back.

  33. Further misadventures of melkathi the Stranger of Sword City. There are rumours of a knight having been eaten by a giant slime. I went to track down the Elder Slime in the depth of the Shadow Palace. Prepared the ambush (read: found ambush spot and clicked "4" on the keyboard then OK) We spied the Elder Slime slithering by with smaller slimes, transporting a metal chest. On the chest was carved a piece of underwear. The first time I saw a loot chest for underwear! Finally at least one character would not be going commando. Underwear is hard to come by in this game. Died. Re-loaded. Found the Elder Slime again. Won. This time it was transporting an Assassin's Mask +4. Meh. I would have preferred underwear.

  34. I agree I like the longer respawn rate. Beating them was your own mini goal and the reward was safer hunting/building for a while. The jumping aspect definitely complicated/destroyed several of my old escape and hunting methods I am a fan of the new behavior. I’m sure if anyone had seen me I person when I realized several tree roots were no longer safe that I was hysterical. Several expletives left my mouth as I tried to last minute bolt after I thought I was safe. If I find one in my base though like LadyBugWins though I may not be a fan.

  35. White nationalist terrorist went into a black neighborhood supermarket and and shot ten people to death with an assault rifle while streaming it on twitch.tv. Reportedly had a 100-page anti-black and anti-Semite manifesto of some sort published beforehand that law enforcement was aware of.

  40. I've been playing a lot of Cyberpunk 2077. Don't think I'm the right headspace for this game. I recently had a close family member pass away and all the body horror and post humanism of CP is hitting me much harder than it normally would. I'm really far into the game but still debating whether or not I'll continue or take a break and come back at a better time.
