My 30th was the year for me. I had those questions pop up in my head before, but I always had the excuse that I'm still young and in my period of life when I'm deciding what to do with it. (to the other people here, I know that being in your 30s is still young, but you have to admit that at this point you are no longer a kid and need to have some **** figured out). Anyways I'm not unhappy with where I am in life, but I still wonder if I'm maybe missing out on some things... Guess you got the better firmware...3 points

I finished orientation and started my new driving job. Orientation was in Lenoir City, TN (next to Knoxville) but my truck was in DeLand,FL (near Orlando), so they got me a rental to make the trip, I loaded the bare essentials I brought with me into the truck, then I got a load from Jacksonville, FL to Piedmont, SC to get me home so that I can load the rest of my stuff into the truck. I got home late last night. Tomorrow I start my regular routine of 5 days on the road then 2 days at home. It's a bit of an adjustment going back to 53' dry van from 43' tanker, but it's a small price to pay to not have to deal with surge (the liquid inside the tank moving) any more.2 points

A long, long time ago I saved a thread from the old Interplay board, it was shortly before the invasion of Iraq (wow, almost 20 years now). I originally wanted to use the material to make fun of the posters and their predictions, but then two things happend. The forums died and the post war situation turned out worse than anyone of us opposed to the attack guessed. Man, reading through this, I'm beginning to realize why I saved the thread in the first place. Sorry for putting politics in here, but that's the only one I have left. Poster "The Raccoon", who was BruceVC's predecessor. Rock me some alaby and fry a criminal or two on faked charges. Gunnery Sergeant Gregster compares Saddam to good old Hitler. Dear God, some people's forum status: I, of course, also posted in this thread. In the interest of sparing myself the humiliation, I'm sure as hell not going to quote anything. That's... terrifying. 20-years-ago myself rivalled BruceVC's spelling and grammatical prowess. Ah, hell, why not. I always put manual line breaks in my post and refused to capitalize anything for... some reason that sure made sense to me back then. People calling each other butt-heads, morons, lady parts Trump likes to grab. Compared to that our current political thread is tame.2 points

Lmao, I guess following it up would've been helpful, considering the discussion it spawned regarding entertainment and humor not being anywhere near universal. ...Except you did follow it up: Your follow-up was not very helpful, . P.S. Does anyone ever see some of their old posts and think their past selves must have been an alien?2 points

I was trying to make a joke. Scrubs was a guilty pleasure of mine in high school and It's Always Sunny is something I've always enjoyed. KP edgy phase was not fun.2 points

That's correct, but when you have a username as unwieldy as it is (four syllables!), you take any decent nicknames you can get while politely asking people to stop using the bad ones, . On a side-note, I took it not from the Bible, but from the titular demon/spirit in a children's book that I read...you guessed it, when I was a kid. @Hurlshot Haha, it's fine, . Whatever image you tried to link did not work - whoever visits it will be sent to some other random image instead. (e): Looks like you fixed it.1 point

have difficulty mentally shortening to bart. is bar-timeaus as 'posed to bart-imeaus, yes? am guessing there is curious australian slang for blind, no? might be an option. HA! Good Fun!1 point

I think a big part of the problem is the specific particulars of how I write (little word usage, sentence structure, and tone stuff) changes over time, so it's like even if I still agree with the base ideas of what I wrote, it feels like someone else wrote it for me.1 point

I do get that felling of "did I write that?", but if I think on it hard enough and try to get in to the frame of mind I was in that moment, then I can usually get to that same point. Trouble is that emotion are in the driver seat most of the time.1 point

I thought I remembered what @Hurlsnot was talking about, so I went a-searchin': Kind of difficult to interpret your message as being anything but anti-Sunny (and also anti-Scrubs), given you quoting Hurlshot where it's the only mentioned show, .1 point

Pig (2021). I was not expecting this, it's like the anti-John Wick and that works wonderfully. Seeing Nicholas Cage in a more subdued role was really nice. Though I would not want to eat anything Robin made unless he took a shower. The Dead Don't Die (2019). I wanted to see this years ago but the local theaters only had it for a weekend while some Marvel movie took up half the screens. It's very different and I think it is very good. Watching it now is sort of timely to compare with Don't Look Up, because it works much better as a satire of climate change inaction with a fraction of the effort. Maybe that's just because it is a better movie. Shakma (1990). A b-movie from the 90's that is like an episode of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia but with a crazed baboon. It's hilarious.1 point

