i would argue the exact opposite. dots, and druid dots especially, are extremely damage efficient, but require time to hit that efficiency. if you're on a lower difficulty or are so over-leveled for an encounter that it's over in like 10 seconds, the dots don't have time to work their magic. high enemy HP and high difficulty are successful niches, not a downside, for dots. [edit: e.g. a tier 2 autumn's decay will do 50% more base damage than a tier 5 blast of frost, and the damage will scale very generously with intellect unlike with blast of frost. there's a time discount factor for sure, but the point is that if you end the fight in a few casts, autumn's decay can't compare, but in any decently scaled fight, autumn's decay will overperform.] yeah, fortitude is higher, but dots are still extremely effective even when they target fortitude. and AR is higher on potd, sure, but corrode is not a particularly hard damage type, compared to fire or frost. in my last run, my druid was damage king early on almost purely off of autumn's decay [note: which targets reflex], insect swarm, and infestation of maggots. (later on, they were still damage king, but for more cheese-y less dot-y reasons like avenging storm or greater maelstrom) i mean this is literally true about using any ability. outside of a long fight w/ infinite resources, you're making choices. like you suggest, a morningstar alone can easily put many bosses into easy-dotting range. pretty much the only time i didn't bother with dots are megabosses, which are more cheesy/technical encounters.3 points

In alot of survival games a mount is allowed for the character. This should be the case for mid sized creatures. Some bugs would be to large to be used as a mount they could be a possible pack animal but riding would be difficult. The bugs cant be to small which would be a factor. Aquatic mount Boatman. While not a true mount it could be used like the seaglide from Subnautica. It shares it's bubble with you. Beware the koi as it will often kill this mount while targeting you. Aerial mount Firefly. It can walk and fly. You also can turn on the glow. Bonus points if when you walk up to it there is a brief light pulse like the unlocking of car via fob. Land mounts Soldier Ant. Has the ability to move faster. Front chop action for cutting lv2 red lv3 black. While riding you can enter respected mounds without hostility. Larvae. Straight forward mount. You can order it to dig and hide to avoid it getting hurt. Front bite is level 1 chop Bombardier. Has a lob of blister fluid it can shoot. You can charge this to create a targeting reticle like mortar rounds. Orb weaver Jr. Allows to shoot a web. Since they included the ability for them to climb we you can use this to climb vertically however there is a cool down of 1 in game hour before it's two rounds recharge. He is a baby after all. That's it while I love the idea of a ladybug and a bee those are just to large compared to the player. They seem to be a better use as a caravan or wagon puller.2 points

I had a Wii U, it was stolen. So then I got another one. That probably makes it worse. EDIT: Actually I misremembered. I didn't need to buy another one. I had previously bought a Deluxe one for my sister, but due to a shipping mixup they sent her two of them. My Basic one was stolen, but we had a backup all along.2 points

I remember trying the first Hyrule Warriors when it came out on Wii U* and more or less having a small mental breakdown where I couldn't stop laughing because of how hilariously...nothing everything about it felt. It was a real "am I even alive right now" kind of surrealist/existential experience. Based on the evidence, I do not believe that the Dynasty Warriors games were made for me, and I think that is okay. *Yes, I am one of the ten people in the entire world that own a Wii U, so you can laugh at me for that one.2 points

I liked the show but I grew up with offensive comedy and comedians and am not really bothered by much of anything. Except unrealistic apartments/living arrangements in sitcoms. There's no way the three of you could afford a place that size in that part of town, not on those salaries.2 points

I would love to see an update that adds a BURG.L unlock for TONS of furniture, environment and aesthetic items to the game. Some ideas include: -Berry leather floor pillows -Berry leather loveseat and couches -Mite fuzz or lint couches/loveseats - Sleeping bag out of mite fuzz/lint - plant fiber/woven lint hammock - Acorn Egg chair -stem tables, grand table (for superbuilds) -more lamps!! -lightning/ladybug night light -scarab chandelier that you can hang from higher ceilings -scarab wall lamps that can project a small rainbow or any color light -Refrigerator!! -low tables -woven lint/fuzz carpets/rugs or blankets that you can sit on - weed stem picnic table/bench -different styles of furniture out of different bugs I would love to see a tarantula added to the game as well, it adds so many upgrade options for poison, daggers etc. And it would be cool to make furniture out of hair you can harvest from them. I have so many more ideas and there’s so much potential with all of the bugs within the game already even if a few new furniture items were added it would be amazing to see.1 point