I'm generally not in favor of shorter games (despite also having all that stuff you mention). I also don't really care for replayability. What I mainly enjoy in cRPGS is a really good story that takes me for a ride. And replayability is not a factor for me because of my emphasis on story: once I know the story, much of the magic is gone, except if the game is really good, I do tend to do another run with different NPCs, if I feel I missed out on something big in that department. I wrote this simply to emphasize what a marvelous success Deadfire was simply as a game. At least some of our interests are quite different, yet we both enjoyed Deadfire an awful lot, it's one of our favorite games ever.1 point

The Jan. 6 event was clearly a Trump-inspired rebellion to disrupt the Constitutional authority of the government to manage the Presidential transition, so I think it's quite acceptable to call it an insurrection. The fact that it failed is mainly due to Trump's unwillingness to directly lead the mob, which caused it to peter out after their initial success. Fox News would like it to be white-washed and apply some less-loaded label, but that's just spinning the event. Next time we may not be so lucky.1 point

Yak-0. It could be because it was my first one, but from the ones I played so far (Yak0-3+LaD) it was the one with the most coherent storyline.1 point

Well, what I meant was to remove all power scaling. Heart of fury and WotW are just weapon attack implemented using statuseffect. Removing PL only serve to remove double scaling. They still perform fullattack with damage/acc/pen of the equipped weapon. So unless you want +5% damage per PL on your "FullAttack"(but not pen and acc ?), removing power level have no downside. For Whirling Strike, you can argue that DoT will suffer if no PL scaling. But it is already an Lv-8 ability so scaling won't make a huge difference. It can be done. You can change "Clear out" to GenericAbility and edited affected components in attackdata(attack animation, cast speed, recovery etc). There is no issue with scaling. It will scales like WotW, whirling strike, HoF etc. In fact, I modded mine that way because I feel it is more "clean" and intuitive . ^ Clear out with visible AOE The only downsides are that since it is now an "active ability", recovery speed is fixed instead of depending on weapon and that initial "fortitude" attack to push and interrupt doesn't benefit from weapon scaling(since you are not using weapon at that instance)1 point

Tamako Market, Episode 6: Tamako builds a haunted house as an attraction for the shopping arcade. This one was kind of fun, Dera was funny as usual and someone at the end came looking for him. It was a good episode, and as usual, not really... dunno. Tamako Market keeps being fine, but nothing more. I'll try to get to watch some Carried by the Wind tomorrow. Wasn't really in the mood today, and I spent most of my time playing Grim Dawn of all things. Not sure why (probably because the current patch made a meme-build good enough to play it, and it's been a blast ).1 point

I did like how they were shouting "Treason!" during the insurrection, though. Like they represent the forces of treason! If they shouted things like "Freedom" or "Liberty" I may have taken them more seriously. What is it that these people want anyway? Their objectives are non-sensical, the person who said it was just butthurt over their preferred candidate losing sums it up perfectly I think.1 point

Yes, that's possible. If you plan to pick Two Handed Style then I would pick any good two hander as backup weapon - weapon focus indeed doesn't matter for Firebrand.1 point

That made me laugh. I believe that you can have different political views and vote for different parties but that doesnt mean you cant be friends with people like this. Because it all depends on what matters in any friendship and why would political differences mean you cant other things in common? I have friends on the left and right but we have things in common like a love of gaming and good Greek food1 point

@BruceVC I was thinking of you yesterday by the way. Tech guy told me: "your graphics card was leaning left" And my first thoughts were "Of course it does, it is my card after all." and "Bruce will have a field day teasing me about this."1 point

Clear Out would be perfect if : - It didn't have an extra attack vs main target - It didn't need an extra roll to hit extra target - AoE was displayed. I think these are all rather reasonable and balanced requests. And also super straightforward. But can't even be modded. Higher Tier ones (Heart of Fury, Whirling Strikes, WotW) get their weird double scaling (that by the way can't be corrected easily either) and are Full attacks. It seems every ability that triggers weapon attack esp with AoE is implemented in its own way with its own glitches. Have you ever tried Heart Seeker with a blunderbuss (and this ability is the cleanest) ? I'm not even sure what it does. Video game industry is such an unforgiving far west for devs...1 point

I've built a new pc, my first one since 2007/2008, yet lost all interest in CP2077 and most other games on my wishlist. I'll mostly replay FNV because that was the end of an era in gaming, and do cpu related tasks unrelated to gaming.1 point