Within the grounded game, I am a person who would consider quite useful the use of pulleys to climb construction materials when you want to build in high places since you can not climb the vertical stairs with grass plank or bad herb and build acorn or grass stairs is very slow with scaffolding so the pulley or some elevator for manual use would be very useful to climb this class of materials or even to another player or oneself1 point

I think it would be cool if there was a way for people to access your multiplayer world when the host can’t play. For example, my son wants to play and upgrade his weapons/gather materials but I’m not always able to play when he wants to. So it would be cool if there was a way to select certain players certain roles in your world and can only do what you have allowed. Player, guest, spectator etc. maybe have a passcode or something to access the world.1 point

I offer 2 types of electric generator for further use with electrical equipment (illumination, protection, etc.): chemical and mechanical. Chemical (produces a little energy and eventually irretrievably fails) is collected from acid (apple or ant), a container (like an ant egg) and metal contacts (by then it may be possible to tear off a piece of copper wire in the shed). Mechanical (generates more energy, but constantly requires fuel) is assembled from acorns, stems, lubricating fluid and is a wheel into which you launch tamed insects that need to be constantly fed.1 point

have mentioned previous how much o' a concern the shadow docket proliferation is: (from a may 2021 post) however, our biggest concern regarding the current Court has gone complete under the radar: the shadow docket. To get on the shadow docket, any litigant can apply to a single justice, who decides whether to forward the dispute to the full court. Five votes among the nine justices are needed to grant a request. No oral arguments are made but opposing attorneys can file briefs in opposition. To be granted, the request must meet certain criteria, including that the applicants would suffer “irreparable harm” if it is not granted. The public generally sees the court as sorting out matters of national importance through extensive briefing, oral arguments and lengthy rulings that explain the law. But the number of substantive shadow docket decisions rose dramatically during the Trump administration. In those four years, the government filed shadow docket applications at 20 times the rate of each of the two previous eight-year administrations. The high court granted the government’s requests in a majority of cases. https://www.reuters.com/article/legal-us-usa-court-shadow-video/the-shadow-docket-how-the-u-s-supreme-court-quietly-dispatches-key-rulings-idUSKBN2BF16Q with acb's arrival those shadow docket cases is occurring at an increased rate and a majority is being decided 5-4 or 6-3, with no written explanation as to why the Court barred State action, granted relief or even executed a human being for all practical purposes. rulings just kinda happen and most don't know what is taking place or accept meekly the new norm the majority is establishing. ... am personal a textualist who +90% o' the time were in agreement with J. Scalia, but this Court is... is no real majority decision here precise 'cause is shadow docket, but Kavanaugh, in a footnote no less, recognized that either side might win if fully argued, which should put the burden on AL and as such complete undermines the granting o' a freaking stay. most liberals is gonna be enraged 'cause it looks like the Court is trampling voting rights, but this were inevitable as soon as the majority swung right. we tried to warn you all that the Courts which were rejecting trump campaign election lawsuits were gonna be supporting State efforts to marginalize minority voters using many o' the same arguments, so am not the least bit surprised save to note that J. Roberts, who has been 'bout as adversarial towards individual voting rights and fed limits on State efforts to undermine minority voters, is joining the more liberal Justices in dissent. you got no idea how extreme the infractions has gotta be for Roberts to join with Sotomayor on a voting rights case. even so, IF this case had gone through the normal process o' argument the offer o' a written opinion, we would woulda' predicted an AL win. saw this coming. however, and more concerning, this is yet another shadow docket case which diminishes the Constitutional Rights o' Americans w/o even the offer o' a majority opinion and even Gromnir who were early to raise alarms on this issue is surprised by how common is the occurrence o' what were once considered exceptional. this case is gonna get national attention, but media is gonna focus on the voting rights aspect. Americans got no idea how much o' a paradigm shift is the current exploitive use o' the shadow docket, and is no reason they should be concerned with the issue getting so little attention save from a handful o' con law honks. the freaking Court is arguable going rogue and they is able to do so in plain sight with hardly anybody noticing? am admitted surprised and inching towards genuine alarm.1 point

We have noticed up here in the Sacramento area suburbs, a lot more people not wearing masks, vs. the Peninsula where it's been rare to see anyone without one. All the stores/places have the "face covers must be worn" signs but people ignoring them, including, at times, the workers. Kind of depends on the area tho. The "richer" areas you see most people complying, the less nice/more run down blocks/shopping areas, much less. Don't know the area enough to know what other social lines patterns to the mask compliance there might be vs. just the obvious seeming economic ones.1 point

Nah, wouldn't say it mostly neo-nazis. Just usual people going off an inaccurate premise. No mandates for vaccines in Canada by the government, is one for crossing the border. They wanted to have one for inter province travel for truckers but not sure if they'll go ahead with that. Now they're blockading more cities, also one of the crossings at Windsor, although just saw that ended. Not even MCGA, it's MAGA, too many Albertans think they're American. Heck, some want to secede and join the US (I guess they'll get statehood immediately, mostly white after all and have oil). Wonder what the Canadian Trump will be like1 point

You are right. I quickly looked up the base damage in the wiki (because it has been a long time since I played PoE for the last time). The wiki unfortunaltely lists the damage with "Sharp" included and not the base dmg, sorry for the confusion.1 point
-
Just to be exact: pretty sure the 13-19 range is actually after sharp? The base damage of a "plain old sabre" is actually 11-16, but it will deal 13-19 without other bonuses. If you do have other bonuses they scale off of the 11-16 range though, am i right?1 point

That you haven't heard of them doesn't mean they don't exist... https://www.theguardian.com/world/2022/feb/08/canada-ottawa-trucker-protest-extremist-qanon-neo-nazi Other organizers joined Bauder, including Chris Barber, a Saskatchewan trucker who was fined $14,000 in October for violating provincial public health measures; Tamara Lich, an activist for a fringe political party advocating that Western Canada should become an independent state; Benjamin Dichter, who has warned of the “growing Islamization of Canada”; and Pat King, an anti-government agitator who has repeatedly called for Trudeau to be arrested. Since they have arrived in Ottawa, the extreme elements of the protest have been visible: neo-Nazi and Confederate flags were seen flying, QAnon logos were emblazoned on trucks and signs and stickers were pasted to telephone poles around the occupied area bear Trudeau’s face, reading: “Wanted for crimes against humanity.” https://www.cbc.ca/news/world/neo-nazi-group-infiltrator-the-base-1.6302804 Six days before Canadian combat military engineer Patrik Mathews was arrested by the FBI in January 2020, he was offering military training to members of a neo-Nazi group. On recordings made by an anti-fascist activist who infiltrated The Base, Mathews can be heard discussing how he would conduct a paramilitary training event in Michigan, teaching members of the organization skills he had learned in the Canadian army. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-59085935 Two neo-Nazis who were recorded plotting a violent attack to bring down the US government have been sentenced to nine years in prison. US District Judge Theodore Chuang said the recording showed the "virulence" of their desire to kill and overthrow the US government, AP News reported. "The court rejects the notion that this was merely talk among friends," he added. Mathews, a Canadian Army reservist, had fled Canada after his name was exposed by the Winnipeg Free Press. He went on to live in the US state of Georgia where he engaged in military-style training exercises with the group. Yes, they are out in force these days, being the shadow organizers of the "anti vax"/"anti mask"/"anti try to stop covid" movements, trying to incite violence and attract the brainless masses to do their bidding, as the good puppets they are.1 point

multiple times, on this board and elsewhere. 'course, the liberty loving folks who sneer at mask or vaccine mandates justify by simultaneous diminishing the seriousness o' the pandemic. the government is exaggerating the severity o' the pandemic... unless you are in russia. and even if you do get covid is not as if you are gonna die 'cause the people who are dying o' covid is really dying o' heart disease and diabetes and auto-immune disorders, and so is a bunch o' hoopla and QQing over another fatty dying or some old person who were gonna expire in a year or two... or so the callousness goes until the somebody dying is not a stranger and then sudden the liberty loving mockers o' pandemic severity is offering their heartfelt best wishes that your grandma or immunocompromised child gets better asap, 'cause is not as if they is monsters, right? don't even get 'em started on how taking unproven vaccines, vaccines which enrich big pharma and the clinton cabal o' pedophile sex traffickers, is functional making self into a guinea pig which is double stoopid 'cause as already stated the pandemic is a big nothingburger that only the timid and overweight should be concerned regarding. etc. losers believe conspiracy theories. we has linked those bs receptivity studies more than once and one o' the frequent common factors 'mongst the people who believe conspiracy theories which validate their selfishness is loser status-- denotative as 'posed to connotative. democrats were far more likely to believe 9/11 conspiracy theories at the time, 'cause republicans were in power. in spite o' the fact republicans were in power during the trump administration, the qanon folks here in the US is tending to be the white and working class group who feels as if they has been getting a raw deal for multiple decades. if you see self as having received the fuzzy end o' the lollipop, then bs receptivity increases significant. is no different in other nations. the persons who is railing 'gainst mask mandates and vaccines is not championing their right to infect and kill others, 'cause the pandemic is not real and/or is being much exaggerated. you sheeple can go ahead and wear your masks and get vaccinated and get boosted, but QQing over masks and vaccinations is just proof o' your weakness and ignorance... +900k US dead and near six million worldwide is exaggeration and/or nothingburger. HA! Good Fun!1 point

As I like building/decorating I would love to see the items suggested above. Aside from the items you listed I would like clutter objects to place on the tables/shelves. I would like us to be able to craft some, but I would really like there to be ones we can find. (I want there to be other things to hunt for when I'm resource gathering.) One of the Brug.L logs talks about a pair of dice being shrunk. I think Wendel would have repeated that experiment several times with different objects and I want to find those shrunken objects the yard, in bases, and in the buildings if we ever get inside them. . Clutter objects are not needed to progress so I'd like them to be tricky to find. Molars are very easy and buried treasure is pretty obvious as well. I'm up for a challenge. Here are some suggestions to build off the list above. Furniture/clutter: Hammock Stove top (cook different meals... or have a cooking skill for use to work on to make meals have better perks) Loom (make fabric for other items/armor) Windchime (maybe made with bone shards (very underused item)) Checkerboard Newton's Cradle Door mat Statues or something that can go on top of pillars Fireplace. Not the campfire but an actual fireplace. A sink... maybe one that hooks up to the water container that I never use. You could drink from sink. Not really need but hey, if we have a sink I want it to function. A shower... also hooks to the water container I never use. However if they ever made our characters stink after a period of time of not washing and our stench aggroed insects more I would be interested in showering. Mannequin heads (for head gear that does not have chest/arm pieces or leg/knee guards.) Pully (a way to make lifts/elevators) Radio - Either find a shrunk one or create one from parts found a lab. We have all this technology in the labs that is our size and yet none of it can be used in our bases?1 point

So, thanks to all the articles on the matter being really terrible, nobody linking a clip or at least providing a useful transcript of the joke I just went ahead and watched parts of it on Netflix. I'm finally going to make myself an internet persona non grata (after successfully having poorly reflected on myself so very recently ), but I don't get it. I don't mean the joke, I don't get the outrage. I think that if you're actually outraged* about the joke, then you're not getting it, or at the very least lack the context of the entire bit, the nuances and the intention, and are just angry at having read something that told you to be angry at something. Congratulations. If there's anything, then that it feels a little lame (not mild, just not working all that well), because I've seen similar setups being executed much better before, but that's not Jimmy Carr's fault, as I'm pretty sure he didn't copy from Serdar Somuncu who made his whole carreer with being equally "terrible" in his jokes**, except all in German, which is pretty hilarious considering Germans are usually a bit less concerned with freedom of speech and expression. Pretty sure there's a language barrier to consider, even if it actually also contains the same pre-face and trigger warning about being politically incorrect, so he's very unlikely to have been inspired by Serdar Somuncu. *One can still find it in poor taste while understanding what Carr meant by it. Especially after stating what he meant. That people are clamoring for his cancellation gives it a certain hilarity on a meta level that was sorely lacking from the joke. Insofar, the attempt at meta-humor worked better than the intention and execution of the actual joke. **Best example as it really pertains to this more than the others he's done was to contrast the outrage of the Islamic terror attacks on Charlie Hebdo and the Bataclan with the absolute lack of outrage whenever Boku Haram commits terror attacks that by all means displaced, maimed and killed more people by a factor of a thousand, because nobody cares about dead "Bimbos" (German derogatory term for people of African descent, very similar to the English n-word).1 point

Bit of a quick PreCure post: This has been consistently entertaining and since the new villain showed up actually pretty good too. Still early in the season so it could potentially degenerate into Sailor Moon SuperS and start having pedophile alicorns called Pegasus or an evil circus and stuff, but if the worst criticism I can come up with is that the setup is derivative and the EVIL KING being one of the most Saturday Morning Cartoon-villainesque, uhm, villains so far, then I've seen much worse, and a lot of that. A few better shows too, but not nearly as many. Well, I'll know in 35 episodes - or maybe after the second season, because these two get another season. Hmm.1 point

I am a bit confused here. I think at first you are talking about a contemplative (helwalker/priest) (because I do not see why a Monastic Unarmed Training is good for a caster) and then you are talking about celebrant (chanter/priest) - the caster you eventually played. I assume that the unarmed training was for the contemplative, but the SSS and weycs stuff was definitely for celebrant. Sorry I don't want to nitpick, I just want to clarify in case I am missing some synergy I am not seeing. I appreciate your response it has a ton of great info. Especially the cool items and how you switch them around (I think that it makes a lot of senese to use SSS + Weycs for casting and then the other stuff for power level boosting, I think I like the idea of starting with a Shield + Axe for initial damage, then switch to cast with SSS and Weyc and then go back to Shield + Axe for sustained power level bonus but also more defense, I will lose the dagger's effect though... I will see how it works - I just cannot imagine playing a chanter without a shield to be honest after PoE 1). I think I will give this bad boy a try once I am done with my current playthrough.1 point

There is one easy function to implement on the flying mount. That is include a max hover height. The firefly has a max hover height of around those wooden post by the pond or just above the grass. Adding your weight to the mix and lorewise you could explain the lack of free flight while limiting access to certain areas of the map. Not to mention mosquito/bee zones could turn deadly if a mosquito dismounts you forcibly. Another thing would possibly agitation with the mount. I can't see you charging a wolfspider on the back of a soldier Ant like a pint sized don quixote. If a you take a mount to something it is afraid of or it takes to much damage (ride into the haze) it bucks you and runs to it's safe zone. As far as taming goes I say stay to the omnitec story. Maybe there are collared bugs at certain points that the lab techs had hatched during the course of experiments. This would make the associated mob skittish but not hostile. You could get a quest line for each mount including healing damage (bandages) feeding and fixing it's shelter/making the saddle. This way it won't be to much on the toes of arc and would separate that these mobs are special1 point

I absolutely love the comparison to "unlocking of car via fob" XD Mounts and the ability to fly seem to be a very end game goal to me since I just unlocked ziplines and am happy with that progression where a lot of the game is in going from A to B and exploring the world. Fireflies would be the perfect tool to navigate the world in the dark, and definitely a progression tool to reach end game challenges and content. The ability to fly will render a lot of content obsolete. So it would be limiting if all future content of this game had to take flying into account. This would render challenges like "How do I get to the birdbath?" obsolete, just fly there, boom, hedge navigation challenges cheesed. So I'm all for this being true end game content (Maybe can come in usefull to navigate the woods treetops?). Land mounts seem very fun. How would we get the creatures to become mounts? I've thought of a few steps that could work into subduing the creatures to turn them into a mount. Bringing their health all the way down, knoocking them out, trapping them or feeding them special food.1 point
